my open locked tomb questions *spoilers*

the tomb is open and these questions are too! Can you help me answer them or speculate some wacky theories?

The River 

What exactly happened to the River at the end of Nona and why? What is the tower?

Where are the people who disappeared into the stoma? (Augustine, Ulysses...) What exactly is hell, metaphysically?

What exactly IS the stoma?

Is the King over the River who Abigail mentions in HtN a different entity from Jod?

What happened to Mattias Nonias and Ortus after they went the fight the RB? Did they just go into the River? What happens when people go into the River though

Metaphysics of the First House and the Resurrection 

What exactly happened with everyone's memories? Why does Pyrrha remember some stuff e.g. Gideon's original name (she calls him G-- near the end of NtN) but Augustine and Mercy don't remember John's original eye color?

So Jod can't die unless killed by Alecto? Can he actually be killed by RBs or is it really just a sham?

Can Jod actually resurrect people now or does he need Alecto? I mean we've seen him basically resurrect Gideon Prime but was he technically still alive, just... in bits? Can Alecto resurrect without Jod?

Did Jod repopulate the Ninth like he promised Harrow? What happened these people?

It seems like the people who were going to repopulate the Ninth were like... being suspended in cryoanimation. Who are these people? Are they like, people got put into cryo right after the Resurrection?

Would Jod have just killed everyone after the trials at Canaan house if they hadn't died, ascended, or disappeared anyway? Is it possible he's tried to make new Lyctors before and he just disappears everyone after they fail?

What exactly would happen if Jod went to the First House?

Why can't you send or receive transmissions to/from the First House?

Why does Nona have golden eyes if Kiriona is a revenant? Is it because she has Alecto's soul?

Where is Gideon Nav's soul? Is it still in Harrow or in Gideon's revenant body?

Was Nona three people in one body?

What exactly happened to Anastasia and Samael? What kind of Lyctorhood did they achieve?

Paul???? So many Paul questions, what is Paul like? Like what is their inner experience of selfhood like? Was Paul always there since Pal entered Cam's body?

House Histories

Why is Canaan house like that? Like it was built as a replica--a replica of what? Or was it more like an homage to Earth? How much of pre-Resurrection like... culture and history was kept?

Who founded the 7th house if Cyth and Loveday were already of the 7th pre-Lyctor?

Did Harrow just hallucinate the Body or did Alecto somehow impart a fragment of her soul when Harrow was a child? I think it's really just that Harrow hallucinated the body...

Why were Alecto's eyes like that (creepy black all the way around)? Is it just Aesthetic?

Unseen character dynamics

What were Ulysses and Titania like, exactly?

What exactly was the dynamic between Alfred and Cristabel? Like why were they a bad influence on each other?

Critical plot questions

How did Harrow get into Alecto's body? (My answer for this is that she travelled through the River instead of going back into her own body. But like... how did the body switch happen?)

How did Harrow's body (Nona) get to Cam+pal and Pyrrha? How did Pyrrha get to Cam+pal? Did I just miss something in NtN?

How did Gideon's body with Gideon's soul (?) which was in Harrow get to the Emperor? Because I thought BoE had Gideon's body? Was it that Gideon's soul DIDN'T get to the emperor but her body did?

What is the role of the Messenger? Who exactly is Aim?

What are the creepy monsters that invaded the Ninth and that Colum Asht turned into? Are they RB related? Heralds? Are they from the stoma? (I think it's the latter?)

What happened to the trillionaires? Are they actually out there or has Jod just been running from his own demons?

Are we ever going to see the Gang from school again?

Dear readers,

I think it’s time you and I had a little catch up…

In the last few weeks since I’ve been back things have been as hectic as always. However, our Gryffindors, usually known for their rowdy nature, have been very quiet as of late. Our own Head Boy and Girl, James Potter and Lily Evans have been almost suspiciously quiet. Who knows what they get up to when they’re supposed to be sorting out prefect duties.. Whatever it is, they seem to be keeping very private. Even Sirius Black has been rather boring as of late, though that never usually last long. Surprisingly, Remus Lupin seems to be getting up to more than both of his friends. His friendship with Caradoc Dearborn could quite possibly be blossoming into something more. And I definitely heard talk that he was looking for fashion advice from none other than Gilderoy Lockhart. It’s hard to tell whether he’s trying to impress Caradoc or ditch his old friends for new ones. Speaking of budding friendships or more, we can’t ignore the one between Gideon Prewett and Alaric James. Gideon might want to watch out though. Not only has Alaric been spotted multiple times with mysterious injuries he refuses to comment on, he also appears to be skulking about the corridors after curfew. Unfortunately Fabian Prewett, Mary MacDonald and Hestia Jones seem to be following the older students and staying awfully quiet this month. Let’s hope they spice it up soon. Osric Gryffindor has been seen swinging his sword about again and yes, we are just as confused about that as you are. Three of our lovely Gryffindor girls seem to be struggling under the shadow of their brothers: Amara Greengrass, Amelia Bones and Molly  Prewett. Amara seems to be getting on fairly well since her family drama, but Malachai is still the name on everyone’s lips. Word is that Amelia has been seen lashing out to students older and younger if they bother her. She’s certainly becoming less like her brother by the day. And lastly, sweet Molly Prewett, the more trouble her brothers get into, the more I forget about her…

Now onto our Hufflepuffs. Our most interesting recently has been Caradoc Dearborn. Sweetheart, turned heartthrob, Caradoc has been seen spending more and more time with both Remus and Gilderoy. Is he stringing them along or is it all just harmless friendship? Another person who seems besoted with Gilderoy is Leena Shafiq. She has been heard gushing about him multiple times this week alone. Can someone please get her something else to do. The Scamander siblings seem to be making quite a splash lately. Literally, when it comes to Jeremy who was seen jumping into The Black Lake with our own Lucinda Talkalot. Not only that, but a little birdie told me he tried to convince Daisy Hookum as well. I for one think they’d make a cute couple! Hope on the other hand has been making friends with anyone she talks to. You have to admire her friendliness towards even the oddest of people. True to their reputation, other Hufflepuffs are following Hope’s lead and making new friends. Amalia Lazaro has been seen befriending people from all houses, and we’re certainly happy to see some inter-house bonding here at The Insider. Other friendships that have been brought to our attention due to speculation about something more is Amos Diggory and Elizabeth Tonks. Is young love sparking between these two? We’ll have to keep a close eye on them to find out. The other Tonks, Ted, has been unusually absent as of late. One can only wonder what he’s been up to that makes him want to stay out of the public eye these days. Frank Longbottom has also been quiet lately, but I did hear that he’s annoying a lot of people with his obsession with rules. I hate to be the one to tell you, Frank, but no one likes a goody goody, prefect or not. Lastly we have Septima Vector, another person who should keep an eye on her friends, if anything we’ve heard about Barty Crouch Jr is true.

Ravenclaws often have a reputation for being sticks in the mud, but a few students seem to be doing their best to change that perception. We may as well start with Bartemius Crouch Jr who has rumours following him everywhere these days. He has been spotted hanging out with some well known Slytherins with dark arts books under his arm and his fellow students seem to be worried about what he’s up to. Lucinda Talkalot has also been disproving that reputation, between dips in the lake and breaking poor Gilderoy’s heart. Speaking of Gilderoy Lockhart, he has already been mentioned plenty of times in this article but I couldn’t mention him once more without acknowledging his brief stint on this paper. Do you miss him or are you glad to see the back of him? His friend, Kingsley Shacklebolt seems to be just as boring as ever. Sure, teachers love him but I think it’s time he did something a bit more exciting. Nolan Burnett has also had a severe lack of scandals surrounding him. I think we can all agree that his friendship with Alaric James is cute though. It almost rivals James and Sirius. Pandora White is another person with relationship rumours, between her and Xenophilius Lovegood. They’re both generally nice to everyone though so it’s hard to tell if there’s really anything going on. Sybil Trelawney was seen sneaking into the forbidden forest to find some obscure plant but really, what’s new there?

Lastly, let’s discuss our Slytherins. The most interesting thing in this house is of course all the drama surrounding their engagements. Starting with the Black sisters. Bellatrix and Narcissa were spotted on dates with Rodolphus Lestrange and Lucius Malfoy respectively during the last Hogsmeade weekend. Andromeda however? It’s hard to remember when she was last seen even talking to Rabastan Lestrange. Let’s hope both of their older siblings give them some relationship advice before it all falls apart. I wouldn’t specify older, but I can’t be sure that Narcissa would give the best advice. If the rumours about her friendship with Sanctus Slytherin are true, she isn’t being too careful about her engagement either. Now I wouldn’t like to be on the wrong side of Lucius but Sanctus doesn’t seem too bothered by these rumours or what his housemate might think. Evan Rosier also seems to be very relaxed about his engagement if his lack of time spent with Dorcas Meadowes is anything to go by. Other than betrothals, our Slytherins are keeping busy in other ways. Alecto Carrow seemed offended that we didn’t call her a loose canon last week but if her friendship with Isla Runcorn is anything to go by, she certainly isn’t someone I’d like to upset. The pair of them are a force to be reckoned with. Keeping their quidditch team afloat is Emma Vanity. Ravenclaw pride aside, I almost hope they win their next match just for the sake of her team. I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of her anger if they lose. Ronaldo Flint might also want to be careful. I’ve heard that Alaric is practicing fighting skills particularly for when he next bumps into his Slytherin foe. Three Slytherins that seem to be fighting stereotypes are Malachai Greengrass, Skoll Greyback, and Marcellus Gaunt. While this is nothing new for Malachai, Sky and Marcellus seem to be branching out lately for outdoor adventures with some unique friends. Marcellus has been spotted hanging around with Hope and Sky with Pandora. I personally think they’d make a good group of friends, even if it seems unlikely.
