Florida Amendment 4 polling
source: https://ballotpedia.org/Florida_Amendment_4,Right_to_Abortion_Initiative(2024)
these numbers are trending totally in the right direction. But reminder in Florida, this amendment needs a 60% supermajority to pass. So these numbers are extremely encouraging, assuming they're accurate
Florida currently has a six week abortion ban, one of the most draconian in the nation. And it's not easy to get to other states from Florida. Where I live in Florida? I could drive for 6-8 hours and still be in Florida, and worse, I'm surrounded by deep south states that are just as hostile to my human rights.
where I live in South Florida, it would require an eleven hour drive to NORTH CAROLINA to get a legal abortion after six weeks. It's one of the worst abortion deserts in the country now, which makes me sad. When I was 19 I had an abortion, I was living in Tampa, I was able to go to a clinic less than a mile from my home, there were no protesters, it was over and easy and cheap, and at 9 weeks when I realized what had happened, too late for current Florida law. I hate to think of women today having fewer rights than I did 25 years ago. It just breaks my fucking heart.
#florida#anyway please vote#it matters it really does#it will matter in florida if for no other reason than to give women health care??#abortion

Abortion funds that help people cover the costs of getting the procedure are struggling with money as the waves of donations that followed the end of Roe v. Wade have begun to dry up.
It’s led some of the independent organizations — which help cover expenses for abortions and associated costs, such as transportation, child care, and lodging — to scale back or even pause operations.
After the Dobbs decision in June 2022, many funds received large donations from Americans outraged at seeing the right to an abortion stripped away.
The National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF), which comprises 100 funds across the country, said its members disbursed close to $37 million to about 103,000 people from July 1, 2022, to June 30. That was an 88 percent increase in spending compared to the year before.
People giving money were so angry at the time that the gifts were described as “rage” donations.
But as the issue has faded from headlines, donations have too, even as demand for help and the costs for helping individual people have skyrocketed.
“We noticed with any sort of moment that happens, whether it is a certain election, an introduction of an abortion ban, or in this case, the overturning of Roe, there is this immediate desire to like, make a contribution to abortion funds or make contributions to the movement,” said Oriaku Njoku, NNAF’s executive director.
“While we appreciate the rage, giving what is actually required to make sure that people can consistently get the care they need is that long-term investment in abortion funds,” Njoku said.
When the Dobbs decision first leaked out, “money was thrown. People went into a panic and dollars were just raining,” said Chasity Wilson, executive director of the Louisiana Abortion Fund.
“Everyone was very mad, because it was in the headlines. It was national, all throughout the U.S. Things were changing pretty rapidly for people. So people were of course mad and they were giving a lot,” said Bree Wallace, director of case management at the Tampa Bay Abortion Fund. “And then a few months after that, it kind of died off.”
The large influx of donations changed how funds operated. Some were pushing money out the door to vastly expand the number of people they could aid. Others tried to save the extra money to boost their budgets long-term.
Wallace estimated the fund spent about $700,000 in 2023, but “we definitely couldn’t do that again this year.”
Donations dropped 63 percent from 2022 to 2023, Wallace said. The fund was previously able to help people across Florida but now is limited to people coming into or out of the Tampa area.
Wilson said individual donors are still keeping the Louisiana fund operational, but she added foundations and philanthropies have noticeably pulled back — a common refrain from funds in the South.
Almost every fund contacted by the Hill said they have seen a decrease in donations at a time when access to abortion care is much more expensive than it used to be. When abortion was still legal, abortion funds were mostly needed to help people drive to local clinics and cover the cost of the procedure.
For funds in the Deep South, the options for sending someone to an in-state clinic were extremely limited, so people had to travel out-of-state frequently.
But now abortion is banned or restricted in more than 21 states across the country, meaning people often must travel much further than before, and navigate an ever-changing landscape of local restrictions.
On top of the travel, abortions also cost more. A medical abortion using pills costs up to $200 more than it used to, according to Kenny Callaway, a health-line coordinator for the abortion fund ARC Southeast, which serves people in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The same amount of money doesn’t go nearly as far as it used to.
“There was a there was a time when we were helping like 20 people a week. Now we’re doing good to help two or three,” said Laurie Bertram Roberts, co-founder of the Mississippi Reproductive Freedom Fund. “We’ve been doing this for 10 years. In a lot of ways it feels like going backwards in our capacity.”
Before Dobbs, Mississippi only had one abortion clinic in the state. Bertram Roberts said the fund spent between $200 to $600 on average per caller. But now, the fund needs to spend between $1000 to $1500 just for people who need an abortion before 12 weeks’ gestation. If they are further along, the costs are significantly higher.
Most people in the state are making a 10-hour drive to Carbondale, Ill., a two-day trip that requires money for food, gas, and lodging.
“No disrespect to the rage givers. They enabled us to get a lot of people seen before Roe fell. Thing is, is that now we have these harder, higher standards to reach to get people to care. And we have less investment,” Bertram Roberts said.
Her organization stopped giving out funds for four months and only reopened at the beginning of January.
“It feels horrible. It feels gross. It feels like you’re letting people down, because you are. It puts you in a position to be like the gatekeeper of people getting access to care. And nobody wants to be that,” Bertram Roberts said.
When abortion was legal, it was not uncommon for funds to pause operations if they ran over their monthly budgets. But fund officials said there’s a ripple effect now, because when one fund closes or pauses, others step in to help.
“That is the reality for organizations like this. We do run out of funds and there are some people we cannot support,” said Callaway.

Tell us about Danny 🔫
Alright! Alright! Put the gun down. If you wanna know about my little South Park OC, it's under the cut that contain rewritten elements to Stick of Truth and a small ounce of Fractured but Whole
Danny is the new kid in South Park. He and his parents moved there from Tampa, Florida after an incident that Danny was the catalyst for that he can’t remember due to the medication his parents got him on. It makes his brain all foggy so it’s hard for him to recall what happened before they moved to South Park other than they hopped from hotel to hotel a lot. The majority of the time, the pills made him sleep, so it's hard to tell what is real and what's fake.
His mom, Bianca, is Italian-American and came from Brooklyn. During the events of SoT, she is pregnant with Danny’s baby brother. She works at the abortion clinic as a receptionist.
His dad, Gan, is Thai-American and came from Mesa, Arizona. He and Bianca met when Gan moved to Brooklyn to pursue maintenance work at some apartments there and the rest is history. He now works at the retirement home as a maintenance worker.
Danny does look more like his mom, but has his dad’s nose and skin tone. Because of his upbringing, he knows Thai, English, and some Italian words and phrases (at least enough for a basic conversation).
He's a 4th grader (so around 9ish years old) and was to start going to South Park elementary the Monday after they moved in. He's soft spoken at first due to being unable to recall his life before South Park, but he slowly starts to recall things over the course of playing with the other kids as the days went by and became more crazy.
A running gag in the SoT arch of his story is that he's always trying to correct Cartman and the other human kids, getting progressively more angry as time goes on. Butters, however, calls him by his chosen name for the game, 'Daniel the Rogue' (He chose the thief class because he can be quiet and mysterious), but only when Cartman isn't around. When he was taken to the Elves, he actually felt more welcome with them given they would call him by his chosen title and said it in a way that made him feel included in the game rather than just another rando. It's no wonder he chose to betray Koopa Keep and lead the goth kids to Kyle.
A major plot hook I got rid of was the fact that Danny doesn't fart, but the boy can belch. Everything involving farts and butts kind of weirds me out, so I wanted to keep it to a minimum with Danny and focus on another equally gross bodily function. To counter balance everything, Danny will ocassionally get acid reflux and puke if he burps too much.
He still, however, would still have to fart on a man's balls for the sake of plot.
I have yet to play The Fractured but Whole, but I can tell you he hates the name Cartman yet again gave him, which would be Belchsack, for his super hero name. When he's sent to infultrate the other franchise with Professor Chaos, I think he's paired with Mysterion at one point and they have a heart to heart due to Danny not looking like he's having much fun with playing super heros like he did with the fantasy characters. Danny would tell him it's because he yet again didn't get a say in his name and he was upset that people won't listen to him.
Mysterion let's him rant then asks what he'd want to be called instead and starts to call him that, which seems to lift Danny's spirits about playing super heros with the other kids. At this time, his parents had been sneaking his medication into his dinners, so his memory starts becoming hazy again and he hates how he can barely remember his adventures now.
I can't think of anything else to talk about with him at the moment, but I'll try to sketch out a family portrait and post it when I can. If you want me to give context to anything, let me know. <3

Cousins' Record-Breaking Night Propels Falcons to Overtime Thriller Against Buccaneers
Cousins' 509-Yard Night Lifts Falcons Over Bucs in OT Thriller
By: Joseph Correa
It was a game that will be remembered for years; the Atlanta Falcons emerged victorious in a 36-30 overtime stunner against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. The NFC South showdown turned out to be so much more than a divisional clash; it was a showcase of offensive firepower, resilience, and the emergence of the Falcons' true potential.
Kirk Cousins: A Night for the Record Books
At the heart of Atlanta's triumph was quarterback Kirk Cousins, who put on a performance for the ages. Cousins shattered expectations and the Falcons' record books, amassing an eye-popping 509 passing yards - a career-high and franchise record. His stellar night placed him in elite company, becoming just the 13th player in NFL history to throw for 500 or more yards and four or more touchdowns in a single game.
Cousins' journey through the game was nothing short of a rollercoaster. Despite his prolific numbers, he found himself in a precarious position late in the fourth quarter. With 1:52 left on the clock and trailing 30-27, Cousins forced a pass into double coverage, resulting in an interception that seemed to seal the Falcons' fate. At that moment, Next Gen Stats gave Atlanta a mere 5% chance of winning.
But Cousins, demonstrating the resilience that has become a hallmark of this Falcons team, refused to let that mistake define the game. After the defense made a crucial stop, aided by a penalty that knocked the Bucs out of field goal range, Cousins orchestrated a game-tying drive that culminated in Younghoe Koo's clutch 52-yard field goal as time expired in regulation.
The overtime period saw Cousins at his most clinical. Despite losing star receiver Drake London to injury, Cousins didn't miss a beat. On the very next play after London's exit, he connected with KhaDarel Hodge on a spectacular 45-yard touchdown pass that ended the game in dramatic fashion.
Hodge's Game-Winning Heroics
Hodge's game-winning reception wasn't just a great play but a statistical anomaly. According to Next Gen Stats, Hodge reached a top speed of 19.70 mph on the play - the second-fastest speed of his career as a ball carrier. What makes the play even more remarkable is that Hodge was expected to gain only 0.4 yards after the catch. Instead, he generated an additional 39.6 yards after the catch over expected, turning what should have been a routine completion into a walk-off touchdown.
The improbability of the play cannot be overstated. With a completion probability of just 0.03%, Hodge's touchdown stands as the sixth-most improbable touchdown reception of the entire NFL season thus far.
Falcons' Offensive Explosion
While Cousins and Hodge provided the final fireworks, the entire Falcons offense showed its true potential throughout the night. The wealth was spread among multiple receivers, addressing previous concerns about the distribution of targets.
Drake London had a monster game before his overtime injury, hauling in 12 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. His clutch 14-yard reception in the final seconds of regulation set up Koo's game-tying field goal, and his early overtime catches of 6 and 18 yards set the stage for Hodge's heroics.
Kyle Pitts, whose involvement had been a point of contention in previous weeks, finally got his due with seven crucial catches for 88 yards. Despite a costly drop in the fourth quarter, Darnell Mooney contributed two touchdown receptions.
The Falcons' ground game, typically a strength, wasn't as productive as usual. However, this only highlighted the versatility of their offense and Cousins' ability to carry the team when needed.
Buccaneers' Bright Start Fades
On the Tampa Bay side, the game was a tale of two halves. Quarterback Baker Mayfield started the night in scintillating form, throwing for 131 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone. He looked to be in total command of the offense, save for an early throw that could have been intercepted.
However, the Buccaneers' offense stalled dramatically after halftime, managing only six points in the entire second half and overtime. Mayfield's production dropped precipitously, with just 49 passing yards after the break. Despite this, he showed grit by picking up key first downs with his legs late in the game, even after absorbing a brutal sack at the end of the third quarter.
The Bucs' offensive woes were compounded by a crucial fumble from running back Bucky Irving late in the game on what could have been a game-sealing drive. A missed facemask call against Irving further hurt Tampa Bay's chances.
Defensive Struggles for Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers' defense, which had been a strength in their previous game against the Philadelphia Eagles (registering six sacks and allowing only 227 total yards), was overwhelmed by the Falcons' aerial assault. Playing without starting safeties Antoine Winfield Jr. (missing his third straight game) and Jordan Whitehead (injured during the game), the Bucs' secondary was picked apart.
Cornerback Zyon McCollum had a mixed night, making some good plays but also allowing two touchdowns. Slot defender Tykee Smith struggled throughout the game, notably missing a tackle on one of Mooney's touchdown receptions.
It wasn't just the secondary that had issues. Veteran linebacker Lavonte David, despite making a potentially game-clinching interception late in regulation, struggled in coverage throughout the night. His teammate K.J. Britt also had difficulties in coverage and committed a costly unnecessary roughness penalty.
Falcons' Victory: Sweet but Not Without Concerns
For Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, the victory must have been particularly sweet, coming against the team he once coached. However, as crucial as it was, the win also highlighted areas of concern that the Falcons will need to address moving forward.
Special teams errors were abundant, including two missed field goals by Koo (one blocked in the fourth quarter), allowing kick returns of 53 and 39 yards, and a delay of game penalty before Koo's game-tying kick. Defensively, cornerback A.J. Terrell dropped an interception on the first drive, leading to a Buccaneers touchdown, and the secondary struggled to contain Mike Evans early in the game.
Offensively, while prolific, the Falcons hurt themselves with penalties, committing six of them in Buccaneers territory alone.
Looking Ahead
This victory propels the Falcons to a 3-2 record and a share of the NFC South lead, with crucial tiebreakers over both the Saints and Buccaneers. For Tampa Bay, the loss drops them to 3-2. It erases their early-season division lead, raising questions about their ability to secure a fourth consecutive NFC South title.
As both teams look ahead to their next divisional matchups - Atlanta traveling to Carolina and Tampa Bay facing a stern test in New Orleans - the implications of this game will linger. The Falcons have shown their offensive ceiling but must clean up mistakes to reach their full potential. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers face questions about their defensive consistency and ability to maintain offensive production for a full sixty minutes.
In the ultra-competitive NFC South, games like this can define a season. As the Falcons savor their hard-fought victory and the Buccaneers regroup, one thing is sure: the battle for divisional supremacy is far from over, and every week will be crucial in determining who emerges on top.

How Hyperbaric Oxygenation is Restoring Brains damaged by AHI, Burn Pits, BLAST/TBI/PTSD/Concussion
"You cannot fix what you will not face." James Baldwin A burst of energy, spurred by continuing scientific evidence, clinical results, and state legislative actions, have energized the BLAST/TBI/PTSD/Concussion/AHI communities. In January, 2024, Senators Warren, Tillis, and Ernst sent a letter to SECDEF seeking answers to a dozen questions related to the crisis of Blast injury. On April 11, 2024, 14 bipartisan Senators (8-D; 5-R; 1-I) introduced the "Blast Overpressure Safety Act." It is a bill to amend title 10, United States Code, to clarify roles and responsibilities within the Department of Defense relating to subconcussive and concussive brain injuries and to improve brain health initiatives of the Department of Defense, and for other purposes. Importantly, it establishes two comprehensive initiatives for brain health: the ‘Warfighter Brain Health Initiative’ and the SPECIAL OPERATIONS BRAIN HEALTH AND TRAUMA PROGRAM. The goal of each is unifying efforts and programs across the Department of Defense to improve the cognitive performance and brain health of members of the Armed Forces. **A senior member of the Senate is holding additional hearings to seek answers to a question with few answers from responsible parties in DoD: What more can be done to treat and help heal debilitating symptoms allegedly caused by Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI, aka Havana Syndrome). **In May, 24 members of Congress sent a letter to the Comptroller General of the GAO requesting "a Government Accountability Office (GAO) review of DoD efforts to identify, prevent, and treat traumatic brains injuries related to service members’ exposure to blast overpressure." The GAO's response in June said they will commence their research within four months. **Meanwhile, the TreatNOW Coalition continues to use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to treat symptoms of TBI/PTSD/Blast/AHI with continuing success. - Marines and other victims of BLAST related to widely-reported stories our of Syria and IRAQ continue to receive HBOT therapy, with life-altering success. - Burn Pit victims continue to be successfully treated with HBOT for the myriad of polytraumas resulting from combat in war zones infected by Burn Pit toxins. - AHI victims have begun receiving pro bono treatment with HBOT across the country. Three have completed treatment with enormous success. **Unfortunately, neither the DoD, the VA, State, nor the IC have seen their way clear to provide immediate treatment to the hundreds of thousands of brain-wounded victims of attacks, blasts, combat, training, or accidents. The NICoE continues with a standard of care that is far short of what badly treated brain wounded can receive outside their confines of drug and talk therapy mated to palliative care. Over 150 private HBOT clinics and 1,200 hospitals across the country administer HBOT medicine where the DoD and VA cannot and will not. Ironically, certain parts of the USG will allow donations and the patriotic pro bono efforts of private HBOT clinics to do the job that military medicine refuses to permit: healing brain wounds. **The states of Kentucky and Virginia have added additional funds to their initial legislation in the last two years calling for the use of HBOT for TBI/PTSD/Blast at the state level. Information on the Kentucky program can be found here. The HOW Foundation and the Extivita Clinic in Durham, NC can provide more information on Virginia and North Carolina programs. **Researchers at the University of South Florida in Tampa received $28M for a clinical trial to replicate data from 21 other clinical trials pointing to the safety and effectiveness of HBOT on individuals with symptoms after a traumatic brain injury (TBI) with or without symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). **And Dr. Alison Bested at NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale continues her second clinical trial demonstrating how HBOT used for TBI/PTSD helps heal and virtually eliminate suicidal ideation. Her results continue to show consistent and long-lasting efficacy. The validity of using HBOT for wound healing to the brain is validated in the most recent research. Unsurprisingly, delivering oxygen under pressure safely and economically leads to effective wound healing. And numerous other interventions for comorbid maladies have a much better chance of effectiveness when the concussion cascade is interrupted and reversed. ****************************** The TreatNOW Mission is ending service member suicides. Along the way, we have learned that we can end suicidal ideation, help end symptoms of PTSD, get patients off most of their drugs, and heal brain wounds to end the effects of BLAST injury, mild TBI Persistent Post Concussive Syndrome, and polytrauma from AHI and Burn Pits. www.treatnow.org Heal Brains. Stop Suicides. Restore Lives. TreatNOW Information provided by TreatNOW.org does not constitute a medical recommendation. The Benefits of Immunotherapy Shots: Are They Worth It?
Allergies can be a significant burden, affecting everything from daily comfort to overall quality of life. For many, over-the-counter medications and lifestyle adjustments only offer partial relief. This is where immunotherapy shots, formally known as allergy shots, come in. These shots offer a long-term solution to managing and potentially eliminating allergy symptoms. But are they worth it? Let’s delve into the benefits of allergy shots to help you decide.
Key Benefits
Immunotherapy allergy shots are basically a treatment plan which is designed to decrease the sensitivity to allergen particles. By gradually introducing small, controlled amounts of an allergen into the body, the immune system becomes less reactive over time. This process can significantly reduce or even eliminate allergy symptoms. Here are some of the benefits of allergy shots:
Long-Term Relief
One of the most significant advantages of these shots is the potential for long-term relief. Unlike antihistamines and nasal sprays, which only manage symptoms temporarily, immunotherapy targets the root cause of allergies. Many patients experience lasting benefits even after completing their course of treatment. To have safe and secure allergy shots, you may contact Advanced Allergy and Asthma Care, PLLC. Being one of the leading South Tampa clinic, we provide top-notch services for allergy patients.
Reduction in Allergy Symptoms
Allergy shots can dramatically reduce the severity of allergy symptoms. Common symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and congestion can become much less frequent and severe. For individuals with severe allergies, this can be life-changing.
Prevention of New Allergies
Interestingly, immunotherapy shots may also prevent the development of new allergies. By stabilizing the immune system’s response to allergens, the risk of sensitization to new allergens can be reduced, particularly in children.
Potential Asthma Relief
For those who suffer from both allergies and asthma, immunotherapy from Advanced Allergy and Asthma Care, PLLC can offer dual benefits. Allergies often trigger the symptoms of asthma, and by dropping allergic reactions, asthma control can recover. This dual benefit can lead to fewer asthma attacks and a reduced need for asthma medications. We also offer allergy testing back patches and other allergy associated tests and treatment plans.
Improved Quality of Life
Overall, the combination of reduced symptoms, fewer medications, and long-term relief significantly enhances the quality of life. Individuals can enjoy outdoor activities, pets, and other aspects of life that allergies previously made difficult or impossible.
Considerations and Potential Drawbacks
While the benefits of immunotherapy are compelling, it’s essential to consider the commitment involved. Treatment typically requires regular shots over several years, particularly in the first few months when shots may be administered weekly. Some patients may experience mild side effects, such as swelling at the injection site or mild allergic reactions.
For many allergy sufferers, the benefits of immunotherapy shots far outweigh the drawbacks. However, the decision to start immunotherapy should be made in consultation with an allergist of Advanced Allergy and Asthma Care, PLLC, who can provide personalized advice based on your specific allergies and health profile.

Where to Find Benefits of Botox and Fillers in Florida
For many South Florida residents, the benefits of Botox and fillers offer an alternative to invasive procedures. Botox is a cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, which is administered through injections. It works by temporarily reducing wrinkles and creases around the eyes and forehead. The effects of Botox last about three months, but repeat injections can help keep the results longer.
Botox can be used for most adults who have mild to severe signs of aging. Some patients get the treatment to reduce the appearance of crow's feet or laugh lines, but it can also help with migraines and chronic sweating. If you are interested in the procedure, visit a plastic surgeon who specializes in it. Depending on your needs, you may also want to consider a filler, such as Dysport. These options can make a significant difference in the way your skin looks.
Both fillers and Botox work by restoring lost volume. Botox will also improve the way you look by relaxing facial muscles, which can cause wrinkles to appear. Fillers also smooth the surface of your skin. To find the best plastic surgeon for you, consult with a cosmetic surgery office in your area.
The best Botox clinic will be able to evaluate your medical history and determine whether you are a good candidate. This includes a discussion of your goals. During this consultation, your physician will examine your skin and muscle movements to determine where to best inject the product. Your skin should be clean and dry before the procedure. During the procedure, a small needle will be inserted directly beneath the skin. A topical anesthetic can be applied to numb the area. Afterwards, you can resume your daily activities.
Most Botox treatments last from three to four months. You will need to have regular follow-up appointments to maintain your results. There are no risks with botox, but some people experience minor bruising or headaches. In some cases, a person may develop an allergic reaction.
If you are interested in finding out more about the process, you can visit the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons' website. They have a directory of board-certified plastic surgeons in the state. Each doctor will be happy to answer your questions, and you can also request a virtual consultation. Whether you live in Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota, or any other part of the state, you can benefit from Botox.
One of the benefits of getting a Botox injection is that it can improve your emotional well-being. The procedure will allow you to feel more confident in situations. Additionally, Botox can help you to sleep better. Since your muscles are tense, you won't be able to wiggle your face like you would normally. By relaxing your muscles, you can avoid feeling stressed and tired during the day.
Before your procedure, you should take photos of yourself. Selfies can help you to judge how the injections are going. Also, ask your physician about all of the fillers that they offer.
