i've been returning to my art and trying to develop an art style since I started to try making animatics and I was wondering if you had any tips for developing an art style bc yours is honestly both inspiration for me and it just hits right to my hyperfixations.

also even though i kind of (definitely) gave up on the fic, I've just had the concept of trans fem! mq and eunuch!mq in my head bc of both brainrot for the fic and generally mq brainrot and its just circulating there lol

i'm a firm believer that no one actually has one set art style and that each person's art style will continuously change and evolve along with our growth and the new inspirations we take!! just do what you feel is best or what you want to ❤️ it'll all come together at some point, or maybe it won't, but that's the fun part about the whole process imo hehe

I see your jun wu as miguel o hara idea and raise you the angsty idea of :

Jun Wu actively trying to kill MQ and him figuring it out over the 800 years. JW isolating MQ and making sure that there's almost no other god ( except fx maybe) at his side. Spidey!MQ could also make it harder for MQ in the Cuocuo storyline bc him and fx are even more distant than in canon.

Also consider : MQ choses non-deities to carry similar powers and helps pick Spiders in different dimensions, even acting as a guardian for some.

(The Miles Morales and Mu Qing parallel is real.)

god imagine mu qing getting his own arch nemesis like his own green goblin or smthn and the guy just. fucking hounds him. never leaves him alone. everywhere he goes, the goblin is there, lurking and quietly sabotaging every aspect of his life. it fucks mq up so bad. and the worst part is that bc the whole spiderman thing is a secret, he has no one to tell all of this to. all the other heavenly officials notice him becoming weirder and angrier with every passing year but no one has the guts nor the compassion to approach him abt it. all except fx, who tried to help mq despite them being rivals and even though he has no idea what mq's whole deal really is. for a short miniscule second, everything seemed like it could be better.

this is where jun wu swoops in, offering an extended hand for mq, a pillar to lean on. jw checks on mq every so often under the pretense of doting on his officials, keeps him behind after meetings and slowly gains mq's unwavering trust. and i imagine him slowly twisting mq's viewpoint and using all the manipulative abuser tactics to isolate mq and keep him in his grasp. "you can't trust everyone, be wary of whose company you keep." "do you truly believe nan yangs concern for you is genuine?" "i am the only one who understands you, xuan zhen."

and so mq strays even further from everyone else. fx, who had thought they were getting somewhere, is thrown to the side. he has no idea what to do now that mq has fully shut him out.

my god my god...... and the moment when mq finally realizes the goblin has been jw all along.... the heartbreak... the betrayal.... 💔 i'm going to go insane thinking abt this

i just remembered how all the street kids back in xianle loved mq and I'm imagining mq as a sort of parental/big brother figure to the younger spider society members - especially Miles. idk it just fits.

For the green goblin idea, I feel like it could be JW and maybe his clones. MNQ could also probably add to MQ's whole complex about not being the intended spiderman.

Also, did MQ randomly get powers or was he bit?

mq as the (seemingly reluctant) parental/big brother figure (he secretly loves being it) REAL i love that side of him so bad it's so underappreciated 🫶

i forgot abt mnq omg.... brains kinda fuzzy but iirc mnq never really liked mq did he?? this could add,, LAYERS of misunderstanding and trauma. love this... will brainstorm more on this tmrw morning when i can get my brain to work again.

hi there - this is the anon that asked about spiderman mu qing again. I just had another question - does mq somehow make his own magical webs with the xianxia equivalent of chemistry or is it just natural for him like in the original movies?

I was also wondering - does the whole spider strength thing actually make him stronger than fx and if so, does he purposely loose spars with fx sometimes when he was keeping the whole thing a secret?

I'm just rlly intrigued by all the possibilities a tgcf spiderman has tbh.

i think it should be natural for him to make magical webs!! tgcf being xianxia opens up so much possibilities actually i think it's super cool to think abt the spider bite in a more magical/fantasy lens like imagine if he can control spiders too the same way hc controls his wraith butterflies??? super neat stuff my man would be unstoppable

and he's definitely stronger than fx but purposely loses fights (which he hates doing but a man gotta do what a man gotta do) to keep it a secret

best believe once the secrets out, he is absolutely bodying fx

i didn't think that far ahead tbh but i think it would be funny if he got bit on a solo mission and just kept the whole spiderman thing a secret from every one and every thing until a battle where he needs to pull out the big guns (maybe the final arc with bwx/jw ? idk) and xie lian and feng xin are just. flabbergasted. awed. appalled. confused. hua cheng isn't as surprised bc he knew (of course he knew, somehow someway, he's hc after all)

um this is the spidey!fem!MQ anon and I just wanted to ask if there was anything specific to spidey!MQ or fem!MQ that you have that I could add to my fic (like MQ's powers or her villains or interactions)

also I'm going in a bit of a different and darker turn with the fic than expected (😭 the angst is too tempting) so any ideas on how MQ interacts with other (tgcf characters and spiders alike) would be helpful

i just think mq would probably have similar powers to most spider people like sticking on walls, web shooting, spidey sense, you know the drill. i do however also like the idea of both my xianxia spidersonas having sentient spider silk/web!!! like imagine if it's smthn like ruoye and it can move on its own and be commanded.... i think it'll be super neat

also super cool to play around with the xianxia aspect for mq's powers like,, maybe they can share his thoughts with their spiders? kinda like a mental link so they can see what the spiders see and all that!!

i think the way they interact with most characters would be more or less the same but just,,, with added tension i guess?? like mq is already pretty guarded with a lot of inferiority complex masked as superiority complex and a huge fear of people shunning him so i imagine it's like,, doubled now as a spidey and especially as a woman too!! i think biggest canon divergence in regards of their dynamic w other characters is their relationship w jun wu bc of the whole manipulating and isolating thing. i think thats pretty much it!! and like if you want to just spin your own tale on it, that's cool too!! you dont gotta use my spiderqing lore if you think something else would suit it better. love seeing what other people come up with! 🩷🩷🩷

Like... I'm just in love with the concept and like you can just explore her character sm with it esp. how mq percieves feminity. If you add the spidey!mq idea (and I started drafting the spidey! and fem!MQ fic btw) to the fem!MQ idea, I feel that once mq being zhizhu comes out, MQ would be accused of being power hungry and fx would prob make more sexist accusations abt mq (me remembering the concubine remark is just saddening)

Yea it would def be more angsty than happy

BUT mq would def understand miles ANDgwen's perspectives so that's good ig

I just watched atsv and I was like mu qing would definitely defend miles against the spider verse. Also the fem! mq idea I had (this is that anon) - I had another idea about it.

What if this was a scenario that she technically crossdresses ig and shes pretty tall so everyone just thinks wow a really pretty, strong guy or whatever after she establishes herself.

cue xl and hc one day visiting the southwest or smthing and they see an accurate statue of mq and its clear its a female martial god. They ask why mq is portrayed as a woman and an old priest tells them that the southwest accurately portrays their guardian and shows them some cherry blossoms he put on the altar long ago and tells that it signifies a prayer that she finds her friends again.

Cue xl being emotional over all of this and trying to subtly gift mq with jewelry or spider themed weaponry or some other stuff he remembers her ( and he thinks that he's been misgendering her and mq is offended by it and not that she crossdresses bc when has xl not blamed himself) liking when they were mortal.

FX just thinking really gnc and then thinking mq is trans alongside xl and realizing that he punched a woman.

idk cisfem!MQ or transfem!MQ, fem!MQ just has such good headcanon potential.

its like... mq knows how it feels to have everyone think you're wrong + he probably thinks everyone else in the spider society are daft and stuck up or whatever so he would definitely defend miles !!! and i can totally imagine him being shifty and weird, leading everyone to think he's up to no good, kinda like how most viewers thought hobie wouldve been like a rival or smthn for miles, only to flip everything around at the end and be like Psyche!! he's been on miles' side all along 🤙🤙

this poor girl who everyone just sees as lesser 9 she's crossdressing in this hc of mine bc it seems more realistic that way tbh with how xianle is portrayed) who has no sort of status or stepping stone or anything to help suffers so much and quite literally ascends from her strength and is bitten and given powers only for her to be told that she's 'unworthy' of it and her just fighting against every judgement passed on her.

I just was thinking abt this for some reason. It also hits harder if somehow this double perception exists in the heavenly realm too and it's like the ling wen situation but reversed - the south west sees her as a strong martial god and a woman but everyone else denies it bc how could a female martial god exist and the same goes for zhizhu jiangjun. post-canon she'd probably shed the whole farce or straight up deny how ppl try to tell her story.

Hi it's the anon that had spiderman!mq brainrot. I wanted to say the flower and pastries idea for his offerrings was influenced by the idea i had that : (a) xuan zhen officials and devout worshippers/friends of mq were aware of him being zhizhu jiangjun and (b) mq never stopped looking for xl so that his worshippers knew their god was searching for his friend and offered flowers (I love the idea of mq's worshippers knowing him way better than the heavens sm.(

Looking at spiderman mq, I'm just going to drop brain rot I've been having abt it -

He can transfer powers to those who he deems worthy

the symbol his topmost disciples at xuan zhen have are stitched talismans of spiders that are unique to each oth them.

as 'spiderman' he uses two sabers bc he's gained the ability to be ambidextrous

he wears a simple veil as spiderman and his offerings are usually of flowers and pastries

mq definitely dresses up nicely as spiderman with eyeliner and everything bc alter ego! Right there! nobody can judge him like they do in the heavens! (fx had a mental breakdown seeing him as spiderman)

He definitely took miles and the crew to visit his dimension (would beat up miguel definitely)

He has some sort of weather related or cryogenic abilities alongside spiderpowers

He was bit by a spotted orb weaver

he'd probably go by Spider General (Zhīzhū Jianggjun I think - but I'm not chinese and I used the internet to look it up so I may be wrong)

and zhizhu jiangjun is cool (and is correct afaik)!! when i first drew him i played around with the idea of him going by xuan zhu jiangjun—basically xuan zhen 玄真 but replace the zhen 真 (truth) with zhu 蛛 from zhizhu 蜘蛛 (spider) so it becomes enigmatic spider instead of enigmatic truth ASFHSKXJKEKKD

would be cool if people originally call him zhizhu jiangjun but after the identity reveal, they start calling him xuan zhu jiangjun !!!!!
