Ok one and only post I’m gonna make on this topic, uhh

Can we all agree that people are allowed to like OR dislike a headcanon, characterization, fanon, etc. WITHOUT it reflecting anything about morals? Like let people like things but also let people criticize and dislike things, let people talk about it, and stop acting like it says something about their character as a person. Nobody is a bad person for having a harmless opinion about a silly headcanon.

In the same vain, while there’s nothing wrong with sharing your experiences as part of a minority group, nobody speaks for a whole community. Nobody can singularly declare things as okay or not okay as a gay person, person of color, Jewish person, etc. All we can do is share our own personal experiences and how they shape our opinions! And try to remember that everyone is different and that’s okay!!

In summary please calm down y’all it’s just fandom, it’s just supposed to be for fun, if it stops being fun just stop interacting with it.

So I’m on a trip with some family cause we’re impulsive people and keep adding stops and detours to our already long trip across the country. One of these detours was to see Mount Rushmore which added a few more hours to our trip. We made it to South Dakota around 1am today and went to the mountain later in the morning and all we got was this.

I don’t have a picture of the mountain but it wouldn’t matter because there was just fog everywhere. It only cleared up a little that you could vaguely see the outline. I ended up getting a chocolate bar and a ring from the gift shop but now I only have a chocolate bar cause apparently I lost the ring almost immediately after.

Anyway, gonna stop somewhere in either Minnesota or Wisconsin for the night later before heading to Chicago to stay for a day or too. Hopefully I can visit one of my childhood homes in Indiana for a little before we move on to New York.

Surprise at Roper Yard by James Belmont Via Flickr: A random visit to Rio Grande's Roper Yard in South Salt Lake yielded this rarity on May 7, 1977. Rio Grande Water Car X010858, built in July 1915 (!), was parked on the east side of the yard near the diesel shop. This car would make a fun modeling project.

For good, old-fashioned Bosnian home-cooking, Old Bridge Café offers some unique dishes in a casual setting. The owner is the server, manager, and the main cook, so expect a leisurely meal. He is from Bosnia and he opened the café in 2010. Everything is made from scratch. They’re known for their cevapi (housemade sausages) and the Old Bridge Platter (a sampler platter) seems to be the most popular choice. Portions are large.

The menu includes soups, salads, breakfast, main courses (shish kebab, cevapi, pljeskavica, dolma, sarma, etc).

Beef goulash ($15): I haven’t had goulash in decades…this version was quite soupy (I was expecting more of a stew) and chock full of chunks of beef beef, potato, bell peppers, paprika, carrots, green beans, etc. It tasted like it had been simmered for hours. The scoop of rice made it a hearty meal – and it was also served with a thick flatbread (similar to pita). Enjoyed the homey flavors and the goulash was not too salty.

Old Bridge Café also sells a selection of European groceries (candy, snacks, cookies). I think there might be a cash discount?
