Day 22

Yes you read that right, day 22. I've decided to fully restart mouth week with tips from my brother

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, it's been hectic. I'll try to do it again and do better.

Oh, another thing, got a candy dispenser from a rummage sale for free today. Don't have a picture though.. I also have a gumball machine in storage, metal too. Again, no pic. Sorry.

Anyways, here's day 22 (again

I'm probably gonna get crucified for this, but the new Harvest Moon game, Winds of Anthos, has thus far captivated me much more than the latest non-remake Story of Seasons, Pioneers of Olive Town.

The character designs in PoOT, especially for the bachelors, was just terrible. I don't even remember half the bachelors because almost all of them, save for Iori and the DLC bachelors, were designed like background- and filler characters, to the point where I struggle even remembering their names. And their personalities weren't much better than the designs, tbh. Everything was kinda bland and uninteresting.

The bachelor and bachelorette designs in WoA though? We can laugh about the art style being a rip-off of Pokémon all we want, but at least we get some interesting character designs, that actually show some damn personality.

The big, open world isn't everyone's cup of tea but I enjoy taking long rides over wide, green fields and just spending nights watching the stars quite a bit, while PoOT made me feel downright claustrophobic at times with how limited the area is.

The animal designs are also all cute without being overdone. Especially the horses, because the Story of Seasons horses mostly look like backyard breeding gone terribly, terribly wrong. There is such a thing as too stylized, you know.

Of course WoA does still have its issues, some of which are gonna be a dealbreaker to some people. The farming is still too simplistic, for one. And I wish they could bring back the ability to just buy seeds instead of having to chase down those damn sprites. And it would be nice for side-characters to have unique designs again too, instead of making them so cookie-cutter to make the bachelors and bachelorettes stand out more.

My personal game recommendation!

Note: some of these games I have not finished and they aren’t in a particular order!

#1 My Time at Sandrock

It’s a game set in the desert in a post apocalyptic world! You as a builder help the people in the town and uncover the secrets.

Plus you can marry others in the town, personally I have yet to marry anyone but I’m working on it with Fang, Unsuur, and Logan (still haven’t decided)

I haven’t finished this game I’m currently stuck on the rat queen battle.

#2 Unpacking

I mostly got this game because it was on sale, and let me tell you it’s such a comfort game for me!

Whenever I need to wind down for bed I put this on and play for a level or two! It’s helped me with my anxiety as well!

#3 Persona 3-5

Now I have yet to play Reload so don’t spoil anything for me! I got into Persona 5 Royal first, due to a friend lending me their copy. To put it lightly I couldn’t put it down! I really like Yusuke!

Persona 3 is special to me, it honestly made me think on every action I took. Especially with Shinjiro, my favorite persona character, i can’t wait to play Reload when I can!

Persona 4 is a mixed bag for me. I haven’t finished it yet and I don’t think I’m going to. I do like Kanji!

#4 Hades

Pretty simple premise: Escape from the underworld to see your mother. And get powerful through every play through.

I’m currently still playing Hades a bit! Though this game does hold some sentimental value in my heart since it was one of the two games that helped me get with my boyfriend. I have escaped twice and like most Hades fans I really really like Thanatos, I even have a charm of him on my bookbag!

#5 Honkai Star Rail

You discover secrets of the express and the worlds you go to!

I don’t play this a ton anymore, I mostly just do my login stuff and some other housekeeping things. But I do enjoy it!

My current team is: Sampo, Gepard, Loucha, and Dr Ratio. Though Lunae gets swapped in sometimes.

#6 Mortal Kombat 1

I’ll be real I have yet to beat the story mode but I’m close! I’m someone who got the worse copy from playing on Switch, which I regret every day.

My current main is Johnny Cage and Kenshi but I’m trying to learn Syzoth since I like his play style! I’m too scared of actual people to do online stuff.

#6 Story of Seasons

So this is technically three games, I haven’t played the DS one.

Basically you just farm and gather materials to make your town better or just make friends! You can get married as well. I got married to Doctor (FoMT), Iori (PoOT), and Matthew (AWL).

I actually got my boyfriend into these games! It’s really fun! These games were kinda how I found my niche with games!

#7 South Park: Fractured But Whole

I’m not even gonna explain this story it’s so fuckin weird. But it was my introduction to South Park! It’s really fun and the battle mechanics remind me of FE. And it’s super inclusive while still being South Park.

I’ve completed two play throughs of this but I will warn you. For switch the loading times are a bit longer! This is basically 15 year old me’s nostalgia.

(I ofc have played other games but I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you to play AC:NH, Cult of the Lamb, or Ace Attorney)

Those were his own words, and yet, he found himself unable to tear his gaze away from the loveliest sight in his eyes. The light of the fireworks bathed your form in a warm, ethereal glow that made him all the more aware of just how beautiful you were.

He still found you utterly enchanting when you had dirt on your boots or fodder in your hair after tending to your daily duties at your farm. The fact that you directly came to him as soon as your duties were done for the day brought him unparalleled joy that he dared not express due to his own embarrassment.

As you stood beside him right now, clean and dressed in a warm-colored yukata in contrast to his own cool tones, Iori couldn’t help but think that he could no longer imagine spending this special day with anyone else.

When you caught his gaze and tilted your head questioningly, he internally took a deep breath and tried to still the racing beat of his heart. “Oh. no. It’s nothing. The fireworks are divine, is all.”

Perhaps one day soon, he’ll be able to express these overflowing feelings within him.
