Spideypool thoughts

While I’m a huge supporter of “Wade deserves all the good things the universe can and should give him”

I am also a very big believer of “Peter is a scientist by nature and has never been able to test his strength at its fullest so all his data is thrown off and it frustrates him to his core”

Which is why I think Spider-Man would absolutely be able to deck Deadpool in the face at full force. (With Wade’s “a-ok” and Peter’s “I can not believe I’m actually letting you talk me into this”)

Also the goldmine that would be all the aftercare (safe for work form) would be top of the line

Peter immediately regretting all his life chooses that led him here

Wade blacking out/straight up dying as his face inverts, bounces back absolutely ecstatic

Getting over the “I killed my best friend” moment very quickly Peter jumps right into excitingly info dumping the differences between how that felt and when he has to hold back vs the results

Possibly helping clean blood off Wade’s face while yapping happily

Waiting for his shattered nose to reform, falling only deeper in love with Spidey

Jegulus as spideypool but James is deadpool and Regulus is spiderman.

Reg, at his core, is a martyr. He will let himself die for the cause. He puts himself in danger for the greater good. He signs up for missions he isn't sure he can complete. He does the shit nobody else can because he has to be good (if you've read Hell Followed with Us, he is a total Benji variant, through and through)

James, at his core, is a silly frat guy with a heart of gold who likes to swear. He'd do dangerous shit, sure, but not only would he not notice (nor care) that it was dangerous, but he would also have so much fun doing it. He does shit because he wants to. He doesn't use his power for good (hows that a me thing lol? anyways lets go see how much booze I can guzzle) and he doesn't consider himself a hero (tho he doesn occasionally partake in accidental heroics)

And Reg would hate him for it. Hate him for being everything that he (reg) wants to be and doing it on accident. It would be like torture. Imagine wanting something so effing bad, and you train and try, and try, and try, and you see someone just get that thing. They didn't earn it. They don't deserve it. They just got it. That's how Reg feels about James.

They'd total form a begrudging alliance that turns into something more, and James would totally be protective of Reg because Reg isn't protective enough of himself. And Regulus, in turn, would totally put himself in more danger because this is how you show love? right?? risk ur life 'n shit for them.

oh gosh I'm not sure!! I feel like my take on them is somewhat specific so I can't really say I've read/consumed anything that's 10000% matched that, unfortunately. sorry to disappoint :-(

I do stand by my fic & comic recs and encourage anyone who hasn't explored them to give them a try, though! sometimes it's fun to watch somebody else take control of my barbies for a little while y'know? plus they're super fun and feature a variety of takes on the characters while (imo) not betraying the core of the dynamic

as for my specific flavour of spideypool, I've been wanting to make another little one-off comic with the boys but just don't know what situation to throw them into atm—so if you have any inspo and wanna see more of my portrayal, lmk! maybe there'll be more of that soon

Dating Sam Carpenter was like a breath of fresh air for you, the Spider-Man of the Scream Universe. You called yourself the Wolf Spider. Of course, Sam didn’t know about it, you’d know she’d freak out as much about that as she freaks about Tara.

You live just down the hall from Sam and Tara, makes it easy for her to sneak over once everyone else is asleep. Despite a title like Wolf Spider, you love being the domestic and soft hearted kind of lover around Sam. Cooking dinner and dancing in the moonlight with her. Honestly it’s the best kind of secret relationship.

Being part of the Spider Society, on the other hand, can be quite a drag. Your mentor, Miguel O’Hara, is always going on about canon events and how you’re disrupting your own by dating Sam.

You disagree with your mentor on very few things but definitely that. You believe that your fate is something you choose not something chosen for you.

But you do like Peter B Parker and Maymay as your other pal, Spideypool, calls her.

Occasionally you’ll babysit Maymay in your dimension. All that Sam knows is that May is your ‘niece’.

Well tonight is one such night. You were prepping May’s baby food when you turned and found that she was gone.

“May?! Maymay?! Where are you?” You tried to hush call out to her.

And then came the scream. You immediately recognize it as Chad’s. You run out of your apartment and into Sam’s.

“That baby’s possessed!!” Chad screams, pointing at little May who’s currently crawling happily on the ceiling. Little May giggles as she crawls, completely oblivious to the scene she’s causing.

You jump and crawl on the ceiling after her. Sam and Tara just stare at you.

“Maymay. Come here” you gently pull the baby into your arms.

You jump down and come face to face with the Core Four. Quinn, meanwhile, stares in shock from her bedroom door.

“Uhh…hi,” you shrug. “Yeah I’m the Wolf Spider.”

“Baby,” Sam breathlessly says, “that is so hot. You’re a great cook and a great babysitter?! I’m gonna have to keep you”

“You’re dating our neighbor?” Tara asks.

“Youre dating the Wolf Spider?!” Mindy asks excitedly.

Sam wraps her arms around your waist and gives Maymay a little kiss on the head.

Quinn meanwhile texts her dad worriedly, you’re not sure what for. But whatever it’s about it’s cancelling something.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

Yes, actually! And entirely out of spite! :D I used to be a hardcore Spideypool fan (I still am tbh just less core), and I once made a post about Spiderio that somehow drew Starker antis into my ask box?? Someone literally came to tell me how terrible it was and shame me for just mentioning it in my post, and before that moment I had had no interest AT ALL in Starker, it didn't do anything for me. But after that I made it my literal mission to post about it as much as possible, and now I'm more of a Starker fan than a Spideypool fan, so :D Thank that poor angry asshole for all my Starker fics ✨

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character (Yoichi)?

He has the will and capacity to kill. He's a paragon of moral virtue but sometimes the moral thing to do is kill. BUT Yoichi also shares his brother's bloodlust, I believe this wholeheartedly. It just tends to be directly almost solely at his brother rather than the general populace :) He's in Izuku's ear like "Kill his ass, Ninth" and Izuku, full of similar bloodlust somewhere in between Yoichi's and AFO's, rabidly complies 🙏 He's just as insane as AFO just in a different way I believe this wholeheartedly.

hey sci, so I thought I'd ask the professional in Spideypool. My girlfriend is absolutely obsessed with both Spider-man and Deadpool, he loves anything to do with it, but I am not so educated on what she calls the "intense and incredibly deep" lore. It's her birthday soon, and I wanna get him/organise something he'll actually like. I've gotten her funkos, clothes, the whole lot previously so I wanna do something genuinely special. Any ideas? I was thinking a movie marathon or a show marathon and having a gentle day with him. Not sure, figured you'd be the expert. Her birthdays in about 2 weeks so I've got time to prepare, just brainstorming ATM. My friend told me to order a Deadpool outfit and wear it underneath a suit, take him to a fancy restaurant and when we go home do the olde "I have something really important to tell you.. And I don't want you to get upset" and then rip my suit off or something.

to me it sounds like an incredibly hot date. particularly the ripping off of the suit. do that. i hope he's not here to read all of this and get completely spoiled. if that happens, it's not my fault. also, if you want the full deadpool experience, go for chimichangas, i guess. just don't set fire to the place (which would be a very memorable, and very spideypool-core way for the night to go down)

Okay so I do ship it in theory like it is my most bookmarked ship, but I realized that I do ship Peter with everyone so in order to switch it up I'm going to explain why I don't ship it in canon or even the vast majority of fanon

Why don’t you ship it?

so most spideypool content is movie Wade x mcu or webb Peter which makes it seem like there's an incredible age difference which is just so fucked up because one of the core parts of Wade is that he doesn't hurt kids so to see so much fan content around him manipulating a child is really upsetting from a character stand point. And even when we're talking about the comics, everyone thinks of the Joe Kelly isn't it bromantic run which is excellent but it's such a weird point in their lives. Like there's so much potential for both of them together but fans kinda cling to the wrong things and twist my boys into completely different characters

2. What would have made you like it?

Give me canon compliance or give me death like it's so rare to find a spideypool fic where they're both in character or hell even one of them is in character. This is a ship with a lot of potential to be so fucking messy but not in the way fans make it. Like usually it's Wade that is borderline abusive to Peter, but I would argue that if they ever started dating, Peter would really hurt Wade whether he knows it or not. Like this could be really interesting if Wade got Peter to compromise his morals or if Peter twisted Wade's hero worship of Spider-Man to get him to conform to his worldview. But it's so rare to see anyone take it that direction. Usually it's just Peter being like "oh no he's so big and scary" and Wade being like "how could he love a monster like me" as if either of them would ever. Just let them be a little terrible you know?

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

It's a gateway drug to thinking Peter Parker is bisexual and for me, it was how I got into comics. Like I got really into online comic fandom around 2016 when all those bromantic queerbait panels were floating around the internet and I went looking for their source and that's how I started reading comics. And like fuck it's good queer bait, it has me frothing at the mouth like it is equal to destiel in my mind like there's so much to pick apart there. And it's a ship with so much potential! Like I love it so much I genuinely do ship it, but I only trust me and a couple other people to do it right. Like it's so fun when you fully lean into how terrible each of them are, but also how much love they have for the world. Like if the internet wasn't cowardly, we'd bring matt and elektra energy to spideypool
