So I Have A Theory

Not a very good one, mind you, but I wanted to share it regardless.

I've been looking at a bunch of Harvest Moon/ Story of Seasons posts on Tumblr, and there were two I saw that made me come up with this theory. The first (this one may have actually been a reddit comment but it doesn't really matter) was someone talking about how they always give their customizable farmer eyes and/or hair like the Harvest Goddess to imply they're one of her descendants - since she's pretty frequently a secret marriage candidate. They did this as a way to justify why only the player character can see the gods/other mythical characters, because they have a little bit of magic themself. The other was a post joking about how a lot of the medicines Ford makes in Trio of Towns border on basically being magic potions.

So What If Ford Was Actually A Descendant Of The Witch Princess?

She's marriageable in a couple of games just like the Harvest Goddess, and you can have kids with her. What are the odds a few generations down the line one of her descendants becomes a fantastic doctor with a little help from some half-dormant bloodline magic? I don't think the Witch Princess would keep very good track of her mortal bloodline after her human partner passes - I imagine she takes a human partner every so often just because she's immortal and gets bored super easily - which would also explain why Witchie never mentions the connection despite her and the Witch Princess being really close.

Thematically its pretty interesting too. The Witch Princess mostly just uses her magic to hurt/inconvenience people, while Ford wants to use his magic medicines to help as many people as possible. Also I just think it would be really funny for "skeptical of the supernatural in a game where everyone else just agrees the gods exist" Ford to secretly have a little bit of divine heritage in him. As a treat.
