Yo! Got a question not involving your comic, but rather any possible inspirations to your comic. Do you have any recommendations for fan comics that you personally read that may have influenced you into making your own?

probably a boring answer but i was of course mainly inspired by GOTF (made by evan stanley) to start my own comic

since i've started thoam, there's been a rise of other sonic comics :D

my favourite is @spfaucomic the layouts and colors are just soooo gooood ;_; very inspiring!!!

another one that recently started thats cool is 1763, a comic about silver

im a little behind but ive enjoyed looking at scourge eternal blackout!

I bet you could still make him evil tho with an added depressing backstory to boot and it would still be Sonic. Like make him cocky or make him innocent, either one works! All you need to do to make him not so evil is to make him think he’s doing the right thing, that’s what the depressing backstory is for! Look at @spfaucomic as a fantastic example!

i love how sonic is so easily maleable into whatever you want honestly. his character is vague enough to have 2 wildly different interpretations that still feel they could be canon. high school au, he can be a loser that only his friends like. high school au, he can be popular and everyone loves him. he can be aroace or panromantic pansexual with the largest romantic/sex drive known to man. he can be both at the same time. he can be neither. he's a ball of clay. just dont make him oppressive, evil or neurotypical and youve probably got a convincing interpretation of sonic.

Where do you usually find sonic fancomics to read? I'd like to read more of them but I only know a couple. Also, are you open to recommendations

Usually they just show up on my dashboard especially since I follow tags :0 you’d have to actually search for “sonic fan comic” if you want to find any!

no. No listen. I get you 100%. I tried so hard to make an actual story comic like Cass Apocaylptic Au or Tapakah’s L.O.V.E. BUT I COULDN’T. GET ANYTHING. DONE. I wasn’t even doing proper shading or anything, it was just a plain old grayscale comic with improper backgrounds! BRO I DIDN’T EVEN DO THE PANELS CORRECTLY

So in a way I get you. I see all these comic pages that people upload once or twice a week and I am promptly HUMBLED AND FLOORED by how beautiful and expertly done each page is. Huge shout out to these people for managing to get their shit together and get their comics done because oh my gosh that’s a lot of work:

have been struck with the comic urge™ the past few days and. I have SO MUCH respect for people who do weekly comic updates now. Or even twice a week sometimes. I'm literally so shocked I've been stuck doing like 7 panels for like a good 3-4 days

Could just be because I'm overcomplicating it with stuff like shading and actual backgrounds but y'know
