MODERN AU:

arthur and john had a minecraft world where they built the weirdest stuff ever then showed dutch. there was no aesthetic houses.

there was the glass dome, the giant box which they filled with animals and turned upside down, the “jail cell” they put hosea in after he yelled at john at the dinner table, badly followed tutorial builds, zombie spawner, huge tnt block, anything really.

sean also had a minecraft world with his da when he was a kid, labelled “daddy smells”and when lenny asked him to play minecraft with him, he rifled through his stuff, found the world and sobbed. he remembered it so clearly, he had built an ugly house which his da was very very happy with, calling it lovely and saying he’d live there. his da had built a replica of their house, sean had put a sign on it saying “daddy and sean hows”, they had built farms and giant statues, sean didnt even realise they’d spent almost all their time on their world. he’d started it when he was 6 and only stopped playing on it when he was 10 and was more interested in football and playing with his friends. (stop just imagine his friends groupchats when they suddenly see sean macguire, their 12 year old friend who’d fled the country and promptly disappeared, losing complete contact with them, was online after 10 years and playing minecraft. can u imagine them never unfriending his dead account even though his playstation was still in his house when he ran away, suddenly to see it online. CAN U IMAGINE THEM MESSAGING HIM LIKE CHECKING ITS NOT BEEN HACKED AND THEY EXCHANGE SOCIALS AND OHMYGOD-) sorry tangent

anyway him and lenny made a world pretty similar to arthur and johns except sean loves making houses. lenny loves his inhumane redstone experiments, command blocks, barrier blocks etc etc. they also put everyone they dont like in prisons, from micah to the old man who greeted sean by calling him a fenian.

I think a lot of people forget why a character like Micah exists - aside from aiding the plot.

Micah is a guide (of sorts) for you to see what a "bad man" really is, to help you understand why Arthur does what he does and to show you that there's actual thought and morals behind his actions.

Micah, on the other hand, kills because he wants to and for stupid reasons. He is a malicious, mocking, hurtful, and sadistic man who cares very little for anybody but himself. He's a misogynist, racist, and frankly irredeemably evil.

As much as Micah was able to manipulate Dutch, Arthur could see right through him. Ultimately causing a rift between Dutch and Arthur, which is exactly what Micah wanted.

Micah was made for you to see the differences between "good" and "bad" people.

Characters like Sean, Lenny, Charles, all "good" people who have done "bad" just like the rest of the gang, including Arthur. I think the reason that people are quick to say that Arthur was "a bad person until he got tb" is because we see his experiences first hand (plus player choices) and not much of the other "good" gang members' "bad" actions. That and his motives and his background is sometimes misunderstood by players.

Arthur is a "good man", "a saint", "an angel", "a blessing" to some and a "bad", "evil", "cruel" man to others.

Playing as Arthur means getting to understand his internal conflicts and his desire to be a better person, something Micah had no intentions of being.
