recently got a super kind anon ask that wanted to see all the maps ive collected of nordsea over the years, and im like not proud of them but i do love how those islands actually looked sooo this is that! Idk how to make the map look good, its never been something i cared about and you can def see that so im sorry🫢 but yea this is sadly all the ones i could find.. its not a lot and im surprised i didnt save more of them?? but hope this is still kinda fun to look at😌

i’ve mentioned it before but i own two switches! i was too broke to get a regular switch back in 2020 so i got a switch lite and then saved up to get a regular one a year later! i knew pretty early on that i loved the decorating part of acnh and was always very focused on that, however.. i also listened a lot to all the older players who said that part of the fun is the “forever-town” and so i decided that i also wanted that… even tho i didnt treat nordsea as a forever-the-same type island since i just like redoing it too much! so i’ve had over 10 versions by now lol.. i like challenges and themes and all that after all💛

first map is the oldest one i have, u can see my starters lol! second one is the first ever finished version of nordsea, and the last one is the last 1.0 version that i really loved!

first map is the first version i did after 2.0 it was an autumn town, second one is from the winter version of nordsea and the last one is the one the da is set to right now👀(spring version from this season 2023)

looking at these makes me think.. i would never pick a map with two southfacing rivers anymore and would also not pick nordsea’s airport location since its close enough to res services that you can see it when you step onto the island! which can be hard to work with! but you know i’ve still managed to make it work in a way i liked over and over again?!! i like the challenge and i still like the idea of the forever island! this ask actually helped me make an interesting decision about nordsea that ive been thinking about for a while now.. but tysm for all the love for my little island over the years!!! i appreciate it so much!💛💛💛

well it’s been over a week so i figured i’d do an update on garlic since i started my morning with some plant care anyway!

so as you can see here, some small changes from last time. a few of the mature traps are dying—totally normal! plants get rid of old leaves all the time. i snipped these cause i’m used to maintaining a garden for looks so it’s a good habit to be in, but it’s also totally fine to leave them as is, shouldn’t have any effect on the plant at all.

what’s most cool to me though is all that new growth, wow! you can see it totally bursting in the middle with new shoots which makes me super happy. some of them are still trapless leaves like last time, but i did some reading on this and it’s probably due to not getting enough light. i have the plant in a southfacing window which is one of the brightest + has the longest sun exposure in my house, so there’s not much a can do there. however, some of the newer shoots actually look like they have immature traps growing on them, so the problem may have resolved itself? considering also giving it less water or actually switching to buying distilled water but i don’t think it’s necessary so far and it’s been doing great with the constant moisture. guess we’ll see!

the local plant nursery/garden center is basically 100% outdoors (they even moved the registers outside) and so I figured it was ok to go spend a bit of a Sunday afternoon wandering around for an hour looking at all the plants and buying some herbs and vegetables for my balcony garden and i must say I was filled with Lust for Houseplants and saved primarily by not having space in my apartment for them but -

once I move -

Grape ivy, or Cissus rhombifolia, is a member of the grape family. Also known as Cissus alata, it is native to the New World Tropics, from Mexico down to Bolivia, and over to Venezuela, Trinidad and Guyana. It’s a tough plant, not fussy at all with a vibrant growth habit and very tolerant of indoor and outdoor conditions. This image is from a recent July morning. It goes wild when I summer it on the balcony. The fresh air, south facing afternoon sun, and humidity makes it very happy. I water it every seven to 10 days, as it likes to dry out a bit between waterings. For fertilizer, I sprinkle used coffee grounds on the soil’s surface. I’ll also use 1/4 strength plant food diluted in my gallon watering can once or twice a month. Occasionally, I pinch the growth tips to encourage lateral growth to make the plant bushy and full. I’ve propagated it with some small cuttings dipped in root hormone powder in small pots with moist soil.
