insane to me! how every single time rachel went out of her way to paint demeter as the bad guy she ended up making her MORE sympathetic to the point that i was agreeing with her even when she was going off! like yes objectively parents mess up and it is okay for demeter to be wrong but everything she warned and predicted came true and she never gets an apology! never gets a BREAK im so mad

demeter is literally made by metis to defeat kronos, who is declared the worst tyrant of the universe - she's made to be a soldier, she says herself she didn't have a childhood.

she's the oldest child of three daughters, one of whom is an unknown fertility goddess, and demeter is immediately thrust into a horrific war that is unspeakably destructive (zeus himself points out to metis that it's taking longer and destroying more than they anticipated.) her mother doesn't let demeter do anything but train and fight, and any joy or moments of happiness are sacrificed so they can defeat kronos (because "it's our responsibility.")

then demeter has to watch her little sister get ripped in half by said tyrant, the consequences of which are understandable trauma the likes of which none of them can fathom, and it's strongly implied that demeter takes charge in caring for hera (fuck what hades said about how he was the only one who could understand her the man could not understand how to open a cereal box without a woman doing it for him.)

and then, in rapid succession, demeter watches a man she has feelings for devour her mother, which ends the war; the man then takes advantage of her, before choosing her sister, leaving her devastated; and everyone just goes on with their lives like horrific tragedy and violence wasn't the norm for decades.

it is abundantly clear how abused and ignored demeter is, despite doing exactly what was expected of her, exactly what needed to be done. she cares for hera and then concedes zeus to her; she cares for the entire mortal realm (and presumably does so during the titanomachy as well) without any thanks or respect; she does not raise hell that zeus lied to her in order to sleep with her, and she willingly raises the son she had with poseidon (which yes is a joke character but i'm including it because it's still fucked up.) none of the gods respect her or treat her kindly; she's constantly called a nag, a contrarian, scary, and mean, despite the fact that the nymphs she cares for clearly love her, and the mortal realm prospers under her.

when demeter tries to get just a crumb of acknowledgment for her work, hades goes out of his way to knock her down, and he doesn't do so in a small way, he's a massive asshole about it

literally he doesn't even just knock her down he goes out of her way to bribe zeus to help him what the fuck

demeter literally offers to trade hades - despite having no reason to play nice with him, she offers a compromise and a solution, rightfully pointing out that hades doesn't even live in the mortal realm.

this isn't even a snap insult btw he literally pauses to shoot back at her. he looms over her. we know that hades resembles kronos and while that's not his fault, him using his size to intimidate demeter, who has her own trauma around kronos, feels so fucking deliberate. he's using that to scare her.

completely erases that she's been holding the mortal realm together on her own, zero help, no title, for centuries.

insults her, gets further into her space, and then jabs at her, causing her to flinch back. like bro these are all the actions of an abuser, and demeter - the firestorm who scared ares and zeus and hera - recoils.

AND THAT'S JUST THE PROLOGUE! THAT'S JUST SETTING THE STAGE FOR WHY SHE MAKES THE DECISIONS SHE MAKES!

because years and years later, when demeter admits to being lonely, when her own family has turned their back on her, she creates her own daughter, and their relationship is demonstratively warm, loving, and healthy. in the early episodes, persephone describes demeter as being an affectionate mother who believed in persephone's abilities, and flashbacks of persephone's life with demeter showed her mother being affectionate, playful, and incredibly determined to protect her daughter from harm.

meanwhile, demeter continues to get mistreated (zeus setting her sanctuary on fire because she wouldn't hide his pregnant mistress, which would have been an act of war lbr, hades coming into her home drunk, and that's implied to happen more than once, zero title, etc) and continues to suffer trauma from the war and metis' demise.

and honestly, i hate the harpy subplot as much as the next critic (possibly more because i have demonstrated i'm a hater) but use it in context and it amplifies what demeter has been suffering from for centuries - the men in this world will use and consume women as their due, powerful women will find themselves the tools of greedy men, and just as she failed to protect her mother and sister, demeter could well fail to protect her daughter and lose her, too.)

demeter's entire life is structured around the abuse of men - created to fight them, lied to and manipulated by them, ignored and harmed by them. men shape her early trauma and she knows this. zeus tricked her into having sex; posiedon dumps a kid on her; hades is hades. most of the pantheon will side with zeus before demeter, and many of the male gods are related to, or owe allegiance to, zeus. demeter has no reason to trust any of the male gods, towards her, and towards her daughter.

and the worst part is, she's right. most of the men in persephone's life try to take advantage of her in some way - you can start as early as hermes, who (according to a patreon post) used to make out with persephone in demeter's sacred grove (in case this was not gross enough, persephone was younger than nineteen when this happened and was likely sixteen or so, which adds further disgust on this horrific meal.) ares meets her and immediately tries to seduce her; eros meets her and gets her drunk, putting her in a car for another man to find. apollo rapes her. hades grooms her. her assault literally happens the second day she's in olympus.

demeter is correct on every single account of just what could possibly happen. you can't even really argue that demeter's overprotectiveness made persephone unprepared for olympus, because she was getting up to underaged hijinx in the mortal realm. persephone is a literal child, in every sense of the word. she has the luxury of growing up in peacetime, she has the blessing of not fighting a war, for having time to explore her powers and explore how to grow. the argument that she's an adult just does not fly when you stack a nineteen year old against beings thousands of years old.

what especially grinds my gears is that, even in the face of the abuse demeter gets, she still does her best to protect persephone from the wrath of men. she goes to great lengths to hide the act of wrath, so no one will realize persephone is a fertility goddess and use her, and she puts her own safety on the line to ensure persephone will be spared.

one of my favourite, favourite, favourite demeter moments, is when eris first shows up - hades describes how awful eris is, and we get scenes of everyone being absolutely terrified of her, demeter included. but when there's a chance persephone might even mildly be at risk, demeter doesn't hesitate to put her own neck on the line.

rachel can retcon and edit as much as she wants, demeter's sole entire purpose is to protect and love persephone. that's all she wants. she literally wants to live in peace with her daughter, the way she never got to with her mother. persephone is absolutely allowed to want more, she's absolutely allowed to want differently, and she should be allowed to achieve that, but every action persephone makes is largely pushed upon her by a man. she's not choosing to live with hades because they're equals and she loves him, she chooses him because he's groomed her.

and we're not even half done the fuckery because demeter is then punished to live in the mortal realm for ten years!!! her entire wellbeing is dependent on persephone not fucking it up, which as we all know is not possible, so for ten years demeter is left to live as a mortal, no way to protect herself, no family or friends to help her. she manages to make connections and even finds love while she's banished, and she even ends up having a son, but of course loses him too because fuck demeter apparently. and no one! not a soul! asks her! about what happened to her!!!

the only time anyone bothers to ask how her banishment was, it's after persephone gets married and hestia is blaming demeter for the intervention.

hestia didn't even open with this - she sees demeter is miserable, and she jumps instead to questioning her about the intervention. and yeah, i'll agree it wasn't a good idea, and some awful things were said, but i am so fucking hard put to blame demeter for it. the characterization of demeter we've seen thus far would never do that, and regardless, she has to watch her daughter go off with a god thousands of years old, who looks just like a monster she had to fight, who abused her, too. demeter doesn't feel safe with hestia - she doesn't feel safe explaining the tragedy she's been through, how alone she is. her own daughter doesn't care to ask how demeter's banishment was, and only steps in to help with demeter's grief because it will make things smoother for her and hades.

literally i could go on further but this is already hitting the limit as is, demeter is not wrong. she's not wrong to say the gods of olympus are dangerous, she's not wrong to want to hide persephone and protect her from the ones who would use her. she is the only one to clock zeus and hades and the rest for exactly what they are: abusers of women, leaving a trail of grief in their wake. and she's the only one punished for it.

demeter was always correct btw. might go so far as to say she was never incorrect.

as an on-and-off elbow crutch user, lemme tell yall abt my experiences

it got kinda long so im putting it in the read-more

it slows you down

especially in stairs, you have to put both your feet in one step to go to the next. that means it takes me twice the time to go up or down stairs than an abled bodied person, and that is when they're not speeding

you really cant speed much, be it on flat road or on stairs. it doesnt speed u up much and the only thing that happens is you get tired from using so much effort

people having to wait for you makes you self-conscious, even if they are understanding about it

carrying anything is a nightmare. backpacks can throw your balance off. you cannot hang a bag on the handles of your crutches cause you have to LIFT those bitches. and if you're only using one crutch, carrying the bag in the empty hand also throws you off balance

you only have a maximum of one hand available at all times

you need people to get out of the way. you need more moving space and standing space for moving with crutches

the crutches make your hands sore. you're carrying your weight with them after all. you can need to take a moment to rest only to soothe your palms, even if your legs arent tired

sitting is always a hassle with leg injuries, and that becomes a bigger mess when you need to also find a non-obstructive place to put your crutches to. they need to be easily accessible to you

standing up is also very hard. it depends on what your disabilities are but the faster you find a way to comfortably stand up, the better

people *will* try and take your crutches. Do Not do that. i dont care if you're fascinated by them or if you wanna play around and swing urself or if u wanna hold onto them while i sit. unless i explicitly ask you to, do Not take my crutches. and if you do, don't set it down anywhere, hand it off to somebody else, or leave it somewhere i cant get to. wait for further instructions. do i want you to put them at somewhere specific? do i want you to give them back to me? do what i want you to with them, nothing more and nothing less

people get curious and it gets really tiring to answer the same questions. i dont owe you an explanation and i dont want your curiosity or your pity

yes it's real sad that your distant relative also had one accident so they had to use crutches too. yeah there are canes and underarm crutches and wheelchairs but this is what i am using. yes people may need them for different reasons and it's not your place to judge or question it. can i please keep walking?

crutches get dirty from being used everywhere and the handles sweaty from your palms and they need cleaning

you will get looks no matter what aid you are using

idk if it's just me but going downhill is very hard with crutches. uphill too but when it's downhill i'm also afraid of falling and rolling downhill 😭

getting in and out of cars is a hassle. btw, for safety, you should put your crutches on the ground under your feet

acquiring a shower stool might just be what you need. also get non-slip plastic rugs to lay on the bathtub/shower floor. getting someone to help you shower isnt shameful

if you drop something, woe is you. where do you put your crutches? how do you crouch to get them? the best thing to do, in that case, is to ask for help. people wont mind, believe me. and if you're alone, be careful and take your time

being able to walk without crutches doesnt mean ur faking. not having more pain without crutches doesnt mean ur faking. stop being so hard on yourself

So I’ve had an anon in my drafts for like a year now asking how to get better at being fast at art since I can be a bit speedy (I used to be faster but I’ve slowed down in some areas to take my time BDBDS)

Anyways, I have been thinking abt it constantly since then and decided to just make a video about it, but Vegas cONSTANTLY crashes on me and when I was doing it, I couldn’t upload it anyways due to my terrible internet and the length

SO I’ve decided to just say a summary of it, cuz like, ultimately it’s a lot of things but the primary thing is:

Keyboard shortcuts (and tools)

Fr, you can get super fast at digital art just by navigating your program efficiently. You don’t even need to be fast at the art thing itself (that part is just practice unfortunately). If you learn and apply shortcuts in your program (sorry mobile users I can’t help u there rn) then you can easily become a LOT faster without even needing to get better at art itself.

For example:

We already know ctrl-Z, ctrl-Y (or ctrl-shift-z for some programs), ctl-X, ctrl-v, ctrl-c

But some other shortcuts I use (this is in Paint Tool SAI, so you can look up your program’s as it might overlap!) are:

Holding space: bro this shit works for like every single program i swear. hold space and click and drag to move the canvas around, a lot faster than going to the scroll bars or using the preview (unless you want a large movement)

Ctrl A: this will select everything on your canvas, it won’t select all layers though but in conjunction with ctrl-x, ctrl-c, or your fill shortcut (ctrl-f for me) it means you’re lightning fast to do what you’re doing without having to use magic wand tool or selection tool. ctrl-a + ctrl-c + ctrl-v is super fast to just, select it all, copy it, and paste it. 

ctrl-alt: idk abt other programs, but holding ctrl-alt on SAI brings up the brush size wherever your mouse is. you can adjust the size on the spot itself without going to brush tab 

ctrl f: i don’t even use the bucket tool i just use this. it’ll fill anything in your selection (or the entire screen if u don’t have anything selected)

alt: holding this down while using a selection tool will make it deselect. no need to use a deselection tool or anything if u just hold this down (really good in conjunction w magic wand tool). I use this to go even faster by being sloppy with my selection tool, going to my lineart, holding alt and deselecting the areas that go out of the lines. a lot faster for me than trying to get the perfect selection right away.

ctrl d: deselects

c: this auto selects the invisible/eraser setting for any tool you’re using, so I just use this when using a pen or something to erase instead of the actual eraser tool

v: this swaps between the primary colour selected and the secondary one

ctrl-e: merges selected layer w layer below it

ctrl-shift-e: merges all layers (can get funky w folders, but if you select the very top layer it should work) this is esp useful if you’re sharing art by pasting it into stuff like discord, ctrl-shift-e, ctrl-a, ctrl-c, all copied, no need to screenshot it at all.

right click: eyedropper tool, you can hold alt as well but i use right click

there’s even more than these (pretty sure there’s one u can hold to rotate the canvas for example but i never use it). honestly, half the battle w digital art is getting used to your program. if u have access to keyboard shortcuts, using them will allow u to just go ham once u have them memorised (note that these took years for me to figure them all out, i def didn’t memorise them all in one week or anything. over steady application to my habits i got them down)

filling in ur colour now becomes as easy as click, click, click, invert, ctrl-f. u may need to clean some corners but otherwise it’s basically instantly filled. if ur program has magic wand tool it’ll prolly do this

I’m the anon whose setting the bomb off by asking why season six won’t happen

TL;DR- bc Teen Titans (2003) ended! It wasn’t canceled! It was brought to a conclusion, that fans weren’t super happy with obviously, but it was an ending nonetheless.

I’d really like to encourage everyone in the fandom to read the interviews gathered by TitansTower (2nd half of the page) during the time TT03 actually aired. David Slack, Glen Murakami, & the crew have said over and over again, the original order for the series was for 4 seasons. WB hadn’t expected the popularity of the show to last past that, but it exceeded expectations and by the time season 4 was wrapping up development, they were asked to pen a movie and move forward with development for s5.

They had LOTS of ideas for season 5 too! More side characters they wanted to explore! More depth to get into the Brotherhood’s plot! But unfortunately, when they pitched the idea of a Longer season/more episodes, they were asked to keep it at 13 eps, the usual order. There were Talks about a possible 6th season & the crew started prepping for it and pitching it because, hey! they were passionate abt the show they were working on too! But WB ultimately decided to move onto other projects and guess what? So did the crew! Because that’s just what happens! Things end and you have to accept it and move on. Huh it’s almost like Things Chan-

Even IF, for whatever reason, against all logic & reasoning they decided to Greenlight a sixth season, 12 years after this series ENDED. I GUARANTEE fans would find SOMETHING to bitch about every single step of the way. Just look at Young Justice. Much shorter timeframe between s2 and s3 getting picked up and yknow what fans are still doing? Being the Same Old Fans that Fans who Fan will Be.

Misinformation gets spread around every so often too, and I just wanna be really fucking clear: No amount of Toy Sales success/failure had anything to do with the show. No amount of the Demographics they Targeted vs Ones they Hit, had anything to do with the cartoons perceived ‘failure’. Especially considering that, again, they got a movie+5th season that hadn’t originally been planned for. So from that, no amount of fan petitions or campaigns were going to ‘bring it back’ because WB & the crew, again, had moved on to other projects. Because the show, as a production, had reached a natural conclusion.

Now sure, let’s fast forward to 2011/2012? The DC Nation block gets dropped into a SatAM slot. Nostalgia hits Big as, alongside new eps of Green Lantern:TAS & Young Justice, they showcase a plethora of shorts! One of which, is the New Teen Titans, done in that ~*adorable*~ Super-D form but with more or less the same style as the first cartoon.

Fans lose their minds and there’s a resurgence of petitions and letter writing campaigns (ones that I will readily admit to participating in because I was 15 and we all do DUMB things when we’re 15) And through all of this. WB/DC answers our Monkey Paw wish.

But here’s the thing abt the monkeys paw: you’ll get what you wish for, but it’s gonna come with a Big Ass Catch

And that catch, while they gave us the same lineup and same voicecast, they also gave us a comedy-focused & fully super-d/simplified style. And “fans” were Outraged with that.

But here we are again, 7 years later. And there’s a whole generation of fans who have forgotten the mistakes of the past, thinking and hoping against any kind of logic & blinded by nostalgia, that maybe JUST MAYBE. WB will revive a cartoon that ended in Two Thousand and Fucking Seven.

I tutor kids now who weren’t even born by then! The only Titans they know are TTG! And when they tell me they LOVE them, I say “that’s AWESOME dude! Did you know that they’ve got comic books abt them too?”

I tell them about the new generation of TTG! comics, the ones based on the cartoon they grew up with, not the ones I did. I let them know that there’s even more kid & teen heroes beyond the titans. And if they have a certain fav I let them tell me everything they love abt them and I tell them a cool Fact that might encourage them to find out more later!

Some days I HATE TTG, but I will NEVER tell a child that I hate something they love. I saw too much of that when I was growing up and I’ll be damned before I turn around and do the same damn thing to these kids.

Cartoons are a WONDERFUL medium to introduce a new generation of fans to these characters. And we should be encouraging WB to take more chances on bringing more of them to life. Not asking for the same few characters or groups to be redone over and over again.

Give me a Birds of Prey limited series! Give me a Secret Six Adult Oriented action-comedy! Explore that Amethyst short, with all its 80s game tech+magical girl anime aesthetic! Explore more Obscure characters with a quick 5-10 min story! Put a fresh new spin on a golden/silver age storyline (bc lbrhh some of them got WILD)

Just for the love of fuck stop pretending that One cartoon was the absolute Peak of Achievement and is the only thing that deserves to be revived or redone to death. Teen Titans WILL get another cartoon eventually. It’s like Scooby Doo and Batman. Its like Sherlock Holmes or Star Trek. It’s just a little early in its journey but it WILL have another reboot, another reimagining, another chance to shine for an entirely new generation. Everyone will have their preferences.

Just sit down, have a juice box and popcorn and enjoy ur fan servicey nonsense movie that you asked for But Didn’t Ask For, until we get that brand new series again.

TTG is gonna have to end eventually. And when it does, WB will be rubbing their hands together just biding its time until they can reboot the Titans again.

okay so even though Terminus is no longer apart of the Magistrate and Mal'damba and him are in an established relationship (it's not extremely early into it but it's still kinda early sue me) he still gets extremely depressed sometimes. And Mal'damba can tell when this happens because he ends up becoming even more distant that he usually is.

In short, it's actually pretty bad but he just gives Term his space when it happens. It's no big deal, really. He understands because he's felt the same way but we're not gonna get into that tonight

ANYWAYS, one day Term is just feeling absolutely terrible like when he was working for for the Magistrate bad (he hadn't felt like that in a while so it's like a punch in the gut and a slap to the face. that....didn't make any sense). And he's felt that bad for like the past 3 or 4 days so yknown damba just gives him space like he usually does

He decides to go off into a different room and do something else important bc if Term wants to be alone there's no point in worrying too much abt him. And like maybe 10 minutes later while damba is standing up doing something, he feels Term just kinda wrap his arms around his waist and he's hella shocked bc A) he didn't even know Term was behind him and B) Term does not like physical affection at all

Actually, neither of them like physical affection at all. Like damba doesn't like it but he'll put up with it only being mildly uncomfortable and annoyed, but Term will straight up push you away physically if he thinks you're gonna attempt to hug him. He'll really only let Inara hug him bc it reminds him of older, happier times. Only recently he'd let Mal'damba do it too, but he hasn't really taken him up on that offer

However, Mal'damba just allows it to happen. He knows that Term has been through hell and back, and while he was a lot better than before, he still has those days. Anything Mal'damba could do to comfort him at that time, he'd be willing to do it

After a little bit, Mal'damba hears Term mumble a quiet apology as he lets go. He tells Term that he doesn't really have to apologize for anything and that if he ever needs anything, whether it be moral support or not, he's there for him. Terminus only gave a small nod before walking off again. The hug did make him feel a bit better, sure, but for some odd reason, Mal'damba telling him that he's there for him made a bigger impact. It felt...nice to have someone else who is willing to help him through tough times

classes

OKAY so there are three classes: dps, tank, and support. dps focuses on damaging the enemy, tanks can put up shields / have greater health to allow their team to fight longer, and supports heal ppl on their team. jeff and the rest of the overwatch team ™ have kindly divided up all the heroes up into the categories that you see on the bottom of the screen during the “hero select” part before a match starts.

generally, you want to have at least one from each class on a team to make it a balanced team. unfortunately, you might not see that as often in arcade modes / quickplay, but it’s ok!! 

abilities

each hero has different mechanics and skills, so i highly suggest going in the practice range + vs ai to test out the different abilities and things like that. you have your weapon, 2 “special” abilities with cooldowns, and 1 ultimate ability that you can charge up. by practicing w/ the hero against other ppl, you can figure out what times are best to use each ability and stuff like that.

oh,,, the dps,,,,,, players,,,,,,, as a support main, i can be tired ™ of dps players who overextend and then demand “i need healing” constantly,,,, but ur not gonna be one of those players!!! dw dw

essentially, you gotta be Good at Aiming to be a Good DPS (but that’s ok, there are some heroes that do not have a high skill cap)

soldier 76 is a good “beginner” hero to start off on bc 1. you play him during the tutorial and 2. he’s the most traditional fps character you can play in the game. he’s got sprint so you can get to places faster, a little biotic field to heal yourself with, and a nice rocket so you can blast someone in the face. the ultimate is also auto-aim so that’s even more helpful for beginner players.

junkrat is another dps that’s relatively easy to play for ppl bc his little bomb things go off and have an explosion radius damage. bastion, mei, and symmetra all have sorta self-heal-ish abilities / passives that might make them easier for you to pick up. symmetra and torbjorn have turrets that auto-aim, so they can be easier heroes to pick up too. just know that ur gonna get smacked later on in higher levels bc No One Likes Playing Against These Two DSJKSDKDSJKKJ

genji, hanzo, and widowmaker tend to be the most popular dps that i see ppl choose in games? idk why tho

tanks

the unsung heroes of overwatch,,,,, no one bothers to play tank in quick play and it’s truly a tragedy bc u never realize how much u need a tank until u need a tank

your job as a tank is to 1. be that big distraction that the enemy team wants to go after, 2. make space for your team to work in, and 3. protect your team. this is why they have high health and shield abilities. 

there are 2 different types of tanks: main tanks and off-tanks. off-tanks are generally more mobile, have less health, their defense abilities are shorter, and have “more offensive” capabilities than main tanks (so kinda like a dps / tank hybrid?). they go zooming around more often to protect teammates that are farther away from the objective. main tanks are solid, thicc, rock-hard bastions of protection that get on the payload / control point and do their damn bestest to keep the objectives going + protect their teams with their blessed shields.

some ppl are picky on how to categorize them, but here’s my categorization: off-tanks: dva, zarya, wrecking ball, roadhog main tanks: orisa, reinhardt, winston (winston’s on thin ice tho)

i’d say dva is the most popular tank + it’s nice to pick up as a beginner bc she’s got good mobility, infinite ammo, and a ���second life” with the mech and baby dva (you’ll see when u play her). in terms of main tank, i’ve heard ppl say that reinhardt is the easiest main tank to pick up ???? but i personally prefer orisa over him bc her shields are easier to deploy and you can kill things from afar. her reload time is very slow compared to other heroes.

supports

oh, my favorite class :”) i lov playing support SDKJSDKJSDJK

basically, these are your healers!! they keep your team in tip-top shape + make sure that no one dies. (ppl still die.)

mercy is the easiest support to play imo. your healing beam can lock onto a person + you have high mobility + i genuinely love mercy’s gun even tho i should be focusing on healing. mercy does get a bad rep for being “every e-girl’s main” and ppl might be rude to u if ur a mercy main ;; anyhow, the most important thing to focus on as mercy is your positioning. do not get urself into a position where you cannot easily get out and please don’t die ;;

lucio is another hero that has high mobility and requires positioning bc you have aoe heal but u need to make sure your team is within your radius. wall-riding is very fun too and booping ppl off cliffs is highly entertaining.

brigitte, moira, and zenyatta are supports, but it’s very easy to be a pseudo-dps with them if you’re interested in taking down ur enemies too. 

ana is probably the hardest hero bc she has little mobility and requires good aim to heal and to kill. on that note, zen and ana are the supports that require you to be good at aiming.

tips

it’s overwhelming at first but you’ll get to know all the abilities relatively well 

turn your sound up

each hero has their own unique “sound” whether that be footsteps or ultimate voice lines. the ult voice lines change depending on if they’re on your team or the enemy team + it can be very helpful to know them. 

footstep sounds from the enemy team tend to be louder, and the more dangerous the hero, the louder their footstep (ex: reaper, mccree). hearing footsteps has helped me escape from a flanking reaper out to kill me dsjsdjkksdj

watch overwatch esports

pro ovw esports are casted by ppl who explain how the players are moving and reacting + this can help you get a better understanding of the gameplay and abilities

overwatch league is finished, but you can go back and watch their videos + blizzard has been pretty good abt making sure that owl is appealing to newcomers. i’d recommend matches casted by uber and mr. x
