Went by CVS yesterday, because I never go in there, and saw an #EnergyDrink I've never seen before. #Celcius. I picked up the 2 flavors they had, this is the #SparklingOrange flavor. It tastes slightly better than I'd expect orange seltzer water would taste. Not overly sweet, not bitter, and with 200mg of #caffeine in this tiny 12oz can, it should give me enough energy to get through my short shift today. My opinions: I just really like Taako being a dad guys. I specifically like him being Angus's dad. I also love hurt comfort and found family and basically everything about this entire fic. It’s the first in a series, the second thing it is a companion work to the first that’s incomplete. But if incomplete fics aren’t your jam then this one stands alone just fine.

Taako looks down to find the kid already asleep, nose squished up against Taako’s shirt. He’s breathing softly through his mouth like a fish, which somehow manages to be adorable. Disgusting.

“Some apprentice you are, dipping out right when I need you,” Taako mutters, but his chest is swelling with a weird, not-quite-painful-but-definitely-unnatural feeling. It’s like pressure, or weight, but it makes him feel light. It’s the same feeling he got the first time Angus executed a flawless Mage Hand. Not pride, not fondness, but not...not those things. Something more complicated.

He doesn’t want to analyze it, so he doesn’t. Instead, he slouches into a more comfortable position, wrapping his arms tighter around Angus so the boy detective doesn’t slide off his lap.

Taako works through his trauma/emotional constipation and tries to deal with his newfound parental feelings towards Angus.

Companion to Repression is a slippery slope that leads to emotions. Hopefully this works as a standalone, but I would still strongly recommend reading that one first.
