i've been on t for more than half a decade and i have wide hips. testosterone did not change that and i like my hips, but when i wear clothes that aren't baggy i get stared at. i mostly pass but in public i experience a lot of the same things i did as a teenage girl, like dudes in cars slowing down to stare at my ass. the thing that changed over time was that nowadays they go by me and see my face and get angry or disgusted because oh no, that's a man, i just did something gay!!

the attention was shitty before and it's shitty now. being creeped on as a young girl fucking sucked and being creeped on as an adult man with a "feminine figure" fucking sucks. it's kind of weird to me how my experiences in the world have both dramatically changed and stayed largely the same. sometimes i feel like a perpetual teenager, because people won't stop treating me like a kid, but also a kid they can sexualize. the misogyny never went away, it just morphed into a different form because society doesn't like when girls become men.

i get stared at all the fucking time. my body is always someone elses' business. if i dare to wear clothes that don't hide my hips, the way i look becomes instantly morbidly fascinating to people. i can only imagine how it is for trans and intersex people of color, for people who are disabled, for people who have higher autistic support needs than i do, etc.. it's awful.

to my fellow t guys, transmascs, and anyone who feels it applicable, those of us who will always have wide hips or other "feminine" features that the world we live in takes issue with: i see you and your body isn't anyone's business but your own.

message for girls: you can be a boy too. you dont have to stop being a girl to be a boy. if you dont want to be a girl you can stop, but you can also keep being a girl and be a boy at the same time. you can be a trans man and still be a woman if you want. if your womanhood is real to you and not just an imitation of what you think you're supposed to be doing, the way a lot of trans men describe, you can keep doing womanhood and just start doing manhood alongside it. and even if yours is an imitation you can keep it forever if you want to, if it is dear to you, you do not have to give it up to be valid.

and btw if your womanhood is hard-won and you feel like any hint of manhood is a threat to your validity, you can still have both things if you want both of them. you can be a trans woman and also a man if you wanna. you don't have to but if you want to, you can.

also no matter what kind of womanhood you have you can stop doing it whenever you need to. including if your womanhood is sincere and genuine btw. and it doesnt have to mean you were never a woman. you can do whatever you want forever i love you

Well, the people has spoken. It seems we'll be getting an outsider POV for the first chapter of the fic. This will be challenging, but what's new at this point lol.

Wow, writing fanfiction is harder than it looks when you have nothing to start with.

Like, I already have a broad plan in mind of how I want things to go, like how long pre-canon stuff is before going to the main story, but actually starting from point one is... hard.

Right now I have three options on how I want the prologue to be;

One is a dream sequence of baby Techno!Branch being comforted by one of his bro's (Floyd, possibly) about him being different than others and being reassured that he'll always have his brothers to rely on, then snaps back to reality of Branch (all grown up and grey) waking up from the memory.

Option two is basically no dream sequence, but instead brief flashbacks of his life leading up to his grandma's death, and then waking up in a cold sweat.

(Yeah, they're similiar in premise, but it's different enough for the tone of the fic to be set, y'know?)

And the third is not in Branch's POV, but JD and Grandma Rosiepuff's. Basically it's been about a month after the last Trollstice, with it taking BroZone's parents away (I'm subscribing on this headcanon for the sake of fic progression), and JD is sitting on a branch high up reminiscing. And suddenly a bird drops a "dookie" (Branch's egg) through the bars and onto the ground, so JD went to investigate and found the egg. Without thinking much of it (big bro protectiveness activated) he brought the egg back to the fam, and Rosiepuff just knew that this isn't a normal Troll egg. When it hatched and baby Techno!Branch came along, she decided, "actually, I like this one, I'll call him Branch" and the rest goes the way you'd think.

something that bothers me that i have a hard time articulating is the trend of saying "you just hate women" to trans men

something i see a lot when transmascs stand up and have respect for ourselves is accusations of hating women. frankly it seems like a lot of people have not unpacked that we don't transition because we hate women, we transition because a lot of us (not all, but a lot) don't want to be women. here's your obligatory "but of course there are misogynist trans men out there! i have to say this because otherwise someone could say i hate women and want to downplay their struggles. you know, the exact thing i'm talking about in this post"

either way sometimes people understand misogyny is not stored in the gender and then are extra pissed when a trans man is a misogynist. he shouldn't be, that's shitty, but his misogyny is treated like a betrayal worse than a cis person's misogyny.*

it feels like people want transmascs to be these ultra educated feminists who sit and listen and never speak up about our individual issues (this applies to transfeminine and intersex people too). it's really frustrating to try to talk about double standards and things wrong with the world due to the patriarchy, toxic masculinity, and other intersecting factors (race, age, disability, etc.) and get told "shut up you just hate women" ???? it is not the fault of women that the issues we talk about exist and we say that, but i guess if you believe hard enough that anyone who uses the word transandrophobia hates women, that will magically make it true

*this also happens to transfems a lot. if you've ever cracked down on a transfem for saying something you would let slide from a cis person, examine that
