Osblaine week 2021, Day 2: Lyrics
Over the last several weeks, I have carefully curated a playlist for Osblaine. The final total length of the playlist is 2 hours and 53 minutes.
The playlist can be found HERE
Click "Keep Reading" if you're interested in the introduction, commentary, more graphics and the full tracklist.
For full disclosure, I have to give some of the credit to my amazing fellow Osblaine fangirls @dystopiandramaqueen, @splitscreen and everyone who participated in a certain conversation for the original inspiration and even bringing up some of the songs.
You should look at the playlist in five parts: one section for each season that's aired and one section for the future (because I like to end things on a hopeful note).
The playlist contains a lot of the following:
Music from movie and TV soundtracks
Instrumental music
Remixes
Classics and covers of classics
Country music. I blame Florida. My sincerest apologies.
Some of the songs were chosen because they reminded me of a certain Osblaine scene, and some of them aren't specific to particular scenes but chosen for the general Osblaine vibe. And most of the movie/TV music I chose have been used for couples that remind me of Nick and June.
Part I- Season 1, first 12 songs of the playlist:
Forbidden Love- Abel Korzeniowski, Jasper Randall, The Hollywood Studio Symphony (Romeo & Juliet)
Fireflies- Owl City
Echoes in Rain- Enya
My Ghost- Glass Pear (Bones)
Daring to Hope- Anne Dudley (Poldark)
Everytime We Touch- Cascada
1000 Times- Sara Bareilles
Too Good At Goodbyes- Sam Smith
In Case You Don't Live Forever- Ben Platt
To Find You- Cast of Sing Street, Brenock O’Connor
She- Elvis Costello (Notting Hill)
Miracle- Instrumental- Cö Shu Nie
Hanging By A Moment- Lifehouse
Commentary:
The first instrumental song IMO works as an intro for their entire love story.
The next two songs are more about having the right vibe. It's a little ambiguous and dark because that's how their life is in Gilead.
Leave my door open just a crack
Please take me away from here
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac
Please take me away from here
Why do I tire of counting sheep?
Please take me away from here
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep
***
Wait for the sun
Watching the sky
Black as a crow
Night passes by
Taking the stars
So far away
Everything flows
Here comes another new day
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
***
"My Ghost" is June's POV before they sleep together, wondering if she can trust Nick:
Who can you trust, in this place?
And whom can I put my faith?
If you're real, then show me now,
Who you are
The last two songs are for episode 1x10, for both Nick’s reaction to June’s pregnancy and the beginning of her first escape attempt (arranged by Nick).
She may be the face I can't forget The trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings Maybe the chill that autumn brings Maybe a hundred different things Within the measure of a day
Part II- Season 2, next 10 songs:
Love Will Keep Us Alive- Eagles
So Easy- Phillip Phillips
Incomplete- James Bay
Rewrite the Stars- The Piano Guys (The Greatest Showman)
I’ll Be Your Shelter- Taylor Dayne
Love Never Fails- Brandon Heath
P.S. I Love You- 05:11- John Powell (P.S. I Love You)
It's A Girl- Mychel Danna (The Time Traveler's Wife)
I'll Stand By You- Josh Groban, Helene Fischer
The Miracle of Love- Eurythmics
Commentary:
The first four songs cover June’s escape attempt and the time they share at the Boston Globe.
"Incomplete" is Nick's POV from when she's on the run and he knows she'll be gone from his life soon. He lives in the moment.
I don't wanna look down
I don't want us to break up in the clouds
All I want is to stay us, to stay with you now
"I'll Be Your Shelter" is for when June's mental health is at its lowest point and he goes to Serena to beg for her to get June help.
What you need is a friend to count on
What you got baby you got someone
Who will stay when the rain is fallin'
And won't let it fall on you
P.S. I Love You takes me back to episode 2.09, Nick’s selflessness in the episode and of course the scene where after telling June that Luke loves her, he tells her that he loves her too, despite believing she probably doesn’t feel the same way.
It's A Girl makes me think of the beautiful moment they share during June's false labor when he helps her out of the van and they climb the steps together.
I’ll Stand By You is for 2.10, Nick holding June after she was heartbroken over Hannah and over what the Waterfords did to her and clinging onto him.
Part III- Season 3, next 6 songs:
Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close- Alexandre Desplat (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close)
All I Ask- Adele
Never Enough- Loren Allred (The Greatest Showman)
I Don’t Wanna Live Forever- Taylor Swift, ZAYN (Fifty Shades Darker)
Love is Gone- SLANDER, Dylan Matthew
Constellations- The Oh Hellos
Commentary:
For obvious reasons, it was extremely difficult to pick songs for this season.
The first (instrumental) song is for the beginning of the season with June coming back to the Waterford house and them then saying goodbye to each other on the street.
All I Ask, Never Enough, I Don't Wanna Live Forever and Love Is Gone are for their night together in June’s room at Lawrence’s (the one we didn’t get to see sigh). They know it's possible it's all they'll ever have, and they'll take it, but it'll never be enough.
I will leave my heart at the door I won't say a word They've all been said before, you know So why don't we just play pretend? Like we're not scared of what's coming next Or scared of having nothing left
Look, don't get me wrong I know there is no tomorrow All I ask is
If this is my last night with you Hold me like I'm more than just a friend Give me a memory I can use Take me by the hand while we do what lovers do It matters how this ends 'Cause what if I never love again?
***
All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough
***
I'm sorry, don't leave me, I want you here with me
I know that your love is gone
I can't breathe, I'm so weak, I know this isn't easy
Don't tell me that your love is gone
That your love is gone
"Constellations" is for their long separation and the doubts that I'm sure plagued them both during it. Would they ever see each other again?
Part IV- S4, next 12 songs:
All of Me- John Legend
(Everything I do) I Do It For You- Bryan Adams
Iris- Natalie Taylor (City of Angels)
She Was Like A Bright Light- Hans Zimmer, Rupert Greyson-Williams (Winter’s Tale)
Noah's Last Letter- Aaron Zigman (The Notebook)
What’s In The Middle- the bird and the bee (Bones)
ivy- Taylor Swift
Footprints in the Sand- Leona Lewis
Remember Me (Lullaby)- Gael Garcia Bernal, Gabriella Flores (Coco)
On The Nature Of Daylight- Max Richter
My Heart Will Go On- Basil Jose (Titanic)
The Story- Sara Ramirez (Grey's Anatomy)
Commentary:
There were sooo many songs I wanted to include in part IV, but I controlled myself and ended up with this particular dozen.
"She Was Like A Bright Light" and "Noah’s Last Letter" are an instrumental double punch to the gut for Nick’s time in Gilead during episodes 4.07-4.09. The first one is meant for when he finds out June made it to Canada, and the 2nd for is for when he starts to gather info on Hannah to give to June.
"What’s in the Middle" and "ivy" are June’s POV of episodes 4.07-4.09.
"What's In The Middle" has more of an angry and confused vibe, and June was definitely both in episodes 7 and 8.
Losing your head is such a common theme
All your brains are falling out, falling out the open seams
Where is the heart, is the heart of the matter
I will empty out my skull of all this useless chatter
On the other hand, "ivy" has this haunted vibe, but there's also reverence and acceptance, which she begins to achieve in episode 9.
Oh, goddamn
My pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand
Taking mine, but it's been promised to another
Oh, I can't
Stop you putting roots in my dreamland
My house of stone, your ivy grows
And now I'm covered in you
The next three songs are of course all for their reunion in 4.09, and I couldn’t resist including the song that was actually played in the scene.
"The Story" draws the season to a close nicely, with June understanding that her current needs are different from what they used to be and that there’s someone who understands her completely (and it’s not Luke).
You see the smile that's on my mouth
It's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through like you do
And I was made for you
Part V- Season 5 and Beyond, the last 6 songs
Secret Love Song- Little Mix, Jason Derulo
Burn With You- Lea Michele
The Bones- Maren Morris
Feels Like Home- Auli'i Carvalho, Keegan DeWitt
Love Will Find A Way- Piano Covers (Lion King II)
Like I'll Never Love You Again- Carrie Underwood
“Secret Love Song” is a more angsty tune about a love that’s still kept a secret like June and Nick’s love (as far as most people are concerned). Now that they’ve already made out in front of the man who raped and abused June and made Nick watch him do that, I want to believe they can let go of the secrecy in S5, at least when it comes to a few people.
I'm living for that day Someday Can I hold you in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor? I wish that we could be like that Why can't we it be like that? Cause I'm yours, I'm yours Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor? I wish that it could be like that Why can't it be like that? Cause I'm yours Why can't I say that I'm in love? I wanna shout it from the rooftops I wish that it could be like that Why can't we be like that? Cause I'm yours Why can't we be like that? Wish we could be like that
***
“Bones” is about a relationship with a strong foundation, which IMO they do have. It will carry them in the future, too. They’re more into each other now than ever before and especially June is coming to terms with how strong that love is. They’ll weather any storm.
When the bones are good, the rest don't matter
Yeah, the paint could peel, the glass could shatter
Let it break 'cause you and I remain the same
When there ain't a crack in the foundation
Baby, I know any storm we're facing
Will blow right over while we stay put
The house don't fall when the bones are good
***
“Feels Like Home” is more hopeful. Their home is with each other and I hope that’s something that will be explored more in the future.
Take me, I'm ready
Go slow but go steady
To a place that we can call our own
I wanna know what feels like home
***
“Like I’ll Never Love You Again” is a good conclusion for the playlist. It’s hopeful and a testament to an epic love.
I wanna love you like the rain on a roof
Stronger than a bottle of a hundred ten proof
I wanna take love to places that love has never been
Yeah, I wanna love you like I'll never love you again
And I'll love you again
Oh, and again

Forever home 16
So this happened today. I don’t think anyone is going to complain.
Bear set Richters carrier down outside the house. He took a deep steadying breath, and pulled the man from his travel box. The house was so much smaller than he was. There were spells to accommodate this. He’d managed to purchase one before his visit.
The place was surprisingly empty for a famous painter’s home. But that was probably for the best. He didn’t want to have to silence Ricky while shoving past dozens of strangers. Making the situation all the more stressful on both of them.
The building was painted several shades of orange, white, and green. Traditional Ogre colours. He gave a smirk. Silly little things loved their colours. But, Every ogre he’d met was accommodating and friendly. With this, Bear pulled the packed spell from his pocket. “Need anything from in there?”
*
Richter stood at foot level, shaking. He jumped upon hearing Bears voice, but answered quickly. “No. No I’m good. Ready to go.” The trip had been nerve wracking. Those warp gate things were noisy as hell. Going through them felt strange. And now they were in a new place. A place clearly too small for Bear.
Richter would have to jump to reach the doorknob, but it was small enough he could manage his way around. The carrier rose from behind him, and was clipped to the giants belt awkwardly. Richter watched this in awe a moment.
Not long after, Bear brought his hand heavily to his chest. There was a loud crack. Richter flinched back as the titanic man shrunk before his eyes. Now standing about ten feet above Richter. He shook himself slightly. Bracing a hand on a lamppost for support.
Richter was too stunned to say anything. Backing away slightly. Before a door behind him flung open. A large being, about the size of Bear burst from the building. Red tattoos covered deep green skin. The being sported large tusks, and a set of long horns. And the look on his face couldn’t be happier.
“WILLIAM B. HEART! Ya’ look like someone thumped ya’ with an ugly stick.” The beast jaunted over, gate unsteady as Richter noticed the next prominent feature of this thing. No arms. This made him resemble a top in the way he wobbled as he walked. Working to correct his balance as he went.
“An look at you! You must be Richter! ‘Ere lemme get a good look.” The being stood on one leg, dragging Richter to chest level with his other. So much for needing to work around his balance. The ogre stared into Richters eyes with unbridled delight before releasing him.
“Looks just like ‘is daddy. And you say the lad can talk?” His attentions returned to the shrunken giant. Now staggering his way over to the pair. Richter gave him an unsure look as Bear grinned towards the ogre.
“Ask him. Not me.” This prompted all the attention to return to Richter, who smiled nervously. He wasn’t sure what to say. He wanted to ask how his parents were doing. Or introduce himself.
Instead, however. “Y-yeah. I can talk. Nice to meet you sir.”
The ogres eyes shone brightly. He slammed his shoulder into Richter. Gently enough not to really cause damage, but hard enough to knock him off balance. “You must get your manners from your mother. Gotta say. When Bear told me ya lil’ rats could talk, I had some serious questions. But they’re all translated up. Yer’ old man still hates my ass but hey. Far from skin off m’nose.”
They were led into the house. Richter being filled with so many questions. Instead of an answer however, something came flying around the corner. Entrapping his ribs in a tight grasp. “RICHTER!”
“Wh-urk... Hi mom.” He did his best to return the hug. Loosely encircling his mother in a hug of his own. Ignoring the cooing coming from Worm. Another man rounded the corner, a little greyer than when Richter had last seen him. A full, neatly trimmed beard gracing his features.
But there was no mistaking it. That was his father. The man strode over to him, eyeing the younger man. Soon enough Richter was further engulfed in his parents arms. He threw the free arm around his father. Resting his head on the older mans shoulder.
They must have stayed like that for a while, as Bears voice cut through. “Um. Were you working with glue earlier Worm?” Richters father broke the hug immediately. While the other two awkwardly shuffled away from one another.
The man puffed up his chest and rose to meet Bear as far as he could. “You. The hell did you do to my boy brute?” Richter turned, catching an arm under his father’s ribs, and physically lifting the man away from Bear. Relieving an amused laugh from Worm.
“Dad. let’s not try and pick a fight with the guy who’s literally trying to save humanity.” He set the man behind his mother. In all honestly, it was nice to be able to throw his weight around again. Living with giants made a man feel helpless at times.
Bear however, just patted Richters shoulder with a laugh. “It’s fine. Really. Poor guy’s probably been through the ringer before we showed up. As for your question, fed him, clothed him, kept a roof over his head. You know.”
Richter’s father tensed. Folding his arms. Glaring up at the giant. But he gave an affirmative grunt. It was Richter’s mother who finally broke the tension. “How about we all work this out in the living room? I can make some tea.... Somehow.”
Richter licked his lips. “I’ll help.”
Worms kitchen was jury-rigged with all kinds of odd devices to work around his disability. However, there were step stools for the smaller residents that made the action of boiling water easier for the two. His mother worked quickly. She seamed to be in far better health than when he’d seen her last.
“I... I can’t believe how long it’s been.” Richter flinched. Staring down at his mother. She was watching out the window above her head. Hugging her arms. “I never thought I’d see you again. But here you are. Alive and well. Look at you!” She beamed.
Richter just shook his head laughing. “Look at me? Mom, you look amazing. Dad too. Worm seams like a pretty nice guy.” To this, the woman laughed.
“I wish your father were as accepting. Since day one, he had to pick a fight with everything giant. Or not human in general.” Richters shoulders tensed. This... Wasn’t good news. He heaved a sigh, running a hand through his hair.
His mother picked up on this, and brought her hand to fluff over the tips of Richters hair as well. Being mindful of his head. Drawing a laugh from the man. He pulled away, rising out of arms reach. A smirk on his features. For once, things felt... normal. The old kind of normal.
It wasn’t long until his old man joined them in the kitchen. Ghost white. He fell upon a pillow by the window. Eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. “Richter... Is it true?”
“Is what true?” Richters heart stopped a minute. His father was skeptical of giants at best. If Bear had told him ANYTHING about the past while, since entering Bears home... He braced for angry, accusing words.
“You were alone for almost three months? That...Neil’s family is... And you were...” He dully felt his mothers hand on his arm. His mouth went dry. It really wasn’t something he wanted to discuss.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to. As his expression clearly said enough. “Fuck. Sorry kid.”
Kid. That was a nickname he hadn’t heard in a while. Richter gave a bitter laugh, leaning further against the counter. Even scaled down so much, the house was huge. There were large pillows placed in strategic areas. They were clearly well used.
Some small scuffs were made on the floor, from his fathers boots. The prints were too large to be his mother’s doing. Richter took a steadying breath, and sighed. “So. You want the good or the bad news first?”
“Bad first.” His mother sighed.
“Bad news is, if everyone acts like a dick. We’re still going to be pets. Just ones that can speak.”
“Language. Now what’s the good news?”
Richter sighed. He went into every detail about the plans he and Bear had made. Also being sure to include the mentions of a relief effort for the men and women still trapped in the ruins. As he droned on about changing things, about having a chance to be counted out of the responsibility act, his father perked up.
Eventually the tea was ready, and the three humans worked together to bring it in to the two beings in the next room. Bear was sitting and watching as Worm set his paints and pencils beside him. He turned to the family entering the room with a bright smile. “Oi! You three go sit by the window. I wanna mark this occasion.”
There wasn’t much room to argue. So Richter sat at the window, enjoying the sun on his back while his mother and father encircled him in a tight hug. The giant paused. Blinking a few times. He tapped Worm on the shoulder and mentioned something.
With the ogres permission, Bear moved two pots of flowers behind them. It was odd. Seeing a big, green, paint covered face poke from behind the canvas every so often. A paintbrush clenched between his teeth. Occasionally he asked them to adjust their pose. Or offered some cookies to go with their tea.
When all was said and done. They were called over. On the canvas was almost a perfect match from them. It was about then that Richter noticed something. The same healthy glow his mother and father carried, was reflected on his own features.
He gave his skin an accusatory look. Only to find that it was just as pink as the painting. He really looked like he’d been in good health. His mother grinned. Staring at the painting with delight. While his father gave it a cursory glare.
“Seriously you paint us like we’re a basket of kittens.” He sighed. Worm just laughed. Resting his chin on the mans head. Nuzzling him, much to his chagrin.
“Oh come on. Ya’ lil’ buggers are cute. B’sides. Isn’t this how you want to be seen with your family?” Silence followed. There was really no arguing the point.
Richter sighed. Leaning on his father casually. “I guess after all this, we can brag that Worm the mighty painted our family portrait.” He smirked. Causing Bear a short chuckle. Though, Both his mother and father seamed confused. Worm however, puffed up.
“Ye. And I’ll charge ya’ lil’ bastards for the next one!” He snickered. Giving Richter a friendly tap on the back with his foot. This, however, triggered a response Richter was dreading. He reflexively leaned back further into the contact, only realizing what he’d done when Worm’s foot returned to the floor. Followed closely by Richter’s rear end.
Four sets of eyes landed on the man. His face flushing scarlet. Bear, however, cleared his throat. Helping Richter back to his feet casually. Worm just smirked. Or grimaced. It was hard to tell around the tusks. “Yeah that’ll happen after you live with a giant. Ya get so used to being picked up, ya just lean into it.”
“How. How’s a small ass giant like that able to pick Richter up that often?” His father glared at the ogre.
“Oh, like this.” Bears hand scooped under Richter. Lifting him in a jarring motion to sit lightly cradled in the giants arms. Squawking about being put down immediately. Once his feet returned to the floor, Richter straightened himself. Glaring daggers at the giant.
Bear, in turn, burst into laughter. Loud, rumbling laughter. “No but in all honestly. I’m no smaller than any other giant. I had to use a shrinking spell just to get in. Normally I can hold your son in the palm of my hand.”
“Okay! Enough embarrassing the man who knows where certain people sleep. Mom? Dad? Are you on board for the thing?” Richters voice cut through sharply. Starting to feel more like himself now that he was actually socializing with people other than his m- with Bear.
In the end. The two filled their paperwork out. As well as Worm. They visited only a little longer before it was time to go. Richters arms trapped his parents in a tight grip. They were promised they’d see one another again. By both Worm and Bear. But when the world ends. Every goodbye should be treated like the last one.
*
The giant waved to the trio at the door, and left the house with Richter close behind. Eyes wide. Everything was HUGE at this angle. “Rick... Is this how the world always looks to you?” He watched as a few of his own people crossed the massive streets. Walking along an elevated path with the human.
It was private. Away from the others, as per Richters request. He didn’t want to answer too many questions from too many strangers. Richter just paused. Staring at Bear. He seamed confused a moment. Then spoke up.
“I mean. This is basically it. Just on a MUCH bigger scale. Like, this place is massive! W-When are you going to get big again?” Richter clutched Bears jacket, the man showed clear signs of distress. From this angle, Bear could read his expressions easily, it seamed. Though they seamed... Exaggerated.
“I think she said it would ware off in a couple hours. We can wait somewhere quiet if you want.” He reached a hand in his pocket for a note regarding the spell. And instantly felt cold. “Oh... Oh no. We can’t. I have to head home. NOW.”
He didn’t look back as he gripped Richter by the shoulder and sprinted. The spell would ware off... In 24 hours. Another hop through a warp gate and they were closer to the house. Bear then pulled a memory orb from his pocket. Calling Archibald.
“I can’t believe it.” The giant paced back and forth while Richter gathered himself. “24 hours! I’m going to be a shrimp for 24 hours!”
“I’m just amazed you even know what a shrimp is.” Richter leaned on a tree sighing. Eventually the human apparently grew tired of Bears constant worrying. As he gripped the mans leg, and dropped him heavily to the ground. Knocking the wind out of him.
“Shit! Sorry. Um... Look Arch is going to be here soon right? We’ll get to the house, and figure things out from there. No need to panic.” Now that he was able to see the man better, Bear found that Richters eyes held an experience to them.
The kind a man gains from long days and frightening nights. The kind he knew well. Even further still, he could make out a few old scars running along Richters arms. Dog bites, places where he’d lost skin. The giant stood on unsteady feet.
Staring down at the man. Richter stared right back with a bright expression. Oblivious to the injuries he carried. Bear inhaled, then pulled the man into a hug. Ignoring the indignant yelp. “You’re right. It’s just unsettling. Imagine being me sized. And then losing a few dozen feet.”
“Oh it’s not that bad.” Both men sprung back. Eyeing upwards at Archibald. From this angle, he was horrifying. Even in the casual stance he took, the man was the size of a mountain. Those golden eyes just piercing down at them through the glasses. A lazy smirk spread over his cheeks.
“Need a ride?” Slowly, so as not to make the horror worse, Archibald lowered himself to one knee, resting a hand on the forest floor. Richter seamed to have no trouble scrambling up it’s surface. Bear on the other hand, couldn’t force himself to move.
Too big. Way too big. He’d never thought of Archibald as anything but equal. Now... Now he was basically a titan. And he was asking Bear to just... CLIMB into his hand? Richter stared back at him with a sigh. “Pretend it’s an elevator. You guys have those, right? You just need to do a little climbing. And then shut your eyes.” The human reached an encouraging hand for him.
Okay. Okay he could do this. He’d been through worse. Slowly, Bear stepped onto his friends palm. He had to hold Richter on his lap, while Archibald held him with both hands. They made their way to the house swiftly. Bear was set in the enclosure with Richter.
Solid ground. It felt AMAZING. Bears body fell limp. Richters laughter cut through his thoughts. A glass of water pushed into his hand. “Yeah. I know the feeling.” The man looked as though he’d just gone hiking. Holding the sympathetic expression one carries when they’re a pro at something you only just started.
“Did you go through this shit your first day here?” Bear sat up. Taking the water gratefully. He hadn’t realized how much he’d been gasping since he shrunk. It almost tasted like heaven. If not a little too cold. Was Richter content with this? Bear resigned to give the man more variety for his beverages. Something he could make for himself.
Richter’s laugh said it all. “The first day? Bear. I still go through that from time to time. Why do you think I hate being on the floor?” He couldn’t help the shudder creeping up his spine. Watching Archibald roam around the house casually wasn’t much better. Bear never realized how BIG he was.
“Weird. When I dreamed about this, I felt kinda’ similar. But it wasn’t anywhere near as terrifying.” That dream made it seam so normal. But this was anything BUT normal. Richter sat beside him and shared in Bear’s giant watching. A sigh escaping the small man as he leaned on Bears side.
“Yeah? Well, it’s not always so bad. Times like this get more and more rare as you get used to it.” He shut his eyes, leaning on the giant. Bear just paused, looking down at Richter. The man seamed so content. So relaxed.
Never mind the fact that they were sitting on a table in the corner of his kitchen. Never mind the idea that Richter was powerless to change anything in his environment aside from asking. Never mind the fact that... The man had come to terms with it. Even seaming relaxed about it.
Bears hand came up, and almost rested on Richters head, before adjusting to his shoulder. “Remind me to hit you with a growth spell one of these days.” He sighed. It was only fair Richter saw things from his angle, too.
“Please don’t actually hit me with it. That would suck.” Richter chortled. He sounded as though he was dozing off. Once again impressing the giant with his relaxed state. Then again, what did Richter have to stress about? He was pulled from a horrible situation, and given a rent free, lap of luxury.
“Noted.”
Getting around the house was also an interesting event. As Bear found himself concerned about breaking the enclosure upon turning back. Archibald had left, though he left some food out for them when they were hungry. Soon enough, Richter guided him to the floor.
Only, the human seamed more than happy to sprint around the house at top speed. What once seamed like a joyous jog, now showed it’s self to be an all out bolt. Occasionally, to get to some place, Richter would take a flying leap. Shimmying up some of the ropes he’d been provided with ease.
“And only now, do I understand how damn athletic you are.” Bear sighed.
Richter glared from his position on the table. “What I can’t understand, is how you’re struggling so much. Come on! It’s not that hard.”
“Richter! I eat trees and eggs. Things that don’t tend to run away!” The giants hands waved in the air indignantly. Shortly before he awkwardly shimmied up the leg of a chair. Then pulled himself onto one of the ornate edges of the table.
Scrambling to the top. He gasped for air. Beard fluttering in and out with every breath. Richter just chuckled and slumped in front of the man. “I’d help ya, but you’re still bigger than me.” A cheeky grin spread over that humans face. Bear just scowled.
“Well. I know this table’s nice and sturdy. And nothing’s gonna break here. so....” Bears arms snagged around the human as they dropped to the edge of the table. His chin tucked over the mans head. “Now we wait.”
Richter went expectantly limp. Laying on Bear’s lap shamelessly. Shutting his eyes. “Yeah okay.” The man gave no resistance as he was held close. Bear began to grow concerned for Richter’s mental state. Only to find that his small companion had fallen asleep.
Did he get any the night before? Was this all because he was so exhausted? Richters snoring, usually tiny and adorable, rattled the man. For something so small, he could make a hell of a noise. He just looked so peaceful like that.
However, it was a trap. Bear was now stuck with a sleeping human in his lap. For FOUR HOURS. The ultimate power move. The human was still sleeping. Bear sighed. Reaching to play with Richters hair. It was rare when he could do this. May as well make the most of it.
As expected, it was incredibly soft. Even a bit fluffy. A hand shot up and gripped at Bears wrists. Richter looked pissed. “Okay. Last time I’m warning you.” The man glared. “Contact to my head hurts like fuck. So don’t touch it.”
“Oh. Sorry. Could you get off my legs now?” Richter settled for sleeping in an empty butter dish. Clean, but left upright. Apparently the cold glass was pleasant. Bear didn’t understand it. Deciding it was a human thing, he returned to his waiting. Watching the window from his vantage on the table.
“You know.” Bear was jarred from his thoughts once more. “All in all. No matter how this thing goes. It’d be nice to still hang out like this.” Richters eyes landed on Bear. Who in turn, nodded.
“Yeah. Maybe not exactly like this. I’d rather you NOT sleep in a butter dish next time.” The giant turned with a laugh.
“Oh screw that. I’ll sleep in ALL the dishes eventually.” Bear had no doubt he would. Richters laughter said it all. Well. Maybe Bear could snag some cute pictures from all this. Make light of the situation.

Chevalier x Richter fluff pls ♥ 'v',,,
“It has been done, Richter.”
The Goddess’s left hand looked back at the butler as he stepped over to him fearlessly, having left the battlefield cleared behind him.
“I didn’t need you to do this.”
“Yet I did.” He nodded and adjusted his coat. “It’s okay. I was just trying to make the mission easier for you.”
“Alright then. I appreciate the offer.” Richter nodded and started walking off, not even looking back at the half-demon. “Now, if I may.”
“It’s high noon, Richter.”
“Hm?” Ain had no idea what he meant by that and looked back at his teammate, who had taken a seat on a boulder, his eyes closed. He seemed calm, composed; Richter had always been told that demons were vile, evil creatures, but this man seemed more similar to him than he’d care to admit.
“Would you care to join me?” Chevalier looked up at him with a sharp yet calm look. He crossed his legs and rested his gloved hands on them, his back as straight as an arrow. He knew not to force things onto the angel, especially considering they were basically opposites, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t try to get them to get along. “It’s time for a break. I’d serve tea but unfortunately Timoria shattered my teacups.”
“I’ll take up on the offer.” Richter said after a second, walking back to him and sitting on an aura he created. The half-demon and the angel stared at each other for a second in silence, before Ciel lowered his gaze with a sigh and took off one of his gloves. Richter’s walls immediately went up; he had told him many times to not touch him, and he had never done so, but even then, better safe than sorry.
But all the half-demon did was run a hand through his hair to take the hair falling in front of his eyes out of the way.
“I’ll need to wash my hair when we get home, I think some dust from the rubble has settled in it,” He spoke, as calm as always. “I dislike dust.”
Richter nodded in agreement.
“Indeed, dust and dirt are...Far beneath me. Unworthy of existing. If I could cleanse the world of them, I would.” A small silence followed Richter’s ststement, and Chevalier looked over at him.
“We may have more in common than meets the eye,” The butler spoke. “We shouldn’t assume each other’s personality and traits as beings just by our provenance. That is why, Richter...” He put his glove back on and stood up reaching out a hand to him. Now that the white fabric wall between them had been restored (even though Richter also wore one), there was no risk of tainting anymore. Contact was allowed again. “I would like to ask you to come over to my place tomorrow. We can celebrate our victory with some wine, champagne, or tea. I’ll leave the choice up to you. I can even cook a meal.”
The angel looked him over for any signs of that the blue-haired demon butler might be trying to decieve him, but at finding none, he gave a firm nod and shook his hand.
“In that case, I will gladly take up on your offer. Thank you for having me.”
Chevalier nodded back and let his hand go again, drawing a small smile.
“The pleasure is mine. I will make sure not a single speck of dust gets in the way of our meal.”
“You better. Otherwise, I might have to drag you in front of Ishmael for her to judge you.” He was joking, or at least attempting to joke, but his voice was dead serious. Nevertheless, Ciel understood he didn’t mean it and gave him a soft, wider smile accompanied by another nod as Richter stood back up.
“I will not disappoint you. Now, shall we get going?”
But before he had finished his sentence, Richter had already ran up ahead, trying to kill the remaining monsters as soon as possible, secretly looking forward to the next day.

Kino - Maniac Prologue Translations under the cut (and a CG)
Monologue
Living at Rotigenbelk was harder than I thought it would be. We couldn’t leave because of the smell, and we were even hesitant about opening the windows.
Although, living in Kino-kun’s house could be considered a blessing. There was nothing out in the marshes, and nothing could grow in its soil. I heard that we couldn’t even use its water normally.
I stayed quiet and drank the water Yuri-san treated in a hard pan.
Yui: ….
Yuri: ….
Yui: (Whenever I’m eating like this, Yuri-san is always watching silently… Ayato-kun was taken down to the dungeons earlier… I wonder if he’s okay…) Um, Yuri-san, aren’t you going to eat?
Yuri: No, I’m not. As we explained earlier, there’s a food shortage here.
Yui: But…
Yuri: There’s no need for your concern. I’m a ghoul; I won’t die. Nothing will happen to me if I don’t eat meals. Though there may have been some ghouls in the past who made it a custom to eat meals.
Yui: … In the past?
Yuri: … There are two types of ghouls, ones like me that were born, and others that used to be human.
Yui: … Human…? (Used to be human… what does he mean…?)
Yuri: There have been cases of humans that come here from their world and reside here for a long time turning into ghouls.
Yui: … I see. So then… (would I turn into a ghoul too…?)
Yuri: But, as Eve, you don’t won’t have to worry about that.
Yui: … Really?
Yuri: In short, ghouls are mere shadows of the humans they used to be and they’ll never be able to wake up from it.
Yui: … (I didn’t know that humans could turn into ghouls… but humans can’t come to the demon world too often for it to happen, right?)
A door opens
Kino: Are you still eating? You really are slow.
Yui: Kino-kun… (He’s rude as always…)
Kino: Hurry up and eat. We have to go out soon.
Yui: Go out… where to?
Kino: Fufu… somewhere good.
Scene change—forest
Monologue
Following Kino-kun, we left Rotigenbelk a ways. We ended up at some demonic ruins in the forest.
Unexpectedly, there were some people there waiting for us.
Kino: Sorry for the wait. Well, it was this girl’s fault for not being prepared anyway.
Yui: ….
Man A: No, it’s fine. The rest of us have only just arrived.
Yui: (Who are… all of these people?)
Man B: More importantly, I want to show you what we were talking about before. This way
???: So, you’re Kino…?
Kino: Hehh, it’s like I’ve been completely forgotten. Yes, I’m Kino.
Yui: …! (This person…)
Footsteps. The person appears on the screen.
Yui: (Is Richter-san… isn’t it? But Kino-kun killed him…)
Flashback
Kino: Yeah, that’s right. I killed Uncle Richter and, in order to draw you two out, I mixed his body with some ghoul meat. I didn’t think it would be as effective as this though.
Yui: Wait, did you say Richter-san just now?
Kino: Yeah, he was obsequious until the end. What a useless old man.
Yui: No…!
End Flashback
Yui: (Was he lying back then…? What’s happening here…?)
Richter?: Deliver the vampire—it’s an order from that person.
Yui: (… Is he talking about Ayato-kun…? Hand over…)
Kino: Hmm? So they’ve already agreed to my terms?
Richter?: No, it’s…
Kino: What, still? Then there’s no way I’ll hand him over. Unless you clean up what’s left and bring the evidence like I expect?
Richter?: … I see.
Kino: Now, make sure to relay it to them properly. Leave if you understand.
Richter?: … Excuse me. We’ll take our leave now.
Man A: …
Man B: … Yeah
Yui: (He left… what were they talking about at the end… That man, however you look at him, he’s Richter-san, right? But… he seems strange. It’s like his aura is different… he didn’t even react to me at all.)
Kino: … Well then, let’s get going too.
Yui: Hey, Kino-kun. Those people were…
Kino: Eh, just now? They’re from the church.
Yui: … Church…? (Those suspicious people are related to the church? And on top of that came to the demon world… but why?) The person who you spoke with just now… was Richter-san, wasn’t it…?
Kino: It was Uncle Richter, but also not. Probably. Fufu.
Yui: …? What do you mean…
Kino: I wonder. I’m not too familiar with it myself… From what I’ve heard, the church took over Richter’s dead body. Perhaps something interesting will come out of it. I’m not really interested though.
Yui: … What are you planning… (Is he planning to trade Ayato-kun and hand him over for something from the church…?)
Kino: What? Hmm, yeah, it probably is about time I told you… I want to give the ghouls a new land.
Yui: … New land…?
Kino: Exactly. A place with clean air and water, a place where no one is discriminated against, a place where ghouls can live freely. There’s no way I can leave them stuck in Rotigenbelk forever. For this reason, I’m working with the church to eliminate the demons that caused this.
Yui: … (Kino-kun is definitely only telling me part of it, but…) Hey, Kino-kun. I do think that it’s wrong that the ghouls are getting discriminated against, and I think locking them up in such an awful place is horrible, but did you really take Ayato-kun to use him to extermi—
Kino: … What do you know? Don’t make me laugh
Yui: …
Kino: Fine, I’ll ask… do you have any other ideas? Can you liberate the ghouls? If so, do it. … Now!
Yui: Ggh… (my neck…)
Kino: Ha… you can’t right. So don’t talk like you understand. Optimistic people like you only saying pretty things make me sick… so much I almost want to kill you right here…
Yui: (… I can’t… breathe…)
Kino: But, unfortunately, it would be trouble if I were to kill you. Live… if you make yourself useful to me!
He lets go and Yui starts coughing
Kino: If you understand, never say such useless things again
Kino leaves
Yui: (Kino-kun… his eyes… I really thought he’d kill me…)
Yuri: That’s why I told you—don’t defy Kino.
Yui: … Yuri-san
Yuri: … Can you stand?
Yui: … Yes. Thank you.
Yuri: It’s not... Kino’s fault.
Yui: Eh…?
Yuri: ... It’s mine.
Yui: That’s… (what does he mean…?)
Yuri: Now, let’s go. We need to catch up to Kino.
Yui: … Yes
Scene change to the forest
Monologue
We caught up to Kino-kun and returned to Rotigenbelk.
Throughout it all, Yuri-san didn’t say another word.

Forever home Pt. 7 G/t fluff, pet tiny.
A resounding crash shocked Richter awake. This was the third over two days, causing Richter a bit of anxiety. Bear would just fall over from time to time, without moving. After a bit, he'd get up shake it off, but remain shaky for the rest of the day. It had Richter worried. Clearly feinting was by far abnormal. And Bear had only just started his medication. If this was the side effect now... What would it be in the long term? What happens if Bear... No. Richter shook those thoughts away. Waiting in silent worry for Bear to return. In a few moments, the giant arrived. Steadying himself on counters, tables, any thing he could hold. Soon enough he reached for an orb from the table. Speaking to it this time. It was a long conversation, between he, and some other giant through the orb. Bear made a list, sent a memory orb, then another after reading the bottle for his medication. Soon enough Richter could hear his masters voice raise slightly. "Wha- It can't be that bad. Can it? ......Side effects you say... Well. Alright. I'll see if I can find a house sitter then." In a moment of frustration, the giant pounded his fist on the table, standing slowly. "Richter... I'm sorry bud, but breakfast will be a little late. I have to do something very important." As the giant moved in a painfully slow pace, he made his way to another orb. Sending it away. Soon enough a somber knock came to the door. "Come in." Bear raised his head smiling softly. The door opened slowly Archibald hesitantly stepping through. A large bag held over his shoulder. Some sort of crest sitting on the middle of it. Richter leaned back and forth looking around the two of them to see what was happening. Archibald gave him a brief glance, a sheepish smile flicking over his features. Instantly turning to Bears side the two seamed to bounce back and forth a while. "Thanks for this, I know you're busy." William looked much different to Archibald, tired, weak, far more frail than he'd ever seen the man. It had only been a few days since his last visit, but things looked like they took a bad turn. "No worries. I'm just glad you actually took your health into your own hands for once." Archibald set his bag down, giving it a judging glance. He just KNEW he was missing something. Probably something small. It wouldn't matter however, he could run back and fetch it at any time. William gave him a sort of, sarcastic smirk. "Well, it's not just my life anymore. I have someone counting on me now." He gestured to the enclosure. Turning to pack his own bag of tricks for his time in the hospital. Not noticing the tiny wince from Archibald. "Don't spoil him absolutely rotten while I'm gone. You can find his feeding chart in the journal by his enclosure. He gets one, maybe two treats once in a while. No people food." Archibald folded his arms in a defiant stance, glancing back at Richter a moment before looking in the direction Bear was headed last. "You know I can't cook, right?" "There's pre-made foods in the freezer, just heat them up. I planned for this sort of thing." Was his reply, only, from a much different direction. Soon enough the bearded menace arrived with a small pack. Not many items were in it, a few changes of underwear, toothbrush. And woolen socks. Same as the last few trips to the hospital most likely. There was a clear discomfort in Williams eyes a moment. Just pleading for Archibald to comfort him. The earth giant heaved a sigh. "Hey, it's alright. It'll most likely be overnight. And HEY! I'm not dragging you this time." The weak smile he'd received only made Archibald more tense. "Will, it's really going to be okay. When you get back, we'll be waiting for you. And you'll feel better for having done this." He gave the man a reassuring pat on the shoulder, only to find himself wrapped up in a tight grip around his middle. Suspended a little off the ground. Soon enough Archibald was returned to his feet, feverishly readjusting his glasses over and over whilst trying to ignore the flush to his cheeks. And in one moment, all that recombobulating was ruined once more. As a large mitt of a hand rattled his head from side to side, normally neat, well groomed hair now frazzled in every direction. With that, William leaned on Richters enclosure, bidding the little fellow goodbye for now and listing care instructions. Not long after he left. Leaving Archibald to hug his shoulders with a tiny sigh. "You always had someone counting on you...." He turned his gaze on Richter, who seamed uncomfortable at best. Outright fearful in reality. What had just happened? Bear just... left them. Left Richter alone with this strange giant, and left the giant alone in his home. A giant who, from Richters point of view, was still new and needed much more time to get handling rights. His attention was pulled to the titans voice however. "So... Will said not to spoil you absolutely rotten. But he and I have different views on absolutes. So~ Where does he keep your cookies eh?"It was strange to see someone other than Bear wander around the home, opening cupboards until he gave up. "No treats? Richter, my heart bleeds for you. But no worries." The stranger returned to his bag and pulled something from it, a box. On it was a painted design of a human like himself, full scale but cartoony. The drawing made the person look as though they were enjoying one of the advertised treats inside. Richter only shuttered a moment before heaving a sigh. Opting to talk to himself, Richter sat down on his sofa. Having moved to the living room while waiting for his breakfast. "No choice but to put up with it... I guess." He jolted back a bit when the access hatch clicked open. Something that hadn't happened since last bath day. Flattening himself against the furniture, the human looked for a way out. Any way to avoid being grabbed. As Archibalds hand made it's way into the room, Richter vaulted over the back of the sofa and attempted to hide there. A soft laugh quaked over the enclosure, followed by a hushed tone. "Hey, it's alright. Just look. Look at what I'm holding." Given the lack of moving sofas and aggravated noises that usually followed a catching, Richter peeked his head over the love seat. Sure enough, Archibalds hand rested nearby, but open, flat. With what looked to be either a very small cake, or an over sized biscuit resting just at the tips of his fingers. Slowly, Richter crept from his hiding place. Hunger overtaking fear. He'd taken rewards from Bear before. But never quite in this way. Normally it would be pinched between the mans fingers, and was rarely anything more than the small cakes he'd made. This was new, in all too many ways. Carefully he placed a hand over the treat, then pulled back in case Archibald was baiting a trap. After no such attempt to grab was made, Richter lifted the new thing off of Archibalds hand. Backing away slowly and making his way to the sofa again. "There now, see? No harm done. Just a cookie." Examining the strange new food, Richter broke off a small piece, sniffing it before taking a tiny bite. It was by no means amazing, but it was better than the foods from the shelter. And so, he dove in. Nibbling at each bite. Richter could hear Archibald kick up into a soft breathy laugh. The kind reserved for small animals that were not to be disturbed. After he polished off what was left of the small treat, Richter found himself leaning back casually in his sofa. Placing a hand on his stomach and enjoying the tidbit for breakfast. It had been a while since he'd last gone hungry. And the idea of it was jarring to say the least. That said, Richter was starting to worry about Bear. He'd only just started to actually trust the guy, and now the big fuzzball just left. Judging by the set of bags both Bear and Archibald had... It would be a while before he saw Bear again. The idea made his heart sink. Despite the treats, Richter only seamed sad now. Archibald heaved a sigh, pulling the feeding tray out and finding Richters actual breakfast. Warming up the first thing he could find, Archibald spooned a few dabs of hot pudding onto the tray and scooted it back in place. "Don't worry pal. He'll be back soon. You'll hardly notice he's gone." Richter seamed to acknowledge his words, but give them little care. Standing slowly, the tiny creature made his way to his breakfast and dug in at long last. The amount of gusto the little fellow gave was surprising to say the least. But sort of uplifting. As Archibald leaned on the wall of the shelter he began to settle in. There was always that feeling of discomfort when he house sat for anyone. Staying in a strange bed, trying not to make a mess while simultaneously trying to make himself comfortable. He gave a slow groan. staring at his wrists a moment in some form of distraction. Several scars dotting them in a circular pattern. He heard the faintest of noises from the enclosure and blinked down towards Richter. The little fellow seamed to scramble out and Right up to Archibalds hands. Giving him a little surprise. When the tiny being reached out to place a hand on his scars, Archibald chuckled slightly. "You're smarter than you're given credit for. It's fine. These happened a long time ago." He pulled his hands back, out of Richters reach. There was no reason to hide them really and no reason to lie about, or deny their origin. "You probably don't understand me. But that's okay. These happened during the war. Magic sealing cuffs. It was the elves best way to keep someone like me contained." He explained. Though he was sure his words were falling on deaf ears, Archibald learned that recalling the situation made it easier on him. He rolled up his sleeve to show off smooth and polished stone resting like great guards on his shoulders. "They wanted this. I guess you don't know, but the stones that grow on earth giants can be used to make a magically conductive powder. Forge it into a blade and enchant it, you have a magic sword that never runs out." He gave a sigh. "Anyways. It can only be harvested from my kind of giant. So they attempted to keep us alive to mine us. I still can't stand the feeling of them being chipped at. They keep growing though. So I have to deal with it." He smirked, reaching down to try and pet the little being. Only to find him shying away when his fingers came close to Richters head. "Don't like having your head touched eh?" He lay his hand nearby and attempted to scratch at Richters back. Only to be rejected again. Apparently he wasn't familiar enough. This made the man sigh, How could this frightened little thing win Will over so fast when he'd been working at it all his life? Looking around the room Archibalds gaze landed on a picture near the back wall, just entering the living room. "No way! How'd I not notice that?" He gingerly approached the photo, picking it up off the wall and staring at it for a while. Just keeping his eyes on the figures in the photo for a while. Entranced by the fact that it even existed in Williams home. "ey...hey HEY!" Archibald snapped out of it, turning back to see Richter waving his hands and jumping at the far end of the enclosure. Snickering, he approached the little fellow with the photo in hand and held it down for Richter to see. The tiny man instantly gravitated to it. The figures in the photograph were as big as him. Making Richter sort of laugh a bit. It looked like a typical group photo, several men clustered together in a friendly way. One thing Richter found off was the matching uniforms, and strange harnesses some of the men wore. Basically like shoulder straps with some sort of bubbles running over each one. He could recognize Archibald in it but almost missed Bear if it weren't for the arm thrown over Archibalds shoulder. The beard was gone, leaving room for a broad, open face. One thing that drew his eye was a ring on Bears left hand. What looked like a wedding band. He pointed at it, looking up at Archibald for feedback. The giant paused, looked at the picture and groaned when he saw what Richter was pointing at. "Ugh. I hated that bitch. Pushed him so hard to fight in a war he wanted no part in... Then left him when he came back damaged." Without warning, Richter was scooped in a loose grip, causing him to flail and shout a moment before he was placed on the table. Archibald brought another memory orb forward, keeping his hand on it. From it's surface, images of a young woman began to play up in soft light. Drawing Richter into it. "She was a user. She'd find a kindly gentleman, push herself on him, then sponge off his lively hood. The moment he rose up, or raised issue, she'd break the relationship." The woman in the image flicked over several men, landing on Bear. Memories of the woman from Archibald showing up in front of Richters face. "Both William and I came back scarred from the war, but he showed it more than I ever will. Beloria took one look at his dark, worn... kind face and left him. Just left him. And she's the one who sent a pacifist to war in the first place." Richter could tell something was wrong with Archibald, seeing a few small tears forming in his eyes. "She just used him. And when she was done, she tried to move in on me... And I threw her out on her ass." The giant looked proud of himself, yet, a little disappointed at the same time. Richter tilted his head, reaching out and patting the giants Ring finger. He payed attention to the orb once more. Seeing the woman standing in the rain, suitcases in hand. She was saying something, but Richter couldn't make it out. He did, however, see a small red light, a glowing ruin in what looked to be Archibalds door frame. The woman tried to force her way in, only to be pushed back. Archibald pointed to the ruin, then the door slammed. The image cut out after Archibald raised his hand off the orb groaning. Said hand ducked into the treat box again and offered another biscuit out to Richter. Hesitantly, he took it with a small thank you and nibbled away. Taking another look at the photo, Richter started to put things together. The uniforms, Bears actions, the medication, it all brought him to the same conclusion. "So, you're both war vets..." Richter brushed the remaining crumbs from his little snack aside and stared Archibald in the eye a moment. "So, what does that make me?" With that, Archibald smirked. A large shape moved behind Richter, catching his attention briefly before he just leaned back. Allowing the gentile petting this time. One difference Richter noticed was how slim and soft Archibalds hands were in comparison to Bears. As though he tried to keep them more delicate than the other mans. In fact, everything about Archibald just looked groomed. The observation was only re-confirmed when Richter was once again scooped. Giving a meek, halfhearted flail, the man settled into the hollow of Archibalds palm. Watching lazily as the world passed by on the way to his enclosure. Sliding carefully to the grass, Richter found himself left to relax. Though Archibald checked in on him every hour, bringing another biscuit each time. And spoke to him the whole day. He hadn't been handled too much. The day more or less continued like that. Asside from perhaps eating more than Richter normally had. The only point that stood out was lunch. The man found himself outright staring at Archibald as the giant just casually pulled what looked to be several boulders from a compartment in his bag. He'd done some complex things to each stone. Like grinding them, or cutting them with a specialized knife. He placed them in a skillet also from his pack, and added sauces of sorts, and seasonings of odd origin. Finalizing things by scorching them on the first burner of the stove. Shortly after the odd actions, Richter found himself in awe as the titan began wolfing back the strange mixture. As though it were just... the norm. Blinking in confusion, the human stepped forward to examine things a little better. Skittering back when he'd been noticed. The feeding tray was filled and Richter had to test it to make sure he wasn't eating pebbles. Giving the food a judging look, and poking it cautiously. "Pfft. What's with the expression? Not hungry?" Archibald returned to his plate of stones with a snicker. The day wore down at last and as far as Richter knew, Archibald had slept on the couch. And took a long time to do so. Basically causing the human to flop about several times over on his bed groaning. Archibald apparently had no concept of sleep schedules. Or at least, no consideration for Richters own. Or no knowledge of it. And even when the lights went out, Richter was severely lacking in sleep. His first clue that something was off was when he'd heard Archibald talking in his sleep. Things he knew to be the giants word for 'no' and 'stop'. It ended in the kitchen light flicking back to life. The giant leaned over the sink, desperately running water over his face. Said giant took a few more moments, collecting himself with shaky breaths. Archibald was talking to himself, clearly trying to calm down. Richter assumed he'd had a night mare, probably similar to Bears. The part he'd found odd was that Archibald had been for the most part, ignoring him. For the first time that whole day, he'd been ignored fully while Archibad was in the kitchen. Groaning, the human pushed himself up from the mass of pillows and blankets he'd made into a nest for himself. Wriggling from their warmth and out of the room. Staggering down the stairs and out the door. If Richter was going to sleep, he needed Archibald to calm down first. Standing in the grass and glaring over the wall lining his enclosure, Richter took a deep breath in. "HEY YOU!" He began jumping up and down, making as much noise as he could. When Archibald finally noticed him, Richter stood still. completely still. Archibald extended a curious hand to the human. Without much thinking, Richter dragged the hand to himself via Archibalds middle finger. Standing in the squishy spot between the fingers and the palm of the hand. Though Richter would never tell another human this, that was his favorite spot in any hand. He kept old of one finger, hugging it as best he could, and effectively trapping Archibalds hand in his enclosure. "You get it back when you feel better." The smaller man smirked. Archibald just stood there, baffled. Without his glasses, Richter was a mere blur. That said, Archibald knew he'd just been taken hostage by the little brat. If he lifted his hand, the little guy would come with it. If he left his hand, perhaps Richter would just get tired and go back to bed soon. Or, were these little runts nocturnal? Eventually, Archibald curled his fingers around the little one groaning. "Ah, I woke you, didn't I? Look it was just a nightmare. Okay?" He attempted to pull his hand away. The little beings grip tightened and the small one bent his knees. Ready for lift off. "Way too smart. Alright, alright. I'll talk." Archibald groaned. Pulling Richter fully out of the enclosure and sitting with the being cradled in his palms at the table. "I-sigh-I dreamed is was my son, who was captured. Not me. It's ridiculous. He's only one third giant. And well, isn't much bigger than you in reality. And... In my dream, I was unable to help. It's normal. And... I know it's a dream. I'm just worrying about the lad." Archibald glanced into his hand. The little being splayed casually in his palm, arms folded, legs crossed, and a firm scowl on his face. The giant could feel his eyes widen at the sight, now that he actually COULD see the expression. "Still no? Richter, you drive a hard bargain." He groaned. All Archibald wanted to do was go back to tossing and turning on the sofa, and missing his bed. Still, this was probably for the best. "Look, what do you want me to say? That I'm sorry for what happened during the war? That I wish I'd never signed up? Richter, I'm a GIANT. More importantly, I was never on the front lines. Yeah, I was captured, but I got out not a day later. You want trauma, talk to Will." He could feel himself get angrier and angrier as he spoke. Though, it wasn't directed at Richter. "HE's the one they wronged, not me. Our side never shed blood. We're giants, if we want something to stop, we can make it stop. Just shove the runt in a metal box and poof, problem gone. War over. They were the ones who..." He gave up after that, running his free hand through his hair. "They were the ones who shot the trebuchet. They were the ones who managed to kill first. And... who pushed Will into it." He closed his eyes a moment pinching the bridge of his nose. "And I was the one who had to pick up the pieces. When Bell left... I was the one who had to hold him on those bad days. I had to drag him to the hospital...He's doing better now that he has you though." With a weak smile, Archibald squeezed his hand around Richter carefully. As a sort of hug. The little fellow squeaked a bit, before settling down. "You probably don't understand me, so I don't mind saying, I'm a little jealous. I just wish the fuzzball would...Well, that he'd think of me as more than a friend at least. I haven't told him yet though. I... Haven't told him yet for a few hundred years." A light blush dusted his cheeks. Archibald thought he'd heard a faint jingle, but ignored it. "Maybe I'll tell him when he gets back though... You know." "Tell who? And what?" Archibald found himself almost throwing Richter over his shoulder in a startled frenzy. Clapping the other hand in a dome over the tiny being instead and looking in to make sure he was okay. Asside from a frazzled expression, Richter was fine. Good. Now then. "WILL?! I thought you were-" "Completely fine. They had to do a few blood tests, and a LOT of uncomfortable examining. But I'm not having the reaction they thought I was." William smirked while setting his bag down. Leaning on the door frame with a sigh. "So~ What did you want to say?" Those bushy eyebrows raised in a way that implied suspicion. Suspicion of something Archibald suddenly wasn't ready to own up to quite yet. And so. Lie. Lie like a rug. "It's just, spending the day with Richter like this.... It's nice. I think you've convinced me to get a pet myself!" Archibald pased the tiny fellow to William and began making his way to the living room. "He's been a little prince for me all day! Um... I'll pack my things." Asside from the flip flopping of Richters internal organs, he was no worse for the ware. Sprawled out in the familiar rough palm belonging to his master. Giving a cautious glance upwards, Richter could see Bear eyeing him with a smirk. Giving a knowing wink and carefully transporting the human back to his enclosure. "Do you need help making an enclosure then?" The giants voice was raised, but not ear splitting. Thankfully. "We could make a date out of it." The giant had a look of pure mischief now. Richter could hear a funny sort of squeak before Archibald showed up carrying his bag over his shoulder. "NO! No I'm- well... Maybe." "You're going already? I was kind of hoping you'd stay the night. I'm supposed to stay up and detox the other medication. And well... I need company." Richter slid off the palm a little slower than normal, trying to gather his surroundings again and regain the ability to walk. He could hear the uncertainty in Archibalds voice as he spoke. "Um... sure. You could give me tips and tell me how you hand tamed Richter so well. Just... Give me a moment." The other giant vanished and Richter could hear Bear chuckle. The big guy gave the human a slow, steady smirk whispering to him. "Don't tell him." He moved his jacket pocket, allowing Richter to see just the tip of something pink. "....You were outside the door. Weren't you?"
