THE FEALTY OF MONSTERS Volume 1
Copies to be shipped within the U.S. are available again! The price including shipping and a physical copy of the book signed by me and @t-hornapple plus free digital files included
Winter 1917. After years on the run from a dangerous cult, twenty-three-year-old Sasza and his father have established themselves among the Odonic Empire’s ruling class. But there’s a problem: Sasza is a vampire, and vampires aren’t supposed to get involved in human governance. What the aristocracy doesn’t know, after all, cannot hurt them. Unfortunately, Sasza is far more involved than a stealth vampire should be. Not only does he work to quell the rumors of the vampires’ responsibility for an unsolved massacre, his lover is also the pro-proletariat Ilya, the Empire’s Finance Minister, who tries to recruit Sasza into the same cult hunting him. Then—the Emperor declares war against the Vampire States. Diplomacy has failed. Sasza quickly learns that he will do anything to preserve peace–including giving in to the monstrosity he spent so many years concealing from even himself.

Since SPFBO #10 is kicking things off during Pride Month, some of the queer authors with at least one queer PoV character in their book or series put together a promotion of all our books. Eyrie was in SPFBO #7 (and Glenn's Dragon Source was in #6). If you're looking for indie (self-published or independent press) queer books by queer authors, check it out =]

[ID: a banner against a purple and orange rural landscape. The text in the center says "TBRCon Jan. 21-28, 2024, SPFBO 9 Finalists, Mon, Jan 22 @ 3pm CST/4pm EST #TBRCON2024." Around the text are circular portraits of the 10 authors in the panel. End ID]
Come watch me in TBRCon's SPFBO 9 Finalists Panel today!
A Rival Most Vial is a SPFBO finalist this year, which means I get to be on TBRCon's virtual panel with the other finalists!
We'll be talking about books, muppets, probably our pets if my cat deigns to make an appearance, and we'll be taking questions from the audience!
(I'm a little nervous about it, so it would mean a lot if you came and said hey! I'd love to have some Tumblr friends there! 💕💕)
You can join the fun today, Jan 22, at 3pm CST/4pm EST here: https://youtube.com/live/MZkqYOfRuBs?feature=share

Review of The Thirteenth Hour, Book 1 of The Cruel Gods
Blurb WHEN THE SAINTS FAIL, THE SINNERS STEP UP. Cruel gods rule the steam-powered city of Chime, demanding worship and tribute from their mortal subjects. Huzzah! This is a great weekend if you want to fill up your e-reader with fun genre novels - including my own frothy Regency rom-com, Scales and Sensibility.
First, the SPFBO Finalist Sale is collecting finalists from several years of the SPFBO competition for best self-published fantasy novel, all of them on sale this weekend for just 99c.
And for not only fantasy-lovers but also science fiction and horror fans, you can find all three genres in the Indie Narratess Sale (where most books are 99c/99p but some are also free).
Enjoy!

In this world, doubt means death.
Being different means death.
Disagreeing with those how hold power means death.

The political intrigue of Fire Emblem Three Houses (Black Eagles route) meets the sanguineous gothic atmosphere of Bloodborne
I had so much fun writing the different ways blood can taste and how not all of hematophagy is created equal

SPFBOX Kickoff and Promos
Woohoo! Look! Deals and Sales!
I put Elemental on sale for SPFBO/Pride for a week. So, grab it off of Amazon, and stuff your Kindle with a few other deals while you're at it. Or, y'know, all my stuff is still available on KU if you do the whole subscription to KU thing. (I don't. My TBR list is trying to kill me already. I'm so far behind...)
Anywho, I love you guys. I want you to find good books. Even if you don't like my books, check out the others and give them a shot. For the love of books and supporting indie authors.

Today our judges review Ryan Kirk's The Last Fang of God for this year's Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (SPFBO) finals! 🐉
"[The] gritty, dark world with cruel gods who dictate the acts of humans, while still being pitiful as heck, and almost as demanding as the landscape, was well done."

OMG SPFBO
#SPFBO #HiddenWorlds #writing
Howdy howdy, squiders! How are you? The big news of the week is SPFBO (Self Published Fantasy Blog Off), which is a year-long competition. 300 fantasy books go in, 10 finalists are selected, and 1 book wins (and some of those have gone on to receive traditional book deals because of the competition). I’ve been aware of it for, oh, eight years, I want to say? I think I originally found it about…
