She was doing her usual - ghost hunting,alone,a small bag of ghost hunting tools to help her along the way in this creepy and 100% haunted old mansion,you could feel the bad vibes walking through the place,Scout using her phone for small snippets of her Instagram livestream,for the following she had. She had an EVP recorder in her other hand,asking various questions to the restless souls she knew were around and watching her - it was impossible to shake the feeling of eyes on herself walking through this place and she loved it - hell,she lived for this shit. It wasn't only a hobby for her,but it gave her an adrenaline rush,hence why she did this when she had the time. She hardly expects anyone else when she's exploring / investigating these places,so to see someone else was a little kick to get her heart rate going up. Surprise on her features as she spotted someone else doing what appeared to be the same exact thing she timidly speaks up,careful not to scare the shit out of them.

❝Guess I'm not the only one checking out this place.❞She makes her voice heard,and turns to her livestream,comments zooming up and down her feed,she grins to them,❝ Catch you guys in the next one,remember to leave comments and timestamps if you heard or saw anything. Love ya. Scout,signing off.❞She ends the stream quickly,and shoves her phone in her backpack,really hoping she doesn't scare off the other here.

❝Well,this is a first for me seeing someone else investigate the same place as me. Hi,I'm Scout and uh,it's nice to have someone living to talk to here. I've kinda been here a while now.❞

❝This place is great. I mean,I've never been but man,how rad would it be if we went together and investigated?❞She grins while showing him her phone,a site for an extremely haunted and abandoned asylum - somewhere Scout has never personally explored nor investigated an asylum,period. This was a huge deal and the excitement was too real,making her jittery - practically bouncing up and down.

She works under people like him. Perhaps they’re dressed a little nicer and don’t smell like a deli, but they all have that same glint in their eyes; like they’re humoring her. Like it’s cute what she does, but not exactly something to be taken seriously. And while those at her workplace may look at her that way thanks to her chosen field, she has a suspicion Lars just looked at everyone like that. 

“You’re a skeptic?” She questions, looking at him over her shades before they’re pulled off. “Why doesn’t that surprise me?” It comes out more condescending than she had intended.

There’s a soft sigh; she’s used to it. People hear hypnotherapy and assume it’s a sham or only used to convince someone to stop smoking. To Opaline it was, obviously, much more than that. “You don’t like psychologists? Or don’t believe in hypnosis?”

          ❝Hm... seems fake.❞ Her tone is matter-of-fact and frank, her expression is neutral while staring at the grainy images of what is supposed to be an ominous silhouette, partially obscured by columns of sycamore trees. Little does he know, he actually managed to capture a few photos of the spirit she’s been assigned to monitor and contain. Supposedly, it’s been classified as a spirit, but something else indicates that it’s an unequivocal beast of its own. The last thing she needs are a bunch of nosey investigators poking around things they clearly cannot handle without some miraculous intervention. 

           ❝Might be a bear.❞

“Huh. Well if I had a face like that, I’d be a major inconvenience on the world too.”

He already mentioned how he identified as an inconvenience, but that was beside the point. Goatee seemed like the kind who would self pity at any given chance, and Bender had zero interest in such an activity. But it was still good for a laugh. Which he was still recovering from, almost wheezing with hands on his knees.

   Zora can’t help but kind of feeling for Greer at that moment. It’s only in retrospect that they realize it’s a lot of the word ‘quicksand’ within a few phrases. That can be a bit much admittedly.

“I was just saying that life in general has less physical quicksand issues than one would have thought. But there are a lot of weird sinking situations that come up that I guess would evoke a similar feeling.“
