big fan of body horror and psychological horror so obviously in this au they brain of a spider cannot feasibly hold the entire human consciousness. this means jon's thoughts are more stilted and he's having a terrible time as he fights to maintain his humanity

however this man's hate for spiders is so strong he manages to hold on for two weeks through sheer will power and giving every spider related instinct the metaphorical middle finger when it pops up

as you can imagine, annabelle is having a fucking field day

Honestly still not over A Guest For Mister Spider.

So we have Jon. Funky little guy. He’s paranoid and in denial and suspecting his coworkers of murder, but like. In a quirky way. Go little dude go. So the end of season two rolls around, and I’m kinda bummed out about the whole “framed for murder” thing, so I jump right into season three, expecting the plot (and Jon) to go on its merry way. So I, the picture of naïveté, turn on MAG81.

And then Jon goes “The woman who raised me was never able to truly love me because I was a constant reminder that her son was dead, and also never cared to monitor my reading, or what I was doing at all, which led to me being severely traumatised. Also I was bullied by an eighteen-year-old at age eight, and either my grandmother didn’t care, or I never bothered to tell because I knew I couldn’t rely on her. And then that same teenager was eaten by a huge fucking spider, unwillingly saving me from the same fate, and I’ve blamed myself for it ever since. Also I definitely have severe undiagnosed ADHD. Anyway I’m wanted by the police, byeee>3”.

And I’m just. Supposed to listen on. With the knowledge that my Projection Pillow Number One has felt like he shouldn’t be alive since he was eight. What the fuck Jonny. Genuinely. What the fuck.

The statistic that a spider is always within 5 feet of you is false. Jonathan Sims, who has One Million Spiders within 5 feet of him at all times, is an outlier and should not be counted.

no bc anybody who says that jon sims turned out to be like this (an asshole, introvert, stiff, with the need to act unecessarly professional etc. )bc his grandma was overly condesending and/or neglectfull has never met ANYBODY raised by their grandparents. they just... are like this. its hard to adjust and honestly thats why i could never hate jon for his assholery in season 1 bc i know how it feels, being like that. trying to reprogram ur mind to be normal with ur peers, to accept that these people dont expect u to stand straight and speak and so u should stop excepting them to do so too.

like i just know he had to hammer it in his head that "no, my coworkers arent laughing bc of their lack of discepline and respect for me, tim just made a dick joke and i should find it funny aswell". most grandparents raise their grandkids to be neat and better than everyone. and once that child gets the power to actually use all skills their grandparents taght the, academic knowledge and life advice, its obvious they will fight for what they see as hard earned respect. like jonathan sims might have whole had 9 years to adjust to interacting with people without his grandmas infulence but he was never had power the position of the head archivist offered and honestly? with how everybody was treatin him in the later seasons (and he acted like he was used to it) that reach for power in season 1 was a well deserved break from the usual. bc i am sure that younger jon was the weakling,never to be respected or feared. and his grandma,like any grandma, raised him with the promise he would be great one day. and she was right.

like i love my grandma but the constant piting me against other kids assasinted any type of humbleness within me at the ripe age of 8
