I had to ramble because Antonio is indeed a hard character to write. He's both awful and amazing

as a nation-being-person, he's oddly youthful even in comparison to younger nations. he's old as dirt, older than france actually, and still not as mature which is not setting the bar high. he's passive-aggressive and vengeful, but also extremely influential in a positive way? like western society without spanish culture would be so dull.

he's someone who was once immensely powerful but rly isn't anymore and has become, for lack of better words, irrelevant? never to me, but i have literally met grown adults who did not know spain was a country (let alone portugal) i wish i was kidding rn. as a History Enjoyer i can't ignore the fact that spain has a dark past, responsible for everything from colonial imperialism in the 15th century onwards, to brutal fascist reign throughout the 20th century. like tbh, he was once on par with england for being the Worst re: colonization, genocide, exploitation etc. in my honest opinion - while france as an imperial power did some awful shit particularly in africa - england, spain, portugal and the netherlands are by far the worst.

buuut with that all being said. i mostly write human au and i do tend to keep irl tragedies at a distance, while their personalities are still influenced by historical events, at some level ig.

as a human, he's just as complex. he's a fuckboy. he's a himbo. he's a loser (affectionate) and sometimes a loser (derogatory). he's Catholic and debilitatingly homosexual. he's passionate. he is... devastatingly sexy. he is kinda wifey, ngl. he's also kinda socially incompetent but gets away with it bc of his looks. perfect smile... sexy accent... fat ass... grrr i am squeezing him like a stress ball... i have written him as everything from a total manipulative creep to a bumbling fool who just wants his papi. like look at him... if he told me he was just a caked up white boy who never did anything wrong i would believe him... and im italian so he would bear my children.

Some Plata bros headcanons I have:

They both talk a lot but Tini (Martín) is the most shit-talker, though they're also very non-verbal. When they go non-verbal, they're the only ones who can understand each other (Lovino and Feliciano can understand them to an extent too).

They both love doing skincare and generally love to look their best, but Sebas takes it more seriously.

While Tini has a love-hate relationship with Alfred (US/America), Sebas admires him and secretly wishes to be like him. They both find Alfred's hero complex annoying though.

They generally have a good relationship, but they eventually get on each other's nerves if they're together for too long. They have a silent competition over who's the better country though.

They both are very physically affectionate and are personal space invaders, but they've been learning about consent. Sebas has a better grasp on consent while Tini has a more challenging time keeping his hands to himself.

They both love and see Lovino as a mother figure and would call him "mamá", but with Antonio... Well, nowadays they have a better relationship with him, but Tini refuses to call him "padre", he calls him "Anto" or "Tonio" instead.

They both like Feliciano a lot, but Sebas finds him a little annoying.

Tini used to see Francis as a role model but nowadays he finds him annoying at best, a rival at worst. He does tend to orbit around Francis a lot bc he loves to feed into his chaoticness (as I see it, Tini is chaotic neutral while Francis is chaotic evil).

Sebas sees Arthur as a role model to this day and likes him a lot, but when it comes to the Arg vs Eng/UK thing he would back up Tini immediately.

Sebas tends to be very protective over Tini bc his older brother is a magnet for disaster.

Tini hates being called "Little Italy" by European countries (bc of how much Argentina takes after the Italian culture) bc he puts a lot of effort into being his own country, while Sebas hates being called "Argentina's little sidekick" bc he hates living in his brother's shadow.

Basically op was complaining about fans shipping ships in hetalia that "aren't canon" and it's annoying when shippers use scenes and screenshots of the characters interacting as proof. Then listed a few canon ships which included a few ships that were married for political reasons like aushun but leaving out spaus and lietpol.

They then went off specifically about usuk and spamano. Saying the only "proof" we have is scenes where America and S.Italy are children and seemed to forget canon interaction of these ships as adults. Not that I'm here to be an anti, just that op forgot that Spain literally proposes to an adult S.Italy, fuck.

And then they finished saying we should respect Hima's work. Which is so dumb cause not only does a creator share their work knowing fans will view their creation through different lenses, but also that hetalia is full to the brim with ship stuff. Spaport olive oil bdsm strip, ameliet sharing a bed during the 20s, girirpan sex dream, pruita where Prussia said he thinks N.Italy is super cute, and so on.

Sorry to go off I'm still so annoyed that there's people in fandom that shit on shipping and shit on problematic ships most often.

I hate naming favourites, but since my most favourite sibling, @telivanistoolateparty, tagged me, I'll do it. Only going to name one of each of my favourites in each category.

Movie: To continue the trend of loving Dreamworks movies, I choose Shrek. As a kid, I watched it so many times that the one time it autoplayed in English, my parents thought I suddenly understood English, because I recited the Danish translation. At four years old. Before I was 10, my grandma had the audacity to diss it, and I spent half an hour telling her how it was about loving yourself the way you are, and that inner beauty was more important than looks. I convinced her in the end. So yeah. Shrek. What a movie.

Character: Um. That's really hard. Since I mostly blog about my idiot Spamanos, I guess everyone expects me to pick one of them, but like. Nah. Let's dig up... Monza Murcatto from Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie. It marks one of the first well written female characters by that author, and he hit it out of the park. Monza is the leader of a mercenary group and starts out the book getting betrayed by her employer. Despite being brought as low as anyone can get and almost dying, she ends up on top. I haven't read the book since I was 20, so forgive me for not giving out more details of why I love her.

Animal: I blog a surprising amount about animals I like. But I'll go with my dog. It's the same dog as Teli's dog. She's very cute and also dumb.

Drink: Lemonade – preferably the one I had at a café in Cienfuegos, Cuba. Best lemonade I ever had.

Song: Um. Wow. This is hard. I'll just go with Pink Floyd's The Wall. Because I've listened to it so much.

Season: I hate all seasons with a burning passion. Summer is too hot and there's mosquitoes. Autumn is always gray and it rains. Winter is too cold. Spring would be almost perfect if it wasn't for more rain and the fact that my anxiety goes through the roof every Spring. I hate seasons.

Book: Why would you do this to me? Wtf did I do to deserve this? You don't ask a bibliophile to pick a favourite amongst her children. I have a collection of over 600 books, including 200+ mangas. There's a lot of favourites to pick between. Instead, I think I'll shed light on two of the books I'm really happy about owning. Sommerfugledalen (The Butterfly Valley) by Inger Christensen, which is a poem, and very beautiful. My grandma (same as the one mentioned previously) got it for me a few years ago. Another favourite is my favourite epic, Paradise Lost by Milton, which I have three separate editions of and did my Bachelor's thesis on.

Colour: Pink, of course. Next question.

Hobby: I read a bunch, of course. But I'll mention that I really like embroidery. My sibling has a really cool thing that I embroidered some years back. It's a hobby I do on/off, because I don't always have the time for it.

Big fan of autumn actually, the rains a bit inconvenient but it’s almost cold enough to not be too warm and warm enough to not be too cold.

Also like spring for similar reasons, buts it’s usually a lot more stressful.

Books: I wish I read more but I can say I throughly have enjoyed catch-22, the shame series, gurneys works on art theory, I recently started reading the clan of the cave bear and it’s proving pretty fun.

Now I’m just also gonna list some comics cuz those are something I actually have read a few of: Hellboy, especially Hellboy in hell. Asterios polyp, the Lanfeust series but especially “of the stars”, Mangecour or hjærtedræber as it was called in danish, Order of the stick (if you like DnD and homestuck (especially How worst homestuck is) you oughta check This), stand still stay silent (rereading the prologue during lockdown was a real headfuck) also Scott’s works on comic book theory (understanding comics, making comics, reinventing comics) especially the first one it’s basically a necessity to really get what makes comics great.

Colors:

I’m quite keen of the various shades of green and blue, pinks and magentas are also cool.

Hobbies:

I fucking love mini painting and miniatures in general, when I finally get around to doing it, aside from that there’s also being a kinky dingus and playing music with other people.

What the kids think about Antonio and Lovino's friends?

Ariel tends to find them all interesting and will often invite them to her princess tea parties. Usually the ones that agrees are Roderich and Francis. Though she likely sees Roderich more so and enjoys his company they’ll talk about the composer’s work she’s learning to play. (He’s her piano teacher)

Lorenzo doesn’t really care for anyone except Alfred and Ludwig, but everyone believes its cause they usually have some type of food. Ludwig has a automatic pass cause he’s family.

Alejandro is just as much of a social butterfly like his father, it can be a bit scary. So he enjoys everyone’s company. Though he finds Francis very weird.

Just saw someone call AO3 a "cp-website" and I'm gonna just-

Like I know every time the Archive has a fundraiser some people will crawl out of the woodworks and spout bullcrap, but geez-

If you don't like AO3, fine, that's your opinion. But don't call it a "cp-website", nor demonize people who donate to their fundraiser, from which a large part of the funds goes to KEEPING THE SERVERS AND HAVING PROPER LEGAL PROTECTION.

You know one of the main reasons why AO3 was created? Because in the "old days", if someone didn't like the fact that you, I dunno, wrote some wholesome gay fic online, they could report it and you might just lose your whole fic without warning, because think of the children, right? And to really put icing on the cake, your account might be deleted too. 🙃

Or, like I experienced, it won't just be one or three reports that get your fic taken down. Critics United for example was a group of these ~lovely~ people who would go on people's fics and suggest (harass) the author on how to change their fic to be "improved upon" (aka sanitize the fuck out of it so there is no trace of what they saw as gross/bad/wrong/cringe/sinful/etc.). If they didn't manage to harass you into deleting, they'd just mass report you.

I got literal death and rape threats for writing a Spamano version of Beauty and the Beast, told I was a criminal and that my parents should've killed me in my crib.

ALL OVER A STUPID LITTLE SELFINDULGENT FIC.

They even went so far as to track my username down from Fanfiction.net to Wattpad, and only once I got it on AO3 was the story able stay up because they had no way of harassing or reporting me like they could before, because I could easily turn my comments off to "registered users only" or even to "moderate comments." and that scared them off.

This was in 2016 by the way. Not even a decade ago. Now I could even block people if I want on AO3, so it gets harder to harass me, even if I did care.

But like yes, I agree on the fact that fics with cp are allowed on the site is rather gross. I would never write nor read it. But you know what helps with this?

AO3 HAS THIS TAGGING SYSTEM IN WHICH YOU CAN TAG AND FILTER OUT THE THINGS YOU DON'T LIKE, SUCH AS FICS WITH THE UNDERAGE WARNING :D

And guess what? It works great! I never have to see fics with cp in it, because I filter my fics. And even if I see that I accidentally clicked on a fic like that? I click out of the page and move the fuck on.

People on AO3 can and have written the most repulsive shit known to man, but more often than not, it's tagged with big warnings in the description. I have read cringy and horrifying fics that still made me nauseous to think back on, that have changed how I look at certain characters. And guess what?

THEY STILL DESERVE TO EXIST AND BE READ BY OTHERS.

Besides, there is a very fine line as to what some people define concepts like cp. Like I define it as minors being forced/manipulated into sexual situations, while others might look at an adult anime character who looks like a little kid and say that they shouldn't be sexualized. We are both correct in our own digital space there.

I don't like "shota/lolita" nsfw stuff, others do, and so I am just letting those people be and I avoid that content. Same with scat, or watersports, or cnc. Avoid, click away, goodbye. I don't demand that all "they look young but they're actually an adult!" types of media should be banned, nor that people who enjoy (reading about) sex with bodily fluids should be publically shamed, or that people who consentually enjoy the dark fantasty of being forced should be treated like an actual rapist.

And that's really what this is about. Don't like it, don't read/look at it. This whole "but they are allowing xyz and I don't like that!!" argument is basically becoming the same right-wing argument as "but I see xyz as wrong/bad/a sin and therefor nobody should be allowed to enjoy it."

If AO3 were to be forced to ban one thing, like people dealing with their childhood SA by writing a fic about it, who is to say they won't be forced to ban something like CNC next? What about kink? Queerness? Because that is the road a lot of right-wing people want you antis to take.

It's a main reason AO3 has fundraisers. For the servers to stay up. For legal support when a company claims fanfic is bad. For times that those things might get more expensive to maintain.

And because AO3 is of the few websites that allow everyone, especially queer people, to make art and have that art be protected from those that wish to destroy anything they do not like. And yes, that protection includes protecting work made by "bad" people.

So chill, skip over that fic you don't want to see, don't donate to or interact with AO3 if you don't want to, and maybe touch some grass? That would be great.

nations who are good cooks

ok, i got a lot of ideas about this one too

romano: starting with the obvious. when he was living in america and working for alfred (seems like the interwar period?) he cooked for him along with being essentially a personal maid. and ofc its only natural that the representative of southern italy would be an amazing cook. in my human aus, i usually have romano either starting a restaurant or working as a chef, and in nation aus, i would imagine food is one of the areas he is never lazy in. if romano was at one point the representative of naples, than pizza would be a specialty of his (and he would have some STRONG feelings on all the different incarnations of pizza in america and arounf the world), along with pasta with seafood in it and dishes with salami. overall romano is def one of the best cooks out of all characters

antonio: ok, basically if spamano had kids their children would be blessed with amazing food no matter which parents cooking. antonio’s favorite part of cooking is watching others enjoy it. he loves having big dinners with his friends, like romano, ned, bel, francis, gilbert, and watching their reactions, seeing just how much they enjoy it. he’s kinda like when ur grandma coaxes u eat more even when ur full. and of course, olive oil is used heavily, perhaps even excessively, in all of his recipes. whenever romano asks him for a recipe for one of his dishes, antonio always refuses to give up the ‘secret ingredient,’ and everytime romano accurately guesses it’s (surprise!) olive oil

francis: i mean, he’s in the gastronomy or gastronomics or whatever they call it club in the hetalia academy episodes. and french cuisine is some of the most famous and delicious in the world. im not talking about the stupid little five-bite-and-ur-done french dishes they have at fancy restaurants, no, when francis cooks, it’s hearty, delicious, and filling. he’s especially skilled at making soups (even arthur cant deny that his french onion soup is absolutely amazing), quiches, and ratatouille, lots of so-called peasant dishes that will leave you full for hours and will make u feel warm and satisfied

sadik: yet another member of the gastronomy club in the hetalia academy episodes, sadik cooks very frequently in his free time (he’s another character who i often make a chef in my human aus). turkish cuisine, much like turkish culture, is influenced by a variety of different sources, like european, middle eastern, and asian, so i imagine that sadik is adept at cooking foods of different cultures around the world, and likes to incorporate flavors he considers ‘exotic’ into his dishes

yao: yao is shown to immediately want to care for people around him who are sick (such as immediately running to care for kiku when he has a cold) and i imagine him cooking for others is a big part of that natural instinct to care for those around him. now, im unfortunately only familiar with westernized chinese cuisine (which i hc that bc of yao’s appreciation of china towns and chinese diaspora around the world he would still enjoy westernized chinese food), so i cant really comment on specific authentic dishes, but think of warm soups and light snacks. those are his specialities. 

tolys: i imagine that in soviet times, ivan had tolys doing a million things at once, including being a personal assisstant/secretary, cleaning the house, and cooking. i dont think tolys would love cooking or consider it a hobby, rather something that needs to be done bc people need to eat, but after years of cooking for the other bloc nations, he’s grown pretty good at making a variety of eastern european dishes, like russian pelmeni, polish pierogi, lithuanian beet soup, or ukrainian borscht, whatever ingredients he could get his hands on and whatever he could do to make the other bloc nations feel at home

gilbert: i only include gilbert bc i feel like although he wouldn’t be an amazing cook, he would be adept at throwing together an edible meal from found ingredients and anything he can get his hands on. the mans been a warrior/soldier his whole life, armys are not generally famous for their cuisine, so i bet over the centuries he’s become good at improving meals with found ingredients. he could make a decent meal out of some shit he found in the wilderness. i also bet hes amazing at making one specific dish—not sure what it is yet, still have to pick one — but just one specific food he can make on special occasions and everyone is blown away that ‘wow! gilbert can cook?’

FrUk: Good. They compliment each other. England does the physical caretaking/discipline well. France does the emotional side of things/support.

GerIta: Not great. I do not think they would do well with kids. Neither are fantastic at other people's emotional needs. The kids would have an attempt at a consistent schedule and some fun at least.

Spamano: Fantastic. They would be great parents. Very attuned to the kids. Flexible.

RusAme: Good! They also compliment each other. Russia would be good at the discipline part, America the dealing with stuff part. Both would spend so much time with thier kids.

AsaKiku: Alright. This kid would get no emotional support. They would come of it very safe though.

UsUk: Fine. I think they'd do just fine. They'd be very normal parents. I think they would argue a lot about parenting styles tho.

ItaPan: Bad. I don't think Feliciano is a great parent in any ship. They'd certiantly try.

RoChu: Good. They'd be good parents. They balance each other well. Thier kid might occasionly be allowed to do things that are a touch dangerous.

PruCan: They could be good, or they could be okay. I think Prussia needs Matt to pull him away from discipline and towards being more understanding. They compliment each other in terms of priorities with kids (safety and discipline versus emotional well being).

RomeChu: Bad. I don't think Rome is a good parent. He'd distract Yao from being a better parent (which he is).

RusPrus: Fine. I think they'd do a technically, on paper, good job of raising children.

*disclaimer: this is not to say any of these ships would not love thier children, I'm sure they all do. But it takes more than that to be a good parent.

Favorite Romerica fanfics not made by you?

I’m going to list some fics I really enjoyed and try to include a variety of authors here. This list isn’t necessarily comprehensive, and some reviews are more detailed than others, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I enjoyed those fics more. The last three fics are explicit, so keep that in mind before you click on those links.

Educating America by Coffee-Flavored Fate. Incomplete, but a classic for a reason. This is the perfect, frustrating slowburn with them both being ridiculous idiots in love (especially America). Copa de Amor, by the same author, is an adorable and complete coffee shop AU, and it’s Valentine’s Day themed.

Grow Old Together by MoyaKite: If you like Romerica in their nyo!versions, this is a perfect fic. Starts with them meeting as kindergartners, spans through them growing up, getting together, getting married, having children, and growing older. Very fluffy. Also has nyo! Gerita and nyo! Prucan in the background and FrUK as Amelia's parents.

tables, they turn sometimes by Positively: Human AU, Alfred and Lovino were in a relationship, but then Lovino got in a serious car accident and lost his memory of their relationship. It's a similar set up to The Vow, if you've seen that. Very angsty, with a hopeful ending.

An Adventure in Multiple Languages by AozoraNoShita: Nationverse. Romano runs into America after a meeting, and he can't speak English, so Romano tries to figure out what's going on and help America get back to normal. Features a protective Canada, multilingual America, and some cute flirting.

Discovery and Clarifications by Hanaritsu Krizza. Extremely cute high school AU where a ton of characters are into Lovino (including some people you wouldn’t expect), but Alfred is his boyfriend.

Worth It by Curreeus: Coffee shop and human AU. The Romerica here is adorable, and I love the way the author handled the past Spamano and SpAus too.

Surprisingly Observant by Seastar98. Huge cast featuring a ton of canon characters and a few OCs with a bunch of pairings listed in the tags, but the endgame Romerica is a bit of a spoiler. Starts with the cracky premise of America matchmaking the other countries, turns emotional and thoughtful really quickly.

you came in (electric shivers through my bones) by whatiwouldnotgive: A fic sent during Christmas. I liked the way the relationship was developed in this fic, and the smut was really hot. I’d need to re-read the fic to give a more detailed review, but strongly recommended.

Where I Go, When I Go There (Toccami) by GeneImperfect. Sensual, teasing established relationship smut. Also, hnnn, Alfred in a blindfold and gentle dommy Lovino hits all my kink buttons.

Among Rejected Dreams by @lluviadinoche: Amazing smut and glorious angst I could drown in. This fic broke my heart in a good way.

I’ve always been more interested in Spamano more than I have been other pairings and I’ve finally figured out how to put why in words which is too much of a dramatic phrase for this subject. So I’ve always and only seen this pairing in the way I’m about to describe. It’s a little long so bear with me

I like the thought of them meeting when they’re younger. The Roman Empire feels a connection with these two young beings like him who aren’t quite human. He decides to find them friends and Iberia has just found two other children running around on the land over there. He sets them up to meet and the Italies know something is off about these two other beings. They don’t feel a connection to them like they do with each other and the Roman Empire. They just stare and eventually Rome has to accept that they’re not going to start laughing with them like other human children do with each other. It’s almost as if they know that these other children are bad omens.

They grow up surrounded by humans. They enjoy their games and food and clothes and songs. Spain loved them and Romano knew something wasn’t right. That humans somehow caused the Roman Empire pain. They grow up and start learning about the reality of them. How short their lives are and how they waste their time on hate. They see them kill each other for believing in one God and later killing each other for not believing in one God. They’re terrified of them and what they do. Romano takes refuge in avoiding humans whenever he can and sometimes that means running away to the countryside to just breathe. He doesn’t trust anyone so he hides from them before they could hurt him. Spain surrounds himself with them more and becomes a greedy charmer who punishes himself by grabbing another drink. He doesn’t trust them either so he works on finding ways of having the upper hand.

They meet again and they hate each other. Their bodies now make them look like they’re in their early twenties, but Spain had evidently grown faster than Romano. Or maybe Spain only looks 15 and Romano 12 so it’s hard to take the other seriously despite the centuries behind their eyes. Romano doesn’t like being controlled by an overgrown toddler. Spain doesn’t like having his authority questioned because he’s too prideful for his own good. They’ve already decided that humans are despicable and don’t know what they’re doing anymore since nobody listens to them anyway. Spain has since accepted that humans live their lives to make their pouches thicker. Romano doesn’t want to trust anyone still. So he keeps to himself and Spain continues smiling and bragging. It takes a while but suddenly they don’t remember how they ended up just watching the sun go down on some random hill. There’s a bottle of wine in each of their hands and Spain doesn’t remember when he started crying. Romano doesn’t remember resting his head on his shoulder. Neither of them remember feeling so at peace and cared for.

Nothing gets better but it becomes more bearable. Spain can just breathe around someone and Romano knows there’s someone who may be miles away but who’s still staying. Romano continues to live in South Italy and occasionally gets a letter about a new Spanish artist or one from the Flander regions. They take time to just walk around old villages and share a laugh with the old men who stand outside their homes. They gossip about what Spains heard about in court and Romano tells him what the wealthy Italian families have been commissioning. They laugh about it and share more gossip about ladies in towns whose names they’ll forget about. Spain tries to do his best to keep South Italy because life has just become bearable. When South Italy decides to be independent Spain rages. He feels like everything he’s become is about to be destroyed. He thinks he’s about to disappear. He’s still so prideful even when he knows it’s better this way. He needs everyone to stay where they are but Romano needs to think about his people. About himself. He feels as if Spain is only seeing him as a piece of land that he owns and he wants to be taken seriously. Spain feels as if he just started being taken seriously and now everything was falling apart and he doesn’t understand why this is what’s breaking him. He doesn’t know how to keep someone at his side without control or presents.

They don’t talk for a while and start beginning to be wrapped up in their worlds of politics. Time passes by so quickly and yet so slowly. Romano thinks Spain doesn’t want anything more to do with him and Spain doesn’t know how to befriend someone who he only wants to sit next to. It takes a while until they’re forced to meet again for political reasons. Seeing each other feels different from seeing other nations. They love talking to Belgium and others but seeing each other just feels different. They break down and suddenly they’re watching the sunset again over other bottles of wine. They finally let down their walls and just breathe next to each other. It’s just Lorenzo and Antonio sitting on a hill and watching mother nature paint. They start to reconnect and continue holding each other close so that the world could be bearable again.

Now they have phones to make it easier and they’re top on each other’s list for who they first call in the excitement of technology. They quickly make time to go on a lonely road and speed down it in a race to see whose car is faster. Romano shows off the culinary skills he learned in America and Spain shares what he’s missed while he was gone. They don’t remember falling in love. Romano remembers seeing Antonio snoring as he halfway falls off his couch and reaching for a pillow for when it inevitably happens and stopping for a second at the concern and giddiness. Spain remembers watching Lorenzo flirting with other girls and feeling weird about it even when he’s watched him do it so many other times before. They’re everybody’s worst nightmare when they’re paired up for country meetings. Romano’s watching the door while Spain messes with the seating arrangements because England pissed him off and that means they’re both mad at him now. They get to any of their homes and just fall on the couch and breath because life has finally become more bearable. It’s just Antonio and Lorenzo just being humans.

It’s a nice dynamic I think. This is only how I see them and I understand if others don’t see it that way. I just thought I’d share what I feel whenever I create for it or interact with it. It’s just two old men who desperately need to sit down and debate their favorite Renaissance artist. I like the thought of centuries going by and still looking at someone with so much tenderness. I love the thought of love being people who just like existing next to each other and sharing oranges with them. And I love when people let their guard down around someones who’s had their guard up for so long as well. Loving and knowing flaws and growing together! It’s really sweet, but I guess that’s how most people like interacting with historical country romances in this fandom, right? Having a love you can return to sounds very nice. I hope this made sense.

Married Romano (+Spamano)

Some people have been wondering what Lovino would do in response to Ludwig taking the Vargas name and suggested he would take his partner’s.

Romano is Grandpa Rome’s rightful heir. He was here first. Ludwig can fuck right off and change his name back.

If a partner expected him to change his last name, he’d slug them. Lovino Vargas will always be Lovino Vargas no matter who he marries.

Antonio is fine with this since his people don’t change their last names when getting married anyway. As long as they can hyphenate their children’s names (Fernandez-Vargas) he’s happy.
