5. What is the perfect environment for you to write in?

No one is in the house, my iPad is charged up, I am relaxed and not ramped up over work. The cats are not being idiots. I have something I NEED to get out.

I try to have a variety of creative things to rotate through. Writing is just one.

7. Which part of writing do you struggle with most?

Really? Just getting started. Finding a block of time where I can go get lost in my little universe for a bit. Sometimes that means rereading where I was, too.

10. Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most?

DIALOGUE. I love dialogue. I eavesdrop on strangers all the time and take notes on how people actually talk to each other.

I should probably write more exposition. Plot just happens.

I skipped a couple of docs, tbh, because some are just there because I don't want to delete them. Others are outlines for long fics I'm not enthusiastic enough about to dedicate a year or more to it and some are waiting for a prompt week or an event to rise from the dead.

Fic Stats Meme

Thank you both for the tags, @wanderingnightingale and @aquaticpal! I've been pretty quiet on tumblr lately, so I appreciate that you both thought of me 🥹 🥰

Most hits Before and After [E], this is a post-botw/pre-totk story from Link's perspective. Zelda's flirty behavior suggests they'd had some kind of relationship pre-Calamity, but the nature of their relationship is unclear 👀 Link begins to have vivid dreams of pre-calamity memories that start to fill in the gaps. The story explores Link's memory and sense of self. I think the last few chapters I've posted start to do some interesting things with this exploration. This is my longest fic: it's 164,668 words and 30 chapters so far with ~6 more planned. I've been posting since October 2019, wowie!

Second most kudos Assertive [E] Oh, it surprised me that this is my second most kudos'd fic. This was the third fic I ever posted! It's technically a sequel to another fic called "Progression", but it can be read as a standalone as well. "Assertive" is pure smut. In this fic, Zelda gets hot and bothered when Link is assertive in a royal council meeting. Things... happen... lol

Third most comments Farore's Day on Windvane Lane [T] This story was inspired by a real life, comical encounter that occurred on Thanksgiving Day. The whole story made me wonder, "Can I make this Zelink?" Answer: yes! This is a modern AU where Zelda is a single mother and Link's neighbor. During the Farore's Day holiday, she knocks on his door asking for help with something for her own holiday meal. Sparks fly in a cozy holiday setting!

Fourth most bookmarks Asymmetry [T] This is a oneshot set just post-Calamity. The very first night after defeating the Calamity Link is flirty with Zelda, but as soon as the two of them arrive in Kakariko, Link's behavior changes. He becomes unreadable and withdrawn, hardly speaking with Zelda. She, of course, finds herself confused and frustrated. Something happens that forces them to finally talk and the truth of Link's distance finally comes out. Fluffy, young love in this story :)

Fifth most words Under the Surface [M] Oh, this one has a special place in my heart. This is a oneshot set post-Calamity. Zelda finds herself disappointed at how little Link remembers despite all his efforts to get his memories. A barrier goes up between them, causing their dynamic to be tense. Eventually, that barrier begins to come down and a breakthrough moment occurs when Link pulls Zelda into the woods to show her a cicada shell.

Least words composing our future [G] @ravenmist4 started this fic where Zelda writes a letter to Link! Raven asked if anyone wanted to collaborate and I jumped in :D I found Raven's letter written by Zelda to be so compelling and sweet that I couldn't help but think about what Link's own letters would be.

oh that'll be naruto. I was in middle school/early high school, and they have all been scrubbed from the internet. I think. I'll have to check my ff.net account.

5. What is the perfect environment for you to write in?

shoved in the corner on my bed or sitting on the couch with noise cancelling headphones on. sometimes the song that inspired a scene on repeat.

6. If you’re really concentrating, how many words can you write in a day?

oh my gosh.....if I really put my head down I guess I can do like.....5k or more? like the last time I had that good, good focus it was when I wrote part two of green and growing things. finished the latter half of it in one sitting if I remember right.

3. a character that fandom has helped you appreciate

Actually, you’re gonna laugh, but Ganondorf. I rolled into Zelda a year after BOTW came out and I had zero knowledge of the series before. After a few rough starts, I stumbled into a small server where there were several people who deeply loved the games and listening to them encouraged me to think more deeply beyond the black and white of the game.im glad because it’s such a rich place.

8. you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)

I would really, really love it if Zelda fans would appreciate other fans. Like…this could be a great community but there are far too many people policing what other people do, or feel you can only enjoy things a particular way and…this fandom is such a flexible sandbox to play in and it would be great if people stopped chasing other people out over dumb stuff.

Like. The Zelda cosplay community is great! Cosplayers can be really dramatic! I have never had another cosplayer come at me the way I’ve had people come at me for stupid bullshit outside that community.

10. a blog (mutual or one you follow) that has made your fandom experience brighter

This one was tough because most of the people i immediately thought of I interact with on other places. But @spicychestnut was a great follow for me early on when they were still writing a lot of Zelda stuff. I ate it up, and they were friendly, though I really didn’t spark a friendship over it.
