Analysis of the Soul Fisting Scene Part 2

Castiel says, "If there's someplace that you find soothing, you should go there." He clarifies

Soulless allows it to happen.

Perhaps at this point he's in too much pain to slip from the bonds he later escapes from easily.

But he knew this was going to hurt and Castiel warned him it would hurt and he submitted to it anyway.

Probably not just for Dean. He did wonder what was wrong with him and this was one way to find out.

Unfortunately, we do not have a copy of this script, but we do have a copy of 717, in which this scene is described as Soul Fisting.

So often Dean is positioned as Sam's judge, jury, and executioner.

Castiel sticks his whole forearm inside Sam.

Since Castiel is later revealed to be the person who pulled Sam from hell, there's debate about how much he knew about Sam's soullessness. In 6.20, The Man Who Would be King, Sam asks, "Wait. Did you bring me back soulless…On purpose?" Castiel says, "How could you think that?" Although I personally think he didn't know, I can see why some people think he did. If you imagine he did know, this scene becomes a lot more intense.

Finally, it's over.

Sam's still reeling from it.

Now let's look at how this scene shows how TFW regard bodily autonomy and ownership of each other in part 3!

craziest part about 6.07 soulfisting scene is that cas was doing all that even though he knew whats wrong already. he could've just said he sensed sams soul missing via hand to head healing style or something 😭 sam going through crazy violation and pain bc cas was method acting

were you the one who recced the fic where castiel pulls sam out of hell and realizes 10 seconds before it closes he fucked up and forgot his soul and then the door closed so he was like. FUCK. and then sam woke up and he had to pretend that he just. found sam there. without his soul. i cant find that fic but i think about that part a lot. theres also a bit in the fic where cas soulfists him and it mentions that there are still remnants of his grace from rescuing sam.

i did NOT i have never encountered this but i would love to read it

Sastiel has a lot of fun angles I can take with it. It can be a very sweet romance, but there is also a lot of potential for betrayal and angst. Seasons 6 and 7 (where I'm at) are just filled with this. Castiel saves Sam (or at least his body from the Cage), but he also ends up inflicting unimaginable anguish on Sam by unlocking memories of his time there. Despite all of that, Sam still tries to reach out to Cas, and Cas does come to him for help! Maybe Dean is right about them being Lois Lane and Superman!

When I do get back into the show, I am interested in seeing Castiel and Sam's relationship develop. Or at least reading the fics inspired by those seasons, lol. In particular, I'm really interested in what Casifer can add to this dynamic. What happens when your abuser has taken over the body of your friend? I'm also interested in Jack and how Sam and Castiel act as parental figures to him.

Also, the soulfisting scene is kinky and brutal and insane like. Castiel takes his belt off! And puts in Sam's mouth! What!? They aired that on public television. Astounding.
