Moncks Corner, SC - A Bit of History
Moncks Corner, South Carolina, is a beautiful small southern town known for its rich history and charm. The town was named after its landowner, Thomas Monck, but it has been settled by indigenous people for thousands of years. The Edistow tribe, now the Wassamasaw Tribe of Vernertown Indians, inhabited the area before anyone else. Moncks Corner was a major hub of South Carolina's commerce during colonial times, with the Cooper River and rural roads providing an artery to the colonies in the backcountry. The Santee Canal, "America's first true canal," operated between the Santee and Cooper rivers from 1800 until the railway between Columbia and Charleston was completed in 1840. During its heyday, it moved goods up and down its 22-mile length, but its use slowly dwindled until its charter was revoked in 1850.
Corn Maze
The 20th anniversary of the Corn Maze will be celebrated in 2024, with a new 7.5-acre corn maze designed and mapped by MazePlay of Firth, Idaho, using the latest GPS technology. The maze is designed to challenge map-reading skills and offers a full 3-mile challenge or a kid-friendly 4-mile path. Smoking is not permitted on the property, and vehicles must stay within designated parking areas. Visitors must remain on the paths in the corn maze to keep themselves safe and the corn from growing back if knocked down. The ground is rough and uneven, and visitors must stay within designated roped-off areas for everyone's safety. There are no bare feet allowed due to rough terrain, stones, etc. Also, alcohol, drugs, or persons under the influence of either are not allowed.
Lottery Proceeds for Educational Support
The SC Education Lottery legislation mandates that lottery proceeds should be used to support educational improvements and enhancements as provided by the General Assembly. The Legislature decides how lottery funds are appropriated. According to the report, since its inception in 2002, the Legislature has appropriated over $5.4 billion through fiscal year 2018-19 in supporting various educational programs. Lottery numbers are unofficial until verified by the S.C. Education Lottery.

Good morning
I propose that Minimum based wages and salary get a big raise in all regions cities towns and countries California pay $ 20 to $ 22 dollars an hour New York City $ 15 to 17 $ dollars an hour for base salary how about all cities and regions and places like Atlanta , Texas and Louisiana, Kentucky , Alabama raise their pay standards for its every day worker to that same amount of starting out at $ 22 dollars an hour call it eliminating the working poor and poverty in general and paying them a livable wage , pay your workers generously and they will provide better services for your company and represent your companies better with pride and having customers coming back to their second home your store and establishment . This is very sad and needs attention to this some states where people go to work and provide years of hard work to work and get nothing in return from their employers they give great service and keep their customers coming back and yet the minimum wage been stuck since 2009 while so much states have give their workers a raise that is a shame I hope they catch up me and Governor Andrew Cuomo raised for New York state and city and other cities with my incubator my machine and other cities and states followed suit California pay their workers $ 20 dollars now imagine every state in those regions raise their wages to the same amount at $ 20 dollars an hour in Texas , Atlanta , Louisiana , Tennessee, North Carolina and even South Carolina out there hopefully they carry on from there and all states and cities follow suit and raise their wages and pay their workers their fair wage .
Get the message , we made progress if you look at the pay where it used to be now we just need to get these employers to pay us a lot more they get tax benefits to pay you more and we need employers to decrease the taxes on our paychecks , so we can afford to make it to work and to be able to work at a place and a boss we enjoy .

Governor Maura Healey -
Every taxpayer dollar is focused on making life better for all who live and work in our state."Legislators packed the budget with policy provisions, authorizing free community college, free rides on regional transit services, and legal online Lottery sales to fund a permanent Commonwealth Cares for Children (C3) grant program that launched during the pandemic with federal dollars — all of which Healey signed off on Monday. The governor also touted the budget's investment in her "Literacy Launch" program, which aims to connect all children from three years old to third grade with high-quality and evidence-based reading instruction, as well as its dedication of 1 percent of total spending to environment and energy initiatives. The Senate initiative to make community college permanently free for all will cost $117.5 million, covering tuition and fees for students. And the House-backed idea of authorizing online Lottery sales is projected to pull in $100 million for the popular C3 early education grant program. Another section of the budget aims to prevent so-called home equity theft, which refers to a municipality taking more of a property owner's earned equity than is owed in unpaid taxes and other expenses."All of these investments are focused on making life better, making life easier for people in Massachusetts, making it more affordable to live here, to work here, to raise children here. This also makes us more competitive — more competitive for our employers, for economic growth, particularly as we compare ourselves to other states," Healey said. "So it's a really important investment, this budget."

How does a credit union work?
A credit union is a self-help co-operative whose members pool their savings to provide each other with credit at a low interest rate. To be part of a credit union you have to share a common bond with other members. This is something you all have in common such as: living or working in the same area.
How do credit unions make money?Any income the credit union generates through interest, fees and loans is then used to fund community projects, reinvest into the organization or provide services that directly benefit members, like paying higher savings interest rates.Jun 22, 2023
What is the difference between a credit union and a mutual savings bank?
Credit unions are exempt from federal tax and most state taxes. Mutual savings banks pay taxes, including federal income tax. If [insert name of credit union] converts to a mutual savings bank, these additional expenses may contribute to lower savings rates, higher loan rates, or additional fees for services”.

Why would you use a credit union?
Profits made by credit unions are returned back to members in the form of reduced fees, higher savings rates and lower loan rates.

Most of The Biggest US Lottery Jackpots Were Won Within the Past 5 Years
The United States has a long history of lottery games, with the first known instance dating back to the 18th century in colonial America. However, it wasn't until the mid-20th century that lotteries were officially legalized and organized state-by-state. Today, 44 states and the District of Columbia operate lotteries, with the proceeds going towards various causes such as education and veterans' services. If you want to learn more about the lotteries in your state, you can visit the US lottery informational page. Despite the long history of lotteries in the US, the biggest jackpots have been won in recent years. Most of the largest lottery jackpots in US history have been won within the past five years. Mega Millions and Powerball: The Big Players Mega Millions and Powerball are the two biggest lottery games in the US, with jackpots regularly reaching hundreds of millions of dollars. These two games have seen some of the largest jackpots in US lottery history in the past five years. Other Lotteries Seeing Large Jackpots Mega Millions and Powerball may be the biggest lottery games in the US, but they're not the only ones seeing large jackpots. Other state lotteries have also had impressive jackpots in recent years. For example, the New York Lottery's "Cash4Life" game had a jackpot of $7 million in January 2020, the largest in the game's history. In February 2020, the Florida Lottery's "Fantasy 5" game set a record jackpot of an astonishing $210,000. The ten largest US lottery Jackpots ever won 1. On January 13th, 2016, three lucky winners from California, Florida and Tennessee took home an astonishing $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot. 2. On October 23, 2018, one lucky winner from South Carolina took home an astonishing $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot. 3. On July 29th, 2022, one lucky ticket holder from Illinois took home the incredible Mega Millions jackpot of $1.337 billion. 4. On January 22, 2021, an incredible $1.05 billion in a single ticket in Michigan won the Mega Millions jackpot. 5. On March 27, 2019, one lucky individual from Wisconsin became an instant millionaire with a single Powerball ticket—an unbelievable $768.4 million in prize money. 6. On August 23, 2017, one lucky person from Massachusetts won the incredible sum of $758.7 million in the Powerball lottery. 7. On January 20th, 2021, a lucky individual from Maryland made history by winning the incredible Powerball jackpot of $731.1 million. 8. On October 4th, 2021, a California resident struck it lucky and became the sole holder of an incredible $699.8 million Powerball ticket. 9. On October 27, 2018, two lucky ticket holders from Iowa and New York scooped up a jaw-dropping $687.8 million Powerball jackpot. 10. On March 30th, 2012, three lucky tickets from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland won a combined $656 million dollars in the Mega Millions lottery. Lotteries increasing popularity In addition to the large jackpots, lotteries have become increasingly popular among the general population. The convenience of online ticket purchasing and the ability to check results online has made it easier for people to participate in these games. Many states now offer mobile lottery apps that allow players to purchase tickets, check results, and even claim prizes from their mobile devices. This has led to an increase in the number of people playing lotteries and, in turn, in the number of large jackpots awarded. It's also worth noting that the trend of large jackpots in recent years can be attributed to the changes made in the lottery games, such as a larger pool of numbers to choose from and changes in odds of winning, which led to more rollovers and bigger jackpots. This has made lottery games more exciting and appealing to the general public, leading to increased sales and, ultimately, larger jackpots. Furthermore, Lotteries are also a significant source of revenue for the states. The proceeds from lottery sales are used for various public services such as education, veterans' services, and infrastructure projects. The increase in large jackpots benefits the lucky winners and the communities in which the proceeds are used. Conclusion The trend of large lottery jackpots in the US in recent years reflects the increasing popularity of lottery games among the general population, thanks to the convenience of online ticket purchasing and mobile apps, as well as changes in lottery games that led to bigger jackpots. Lotteries provide both a source of entertainment and revenue for the states, which benefits the communities they serve. Read the full article

How to Win Scholarships and Grants – State of South Carolina
The State of South Carolina offers various scholarship and grant programs. The financial aid opportunities are administered by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Below, we offer a list of these scholarship and grant programs along with links.
The prizes are designed to help college students access higher education. Students must be residents of South Carolina and meet other eligibility requirements based on financial need or merit. Another common condition of state-funded financial aid is the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal financial aid. However, it’s also used by states to determine your level of financial need.
Whether you’re a high school senior or an undergraduate student, it makes sense to apply for many scholarships. Scholarships help with the cost of college or university and can help you graduate debt-free. Having a track record of scholarship and grant wins can also expand your future career opportunities. With that being said, let’s get to the prizes.
South Carolina Scholarship Programs
Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship is a merit-based program recognizing the most academically talented high school seniors and encouraging these students to attend college in the state. Palmetto Fellows may receive up to $6,700 their freshman year and up to $7,500 for their sophomore, junior and senior years.
Additionally, students who major in mathematics and science may qualify for the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Enhancement.
For enhancement eligibility, Palmetto Fellows must declare a major in an approved math or science program and must also successfully complete at least 14 credit hours of instruction in mathematics or life and physical science or a combination of both by the end of the first academic year. Eligible students may receive up to $10,000(combined funds from the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship and the Scholarship Enhancement) per year beginning with their second/sophomore year of college enrollment.
It’s important to know that only school counselors can submit applications for Palmetto Fellows Scholarships. However, you may want to visit your guidance counselor to ask about how you may be the chosen candidate.
Legislative Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship
The Legislative Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program administered by the financial aid office at each eligible public and independent college and university in South Carolina.
The LIFE Scholarship may be used towards the cost of attendance for up to eight terms based on the student’s initial college enrollment date. Students must be enrolled in their first one-year program, first associate’s degree, first two-year program leading to a baccalaureate degree, first baccalaureate degree, or first professional degree.
SC HOPE Scholarship Program
The SC HOPE Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship created for students attending a four-year institution who do not qualify for the LIFE or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded during the freshman year of attendance only.
Students attending a four-year college will receive up to $2,800 including a $300 book allowance.
SC•WINS Scholarship
The SC•WINS Scholarship is a statewide technical college scholarship program designed to address workforce shortages in South Carolina. The Scholarship supplements Lottery Tuition Assistance (LTAP) to help cover any tuition and mandatory fees left after applying all other scholarships or grants. All credit-seeking students must maintain a 2.0 GPA each academic year.
Recipients can receive up to $5,000 per academic year after applying all other scholarships or grants. The scholarship may cover the cost of tuition, fees, and course-related expenses.
South Carolina Grant Programs
South Carolina Need-Based Grant
The South Carolina Need-Based Grant provides additional aid to South Carolina’s students with the greatest financial need. A student may receive up to $3,500 annually if enrolled full-time or up to $1,750 annually if enrolled part-time as a degree-seeking student at an eligible public institution.
To apply, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The financial aid office on each eligible state public college campus administers the South Carolina Need-Based Grant program, determines the students’ eligibility to receive grant funding, and the exact amount.
South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance Program
The South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance Program provides a supplemental resource to South Carolina residents at two-year public or independent institutions.
For the current academic year (fall, spring, and summer terms), eligible students may receive $85 per credit hour to be used toward the cost-of-tuition. In calculating the amount a student is eligible to receive in Lottery Tuition Assistance, all federal grants and the South Carolina Need-Based Grant must be awarded first. The institution at which the student is enrolled will notify each student of the exact award amount.
Eligible institutions include: all technical colleges, University of South Carolina (USC-Lancaster, USC- Salkehatchie, USC-Sumter, USC- Union), and Spartanburg Methodist College.
South Carolina National Guard College Assistance Program (SCNG CAP)
The South Carolina National Guard College Assistance Program (SCNG CAP) offers financial assistance to members of the South Carolina Army and Air National Guard by providing incentives for enlisting or remaining for a specified time in either the South Carolina Army or Air National Guard (SCNG).
SCNG CAP recipients may receive up to a maximum of $4,500 for the Army National Guard and up to a maximum of $9,000 for the Air National Guard per academic year. The cumulative total of all College Assistance Program benefits received may not exceed $18,000.
Find More Scholarships and Grants for South Carolina College Students
The above list of scholarships for South Carolina residents offer only a few prizes from a much larger pool. In addition to financial aid offered by the State of South Carolina, there are also many private scholarships that you may qualify for. Charities, religious organizations, corporations, not-for-profits, and other institutions offer scholarship awards to help students pay for college education. To help connect you with these opportunities, you can use our free scholarship finder.
If you’re a South Carolina high school student, you may also want to check with your guidance counselor about financial aid. On the other hand, if you’re already attending college, check with your institution’s financial aid office. Both of these resources can connect you with lesser-known local scholarships where competition will be less fierce.
In short, it makes a lot of sense to apply for scholarships. Winning money for school can help you graduate with fewer student loans and can help your student profile stand out for future career opportunities. Don’t wait another moment! Get started as soon as possible!

CH5 Making Logos & Marks
During this week I was out of class on a opportunity that will give me real world experience in my field. I was assisting the lead photographer on a commercial shoot for the South Carolina education lottery. I learned more from this experience in four days than I have in months of school. The amount of work behind the scenes for a 30 second commercial is breathtaking and fascinating. I got to talk and network with a lot of people including the Charlotte Hornets old creative director Josh Whiteside who is now a marketer for the SC Lottery. I got to talk to Josh during this entire experience and got answers to questions that people don’t get for years about the industry. One of the biggest things he taught me about was a mindset dealing with a professional sports team and what goes into not only making creative content, but business decisions. He talked a lot about how Charlotte went through a complete rebrand from the bobcats to the hornets. He said that this was a huge project where he had to think about every possible outcome of every single thing he did. Rebrands are expensive and any mistake he made could cost the company thousands or billions of dollars. The experience was great and I would do it again!

The States That Will Have the Best Fishing and Hunting Opportunities in 2022
In Ryan Mullins Hoboken’s opinion, the best states for hunting and fishing in 2022 will be determined by a variety of variables, including the proportion of the population who hunts and the availability of public land. Hunting customs and rules are also considered. To hunt lawfully in the United States, you must first get a hunting license. The minimum age to acquire a license varies by state, and you must complete a hunter safety education course before receiving a license.
The Ocean State boasts several fishing places, including the famed Ninigret Pond near Charlestown, the state's biggest coastal salt pond. Other famous fishing locations in Hawaii include the Kailua Kona Fishing Pier and Keahou Harbor. In addition to being a subtropical state, Florida is one of the top selling states for powerboats, although it ranks well below the other states in terms of Cost and Supplies. In Florida, fishing permits are more costly, and fishing equipment stores are few.
The Black Hills area is home to a diverse range of species, including moose, deer, and bear. Large lakes and cold-water streams teem with trout, largemouth bass, pike, and panfish. Whitetail deer, Merriam's turkey, and prairie dogs wander the hills all year. In addition to these species, hunters may also discover antelope, the majority of which are captured using archery.
South Carolina is a lovely state with a wonderful climate. The state provides a less dry transition between Kansas and Illinois, making it an ideal vacation destination. Another popular site in the area is the lake. Missourians enjoy the state's rivers and woodlands as playgrounds. Johnson Shut-Ins State Park offers rocky outcroppings and leisurely river floats.
Ryan Mullins Hoboken pointed out that when it comes to upland bird hunting, South Dakota reigns supreme, but Idaho is not to be overlooked. In this state, you may bag up to six different species in a single day. Idaho has almost a million deer. For big-game hunters, the state is home to some monster whitetail bucks. Waterfowl hunters should take advantage of the chance to hunt ducks along the Illinois River. Wildlife abounds, from ruffed grouse to wolves.
The Sierra Nevada Mountains encircle central California's fishing hotspot. Smallmouth and walleyes love the New River and its tributaries. The Mississippi Delta may compete with adjacent Arkansas as a wintering habitat for waterfowl. The Delta National Forest has a number of state wildlife management areas and national wildlife refuges. It also has some of the country's biggest game birds. Those that like big game can try visiting Cody in New York.
Iowa has a thriving deer population. Its nearly 300,000 acres of public property make it a great location for hunting giant bucks. Non-resident hunters, on the other hand, must join a lottery and acquire preference points to be able to buy a buck tag. If you have the patience and determination to wait, you will be rewarded with a trophy buck. The only catch? It's a huge one if you don't have a license.
Louisiana is home to some of the best waterfowl hunting in the country. The marshes in south Louisiana are renowned as "America's Wetland." The Chenier Plain supports up to nine million ducks. The Sabine and Lacassine national wildlife refuges in the state's south are accessible via shallow-running duck boats. The state is home to some of the nation's greatest migrating bird populations.
According to Ryan Mullins Hoboken, Kansas has an abundance of public land and game animals. The state boasts about 55,000 acres of public property, and three counties frequently score high on B&C buck rankings. Its famed lakes Marion and Moultrie are also just a short drive away. The Francis Marion National Forest, which has over a quarter million acres of public property, is another fantastic spot to go hunting. This well-known hunting site is just a short drive from Bend.

Moncks Corner, SC
Living in Moncks Corner, SC is very thrilling. This is a small town with old-fashioned hospitality, charm, history, and happy life for its residents. If you go back to history, you'll know that the town's name originated from Thomas Moncks' landowner in 1728. I like how attractive this town is. It provides a very reliable, thriving opportunity for the citizens, it's safe, and it improves the quality of life of the people. Moncks Corner has complete municipal services and utilities for 10 000 residents. It has good public work, excellent recreational activity, and a safe street and sanitation. It's desirable to people.

Wow! It's really very amazing to win $500,000 in a lottery ticket. The odds are 800,000, and it's really so exciting. I will probably be in awe if I get this amount from the lottery, and I couldn't even think how much I would spend such an amount. I am really so happy to win a man from South Carolina after the South Carolina Education Lottery reports that a resident of Moncks Corner won the lottery. He dropped by from the Fuel Express on the North Highway 17 and picked up a $10 scratch-off lottery. He is fortunate to get a big win, and he deserves it!
Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner, SC
The Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner, SC, is one of the most amazing canals opened in the USA in 1800. It's an authentic canal that provides a close-up view of natural beauty and wildlife. I like the natural and cultural history found in the Stony Landing Plantation. This park has been very significant to the life of the people because it symbolizes the history of the people from the time it began. Based on what I have read, the Old Santee Canal Park is the first true canal built in the country. So proud that it's located very near us.
