i'm curious, what exactly is nox's quirk?

We're going to see more of it later on, but her quirk is called Darkness. She's able to control and manipulate darkness. One of the cooler parts that we haven't seen yet is her ability to sink into shadows, so you have that to look forward to. I was influenced by the Yami Yami no mi and Shikamaru, but that side of things will come out in Jaku City.

my last post (and only other post in 2023) was also a dtys, and i believe my style has improved and evolved so much in these past 9 months. i guess a break really did help.

i can't believe this is my first post of 2023, and that i haven't posted in about 8 months... 

i'm so sorry about that!! my schedule became extremely busy and i had to go on hiatus for a while... took longer than i expected. 

as you can see, i did already draw this a few months ago, but i didn't post it. i found it a few days ago in my folder and decided to make some edits and just post it!! i hope you like it. 

the dragon prince is a really good show, i fell in love with the animation the minute i started watching it. i can't wait for the next season!! 

also looking back at my posts from last year (btw, doesn't it feel unnatural to call 2022 last year??) i can see how my art style kept changing and changing... it's actually hilarious~

toph beifong - final battle scene redraw

rn i'm rewatching atla for the gazillionth time. it's one of the best shows i have ever watched. a true masterpiece. it covers deep and serious topics about our society. would 1000000% recommend. 

during my atla phase, toph was an idol and inspiration to me, so i felt like drawing her. 

this was honestly one of the most heartbreaking scenes in atla, and one of my most favorites too. *spoiler alert* in this scene, sokka and toph are kinda cornered by the fire nation soldiers on the airship who are ready to attack them, and the situation is just not in their favor-- sokka's leg is hurt badly, his weapons are gone, and toph is just hanging in the air holding on to sokka for her life. the saddening thing is that at this point, toph, the tough, brave, persistent girl we all know and love has just accepted death, and accepted that her last few moments (because she doesn't have her seismic sensing) would be spent in true blindness. 

i didn't really have the right colors for toph, so i worked with what i had 😅

if not the villain!bakugou au or the hero!touya au... imagine a less-angsty actor!whd au?? in which whd was a show and it's about the behind-the-scenes life of actress!izumi?? i've been reading the bnha-actor-au headcanons and seeing the artwork/comic strips on tumblr and honestly it's so wholesome compared to the depressing events of the manga... and i can't help but think how izumi would be in the actor au!!

I've seen those too and they are totally wholesome, though if we're being honest, given recent oscar drama, Izumi would be pulling up on an awards stage and slapping Endeavor too 😂😂

Okay, so I was planning on this for the ending, but as I said, I was washing the dishes (usually my plot ideas happen here) and decided to move the time-skip up a lot sooner. We're going to have the Haikyuu homecoming moments b/c of it, but we're also going to have more plot happening and it'll tie into the manga's plot but with my spin on it.

We'll get a scatterd Class 1-A coming back together as heroes for important reasons and it'll be an intresting and new dynamic to explore that I think is necessary for the story. The actual ending of the story will be a lot more open-ended (aka, we’re not getting a Naruto-style ending cause I hate the wife+kids premises)

i just got the chance to read the new chapter and DAMN IT WAS GOOD!!! welcome back, sugiwa-chan!!! i loved every single bit of this chapter. every. single. bit. it was amazing!!! I CAN'T GET OVER THE WAY YOU WRITE THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER!!! IT'S SO WELL WRITTEN, I EVNY IZUMI... i loved the whole interaction with mitsuki and the kids, with her embarrassing the shit out of izumi... and class 1-a has gotten so close they're kind of like siblings/family to each other!!! and savage all might (the whole dialogue between endeavor and all might as they're walking back from nighteye's agency)!!! and that little heartwarming, eye-opening scene with katsuki, izumi, and all might at the end... all amazing!!! i'm not sure if this was discussed in a previous chapter (bc i have bad memory and i read the previous chapter a LONG time ago...), but... since nobi was fired, what happened to his research about touya? didn't he collect dna samples from the todoroki kids (natsuo or fuyumi, i think)? did he ever finish conducting the experiment? did he match dabi's dna to the todorokis and figured out he was the "deceased" todoroki touya? or will that appear in a future chapter? IF THIS IS A SPOILER IT'S OK U DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER IT!!! THANK U <3

Hi!! And thank you so much for your kind words! I really place a lot of value on the character's interactions with one another, so I'm happy you're enjoying that aspect of the story.

Nobi kinda alluded to it in the chapter, but we're going to see exactly what happened to all of his research/case files and who they went to.

He did collect DNA samples which will be important, but I don't want to spoil too much, so I'm going to leave it at that. Let's just say that once someone knows a secret, it's harder to keep it quiet. Izumi's intrested in protecting Touya's secret b/c she's trying to quietly build the theory to the public through social media so that when it's revealed, the backlash on Touya won't be as severe, but that's also getting shut down. We'll see the HPSC's perspective and some other people's pretty soon.

Let's just say Touya's not the only feral Todoroki child and Izumi's frustration with what's happening/not happening with her father will eventually boil over.

i was just listening to my playlist on shuffle and chilling and "dollhouse" by melanie martinez came on and now i can't stop thinking about how that's literally the todoroki family from kid izumi's pov and i'm sad now and i'm literally in tears bYe-- 😭😭

You're not the first person to say this and it remains accurate every single time! Izumi's very much an observer as a child, watching her family fall apart and at the same time trying to save it by confronting Endeavor. I really can't wait to share the future chapters and how her realtionship with Endeavor and the rest of her family grows/changes.
