Josslyn Silva
“Fuck absolutely everything.”
Josslyn Zera Silva Ideale is the first child/daughter of Zora and Nebra. A member of the soaring eagle family, House Silva and serves her country as a second class senior magic knight in the Purple Orcas squad.
Josslyn is the verified named of “Jocelyn” coming from the old German meaning “member of the Gauts tribe” or in the Latin meaning “happy and Joyful”
Title(s)
The flaming Sakura of House Silva.
Personal Information
Status: Alive
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Affinity: Steam Magic
Age: 15
Birthday: October 22nd
Constellation: Scorpio
Height: 156cm
Blood type: B
Eyes: Mint Green
Hair: Pink
Affiliation
Occupation: Magic knight
Squad: Purple Orcas
Country: Clover kingdom
Appearance
The majority of her Cherry blossom pink hair is tied up in a high ponytail, though the parts that weren’t tied up was at the front, one either side spilling down her shoulders and of course cannot forget her wispy bangs. The same mint green eyes her grandfather wore. The colour of her hair was in a cheery blossom shade, alongside highlights that was in a more lighter tone. Under the purple orcas robe she did appear to be wearing a sleeveless pink dress that extended from her neck to her upper thigh. The dress had a silver brim around it and at the bottom is a silver trip. A metal silver guard, wrapping her stomach and between her breasts, edging the top, the details included tritons trident, seashells and three leaf clovers on the side. Over her left arm is a black sachel to carry her grimoire. On her right arm she has a sleeve from her lower limb that covers the entirety of the arm, the colours match the pink and silver tones, also including a some what thorn vine wrapped at the top. Below her dress are two thigh length shoes without any heel, pink mostly the majority colour and one noticeable silver threat going vertically in the middle with more silver designs on the bottom and top.
Childhood
Josslyn grew up as a happy girl who would always do anything with a smile. Constantly under the spotlight as a child most people were fascinated of how she excelled into the royal life, she would always get along with everybody, even the king. Though a traumatized event happened when Josslyn was about seven causing her to lose self control and be sent to a wealthy reform school for two years. After her two year exile she came back as a stubborn, grumpy women always glaring at somebody or rolling her eyes at Nozel. Even after declining every offer except for the Purple Orcas squad which turned many authority heads, including their captain. Joining the squad her merits was flying off the charts to the point where she was ranked to senior magic knight rank 2, below title of vice captain which should of been given to her but due to her rotten attitude.
Personality
Josslyn may be described as a beautiful woman to all but her beauty doesn’t reflect her personality. Josslyn definitely reflects her father more than her mother. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and put anyone in their place, her reputation and social status is the least of her concerns, though she can never keep her cool and always bursts sooner than expected.
Battle powers
Magic
Steam magic: Jossyln uses this magic attribute to generate and manipulate all gases in general.
Enhance Trap magic: Combined with her Royal mana, Josslyn Silva has taken trap magic to a new level by creating traps in all shapes and sizes as well as the sustainability and the wavelength of a basic trap, as well as laying a trap over another.
Abilities
Enduranced Durability: From six years of solid training Josslyn has endured multiple attacks at once, even a blow from one of Haskell’s Silva’s star based spells.
Immense magic power: Considering Josslyn is a child of a royal and a peasant, she has shown impressive levels of pure magic power.
Enhanced speed: In brawls between Josslyn and Hikari, Hikari has clearly noted that Josslyn can dodge any spell that could restrain her.
Keen intelligence: With the teachings of Kisrch Vermillion, Josslyn can study mana fields without a doubt in a blink of an eye, by studying people’s mana she can tell by how they moved their bodies and reaction to tell if they are a healing, attack, defensive or an all rounded mage. Another example would be reading the traps Zora sets up around the castle, simply by walking she could tell where a trap could be hiding and often warns people about the traps if she feels nice enough.

Hello everyone! Here is the updated version of the WITCH TYPES list, including types that were missed and recommended. Please be respectful if there is some form of misinformation or typo on here; I tried my verybest and took a lot of my own time and energy to do as thorough research as I could with what I have available, which is a very difficult and long task for somebody with low motivation. I am very in favor of constructive and polite criticism, but I will not tolerate people leaving rude comments without even trying to help me fix and provide the best information possible! Thank you so much to everyone who so kindly informed me of what needed to be polished up and fixed, you are all very lovely people for handling it with patience ~ And keep in mind, beginner witches:
You do not NEED to identify yourself as a type
You can choose to identify yourself as NO type at all
You can choose to identify with as many as you like!
Anyway, enjoy! ➺ Rainy
Each type includes a simplified description (for those who haven’t heard of the type, just to get a generalized idea. The shortened description is in no way meant to be discriminative or disrespectful), a few examples, and almost every bolded term includes a link to a (hand-picked) useful post/website for that type of practice.
Types of Witches
(Some may also fit into the second category)
∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆
Solitary - Practicing by ones’ self; not included in a group
Secular - Non-religious / Not connecting with deity(s)
Eclectic - An individual’s practice that has bits and pieces pulled from different magickal and/or spiritual practices, respectfully
(Theistic) Satanic - Witchcraft that is often centered around honoring and/or working with satan in spellwork and prayer
Athiest/Laveyan Satanic - Witchcraft worked with the idea that satan is a concept, rather than a real person or entity (loosely put; it’s a very detailed concept). Also known as Satanic witches who fit the secular description.
Hereditary/Blood - Including oneself in the practice of witchcraft on the grounds of having been born into a family who also practices. Knowledge and practice may also be passed down through generations, and honor old ways of magick
Traditional - One who practices witchcraft by honoring and using old and ‘traditional’ ways of magick; this type of witch might be one to practice modern methods of magick, but they might also stick to traditional concepts or techniques
Christian - Witchcraft that is performed to honor / or is performed in conjunction with the Christian God as the primary and only deity
Hellenic - A form of non-witchcraft practice in which the practicer follows Greek ideals/culture and honors the Greek pantheon
Celtic - Magickal practice that is based from the Celtic culture, including its’ mythology, deities, old ways, and (occasionally) language / symbols. May also describe those who only worship Celtic gods
Science - A form of magick in which both metaphysical ideas and scientific facts/theories are mixed in together by the individual practicer
Types of Witchcraft
Keep in mind that each term’s explaination is the basic description of that type of witchcraft/magick; each individual witch might be a certain type but define it differently, as their practice may be different from the next witch
∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆
Green - Utilizing greenery/plants/herbs/flowers in herbal and natural magick, such as creating blends of different plants or using primarily herbs in spellwork
Hedge - Also known as an astral title, a type of magick that is oriented around more spiritual work; astral travel/projection, lucid dreaming, spirit-work, healing, and out-of-body experiences are all practices included in this magick
Dream - (A possible variation of Hedge) Mindful and internal magickal practice mainly based from interpreting dreams and/or engaging in lucid dreaming. Those who intensify as this may “de-code” symbols and messages in the dream world similar to how one would use a divination technique.
Sea - A type of magick derived from materials and abstract ideas involving the ocean and oceanic world. Sea/Ocean magick can be worked using seashells and bones, sea weed, beach sand, driftwood, ocean water, etc. and a sea witch might draw their energy from that of the sea!
Storm/Weather - Magick that is worked by combining one’s energy with the energy of the weather, and most commonly rain. Weather witches will do things like collect rain/snow water, absorb the energy of a lightning storm, “whistle up” or manipulate wind, predict the weather, etc.
Cottage / Hearth - (A slight variation from kitchen) Magick that is weaved, worked, or embued into mundane tasks around the house or for loved ones. Cottage/Hearth magick may be worked into daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, or any hobbies

Tea - Those who drink tea, make tea, use tea-leaf divination, or enjoy blending herbal remedies! A variant of Kitchen/Cottage witch
Tech - Magick that is skillfully worked through technology! A tech witch will most likely have at least a few magickal apps on their phone, digital sigils, or an online/digital BoS and/or Grimoire
Garden - While having a garden and/or working in any type of garden; magick that is mostly (if not all) herbal and botanical-related! Garden witches take pride and find it calming or invigorating to work the earth, harvest that which they have planted, and are closely related to Green type
Elemental - Magick that is worked by honoring/acknowledging the 4 or all 5 elements: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, and Spirit. Commonly an Elementalist will dedicate different areas of their altars to each element, call upon them during spells and rituals, and use symbols to represent each
Water - Specifically centered on the element of Water; water scrying, collecting sea/storm/snow/river/spring water, swimming/bath spells and other water-related actives, creating and using symbols associated with water
Earth - Specifically centered on the element of Earth; grounding exercises, rock/soil collecting, strong appreciation of the natural world, creating and using symbols associated with earth
Air - Specifically centered on the element of Air; working with wind, using air-related tools (such as the wand), creating and using symbols associated with air
Fire - Specifically centered on the element of Fire; Using anything fire-related (bonfires, candles, burning objects) in most spellwork, creating and using symbols associated with fire
Flora - Much like a Green or Garden witch, those who work majorily with floral materials and flowers in their practice and in their spellwork! Their grimoire may be heavily associated with flowers rather than herbs, and likewise, one might use flower properties in spell or craft work.
Urban Primative/City - For those who live or prefer the urban/city lifestyle; magick that can be worked without the seemingly “traditional” ways of witchcraft
Faery/Fey - Magick for those who communicate and work with the fey during spells and rituals. Usually, those who work with the fey may also leave offerings regularly, as thanks for the assistance of a faery in their spellwork.
Spirit Working - A practice in which the person will perform spellwork in conjunction with or with the help of any manner of spirit. This includes Ouija, (sometimes) demon spirits, spiritual contact, etc.
Draconian - Refers to type of magick for those who call upon or work with dragons and dragon imagery in their practice; whether it be through astral matters or in spells and rituals

Embroidery / Sewing / Knit - One who embues magick into household “stitching” or “string” hobbies such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, stringing, and knotting ~ Basically, one who identifies with using knot or chord magick in many different skills
Paper - Magick that is worked with, essentially, paper! Burning paper written with sigils, chants, symbols or spells, creating magickal offerings, items, or sachels from paper, etc.
Music - Magick that is worked with music, musical chimes, or rhythm! Humming/singing, clapping, singing chants during spells, playing instruments (even simple ones, like the triangle or bells), or even just simply playing music during spellwork, magick, or during energy exercises are a few common things a music witch might fancy
Chaos/Chaotic - A type of magick utilizing new, non-traditional, and unorthodox methods. It is a new and highly individualistic practice, while still drawing from other common forms of magick.
Animal - (A variant of Green) Magick that is strongly tied to the animal kingdom, which includes a deep appreciation for all animals, and most often: usage of animal materials in spellwork. An animal witch will most likely be one who loves animals, a person who animals are immediently “drawn” to, and those who appreciate the natural world. Some animal witches might also use bones, wings, feathers, fur, skin, scales, (etc). from deceased animals in their magick, if they choose to do so.
Sanguine - Meaning “blood” or “blood red color” in Latin, a type of magick that deals with blood or other life giving fluid; life blood can also be represented through things such as water, or nutrients. A term for those who work with blood and life-oriented magick!
Sigil - A witchcraft working majorly with sigils, and the intent that can be put into them to active their power
Art/Craft - Witchcraft that can be worked through arts and crafts, simply put! One may embue macgick in creative activities such as painting, drawing, building, cutting, creating, etc.
Grey - A neutral witch, who practices magick that neither benefits or harms others. Grey magick may also both harm and benefit at the same time, balancing and neutralizing.

Mindful
Thanks to my current ‘biggest fan’ on this blog - @nuckton for the lovely prompt - Widomauk - sci-fi AU. It’s out of my usual wheelhouse, so I hope I did the prompt justice- Enjoy!
“I need to speak to a human, it is of paramount importance, and I know you have at least one on this ship.” Gaudily dressed, even for this planet, Mollymauk Tealeaf drummed fingers on his sleeve, crossed arms brokering no argument. “I am an ambassador to this planet from Terra, and I have need of a human to assist me. As is my right by decree of the Concord, I claim whomever the highest ranking human is within this ship as an associate of my delegation.” The guard raised an eyebrow, and turned to their companion, speaking in a language Molly assumed to be orcish. “It would behoove you to move quickly. My bodyguard will not hesitate.” Beside him, Fjord twitched perceptively, fingers moving to summon some eldritch energy to his palm.
The guard narrowed their eyes, and grunted to the other, sending them into the docked spaceship. “We have only one ranked officer that is also human within this ship - he was trained by the Archmage of the Dwendallian Empire of Terra. The captain will not release him from service lightly.”
Fjord stepped forward, energy still sparking along his palm as he spoke, inspecting his nails absently. “His Grace the Ambassador does not care about the minor opinions of a meager ship captain. You can find another arcane caster, and we will pay a stipend for the trouble.” On Molly’s other side, Jester handed Beau a small sachel of coin, along with five other coins that glinted in the dock’s fluorescent lighting. “Hey, friend, or the captain’s trouble, and for yours.” she said, handing over first the pouch, and then the other coins. A bruske nod from the guard while he eyed Yasha with apprehension, and the party waited. Ten agonizing minutes later, a human was escorted to the walkway off the ship. Flanked by the absent guard, and a well decorated formally dressed woman that Molly assumed to be the captain, the three disembarked, coming to stand a scant twenty feet from them. “So, you come to claim one of my crew? Under the law of Terra and the orders of whom?” “Tech-nic-ally,” Jester drew out the first word as though admonishing the Captain for misunderstanding their intent, “under the law of the Dwendallian Empire, on behalf of Terra, under direct orders of the Clovis Concord, to establish trade agreements.” Brandishing a thick piece of  what looked like velum that held fancy calligraphy where words could be seen, she smiled. “You will find everything in order should you like to check.”
The captain paled perceptively, shooting a glare at the guard who had fetched them, and pressing the arcane practitioner forward a step or two. “Have him. This is the Mage Caleb Widogast, of Terra, from the Dwendalian Empire.” Turning to the auburn man, she muttered through clenched teeth. “I will have your belongings brought out in a moment.” Caleb nodded, stood back from the captain another step, and bowed briefly. “At your will, captain.” A sneer crawled across her face. “It’s not my will, Arcanist, it’s the fucking concord’s. Consider this-” she jammed the sachel of coin that the guard was trying to pass her at him. “Your remaining wages from this journey.” Caleb, meanwhile, was shaking - not with rage, but with fear. This was new, new and unfamiliar, and frightening. The ship had systems, standards, expectations for what his day would look like, and looking over the colorful assortment of individuals who had apparently just demanded his assistance, it looked like the only surety between them was utter chaos.
Caleb’s mind raced, taking in the new individuals; A Half Orc, two Tieflings, a large and imposing female humanoid who set his hackles up, a long and lanky male with pink hair and a kind of teal chitin armor. Movement behind the pink male made him blink just as a shrill voice entered his mind. “Caleb, don’t worry, you’re safe. You may not know us, but we know you. Just play along, I promise you’re safe. You-can-respond-to-this-message.” “Ah, well, Danke.” was all he managed to get out before he felt the magic dissipate, and was being approached by the two horned individuals, both with jewelry that caught the light in little glimmers, though the purple one was far more ostentatious than the other.
“He-llo Cay-leb!” The blue female sing-songed in a way that was both alien and familiar, as though he had heard the way of speaking before, but never known the face of who spoke. It made an itching in his mind, like a thought that tried to escape him. “Hello. I am at your command, Ambassador.” He bowed as he’d been taught to do, eyes to the ground, the picture of obedience. A strangled choking sound reached his ears, and when he looked up, he saw the purple one had turned away, tail thrashing about in what Caleb’s mind told him was agitation or anger. What had he done? The half orc stepped forward to address the confusion the Human was feeling. “It’s not your fault, friend. We’ll explain in a bit.” Ten minutes later, all of Caleb’s possessions were in the obnoxiously pink bag that the blue tiefling carried, with the exception of Frumpkin, who was currently in his pocket dimension.
“Where are we going, if I may ask, Ambassador?” Tail thrashing back and forth with each step, the gaudily dressed male called back to him, barely turning. “A tavern. I need a drink, and you will too, once we’re in private.” Mind whirling with possibilities, Caleb followed the group to a fairly nice tavern, certainly better than anything he’d have purchased personally, but not the fanciest place this planet had to offer. Upon entering, ordering a round of drinks brought up to the rooms that they’d previously secured, and making their way upstairs, Caleb found himself sat at a low table in a sort of common area that held four bedrooms off of it, fairly private from what he could tell, though he didn’t want to start casting to double check unless given permission. The tall individual, Duce as the rest called him, dropped an illusion as they entered and cracked his neck. “It’s not like I’m physically changed, but those illusions make me feel so cramped. Jester, let’s check the place over one more time, just in case.” The blue tiefling, Jester, cast some sort of magic that Caleb realized was divine along with Duce, and then scanned the room. “All clear, we should be fine.” The half orc and the small one, who Caleb realized was a female goblin, were busy over some sort of device made of a combination of technology and arcane energy. Setting it up behind the closed door, and pressing a button, Caleb felt the magic he had trained to harness just… melt away from him, still there, but out of reach. Suppressing his mounting panic at being in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people, where they just suppressed his magical abilities, Caleb stood, and began to pace in small bursts, trying to not let his discomfort show. Drinks brought, and everyone sprawled around the table, the party looked to one another, before the half orc gestured to Duce. “Mister Caleb, would you mind me doing something? Or me and Jester doing something? We think you have magic on you that doesn’t seem good, and we’d like to take it off.” “Do… do I have a choice?”
The varied answers were not comforting, ranging from a “No!” from the goblin and the human female beside her, a drawn out “Well-” from Jester, an “I would imagine so,” from Duce, nothing from the half orc or the woman that Caleb now realized was of celestial blood, and silence from the nearly garish purple individual that Caleb still only knew as ‘The Ambassador’. “Mister Mollymauk?” Duce’s voice was soft and coaxing. Molly’s face was full of grief, tears streaming down his cheeks, red eyes pleading even as he said the words. “Of course you have a choice, Caleb.” “Then yes.” Caleb watched Mollymauk as the words passed his lips, his stomach twisting in distressed knots, telling him that he was the reason this beautiful individual wept. The tiefling’s tail stopped it’s rapid movement, and his voice was barely more than a hoarse whisper. “Really?” “Yes, do it.” There was a whirlwind of movement, as the goblin went over to the magical suppression device, Duce and Jester moved to either side of him, and the enormous assimar put a comforting hand on Mollymauk’s shoulder. The half orc and the human female watched intently, as the goblin disengaged the device, and Caleb felt his magic within his grasp once again. A split second later, the two clerics spoke, and Caleb felt his mind pulse as their spell hit a barrier he hadn’t known existed. Another casting, he could feel the strain they were under to break whatever shield existed in his mind, a third casting, and the barrier cracked. The fourth casting made the wall shatter, and Caleb felt his mind splinter into a thousand pieces, before a cool touch smoothed back his hair, and his understanding knit itself back together. Opening his eyes, everyone was watching him. The goblin, no… Nott. Nott, the Brave pressed the button once more, and the room’s magical aura was once more suppressed. Breath entered his lungs in a rush, making him realize he hadn’t had oxygen in several moments. Mollymauk - no… Molly. Molly was asking Caduceus and Jester if it’d worked, Beau, and Fjord, and Yasha were still silent, as he sat up. “Molly.” The name was out of his mouth, and the tiefling was across the table and in his arms. Memories flooded back to him as he comforted Molly, working backwards to when they’d last seen each other. The ship, working in the labs, being ill at the school, blankness, Trent Ikithon casting something on him. “How FUCKING DARE he take you from me?” Caleb wasn’t sure if the words had come from him, or from Molly, safely in his arms. “I will never let you go again.” “Please don’t.” “And I am going to destroy the Archmage.” “No darling, We are going to destroy the Archmage.”

Anyway Beau fucking hates the new wizards for like the first month or two. Also this gets rambly and fic-layout-y as hell. i am very tired and have a headache so bls forgive me
Beau hates both of these new Zemnian assholes to be entirely honest, but she’s willing to give them an iota of a chance after everything finally goes down and the immediate ramifications of turning the Empire’s greatest war mages/archmages into traitors are done with.
She’s absolutely not the only one that doesn’t trust them - fuck not even Caleb trusts them completely and he’s the reason they even bothered to defect in the first place. But the gang at this point is willing to put enough trust into them that they won’t just straight up slaughter them all in a heartbeat.
It doesn’t help that they’re both disgustingly proper.
Backs still ramrod straight, hands folded neatly in their lap or attentively behind their backs. They make eye contact with anyone who dares to speak no matter who it’s too. They’re attentive and quiet - and the nein can see them calculating scenarios and escape routes and weaknesses in their heads any time someone dares to move.
Eodwulf, to everyone’s benefit, seems to easily swap between the cold persona into one that’s a little too competent socially to not be forced and practiced to perfection over the years. He can easily hold a conversation with Fjord and Clay, even drawing laughter from Jester at his quips and playing along with her strange stories; Though not the ones about the Traveller.
(The first time she mentions him, things suddenly go horribly, terribly wrong. He doesn’t hurt her, of course, but they can feel the air change. He snaps into another personality entirely - disgusted and enraged at the concept that he’s sitting with a heretic of all people. It’s like something cruel has taken over him, drawing curses and cruelty from his lips that bring Jester to tears before anyone even fully realizes the situation. It’s not the first time it happens, but it startles everyone - Eodwulf included. Jester doesn’t receive an apology until much later, once Caleb pulls him away from the group and speaks to him quietly. No one cares to ask what was said - not until Jester grows curious a few days later and asks Wulf. Beauregard only barely overhears it - glaring daggers at the half elf all the same.
“He said that it was.... it was hard to relearn what should be - what is - acceptable. Hard to relearn what it is normal people see as being non-issues. It’s no excuse for my horrid behavior, but it is... difficult... to know after so long.”
Beauregard.... hates him a little less for that. He’s dangerous, and she keeps an eye on him, but it’s easier to remember that he’s not the first or only person who’s had these issues before. If she speaks to Caleb later about what to expect, it’s for the safety of the group - obviously. She needs to know what she needs to look out for so that she can swoop in and roundhouse kick a bitch in the throat if push comes to shove. But if she manages to catch the hints - the sudden stillness, the tightening of his jaw, the impulsive twitch of fingers as if readying a spell - she jumps in and distracts him with a flourish and desperate ease that would’ve made Molly proud. Eodwulf is easy to decipher once you know what the signs are.
Astrid, however, is not.
She radiates an air of authority that would make Beau sick if it wasn’t from a woman that was just so fucking hot. Where Eodwulf finds a place to integrate himself socially, Astrid sits back and watches from just far enough away that it’s obvious she’s not really part of the team.
It’s intentional - and she’s said as much to the rest when they ask her about it.
“I have little reason to trust that the lot of you won’t kill me tonight. I am fine here. Thank you.”
Beau can tell that Caleb is torn with this information. He’s been torn since the two of them arrived - all three of them have been desperately trying to figure out where they stand with each other in a way that The Nein would find hilarious if it wasn’t a rom-com script stitched together with trauma and guilt and all of the disgusting waste the empire had tried to shove down their throats.
Caleb and Eodwulf are the only two willing to approach her for conversation with positive results. Fjord had tried and given up after two weeks of clipped answers and obvious disinterest. Clay wanders over from time to time with his teapot and empty stories to try and ensure she doesn’t feel left out. She never drinks his tea - not even pretending to in the way that Clay often pretends to drink liquor - but he hardly seems to mind.
No one knows what it is that causes the outburst. One moment, they’re surrounding the fire, chatting aimlessly while Clay’s slow drawl acts as white noise in the background. Then the loud crash of ceramic shattering against the ground bring everyone to silence. Their eyes are drawn to the duo behind them, where Clay sits as calm as ever - his eyes only marginally wider to indicate the barest hint of shock. His teapot lay in pieces on the ground between them.
Astrid raises from her spot, cup still cradled in her hands before she deliberately allows that to slip and shatter on the ground as well.
“Oh, how unfortunate. Clumsy me.”
When she wanders off, it’s Eodwulf that followers behind her, with Caleb nervously trailing close behind.
Beauregard approaches Clay as he works from his place on the ground, carefully picking up shards of what used to be beautifully painted ceramic.
“It’s no issue, Ms Beauregard. Simply an oversight on my part - I must have upset her and not noticed. It can be fixed easily, no harm done.”
The three wizards return not 10 minutes later. Astrid is silent, as are Eodwulf and Caleb. There is no apology, no attempt to speak to her, only the same carefully blank expression that’s been on her face since the day they found her. Something about the simple lack of remorse or empathy makes Beau’s skin crawl.
Beauregard hates Astrid.
And she makes damn sure that she shows it.
Beauregard grants this woman none of the ‘pleasantries’ she gives her friends - drudging up every ounce of malice that she has and directing it solely towards this woman. Astrid is everything she hates wrapped into a package in just the right manner that she doesn’t want to tear her limb from limb immediately. She’s the embodiment of the empire, of everything wrong with it and what it does to people. She’s cruel and calculating and Beau can’t help but imagine how quickly and easily this woman could end all of their lives. Poison their food stores while she keeps a small sachel of her own rations close. How easy it would be for her to slip close enough to Caleb to slit his throat with a hiss of ‘traitor’ on her lips even after all he’s done to get them to safety.
She feels predictable and not all at once. It throws Beau for a loop when Astrid finally - finally - responds to her constsant prodding. Not with anger, but with a smile.
The woman is quick-witted and cold. Her words are like daggers being driven into every weak spot Beauregard has and it’s a show of power that drives her fucking insane with how easily the quips come to her. The only thing keeping The Mighty Nein from tearing them apart is the reactions that the fight seems to garner from Eodwulf and Caleb of all people.
The two of them are huddled together, muttering and chuckling in Zemnian. They commentate with small gasps and giggles and muttered ‘oh, sheisse’s that - through the anger and annoyance - remind Beau of the catty assholes she used to go to school with as a young girl. It doesn’t help that Astrid seems to feed off of their strange new relationship, and in the midst of it all Beauregard realizes something:
This, the woman that’s tearing into her with abandon and thriving off of the attention of her two best friends, the woman who’s catty and self-assured - not because she knows she has power and statusadn training - but because she knows she’s clever enough to out-shittalk someone, is the closest they’ve gotten to seeing who she is.
She’s not sure why she decided to keep it going after that. She found what she was looking for - a small note that Astrid wasn’t just some hollowed out war machine. Something that showed her that there was still a person in there. Hell, she found the tattered remains of Something in all three of them that she hardly expected.
But Astrid was quick to leave them again - back ramrod straight and shoulder squared. Face carefully neutral. Beau, in all of her horrible terrible no good very bad wisdom, continued the fight for as long as she could, as often as she could.
It was slow going, and every so often Astrid would fall completely silent and unresponsive to Beauregard’s jabs in a way that was uncomfortably familiar, but over time it didn’t even take Beau’s stupid attempts at fighting for Astrid to make quips and clever comments to other members of the team.
It felt like a miracle at that point.
As much as Beau wanted to continue hating Astrid after that point - as much as she wanted to still hold that bone-deep distrust that made sure she had a hand around her staff any time either of those fuckers get closer to one of her friends, she found that she couldn’t. Not really. They were doing better, and if she ever admitted to the fact that she was a little bit proud and a little bit protective of them at this point, she would have to throw herself off a cliff or something.
They were the ghosts of people, slowly but surely remembering who they could have been if everything hadn’t gone so fucking horribly. If she noticed the way that Caleb’s nervous half-smiles turned into stupid childish grins any time Eodwulf or Astrid said anything in Zemnian, or if she noticed how they slowly started to lay their bedrolls out next to each other with less and less space between them each night - that’s not her fuckin problem. That’s not her bullshit garbage ‘friends-to-lovers’ ‘hurt/comfort’ drama novel plot, and she could frankly care less so long as it was a decision that they got to make themselves.

Prosperity is mine
A prosperity spell for advancing in a job you have been working your butt off for for too long and you 100% believe you deserve the spot.
In my case, I was stuck between a shift lead and an assistant manager position and I had been trying for the assistant manager position for over 6 months, after being promised the spot multiple times and nothing was happening I decided to put together a spell to help it along. 2 months later I actually was given a General Manager spot.
NOTE: this spell is unique to me and my needs. I did my research and thought about this for some time before acting. If you try this spell it might not work for you as it is. You can modify this spell as you need to fit your unique situation.

Types of Witches
Credit to  rainy-day-witchcraft for the original post
Keep in mind, beginner witches:
You do not NEED to identify yourself as a type
You can choose to identify yourself as NO type at all
You can choose to identify with as many as you like!
Each type includes a simplified description (for those who haven’t heard of the type, just to get a generalized idea. The shortened description is in no way meant to be discriminative or disrespectful), a few examples, and almost every bolded term includes a link to a useful post/website for that type of practice.

Elonth Worldbuilding | < Illusions | Experiments >
This is another narrative piece set in my world, Elonth. Mar deals with some of the aftermath of his training session with Irikshan.
Featured image by @elektronx .
1559 Words
Water. It is both powerful and strong, or it can be calm and gentle. It gives life but also takes that away. Going wherever gravity takes it in one form, then rising into the sky - defying gravity - in another. Whoever consumes it dies, but without it, you would meet a much swifter end.
Mar mused about these thoughts, as he idly tried to distract his troubled mind. Yet, as was the way of these things, his mind kept returning to dwell on his troubles. As he bathed in the energy abundant in the thunderous waterfall, drained both physically and mentally from his ‘visit’ to Irikshan’s office, Mar once again pondered his situation.
He was in the main Mage College building, curving in a graceful arc around the immense waterfall. It was anchored in the cliffsides and supported by pillars driven deep into the shores and riverbed below. This feat of architecture would not have been possible with the mundane construction techniques that the humans used - this took the research, skills and abilities of many craftsdragons.
The room he was in was one of the "feeding halls". Lacking in two walls, the room was exposed to a torrent of energy, supplied by the great falls. Dragons came here to absorb energy, and also human mages to some extent. However, their bodies were far less suited to chemically storing absorbed energy, nor did they naturally hold shiridite crystals in their chests.
Irikshan had told him to continue tomorrow with normal classes until he was contacted again, but that he had excused Mar from his tutor sessions and lectures for today. While that was nice, Mar was now uncertain of what to do with himself.
He wished he were a master mage - that he could control his power and that he could achieve something with it. He wasn’t sure whether it made him feel better or worse for the fact that Irikshan didn’t seem to know what exactly Mar’s power was either.
Trying to distract himself again, he mentally reached out to the cascading water, consuming some of its ample energy. He imagined himself joining the water, flowing down the river free from life's worries and burdens.
There was a slight brush against his mind, the customary polite way to interrupt another dragon’s feeding. He returned to reality to find a mid-aged dragoness awaiting his attention.
“Sterkvleuel?”
“Yes?”
“I’m Tir Hernsha. My department works with nullifications and countermagics.”
“Ah, I saw your head of department at a meeting with Irikshan earlier. She said that I’d be starting regular lessons with one of her tutors.”
“Yes. Rentik assigned you to me. I just wanted to check if you needed help with anything before our lesson tomorrow. Your… condition concerned me. If you wish, I could provide you with a block so that you can sleep soundly tonight.” She reached into a sachet around her shoulder and startled Mar by simply vanishing. He could still see her, but Mar could no longer feel the presence of her mind. She brought a pendant out of the sachel. “Rentik has already placed a blocking enchantment on this and loaded the shiridite crystal with energy to sustain it. The enchantment will provide a full block.” She placed it on the thick railing at the open edge of the room. As soon as contact between her claws and the chain was lost, her mind reappeared.
Mar pondered the offer for a while. Having a block would mean that he wouldn’t have to worry about ending up in some illusory world tonight - unless it was somehow powerful enough to drain the block’s energy. However, his magic being blocked would strip him of even his ability to sense others around him. It would be akin to putting on a blindfold...
For some reason he also didn’t feel comfortable that more and more people were learning about his ability. Nor that it was now being called a condition.
“Pardon the intrusion, but I can tell it’s making you uncomfortable. I shall spend time with you in our session tomorrow to endeavour to create a more... custom-tailored block.” She put the pendant away. “And, like it or not, it’s impossible to keep rumours of new magical discoveries from floating around in an institute of mages. I called it a condition because you don’t yet have control of it, forgive the terminology.”
“Wha- I th-”
“No, you’re not protecting your mind properly right now. You are strained and tired. I’ve trained my mind to be particularly sensitive. Thus, even though I’m not trying to, I can hear your top-level thoughts. Others might not be so courteous. I recommend you head straight home and get some sleep.”
“I understand. I’ll take the block, please. Thank you, ma’am.”
He reached out and grabbed the pendant from the balustrade. He blinked and looked around as the whole world suddenly became muffled. He wondered if this was what it felt like to be a normal human, well at least to have the blinkered mind of a human.
“Go and rest up, Sterkvleuel.”
“Yes, ma’am. Good afternoon.”
“Goodbye.”
Josh clung onto the serving dish sized container on his lap as the tram made another stop to pick up people for the evening commute.
He was worried about Mar, the exhaustion written all over his face when he left that meeting earlier. He felt bad that he could not spend time with his friend, but Irikshan and the council had wanted to speak with him right after Mar left. They asked countless questions which they surely knew the answers to, yet they still asked. It would have been rude to do anything but answer, and it is not wise to disrespect dragons who’ve lived since before your great-grandparents were born. At least Mistress Rentik was kind enough to tell him after the meeting that Mar was safely home.
“Next stop, Watervalwacht Aeries,” announced an automated voice three times. Josh stood up and pressed a button on one of the poles in the centre of the carriage to indicate he’d like to disembark. This earned him a couple stares.
A few minutes later the tram began to slow, almost throwing Josh and the container off balance. Josh was the only one to disembark here, but that was not surprising. This was an apartment complex for young dragons.
Josh headed to Mar’s apartment, thankful that the architects were thoughtful enough to put a couple stairwells to access the different floors. Reaching the keypad and door handle on Mar's door also proved to be doable.
Once inside, Josh stretched his mind out into the apartment to locate Mar but surprisingly did not find him.
“Mar?” Josh called softly, the emptiness suddenly feeling particularly eerie. He took off his shoes and left the dish by the door before creeping around the house. He didn’t find a soul until he reached the bedroom, where he heard heavy breathing. Mentally probing the room on the other side of the drawn curtain, he felt nothing. He cautiously lifted the corner of the curtain to find Mar spreadeagled on a dragon-sized pillow.
He briefly relaxed, before panicking. He could not sense Mar’s mind. “Mar! Oh no, has it happened again?!”
A gruff snort of a dragon who’s on the verge of waking and the tinkling of a chain - its weighted charge falling into view - were enough for Josh to put two and two together. He tiptoed closer to Mar and gingerly inspected the crystal’s enchantments and found a powerful blocking spell. Somewhat worryingly, he also managed to find a well-hidden tracking spell. He decided it was best not to tinker with it. He’d only barely spotted it, he doubted his training would be sufficient to dismantle it without at least alerting the owner.
Josh snuck out the room, fetching the food container he had brought and closing the front door. He put it in the under-furnished kitchen, then headed to the general purpose living area and quietly rummaged about till he found Mar’s stationary. Placing an oversized exam pad on the floor and grasping a large pen with his whole hand, he wrote a quick note.
Hey Mar!
I brought a bit of food for you. I know you lot would live only on energy if you could, but that can’t beat the taste of good food. Especially Carina’s cooking.
He stopped to ponder whether telling Mar about the tracking enchantment was worth the additional stress it would cause him. He trusted Irikshan and the council but did not know if this was Mistress Rentik’s initiative, or the council’s. He decided he would trust them. In his lifetime, he would never be able to comprehend all the workings of those ancient minds. One day he’d be gone, and Mar would still be here. Amongst dragons, Mar would even then still be considered to be in early bachelor age. Even Mar’s parents, Lyntarr and Ilres were highly likely to outlive Josh - just as they’d outlived several of his ancestors.
Send me a message when you’re free. I’d like to spend some time with you.
Stay safe, Josh

This is Rogue, a sort of alter ego/fantasy persona for myself. Info below:
Rogue wishes to become famous throughout the land as a mysterious and alluring, yet skilled and cunning adventurer. To this end, he is a bounty hunter, taking up quests and missions for coin and other rewards. He functions well as a thief, dungeoneer, and assassin, but his favorite jobs require charisma rather than stealth. Few are capable of resisting his intoxicating charms - literally so, as he often uses magical spells and enchanted materials to captivate his targets and win over their favor. In essence, Rogue is a regular femme fatale!
Rogue’s lipstick has different effects on whomever he kisses on the lips, depending on what color he's wearing. Pink charms them, ivory paralyzes them, and teal puts them to sleep. Red has no effect.
Rogue usually leaves a lipstick mark on the cheek of his dead victims - this is his signature.
To keep up his mysterious image, Rogue seldom ever removes the bandanna from his face, only ever lifting it to deliver a kiss. If he shows you his face freely, you are likely his intended target.
The dagger he currently wields is called Gaia’s Incisor, and is a gift from the Fairy Queen - one of many gifts he received for performing royal favors.
The sachel at his side is his makeup bag. The vials on his hip contain helpful potions, like health and speed. The bags on his boots contain powders and spices with various magical properties.
