DEMOCRACY: THE CRISIS OF THE POLITIC BODY // SOUNDART / HAPPENING

Democracy: The  crisis of the politic body.

This is an imaginary elections, in wich people,  can reflect about the uses of democracy as a mechanism of freedom in terms of collective organization. Is composed with a voting box, in wich inside there is a speaker with a sound collage composed with the voices of different politics arguments, from elected politicians to activists. The sound goes in loop inside the ear of the public, and they are questioned about some of the meanigns of democracy, and some of the black holes that have, why a mechanism of popular power, suddenly can bring ultraright party to the parlament.

Sound installation activated thanks to the participation of those attending the collective exhibition “After the wound”, the result of collective research in the Body in Crisis workshops, coordinated by Abraham Hurtado, held in Blanca in December 2019, with AADK Spain. Úrsula Bravo. Thanks to the people of Blanca, for giving up that symbolic urn so valuable to offer a space for expression and reformulation of new narratives, about its own usefulness. Thanks to Ana Moura and Lucas Lamela, for their help in developing the questionnaire for the public. Thanks to the AADK platform, for fostering the development of these actions.
