I have started to read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter each day after work and so far here are some of my thoughts;
1. Teenage Abraham Lincoln is EMO ASF
2. The movie is not a good adaptation but I still like the way it tells the story
3. Since I watched the movie first I was expecting Will Johnson to appear any second but he didn't bc he's an original character from the movie. I got Torieled.. :(
4. I didn't like Henry in the movie and I still find him an asshole in the book (at least from the narrator pov)
5. Talking of the Narrator, I was super involved in his life for no reason I forgot what the book actually was about for a second.
6. This book is gore btw, not like it describes terrible acts of torture (yet) but the actions are told in such a gruesome way I just can imagine the scene.
7. The Narrator mentioned there was books about Lincoln's sexuality... erm... Speedcoln maybe?? Gay Lincoln please!!!!

I have read more of the book! Here are my throughts;
1. Abraham Lincoln is just like me fr (daddy issues)
2. Me (henry) and my emo son who hates me
3. I actually kinda like Henry, unlike the movie's version he's not such a big asshole! "It's been long since I've been your age" LOL OLD ASS
4. Talking of Henry, I would rlly have wanted more development on the time Lincoln trained with him :( This book kinda has the issue of rushing stuff, some times its a blessing and some times a curse- I rlly think this part needed a slow pace to rlly see Abraham change his mind and start to like Henry (me when I take a vampire as my new dad)
5. Following to that, I take it back about the gore. The book isn't explicit enough, I'm not a fan of that kind of stuff and I'm easily disturbed- but some stuff need to be really described! I realized that during the entire slave story. I do think Abraham should have told more things about the horror of slavery, and the cruelty about how these people were killed and ate by vampires. Exploring how Abraham felt other than "He cried seeing this" :( We kinda have to guess the way he feels, which I think the diary quotes should be heavily focused into.
6. EDGAR ALLAN POE?!
7. I knew he was coming but I still was surprised. Tho a great way to show that Abraham Lincoln didn't make enemies of the one disagreeing with him. I rlly hope we will see more of that.
8. The difference between 16yo Lincoln and 19yo Lincoln is AMAZING. I love how he went from an angry, emo and edgy teen to a through full, intelligent but still in the energy of the age young man.
9. Lincoln isn't interested in girls still ;) I still have a chance for Speedcoln (but knowing that this book doesnt wanna deal with slow pace of emotions for ppl to develop a relationship, I have low hope for it to be as good as I want it to be)
10. Abraham Lincoln did not drink, but he drank during his 22nd birthday which made him confuse a random man with a vampire. I wonder if that will be the trigger to his no alcohol policy
