one tma-related pet peeve of mine is when ppl make a distinction between “jon sims” and “the archivist” as if theyre in any way separate and not just two names for the same person. like i get what’s meant by it i do but its likeee

im not quiiite sure how to explain exactly why it bothers me but it does make me think a lot about s4 and the discussion of culpability with relation to the powers, especially the ep scrutiny. like...how upon hearing of what jon did in that ep martin’s first instinct was to rationalize it as not actually him

i'm really sorry if this is intrusive or i'm making the wrong assumption but are you commenting on the weirdly exclusive eye love tma project? bc yeah same i would have loved to be involved too and feel kinda unwelcome in the fandom now (again if i'm wrong i'm sorry, i'm just really upset and seeking reassurance that this happened to other ppl too)

I am not referring to that, and I hope it isn't too much of a bummer to hear but I was actually involved with that project

edit to add that if you were not involved that doesn't mean you're not welcome. I think like a hundred people contributed to the project... and this is in a fandom of THOUSANDS (the official RQ discord has 12k members and I know a lot of fans aren't in the discord. the eye love tma discord has 140 people). it was exclusive not in the sense that we didn't want people to join, but it was exclusive in the sense that since it was kept under wraps then not many people got that personal invite. the idea was started by like five people, and two or three of those people happened to be $10 patrons and mentioned it in the discord, which is how I joined in (to be clear this was not a patron exclusive project, that's just how I got involved since that official channel already existed). we were all told to feel free to invite others that we thought would be interested in contributing and admittedly I didn't invite anyone even though I knew a few people just because I was super busy and.... forgot. but if I recall correctly the project opened in beginning of February and you had to confirm your idea by mid February. my recollection of the timeline is hazy, but point is that the exclusion was not an issue of there being a clique of 100 people making this up per se, just more that that short timeline didn't leave much time for the invitation chain to spread very far from those initial few people that came up with the idea. if that makes sense. I hope that makes you feel a little better (since I mention in my tags that I felt the same way last time people made a book to send to rq and I had NO idea and I never got any kind of clarification as to why I was completely in the dark about it).

one thing I will say is that if you want to be involved with another collaborative project related to rq, there are already people following up on the eye love tma thing that created a server for more collaborative projects. if you want a link to the discord server lmk! (btw discord is the way all this was arranged, so if you aren't on discord then that may be why you weren't invited as opposed to not being liked/welcome)
