Akpabio, Senate Leader Bamidele Allegedly Clash Over Leadership Style Reports of a physical altercation between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele have emerged, allegedly stemming from a disagreement over leadership decisions. According to investigative journalist Jackson Ude, the fight took place on Tuesday at the Senate Cafeteria. Eyewitnesses claimed the two leaders held each other by the neck while exchanging blows, prompting Senator Sani Bello of Niger State to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating further. Breaking: Simon Ekpa, Four Others Arrested in Finland Over Terror-Related Activities Root of the Dispute Insiders suggest the clash highlights growing divisions within the Senate over Akpabio’s leadership. Specifically, Bamidele is said to have been angered by Akpabio’s decision to appoint a Northerner as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), a position he reportedly felt should have gone to the South West caucus. Bamidele is also reportedly accusing Akpabio of favoring his allies and ignoring regional balance in the distribution of committee appointments and other key roles. ICC Issues Arrest Warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu, Gallant, Hamas Leader Deif Fallout Both Akpabio and Bamidele were notably absent from the Senate plenary session on Wednesday following the alleged incident. Reaction The development has sparked debate on social media, with many calling for transparency and unity in the Senate. Jackson Ude, a U.S.-based Nigerian investigative journalist and former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, broke the news via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, drawing widespread attention to the matter. Efforts to reach the Senate leadership for comment were unsuccessful at the time of this report.

Who are The Wendelin’s?
The Wendelin’s sort of came out of nowhere for the upper city of Derux. They were instantly liked by the people with  their swaying words and how it’s so captivating to draw people to read the stories that they have written. They had the factuals in their writing since their writing always comes back to be truthful - sometimes it’s hurtful to read and sometimes it is not. It’s relieving to see what they had written for the people. They were founded over by the families who had the riches but some weren’t so fond of them - that family being the Darnell’s.
One of the sons from the Wendelin’s was asked to interview the Darnell family. He gladly took the offer which sparked a bit of a heated exchange between him and one of Darnell's sons, Calvin Benedict Darnell who goes by Ben by his colleagues and friends. Stefan, the son of the Wendelin’s, wasn’t either of them so he had to call him Mr. C or just Calvin. Stefan didn’t really mind calling him those things but he decided to have a little fun with Calvin and started calling him Cally. The name sounded like Sally but it wasn’t, it was just Cally.
The Wendelin’s were also known for their funny jokes because some of them are actually comedians! Most of the Wendelin’s have a bit of a funny bone in them so they do place a little bit of a joke in their writings to help the readers laugh a bit. This is why the Darnell’s don't like them because who knows what matter they would write about - something so serious and then there’s a joke? In the middle of the writing? Who would do that? - The Wendelin’s. That’s who. The silly but professional writer family, The Wendelin’s.
parents: Christine and Daniel Wendelin
children: Alexandra, Kanta, Karly, Kingsely, Marcy, Martin, Nerva, Robby & Ronny, Sani, Stefan, Tory, Tyrell, and Vinnie Wendelin

By • Olalekan Fagbade How Governor submitted ‘blank’ Commissioners’ list to beat deadline     The long-awaited commissioner nominees’ list forwarded by Governor Mai Mala Buni to the state assembly was finally unveiled by the speaker, Hon. Buba Chiroma-Mashio. Daily Trust checks reveal that the first batch of the list which was purportedly released on July 27 remained unveiled until during last Tuesday’s plenary when a second batch was brought. The development had fuelled suspicions that the first batch was a blank list meant to beat the constitutionally required 60 days deadline. However, both the state government and leaders of the state house of assembly said four names were pencilled in the first list. A member of the state assembly confirmed to Daily Trust that indeed the letter earlier sent to them through the Secretary to the State Government contained no names. But the speaker, Hon. Buba Chiroma-Mashio, in an interview with newsmen in Damaturu on Tuesday said there was nothing like a blank list to beat the deadline, adding that the house received the first batch of the list on 27 July. Daily Trust reports that the final list released at Tuesday’s plenary contained 20 nominees; 18 men and 2 women drawn from all the local government areas of the state. Those on the list are: Hon. Mohammed Garba Gagiyo – Bade; Engr. Usman Ahmed – Bursari; Hon. Musa Mustapha – Damaturu; Ya Jalo Badama – Damaturu ; Prof. Bello Kawuwa – Fika; Alhaji Ibrahim Jajere – Fune; Ali Goniri – Gujba; Aji Yerima Bularafa – Gulani; Alhaji Mohammed Abatcha – Gulani; Dr. Mairo Amshi – Jakusko; Abdullahi Bego – Jakusko; Hon Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa – Karasuwa and Barma Shettima – Machina. Others are: Engr. Umar Wakili Duddaye – Nangere; Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss – Nguru; Bar. Sale Samanja – Potiskum ; Yusuf Umar Potiskum – Potiskum; Arch. Ahmed Buba Abba Kyari – Tarmuwa; Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana – Yusufari and Hon. Kaigama Umar – Yunusari The Secretary to the Yobe State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, reportedly forwarded a letter containing a list to the Yobe State Assembly for screening and confirmation on July 27 but the house failed to unveil the names to the public. Consequently, rumours had circulated in the last two weeks that in a bid to beat the 60-day constitutionally required deadline to form an executive council; Governor Buni sent a letter without attaching a list of commissioner nominees to the state assembly. The development sparked discussions among politicians, citizens, and the media given the fact that the speaker at their emergency meeting on that day only announced the receipt of the letter from the governor without reading the content to members. An insider (a lawmaker) in the assembly revealed that the 24 members, except the speaker, were not on the list as claimed by the speaker and the state government. “Although I have been working here for over a decade, we heard that the SSG submitted the list of nominees on that day but some of my colleagues were asking who made the list, but could not get an answer. “Some people said nothing was contained in the list; it was just a blank paper sent to the house by the state governor so that people could say they had met the deadline to form an executive council,” the source who wished to remain unnamed due to the sensitive nature of the matter said. The source said it was unrealistic for the assembly to have held onto the commissioner nominees list for more than two weeks without screening or making it public if indeed it was true that the SSG submitted it. Meanwhile, there are concerns among the youth and party stakeholders in the state on why the list is coming late as many state governors have constituted their cabinets to move their agenda forward. However, a Damaturu-based youth, Hussaini Muhammad, said politics in Yobe State seemed to be a game by the same players without substitute and new tactics. “Usually,
governors in Yobe used to send their commissioner nominees list to the state assembly as early as possible but this present governor spent at least 2 months searching for his cabinet and that is why many people think that new faces would arrive, but unfortunately things have not changed.” ‘Nothing like blank list’ But the speaker, Hon. Buba Chiroma-Mashio, in an interview with newsmen in Damaturu on Tuesday said there was nothing like a blank list of commissioner nominees to beat the deadline, insisting that the house received the first batch of the list on 27 July. He said the first batch of names submitted to the assembly contained four names, adding that the delay in the confirmation process was due to the assembly’s commitment to ensuring that all nominees were confirmed at once. “We received four names from the first batch of the commissioner nominees last time. After receiving the second batch, we merged them for screening to follow the serial. That is why you could see that they are separated; first and second batches. “In short, Yobe State assembly received the first batch of the four nominees from the executive on 27 July and the second batch last week, making them 20 in number. ‘‘The reason why I did not disclose the list is that we might not go for their screening and people would be asking why we did not call them (nominees) for screening. Since we had a first batch list, we just waited for His Excellency to send the second list to us,” he said. He said the nominees will be screened in batches starting from the 16th, 17th, and 18th of August. Similarly, Mallam Mamman Muhammad, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, said the state government had submitted the list of commissioner nominees to the assembly for screening and confirmation on 27 July, 2023 to beat the 60-day constitutional deadline. While admitting that there was a delay for the second batch list because new ministries would be created, he insisted that nothing was done outside of the constitution. ‘‘The state government wants to expand ministries which is why the second batch list was delayed. The state assembly was given a good time to screen the nominees before the second batch. So, I think the house will answer this question. ‘‘The first list was given to them within the timeframe for screening while the second batch came thereafter so they are the ones that you will ask why they did not start screening till they received the second batch,’’ he said. Efforts to speak with the SSG were unsuccessful as he neither responded to calls nor a text message. #blanklist #Governor #Politics

Jaye Lo: Ignore calls for apology, Soyinka tells Davido
Tumblr media
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has urged Nigerian Afrobeat star, Davido, to ignore calls demanding his apology over the controversial music video he posted on his social media platforms. The PUNCH reported that the Davido Music Worldwide label boss and his signee, Olamilekan Taiwo, aka Logos Olori, caused a stir online, sparking mixed reactions from netizens following the release of the latter’s new record, ‘Jaye Lo.’ A 45-second clip of the new video posted Friday on Instagram by Davido has since attracted criticism. Many Muslim devotees have labelled the video offensive and are now calling for a retraction while also threatening the artists with a lawsuit. The controversial scene featured some men depicting praying mallams seen dancing in front of a mosque instead of praying. This dancing act has since been deemed offensive by some Muslim devotees. Despite deleting the video forty-eight hours after it was posted, some Muslims are still demanding a public apology from Davido. The Literary icon said former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai had made offensive comments against Christians in the past but was never asked to tender an apology. He said, “There was nothing to apologize about, and that applied equally to El Rufai’s comments at the time. It should come as no surprise that I equally absolutely disagree with Shehu Sani if indeed, as reported, he has demanded an apology from Davido on behalf of the Moslem community.” “It wasn’t Davido’s music that lynched Deborah Yakubu, a second-year Christian college student who was killed by a mob of Muslim students in Sokoto last year over alleged blasphemy,” he added. It's how the show is asking us to ponder whether Akk will become Chadok, or Dika, or whether he can break free of the curse, the REAL curse of Suppalo altogether. Because the real curse is that either you bend or you break but either way Suppalo wins, it gets you. It's paralleling Akk with Teacher Sani, who has the same choice ahead of her. It's showing how impossible it is to fight the system from within, even if you have power, because the master's tools can never dismantle the master's house. The only way to fix the system is to break it, but when the system is all you've ever known and what replaces it is nothing but a question mark against the backdrop of a void, what then? It's showing how the marginalised ALWAYS have to do the work of leading the charge, because they're the ones who can't hide, and for whom the system is life-threatening. It's showing how making people uncomfortable is the only way to make change, and how the system will value the comfort of the many over the pain of the few. It's also showing how once the spark is lit the fire ALWAYS spreads which is why the system is so desperate to stomp out the spark.
Bra-fucking-vo.

Prompt List               MasterList         Kintktober 2022        Buy me a Coffee
Tumblr media
A knock at the door meant your day of fun with Lacy had come to an end.
“Lacy your mum is here.”
You call out to her in the living room only to be met with a huge pouty face, and not just from her either but from San too.
“Can she come back later. or even better we take Lacy home.”
San pipes up looking over to Lacy who was bright eyed about the idea.
“I wish we could San but it’s a school night and Lacy needs to get an early night.”
You hated being the party pooper, you were meant to be the cool aunt but at the same time you still needed to look out for her wellbeing and avoiding arguments with your sister so sadly fun time was over. Walking over to answer the door to your sister you were closely followed by San who had Lacy on his back who was giggling her little butt off from the piggy back ride.
“Did you have fun?” Your sister asked her daughter who was desperately clinging to San not wanting to be put down.
“We had pizza!” She yelled excitedly making you and San laugh. With great difficulty San manages to set the toddler down and putting her little backpack on her before ushering her off to her mother. You and your sister continue to talk about your day and all the fun Lacy had and while you were talking San was busy keeping Lacy occupied by pulling faces at her and poking her ribs to make her ticklish.
“Okay, say thank you to aunty Y/n and San for having you.”
“Thank you aunty Y/n and Sani.” She waves at you with a big toothy grin on her face as she walks off back to the car hand in hand with her mother. You and San stay in the doorway watching the two of them get into the car and drive off, San’s arm wrapping around your waist pulling you close to his side.
“She’s a cute kid.” He beams down at you Squeezing you a little as he spoke.
“Yeah, she’s got her mother’s ways though.” You both laugh at the little harmless dig you had at your sister as you walked back into the apartment.
Cleaning up the apartment you couldn’t help but notice San smiling to himself the whole time, he looked giddy with how happy he was and as cute as you found it you couldn’t help but wonder what got him this way.
“Babe?” You ask walking over to him as he picked up the small building blocks humming to you in response.
“What’s got you all smiley?” Tilting his head down even more his smile gets bigger running over what he was already thinking of.
“Oh you know, just stuff.” Now that peeked your interest.
“Like what.” You sat down on the couch facing him waiting for him to spill the beans. Placing the last of the blocks in a small box he turned his full attention to you, holding your hands in his as he looked you deep in the eye.
“Promise you won’t get weirded out by this.” Cocking an eyebrow you wait for him to continue.
“I was just thinking you’d be a great mother.” You blush at the compliment, the thought of kids never crossed your mind, for as long as you could remember you’d sworn against having kids, you didn’t mind looking after Lacy, you had fun together but at the end of the day you always had to hand her back to your sister and you went on with your own life, that was how you liked it and having your own child would change all of that.
“Really?” San nodded happily in reply not doubting you for a second.
“I’m not saying anything has to happen if you don’t want to but maybe one day...me and you can have a crack at this parenting thing, we can get a bigger place, sort our shit out and one day have a mini us running around.” His voice got quieter the longer he went on, feeling a little bit embarrassed by the whole thing, he never got like this but seeing you with Lacy just sparked something in him.
Holding his face in your hands you kiss his nose.
“Maybe, I was never really one for kids but maybe for you I could change my mind.” The way his eyes sparkled made you melt, he was the sweetest bean and seeing him all broody made your heart flutter despite feeling a twinge of anxiety over the whole thing.
“It was just an idea baby, as long as I have you I’m happy, but if you ever decide you want a kid I’ll always be here.” Sealing his words like a promise with a kiss he knelt up to your level cupping your face and pulling you into the most tender kiss you’ve ever experienced, all the love he feels for you was poured into that kiss.
Your night went on as usual, hanging out at home with a homecooked meal and continuing the TV show you’d both been binging for the last few weeks. After what San said earlier that day everything felt that bit extra like home even though nothing had changed. Cuddled up next to San, the dishes left over from your meal left on the coffee table and the TV playing in front of you, you were too comfy to get up but you knew at some point you had to, the dishes weren’t going to clean themselves no matter how much you wished they would. The credits rolled at the end of the episode and you took that as you que to get up and finally do the chore that had been staring you in the face for the last hour and a half. Getting up from your spot you felt San’s hand wrap around your wrist lightly tugging wanting you to go back to him.
“I won’t be long, just gonna do the dishes and as soon as I’m done I’m all yours.”
Not even 5 minutes into doing the dishes you feel San’s hands caress your waist before wrapping his arms around you nuzzling his face into your neck.
“What’s got you like this baby?” He was usually clingy and you were used to it but he was never this bad unless he’d had a bad day, or there was something else on his mind.
“Just you.” He whispers into your ear, kissing the lobe before moving to your jaw. You smile to yourself, you knew there was a catch.
“Like I said baby, I’ll do these then I’m all yours.”
“But I need you now.” He mumbles against your skin pressing his hips against you so you could feel his growing erection against your ass.
“You’re insufferable.” You joke giggling at the way he pulls you closer to him even though you’re already pressed up against him as much as you possibly could.
“You love me though.” Not bothering to dry your hands you turn in his hold to face him, draping your arms around his neck.
“You’re lucky I love you.” You joke again watching a smirk curl on his face. The kiss he pulls you into is passionate, but a different type of passionate from earlier, instead of his whole love and devotion being poured into it, it was now filled with hunger and lust it spoke volumes how much he needed you right now.
Gripping your hips San leads you to the counter away from the sink, pressing you up against it so hard you were sure the hard edge of the counter top would leave a dent. Your soft moan is swallowed by San’s kiss as his tongue dominates yours with ease. You don't know when or how he became so needy but you certainly weren't complaining as your fingers tangling in his hair and tugging lightly spurred him on even more. His hands moving from your hips, gliding slowly past your ass before gripping the backs of your thighs hoisting you up onto the counter.
The sudden motion of your feet leaving the floor made you yelp in surprise but was quick to be muffled again by San's mouth. He slotted perfectly between your legs as he hooked his fingers in the waistband of your shorts nudging your nose with his as an indication to lift your hips which you did in an instant. Your shorts and underwear were off you in one quick motion, getting flung somewhere in the room no care given to their whereabouts. A gasp leaves you as your ass and thighs make contact with the cold counter top, you almost didn't want to sit down fully just from how cold it was but from the heat radiating from you and San as the kiss got even more heated and his fingers trailing along the inside of your thighs you soon warmed up to the point you didn't care how cold your ass would be.
Running a finger along your slit, San raises an eyebrow in surprise at just how turned on you got.
"Soaked for me already baby." Your whole body shudders at the contact, his cold fingers running over your core collecting your arousal.
"Need you San...Need you inside me." You breathe out pulling him in closer by his hair. A darkness came over his eyes, your needy pleas making him harder by the second.
On a normal night he'd take his time with you, tease you and make you beg for what you wanted but not tonight, tonight he was too turned on and too desperate to feel you he abandoned all tradition. He tugged his sweats down just enough to free himself and yanked you closer to him by your thighs lining himself up with your core.
"Your wish is my command." He smirked before thrusting into you harshly, knocking the air from your lungs so all that came out was a weak, almost inaudible cry.
One hand around your waist and the other holding the back of your neck San delivered harsh thrust after harsh thrust at a pace that made you see stars in seconds. The position is taking you to new heights of pleasure, the way his cock reaches deeper inside you, the way with every thrust your clit gets just enough friction you have you moaning his name like a chant. The eye contact between the both of you is intense to say the least, the need and desperation all paired with the raw lust is evident in the way you're looking at each other.
The kitchen was filed with the sound of heavy breathing and skin hitting skin, it was like music to your ears, if only your body was able to stay like this then you'd happily do so, but sadly all good things must come to an end at some point.
"Fuck San...I'm close." You cry out pressing your forehead to his, his warm breath fanning your face as he pants. White hot pleasure rips through you when his hand that was holding your waist moves it's way to your clit, working the small nub in the way he knew drove you insane, your walls clenching around him with each little movement.
"You keep clenching me like that baby I'm not gonna last much longer either." He giggled breathlessly trying his hardest to hold back.
"Breed me." Your voice was a mere whisper, San didn't know if he'd heard you right.
"What was that baby?" He asks slowing down a little.
"I want you to breed me, fill me with your cum and breed me." San's eyes rolled to the back of his head momentarily, the thought of stuffing you full of his cum made him want to cum on the spot.
"Are you sure baby? What you said earlier..." You interrupt him crashing your lips into his and biting down on his bottom lip as you pull away.
 "Fuck what I said earlier."
As if San's thrusts weren't harsh enough before, now he was rearranging your guys with how fast and hard he was slamming into you, he was on a mission now, he had a goal to reach but not before you reached your high first. His cock abusing your sweet spot and his fingers working their magic on your clit your moans and cries were rendered silent, air constantly getting knocked from your lungs. Your walls clamped down on him as your high drew closer, you could see the effect it had on San from the way his face screwed up in concentration trying to hold off his own orgasm and the way his hips were slowing down ever so slightly. You dig your nails into the back of his neck and your mouth opened to speak only to let out strangled moans.
"Cum for me baby, I know you're close so cum for me."
You needed no more encouragement, your orgasm hit you like a tidal wave and gave you a brief moment to take in air only for you to let it out in a scream of San's name as your body started to go limp in his hold. San wasn't far behind you only needing a few more thrusts before he filled you, pumping his cum into you further as he rode out his high.
You both stayed as you were for a short while as you recovered and caught your breath. You couldn't help but smile when San's head fell to your shoulder in exhaustion, combing your fingers through his hair comfortingly as you waited for him to come around.
"You okay there baby?" You ask turning your head to the side a little to see his flushed face buried in your shoulder. He gave a weak nod in response before straightening back up and cupping your face in his hands.
"Why the change of heart?" The gleam in his eyes showed he wasn't complaining at all.
"Just what you said and seeing you with Lacy earlier really got me thinking maybe we could do this parenting thing you know, I know it probably won't happen right away but we can always try." His eyes were like saucers and you could have sworn they sparkled but you didn't have time to get a good enough look before he was pulling you into his chest wrapping you in the biggest bear hug he could manage.
"I promise you I'm going to do everything I can for us to be a family."

once again back to offer my questionable thoughts on the eclipse, ep6 edition
the kiss was not a traditionally romantic first kiss
now hear me out: i absolute adore akk & ayan. their first kiss was very sweet and soft and absolutely befitting them. however i don't think this was 'romantic' in the traditional sense. they clearly and obviously have romantic feelings for each other so every akkayan interaction is romantic to some degree, but they very rarely actively communicate their feelings it's clear to us and clear to them because these boys couldn't be more obvious if they tried (and aye is trying and winning at being cringefail smitten) and honestly i think they're both very in tune with each other already, to the degree that they're both very much aware of the other's affection
but like. this episode was very much about confrontation & comfort, for akk and ayan but also for wat, and thua and kan - the confrontation and subsequent comfort about akk perpetuation the curse, the comfort offered by sani to wat (praying this doesn't become creepy) and kanthua's confrontation with thua's dad and kan's attempts to (offer) comfort for thua afterwards.
both akk and kan are more and more forced to confront themselves and what they want as well, and aye plays a major part in both of those arcs, even though he doesn't even talk to kan directly. it's just very interesting how aye is the incindiary factor for so much in this, always sparking confrontations whether internal or external for the other characters and i'm getting off track so back to it
ayan spends basically the whole episode offering some kind of comfort to akk, and i think he pretends to be okay a lot, even though we know how important that diary is to him. i don't think aye expects to get anything back, really, and that's why he goes in so hard with the flirting and making jokes and being a brat, because he can't let himself think about the fact that his notebook is gone and he can't find it and he doesn't know if he can trust the boy he likes or not, andn then he has his nightmare
and akk not only tries to calm him down and offer saftey and strokes his shoulder, but he's holding his hand and kissing his cheek (?) and you can see the way aye takes it in, before kissing akk. the safety and unquestioning understanding and affection he's being offered in that moment. the fact that akk gives back what he received from ayan. the fact that he's still there
and like. of course he's been wanting to kiss akk for ages, he's the opposite of subtlety he's never even heard of that word, but to me ayan kissing akk felt less like the declarations/reiterations of "i love you/i care about you" that kisses tend to be, and more like he needed it to feel safe and at least the tiniest bit okay. like the kiss was one of the few things keeping him grounded and away from the traumatic hellscape of his nightmares, something that gave him at least a tiny bit of comfort after that awful dream
tldr; akkayan first kiss was incredibly sweet but i see it less as an "i really like you and i'm confessing that fact" and more as a "you're here and you make me feel safe and this does, too"
(further confirmed to me personally by the lack of smiling after it, of taking a break and catching a breath and looking into each other's eyes. this was like a hug only like. as a kiss)
