I just came across a documentary called Root Cause on Netflix about a man whose chronic illness was triggered by a root canal. Have you seen/heard about it?

Yeah, sometimes infection can take hold during those procedures, or a person can be allergic to the materials or something and it fucks up a lot of stuff. I’ve got two root canal teeth left, which will be getting pulled once I’m well enough to undergo more surgeries, cause no matter what they do to treat them they can’t get my body to stop rejecting them. It’s causing systemic inflammation and a lot of pain for me.

Some people’s bodies are just capable of fucking up in spectacular ways to the most routine of procedures and they don’t quite know why. But it’s more likely if you have something else going on, as far as I’m aware. The root canal just tends to be the catalyst for some people.

13 for Kylo

Unpopular opinion about XXX character?

This is hard because I no longer know what the popular and unpopular opinions are about Kylo! And so many of my opinions I recognize are really headcanons. 

I think it is canon that although Kylo is interested in Rey romantically, he isn’t romantically possessive, and a lot of the places that people point to trying to argue that point have other things going on that some Reylos are blind to because they are so caught up in looking at only Rey and Kylo that they miss the larger context. I’m not sure how popular or unpopular this is now, but it used to be unpopular and it’s definitely my biggest opinion right now about Kylo.

Also he’s a sub (okay, this is definitely a headcanon but what can I say, it’s a strong one)

like? My mother never hit me, by my father did.

I knew *why* he was hitting me, but the only thing it taught me was to fear going to his house on his weekends. It didn’t curb my behaviour, it just made me afraid.

I would NEVER inflict that fear on a child.

I seriously can’t fathom being able to justify hurting someone like that. Or how people can think that physically hurting someone in such a way that their emotional and mental state suffers ISN’T abuse??????????

The mental gymnastics it takes to go “yeah I was scared of being hit, and have all these symptoms of PTSD but clearly it was good for me” is just...asdfsdf

@soyeahso gets a pickle roll up made with assorted items from my fridge and pantry because fun share food doesn't have to be complicated nor take all that much time to be well recieved.

My roll up here is some pickled peperoncini peppers, sliced mozzarella and mild prosciutto salami.

After my hubs cleaned out the original stack, he went on to make a half dozen of these more for himself. So, for all the twiddling I did with fancy tomato jam and fruit salads, the thing he liked best turned out to be a sandwich minus the bread. Good times!

A: How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]? 

Since no fic was specified, I’ll just try to umbrella them all in there and say it usually has to either do with a theme in the story itself (a dance of titans about 3 important characters gravitating towards and dancing around each other, Aegis being the word for a diety’s protection) or a scene ( a proposal by any other name was a line in the fic and essentially sums up the whole fake dating/marriage running joke going on; Hypothermia because uhm, cuddling for warmth, and it basically being almost a thing right off the bat in chapter one. Also surprisingly several of the symptoms of hypothermia itself totally read like a sex scene about to happen: Shivering, shallow breathing, etc. hah!)

E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?

I don’t think I can think of a fic I’d like to write a sequel about right off the bat because I try to keep my stories as self contained as possible. I  want them to be all the aperitifs and main courses rolled into one so that by the time someone hits “the end” they walk away satisfied. Which makes it hard to think in terms of sequels… but who knows maybe one day I’ll take on another epic and just do it in a series.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

if my characters aren’t self-psychoanalyzing their every moves I feel like I’m doing it wrong, ahaha. I love, more than anything else, digging deep into my characters’ feelings and motivations and could wax poetic about what’s going on inside their heads, which is probably why my stuff is long af, but it’s satisfying to me and I enjoy the process of trying to figure out motivations. Every character should want something, even if it’s just a glass of water. I live by that. 

As for reading? give. me. blue-ball. inducing. UST. 

I’m such a sucker for slow burns. I like being made to suffer. Instant gratification is nice but it leaves me empty. I want to remember these stories until the day I die, and that only happens if i feel like I’ve been suffering right along with these characters until my heart aches, ahahaha. 

U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.

I have a few super weird crackship ones for other fandoms, like HP, and I will one day write that damn Jareth/Sarah story if IT KILLS ME. but only after I’ve finished all my reylo fics.

Grad school in general I guess, including getting accepted to Cambridge (I didn’t end up going because WOW expensive) and getting a full tuition waiver for my current PhD program
