He had spent his eternity traversing the cosmos, his only companions being whatever existed in the cold abyss of space. Which is why he felt so out of place here. Cookie Kingdom was a place built on many things, the most important being acceptance. The kingdom gates were open to cookies from all over Earthbread, welcoming anyone who walked through them with a warm embrace, which is precisely why he wanted to visit. But first, he had to find some winter clothes. The cold was never a problem for him, spending his life in space made him immune to it, but unfortunately, his friend wasn’t.

“This boutique is supposed to be the best one in the entire kingdom,” He explained, “If there’s anywhere willing to help you, they’re here. Now let’s get inside, you look freezing.”

“Kyou-kya!” Space Doughnut rushed past him, letting out an audible sigh of relief when they got inside. Stardust followed soon after, looking around the interior. The soft lighting was warm and inviting, a direct contrast to the harsh weather outside.

The boutique was filled with extravagant outfits of all kinds of fabrics and clothes, strewn throughout the room in a beautiful mess of color and texture. The walls were lined with various projects, and several pins and scissors were sat in boxes, (he had never seen such big scissors before). But despite it all, it had an air of elegance and class.

He was so enamored with the decor that he didn't notice his toroid friend had wandered off, rambling the ear of a poor cookie who didn't seem to understand a word he said. It was a dark beige-skinned cookie with light-colored hair tied into a bun that reminded him of thread. She wore a dark dress with a white shirt underneath that he figured she made herself, along with a chocolate beret with pins sticking out of it.

“I apologize, my friend here needs something to help with the cold,” Stardust explained, prompting Space Doughnut to nod in agreement. “If you’re not too busy that is.”

“I’d love nothing more than to help you both find something to wear!” She exclaimed, “I just need to finish with my client here and I’ll get right to you.” She walked off to the other cookie off to the side, which he hadn't even noticed was there.

“Are you sure I need all of this Mont Blanc?” You asked, gesturing to the collection of outfits she had on display. “I don't want to overwhelm you.”

“Of course you do, my dear!” She replied, waving off your concerns. “You’re a ruler, It would be wrong to let you go about your duties as nothing less than fabulous! Besides, the weather has been harsh lately, you’ll need something to protect yourself from the elements.”

“I guess, but I don't want to take too much of your time. You have other-” You were cut off by the sound of squealing you couldn't understand. The doughnut alien was gazing at you with wide eyes. “Uh, hello little guy? Do you need something?”

“Don…Don…Don!” It jumped in front of you, excited about being in your presence, even if you couldn’t understand why.

“They mean to say they’re happy to meet you.” You turned to see Stardust approaching you. “You figure out the patterns in their language once you’ve been around them enough.”

“Oh, hey you’re Stardust Cookie!” You grinned, before realizing it wasn't normal to just know his name out the gate. “Gingerbrave mentioned you to me.” You explained, hoping he didn't realize your mistake.

“I am, and this is my friend Space Doughnut.” He gestured to the friend in question who was still chattering in words you couldn't understand. “It’s an honor to meet you, Baker”

“Oh! So you already knew…” You trailed off a bit, “You can just call me [Name], it’s nice to meet you.” You said before Mont Blanc budded back into the conversation.

“I hate to interrupt a moment between new friends, but we still need to figure out what you’re going to wear!” She looked down at the alien, “And what we’re going to do for this little guy.”

“I think this one's a good fit,” You pointed towards one of the outfits she had out, “It looks the most comfortable, especially for the winter.”

“Ddoon-doon! Doon!” Space Doughnut seemed to agree with your sentiment, pointing, or rather leaning towards, the scarf around the neck of the mannequin. You grabbed it and tried wrapping it around them. It didn't hold well so you had to tie it into a bow to get it to stay.

“I think they like it, you outdid yourself.”

“Oh you flatter me too much, I just want every cookie,” She looked back at Doughnut, “or alien, to look their best. I’ll find another scarf for your outfit and have it ready for you.”

She didn't charge for the scarf despite your insistence, and let you all get on your way. You waved goodbye as she closed up the shop for the night.

“So, how long are you two planning on staying in the kingdom?” You asked.

“I’ve heard rumors about this kingdom being a welcoming place for all cookies.” He explained, “I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to learn more about Earthbread and its customs.”

“Well I’m glad you decided to come here, we’re more than happy to welcome new friends.” You smiled, “You don't have anything going on after this do you?”

“No, I don't suppose I do.”

“Great, because Sparkling Cookie is releasing his new winter menu today and he said I could try it out, I’m sure he wouldn't mind me bringing along a friend.”

A friend?

“Kyu Kyu!”

“Space Doughnut seems to like the idea, we’d love to join you,” Stardust said, desperately trying to hide his excitement. It wasn't every day that he was invited with such a benevolent figure.

You lead them both towards the juice bar, and he could've sworn he could smell raspberries and rum in the air. It reminded him of his travels throughout space, but what on Earthbread was making that smell? He thought for a moment, not noticing the purple flowers following your path.
