Olympians x You (hcs or imagines)
Author note: Geez, it’s been awhile. Sorry, I’ve been in bit of a funk, got both writers block and art block but I just want to drop this. I still have a few things in my drafts, but for now I’ll feed you guys this.
TW (trigger warning):This may have a few Yandere themes in it. And while the Olympians themselves arent really yanderes- they do share similar tendencies considering their myths. Please note that this isn’t completely accurate to their mythology- but it’s just a bit of fun so please take no offence and be nice in the comments.
CW (content warning)⚠️: readers either 17-18+ (to read this I mean), light mentions of nudity, molesting and sexual harassment, toxic behaviour. General (hinted) Yandere behaviour. Reader’s discretion is advised.
🏺- You weren’t sure how you got here but somehow you ended up on mount Olympus of all places.
🪡- Your brain was fuzzy and you hadn’t yet registered the 12 + looming faces above you. When you did notice, they were bickering in a language you didn’t understand (or at the very least, understood a little). It was jarring and you were still trying to get your bearings.
-🏺 You noticed one of them, a woman, dressed in garments fit for royalty (in ancient times at least) and had somewhat of a peacock aesthetic to it, yelling and pointing accusingly at a man, presumably her husband. She didn’t seem happy. Hera. Queen of the Olympians..that means the other must’ve been Zeus..oh boy
🪡- Zeus looked as if he was trying to quell his wife’s anger before things got more out of hand. There were a few others in the back that looked bored of the situation- as if a similar thing has happened before, while others looked mildly amused.
🏺- Despite all that- the argument seemed to have turned completely to you. Hera turning her rage towards you. “You! Where did you come from, how did you arrive here!?” She’d ask in anger, it was evident she had very little patience if any at all, thankfully though she was now speaking a language you could understand. You scrambled to answer her, your body trembling slightly at how her voice shook the marble floor you were sat on.
🪡- You tried to explain to her that you didn’t know how you got here. Your brain still fuzzy with images that didn’t clear up or make sense. This obviously didn’t help the Queen’s anger and you could see her patience slipping. She would scoff and turn back towards the other gods, them discussing what they should do with you.
🏺 - Some suggestions were thrown around, some you weren’t so fond of. Multiple times did they suggest either killing you or throwing you off the mountain (which would kill you anyway). However those ideas were shut down immediately by more ‘kindhearted’ gods. This hasn’t happened in centuries- a human spawning on top of their mountain out of the blue..they aren’t really prepared for this.
🪡- They were almost all out of ideas, until one golden haired music deity bent down to your height and took a closer look at you. His eyes shining as he took in your appearance before a smile started to work its way on his lips. “How about we keep them..?” He suddenly asked, his gaze still set on the little (little to them anyway) human in front of him.
🏺- This made everyone pause and even you were shocked by the suggestion. You found it ridiculous and you argued that despite how flattering it was- you didn’t want to stay with them and you wanted to be returned back to your home. The gods only seemed to ignore you, as if you were a child having an unreasonable temper tantrum. They were all considering keeping you here!
🪡- “Well…” Hermes started. You could tell since he was a bit shorter than the others and he had his signature winged sandals. “It has been quite awhile since the gods have had a plaything..” he would mutter reluctantly. He wasn’t entirely sold on the idea, despite how his father and brothers (most anyway) were grinning like idiots. You, obviously , did not appreciate being referred to as a plaything.
🏺- “Then it is settled..this little one shall be our new plaything!” Zeus grinned, a little too happy for both yours and Hera’s taste. You were about to give them a piece of your mind but was swiftly silenced by a threatening gaze from Hera..to your surprise. And thus began your horrible life with the Olympians..
….
🪡- You were stripped of your modern clothing and given a chiton to wear instead. “It’s too modern for our liking..” Aphrodite would say as she felt up your body in ways that made you shiver in discomfort. “We’re use to our people…how should I say this? Showing a little more skin…” the goddess of love would chuckle sweetly, while you would stare at her in embarrassment and maybe even a hint of disgust. While you could understand where she was coming from- it still didn’t stop you personally from being uncomfortable with they way she was touching you.
🏺-You’d also be dressed up in fine jewellery, much to your surprise..anklets of gold, bangles made of bronze, necklaces etc. sweet smelling oil perfumes covering your body- anything to make seem more ‘appealing’ to the gods and goddess. You were their plaything after all, so it made sense for them to dress you how they liked..no matter how much you disliked it.
🪡- They’d occasionally have you pour them wine at banquets or sit on their laps to just sit there and look pretty. The main gods that did this were of course Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon, definitely Dionysus and at some point Hermes. You didn’t really appreciate this, but rejecting their request would result in a ‘punishment’ for you.
🏺- To your surprise..Ares rarely touched you without your permission, but he was a little mean here and there. He along with Athena and Demeter weren’t as…’touchy’ as the others. And Artemis …you appreciated that..though just because they didn’t touch you in inappropriate ways doesn’t mean they weren’t as ‘crazy’ as the rest.
🪡- For example, while Artemis wasn’t big on being a pest in terms of touching you, she did take you out on hunts..which..wasn’t so bad in your opinion. It was much better than being up on the mountain most days..she thought a little more rationally- but of course- her twin, Apollo, would see you hanging out with his sister and get a little possessive about it. Which you didn’t understand- you weren’t any of their lovers (even if they thought so), but even so..most hunting trips were cut short because of him.
🏺- When you finally got moments to breathe away from the gods..you’d spend it out in the garden..hidden away from everyone and thing..it was your quiet time up until one of the gods summoned you. You found out that you weren’t the first human to be in this position (and probably not the last)..according to one of the lesser known gods (maybe Hebe) you were told that centuries before, a young lad was taken into the heavens to serve Zeus but had been placed into the stars as the constellation known as Aquarius.
🪡- You shivered at the thought..you didn’t want that to happen to you. To be placed in the stars? Doomed to forever look down on earth and watch your family and friends grow? It may have been an honour back then but to you it was almost like a death sentence.
🏺- Either way, life with the Olympians got harder to cope with. Your privacy was always compromised and you were forced to many things you didn’t like. Sometimes the gods would be as bold to sneak up on you while you were bathing and either join you in the pool or touching up your nude body.
🪡-Often giving excuses for why they would do so, or simply ignoring your protest. It wasn’t hard to manhandle you after all..they were gods, and you were a puny human. Why should they care about your thoughts and feelings. It progressively got worse with them kissing your neck or cheek without your permission too- Apollo was the main culprit of that..
🏺- Sometimes you found yourself crying in a corner by yourself at the situation you were in. The only person willing to comfort you being Hestia. She obviously didn’t approve of this but she couldn’t do much besides being a safe space for you to turn to, which you appreciated.
🪡- But no matter how you protest, run, hide, or try to defy them; you are still theirs. That how they see it anyway, and they won’t change their mind..

i heard your name
"i heard your name and i'll never be the same”
===+++===
pairing: cairo sweet x reader
summary: after a life of fleeting things, you come to tennessee, and find someone you don’t want to be “fleeting” anymore, though she may come with ulterior motives
warnings: rivalry, references to sex, hints at student-teacher relationships, reader is being used (duh)
word count: 4.8k
A/N: i really really hate the concept of miller's girl as a whole, but i can't deny that cairo sweet is a captivating character psychologically, and that jenna does an absolutely amazing job. inspired by lolita, pale fire by vladimir nabokov, and the movie hot summer nights.
===+++===
You became aware of Cairo Sweet on a hot, sunny school day, one that almost seemed to mock your lack of enthusiasm for the new school in its beauty and the light breeze.
The high school was an ugly building, one that sat in limbo between southern charm and the studious American educational experience seen in the likes of pretentious New England. The decorator had clearly not known which one to pick, but no amount of fancy classrooms or bookshelves and Turkish rugs would make you forget you were in Tennessee of all places.
It would be just as unmemorable and brief as the last, and that’s exactly what you reminded yourself while you waited dreadfully early in the front office, in an uncomfortable yellow plastic chair that had one leg much shorter than the others.
The receptionist lady seemed nice enough, smiling at you all bright and wrinkly like old people did. “So sorry about the wait, dearie. Any minute now, she’ll be—”
“It’s no problem,” you shrugged. “I’m not really in a rush.”
The woman nodded, her eyes melting into little crows feet at the ends. There was a theory you had heard once, that the more wrinkles someone had, the more they had smiled in their life. It didn’t fit many of the crotchety old people you had met, who seemed to have frowns permanently stitched onto their leathery faces, but it definitely fit her. She glowed like a beacon, or twinkled like a chandelier of happiness.
“Are you excited about coming here?" She asked. "Starting the new semester has to be exciting!” The entire time the older woman kept sheepishly glancing over at the door, waiting someone to come in. Whoever was supposed to be guiding your tour was clearly very late.
You had long given up on hoping your mom would pick a spot and stay there. In two more months maybe, she would announce she 'wanted a change' again, and you wouldn't give this place a second thought when you left, just as you hadn't given the last places a second thought either. But you couldn't just say no.
You smiled back at her. "Yeah, kinda. This seems like a good school."
"Oh it's just splendid!" She assured you. "The kids love it here, it's just-" Before she could finish, the office door swung open, and a girl in crazy clothing bustled in, dropping her bag on the floor in the middle of the room and spinning to the receptionist.
“I’m so, so sorry!” She said, visibly dishevelled (though maybe that was just her nonsense outfit) and maybe sweating a bit. “I completely forgot I was supposed to do this!” She laughed. She seemed like one of those girls that were always drunk— not in a sad, alcoholic way, but like they were drunk on life (and maybe alcohol too).
“It’s alright, Winnie. They haven’t been waiting long.” Winnie spun around, noticing you where you sat, leaning your head back against the wall.
“Hi there, I’m Winnie,” she said, holding out her hand with a smile. You stood up and shook it in your own, smiling back. This would all be fleeting anyhow.
“Hi, yeah I heard. (Y/n)."
Winnie tilted her head, giving you a devilish smirk. She was absurdly energetic for it being so early. "Boy, aren’t you cute.”
“And aren’t you really forward,” you laughed.
She shrugged. “I think it’s more fun that way. You got a nickname?"
"Eh," you shrugged. You did, from your mom, but it wasn't worth mentioning when you wouldn't be here that long. "Not really."
"Nooo, you definitely should have one," she said, and you raised your eyebrows at her.
"I'm really good, I think," you said, grinning. "Not the most nickname—able name out there."
"Fine," she shrugged. "Suit yourself I guess. Now c’mon,” said Winnie, sticking her hand out to you. There was a certain glint in her eyes then. “I’m gonna show you every little place in this shitty little school.”
"Winnie, language!" The receptionist scolded her.
"Sorry," she winced.
Winnie dragged you around the halls like that, hand in hand and pointing into classrooms; she waved to the people that she passed. It was decent sized school, with a big cafeteria and gym, but not much else unique to boast except for the few sports fields outside. Your last school didn't have that, but it had been northern Alaska, so it made sense. It was probably hard, what with the snow.
“Boris!” Winnie waved over at a man in a track suit, with a whistle around his neck that all gym teachers seemed to wear. He rolled his eyes, waving back at her. "That's Coach Fillmore," she explained.
“What’ve I told you about that, Winnie?” He asked.
Winnie slipped her red-heart sunglasses over her eyes, flashing him a smile. “Still your favourite though, right?”
“Yeah yeah.” And he turned his attention back to the football field, coffee in hand. Winnie spun back to you, with an almost infectious aura.
"So, why'd you move?" she asked, grabbing your hand again and tugging you back inside. The metal door slammed shut behind you with a loud thud.
"Witness Protection Program," you shrugged as she pulled you around the corner. “On the run from the cartel." She looked at you like you were crazy for a moment, eyes all wide, then you laughed and ruined it. "I'm kidding. Not actually."
"OOooooO, I like you. Cute and unserious. I thought you were going to be all square, but it turns out you can joke," said Winnie, shaking her head at you. "What's your locker number, again?"
You handed her the paper. "She wrote it on here."
Winnie took it from your hand, holding it up to the fluorescent lights and examining it like a slide under a microscope. "Ah, damn. You're on the opposite side of the school from me. Like literally, the exact opposite side. That's good though, right? Your first block is Calc?"
"Uh, no. It's uh..." you stopped, leaning against a wall and sliding your backpack off. You pulled your schedule from the top pocket. "Creative Writing, with Mr. Miller."
Winnie's eyes lit up, and she punched you on the arm. "No, fucking way?! That's my first block too!"
You shrugged. "I'd honestly rather do that than calculus right now, so."
Winnie laughed. "Yeah, you and any normal person." She stopped for a minute. "Are you okay if I go off and get some breakfast before class? Winnie hungee," she said, rubbing her stomach. "I also kind of ditched my friend, and I told her I'd find her."
You nodded. "Go ahead. I'm just gonna find my locker."
"Okay!" She said, giving you a small salute. "See you in class."
===+++===
You found your way well enough, and after fumbling with the big metal lock and struggling to put the code in, could actually open your yellow locker and throw the heavy bag you had been carrying inside.
You could see other kids walking up and opening theirs around you. Their doors had metal magnets and small whiteboards, stickers and posters. You hadn't brought stuff to decorate your locker in four years. Instead, your backpack had everything you carried in it, ready to go at the drop of a hat.
The creative writing classroom was down a hallway that split off near the gym, and luckily seemed less ugly than the rest of the school. The room smelled of pine and paper, which was probably a good sign, and bookshelves and glass jars littered the walls with a bunch of other random things setting the scenery for the big chalkboard and wooden desk in the middle.
Most of the other students were already there when you arrived through the double doors, including Winnie. She stood at one of the front desks talking to someone. When she saw you, she waved, eyes lighting up like a Christmas tree even from afar. In her past life, this girl would have been a golden retriever. You waved back then turned away, heading to one of the back desks that put you firmly away from the teacher's line of sight.
Mr. Miller seemed like an alright guy, or just enough of one. He didn't do any cheesy introductions of people, or make you do one of those stupid icebreakers that made you want to die, no— he was straight to the point, with just a splash of drama.
"Hello everyone! This semester my main goal is to make you write. And I mean really write." He paused for dramatic effect, as if he thought it was Dead Poet's Society. "This is not like your other English classes, where you put minimal effort into a 'meh' essay and turn it in, and you're happy with a B. No, I want you to feel something."
After that, you couldn't help but tune him out. He wasn't bad, no. But he was just boring and unremarkable, and anything a high school writing teacher from Tennessee would be, in the way he stuttered or played with the lid of his plastic coffee cup.
He spent most of the class prattling off the syllabus and giving out the first assignment, due in a couple of days. You weren't especially interested in writing as a whole, and even less interested in the prompt of 'write about you,' but you shoved the paper into your backpack and figured you'd give it a shot.
"Mr. Miller?" asked a voice from the front.
"Yes, Cairo?” Mr. Miller said, and you raised your head up, looking to where he was speaking. The hand belonged to a girl with dark hair, and you immediately recognised her as the one Winnie had been talking to before class. She was clearly very smart, with a small stack of books on her desk in front of her.
“Are we talking about ourselves literally, as in our achievements, or as in our emotions and how we feel?” she asked. Cairo looked pretty when she talked, though you dismissed the thought as quickly as it came. This was fleeting. It was important to remember that.
“It’s up to you, actually,” he replied, shoving his hands into his pockets and leaning back against his desk. “Whatever really lets me know you.” Boy, how cliche.
When class ended, Winnie bounded over to you with a smile, her school bag tucked under her arm like it had been earlier. “Sooo, how was your first class?”
“It was pretty good, no complaints,” you said, fumbling with your folder and shoving it back into your bag.
“So, listen, do you want to sit with me at lunch? Me and Cairo sit together and you can totally join us if you want,” said Winnie, still as bubbly as ever. She gestured towards the door, and you could see the girl from earlier looking through the books on the bookshelf that stood next to it.
You shook your head. “Sorry, I got invited by a group to sit with them and I already said I would.”
Winnie frowned, pouting cartoonishly with her lower lip drooping. “No worries. If ever again though, me and Cairo would be happy to have you."
You gave her a tight-lipped smile. "Maybe tomorrow."
You ate lunch that day leaning against a concrete wall underneath the football bleachers, with no one else around, a thick paperback in your one hand and a sandwich in the other, headphones over your ears.
===+++===
"Thank you all so much for your submissions," Mr. Miller said, a stack of essays sitting under his arms as he passed them back to the class. The weather of that Friday was much more relaxed, with a smattering of clouds covering up the sun, the way you liked it.
The past three days had been just as uneventful as the last, and you went home each night only to wake up the next morning and stay equally as unenthusiastic, and attempt to bury your face into the fabric of your pillow for another five minutes.
He cleared his throat. "I've decided to do something fun, and kind of crown a 'winner' for the week, if you will." He shrugged. "It's just someone I really was impressed with, and want to recognise so, uh, we'll do this after every writing piece."
From behind the class with your head propped up on your palm, you saw Cairo tensing at his words. It had become clear even through disinterested observation that she cared way more about the class than literally anyone else— maybe even Mr. Miller. She raised her hand first, offered feedback on anyone made to read aloud, and always stayed after. She was probably itching for the recognition and you figured she deserved it too.
Which was why it shocked the hell out of you when Mr. Miller walked right up to his desk, put his hands in his pockets, cleared his throat like he thought it was a drum-roll moment, and announced, "this week I was incredibly impressed with (Y/n)'s writing."
There was no way. You froze, not entirely sure he was talking to you. Maybe he had just mispronounced someone else's name indistinguishably close to yours. Cairo's head whipped around, face equally as in shock. There was no way. Winnie was smiling at you, other kids were staring, and you wanted to die.
"Uh...thanks."
From the other side of the room, Winnie whooped for you, clapping a little, in an awkward way. Someone else let out a cough. Mr. Miller shook his head, and said, "No, thank you. Your writing was really impressive. It made me feel, in a way that was refreshing from some other things I've read."
Cairo whipped back around to gape at him for a moment and then back to you. Then, back to Mr. Miller as he continued. "I don't have much in terms of prizes, but there is a bowl of candy over there, and you can take one if you'd like."
You nodded, standing up and making your way over to the clear bowl. Why the hell not. Writing had never been something you thought you were fantastic at— you had never shared it with anyone since there had been no one to share it with. Your fingers went in, and out you pulled a grape lollipop, retreating back to your seat and popping it in your mouth.
From the front, you felt Cairo glancing at you from over her shoulder, but tried to ignore the raising hairs on the back of your neck with her focus on you. “Okay,” said Mr. Miller. “Turn to your textbooks.”
===+++===
The grape lollipop was still in your mouth at lunchtime, leaning against the concrete wall and feeling the hot Tennessee breeze ruffle against your soft shirt, moving it gently against your skin. It was quiet out, and you had your headphones over one ear, leaving the other one to listen to the trees and the wind.
That's how you heard the footsteps from around the corner, even through your music. You looked up from where your eyes had been tracing the cracks of the concrete and watching the ants walk by into their nearby hill, and there she was.
Cairo Sweet had found you.
She stood a bit down the way, on the path, with her arms crossed right over her chest. Her eyes were just as dark as before, and they bore into yours with a strange carnal desire. It sent a shiver down your spine.
"Uh, hi?" you managed. She didn’t even acknowledge it.
"So, how long are you going to keep lying to Winnie for?" Cairo asked, her voice as smooth as butter on your ears. It was a question that caught you completely off guard in its sincerity.
"Uh— I'm not— I haven't been lying," you stammered. Cairo wasn't convinced; her eyebrows lifted a little, creasing her forehead in disbelief. She took a step, one agonisingly after the other, closing the distance between you two until she stood directly beneath you, staring up through her lashes in a near haunting way. Subconsciously you took a small step back.
"I have a question," she whispered, like it was right in your ears. You could feel your blood rushing to them quickly, and it felt as if everything was happening in an almost sinful daze, slow and burning.
"Yeah?" you murmured back, fighting against the lollipop to speak. It made it harder to swallow.
"Can you smell my perfume?" Cairo asked, and your brain hung off every word that spilled from her lips.
"Yes," You clumsily nodded, eyes shooting down to her perfect mouth as it moved, then up to the freckled apples of her cheeks. You knew you were breathing loudly. "It's lavender, and—"
"—Good," she praised, barely audible in her sickly soft whisper. You nodded again, head feeling heavy. God, this girl. "Good," Cairo said again. You didn't know what to say.
"I want to read your essay," she continued, scanning the bleachers for a moment and then eyes shifting back to you in full force. She had you right where she wanted you. Under her thumb.
"Uhhhh, why?" you trailed off, confused as all hell and letting out an awkward laugh to cover.
"It's good, isn't it?" She asked, challenging you with her stare and a smirk, as if to say she knew exactly what she was doing to you chemically. "I haven't found many I want to read."
"Essays?" You mumbled.
"Good ones," she corrected you, whispering it slowly. Your gaze lowered to her lips again, her lower one caught between her teeth. Her own eyes flew to the lollipop, the stick hanging between you both.
Your breathing hitched when her hand came up, lightly grabbing the end and oh so gently pulling it from your mouth, some of your saliva carrying with it. She twirled it, never breaking eye contact with you as she placed the purple crystalline sugar on her tongue, closing her mouth around it for a moment. Cairo smiled, then pulled it from her lips and placed it back in yours.
You blinked slowly, unsure of what this was but finding it all too addicting to know how to stop it. At the sound of voices in the distance, the spell was broken, and Cairo looked back over her shoulder. You cleared your throat, realising the situation you were in.
"What're you trying to do?" You asked. It wasn't a gentle question, but it wasn't a harsh one either. Part of you wanted her to whisper back something cheesy and romantic. Or maybe you wanted something salacious to come from her all-too-plush lips, and the moment to end with hers on yours.
But instead she just blinked at you. It was like the question had taken her power away; she faltered completely. She frowned, almost frustrated by you asking, and she didn't have an answer. "Just let me know about the essay? I'd really like to read it."
Before you could reply, she turned around and walked away, as if going back to a drawing board far off in the distance. You watched her go, turning the lollipop over in your mouth.
===+++===
I should like to think that when I am older, the places I have been will make me cry. They will not meld together, in one long train; I will not move from car to car, blazing past what it may contain and never stopping to look out the window.
I will slide into a booth or take out a folding chair if I must, and watch the world go by. I will sit atop the mountains or amongst the grains of sand on a beach, and watch my eyes begin to water in the light of the setting sun.
Your eyes scanned over the essay in your hands, flipping through it and looking at all of Mr. Miller's notes. There were only four, and two of them were 'Wow!'. Even knowing he was impressed, you were at a loss for how this could be considered impressive. It was just words on a paper. Not difficult to write them, or copy them down. You were just talking, but on a page.
My mother seems to think I can’t hear her crying through the walls at night, wishing she were different. Her tears keep me up, and I trip and drown in the puddles of her despair, falling through the surface and into the depths hidden beneath, whenever I leave my room. I love her, and she always manages to convince herself I do not. She loves me, I always must convince myself she does.
It was this paragraph that made you hesitate, standing behind your locker door and rereading it over and over in your mind. There was no way you could show this to someone- and especially not Cairo.
And right there, like Cairo was conjured up by your mind, she was walking right past you, bag over her shoulder and book under her arm. You looked at her pass, the voice in the back of your mind whispering the word fleeting into your ear. It had been a week since your uncomfortable conversation (if you could even call it that) from underneath the bleachers, and she was acting weird.
She was almost avoiding you, and it was rather noticeable. Not to anyone else, who were unaware you knew each other existed, but to you, you knew. When Winnie said good morning and Cairo happened to be there, she would glance away, fully aware of you staring at her like a big idiot.
You found your way into the classroom, and Mr. Miller was writing something on the board in big white letters. It said 'MEANING,' and 'SYMBOL' in a smaller script underneath. He turned back when he was done, smiling over at Cairo and stuffing his hands into his pockets.
She always was the class favourite, and it made sense. Even if your writing was enchantingly fantastic, or some other amazing bullshit word Mr. Miller would write in blue pen that made you doubt he could actually read, Cairo was the one who actually tried. "I want everyone," he said, clearing his throat with a grunt, "to find a partner and sit down with them. This is going to be a partner activity."
You froze. Shit. These things sucked when you were the new kid who knew no one. You glanced over at Winnie, hopeful you'd find a partner in her, but she was madly gesturing towards Cairo to get her attention, and it made you smile a bit at the look on her face— until you saw who Cairo was staring at. You. Your smile went away in an instant.
Her brown eyes were staring at you again, sharp and intense. Then she picked up her bag, tucked the books she brought with her under her arm, and made due on her plan to pick you. You sent your glance away, as if to pretend you couldn't tell she was coming for you. And yet when her books landed on the table with a soft thud, you couldn't ignore her anymore.
"Care to partner up?" She asked, pulling the chair back to sit down before you could even answer. From the other side of the room, you could see Winnie staring at you, looking confused as all hell.
"Uh, sure," you managed. Was she just going to pretend you two hadn't shared whatever that was? It seemed to be the case, and it seemed she knew you were uncomfortable. Cairo Sweet almost seemed to relish in doing that to people.
"So, how'd you enjoy your first week here?" She asked, pulling out a notebook and flipping to a fresh page. She leaned forward, crossing one leg over her other.
You shrugged carefully. "It was good. Boring, but good."
Cairo nodded. "This is a really boring town, so that makes sense."
"Yeah..." you trailed off. She made putting sentences together incredibly hard for you.
Mr. Miller's assignment was boring beyond belief, but Cairo sat up straight the entire time he gave out directions, eyebrows lowering a bit or head tilting after every clarification, like she was making a mental reminder to remember that later. You attempted to ignore her, looking over to the bookshelf on your other side out of boredom.
They were all leather bound, in alternating shades of brown and green, and some hardcovers in sheathes intermixed. Finnegan's Wake and Scienza Nuova, Being and Time and Infinite Jest, you recognised and had read them all. Day-long car rides would do that to you, and it was within reading you found a particular solace from your mom screaming along to the radio.
"(Y/n), are you listening?" Cairo whispered over at you, pulling your gaze back towards her. You nodded, even though you weren't. Her leaning in seemed to fill your nose with her smell. It was lavender, and it was overpowering.
She raised her eyebrows at you like she knew you were lying again. "Really? What're we doing, then?"
You blinked. Shit. "Uh...I don't know, sorry," you apologised, feeling somewhat sheepish. Cairo gave you a judging look, and you were starting to feel like maybe she was regretting choosing you as her partner. She sighed.
"It's fine. Do you want to maybe come over on Friday? We can work on the paper," she said, playing with her pencil. You frowned.
"I thought Winnie said there was a party on Friday."
Now Cairo looked confused. "Are you going to that?"
"I thought you were?" You questioned, trailing off. She laughed at that, like it was a funny suggestion.
"No, it's not really my scene. Winnie's the partier," she grinned. "A party animal, even."
You nodded, feeling yourself relax a little bit. "That makes sense. You're probably writing or reading instead or something."
She seemed intrigued. "Is that what you think of me? A nerd?"
"Uh..." there was a certain heat flowing towards your cheeks, and it felt like the room was a million degrees. "A little, yeah."
"Wooow!—" Her voice rose in a mocking offence.
"—No, I don't— That's not!— I—"
"You think I'm a geek."
"Yeah, only because you're always reading and stuff, so," you argued, raising your hands up. She laughed.
"So if you read, that makes you a nerd?"
"That's obviously not what I'm saying, but the normal kids just go home and watch a show or something," you shrugged. A beat of silence passed between you, and you groaned, realising your mistake and dragging your hands down your face.
"'Normal', huh?" She asked. You sent her a glare, only to find her bottom lip caught between her teeth as she smiled at you, taking great fun in making you red. Then, within an instant, as if it had been flipped like a switch, the weightless look in her eyes shifted to something far darker.
"You know," she said, and you found your heart catching in your throat. "I don't only read in my free time. I find other things to do." She was back at a whisper, leaning in towards your ear. Each enunciation reverberated in your ear drums and filled your brain with sinful ideation.
"I actually like to do things over and over. Creature of habit, really," she continued and your eyebrows rose. The classroom felt even more humid than it had before, and some sweat was already forming on your forehead. Mr. Miller stood behind his desk, and you felt hyperaware of how he kept glancing towards the both of you, his arms crossed and a deep frown on his face at the almost voyeuristic display.
The bell rang, and just as if nothing had happened, Cairo stood up, gathered her things, and walked off like she had under the bleachers.
"Wait-" You were left frozen there, watching her go out the door and down the hall. It took another ten seconds of sitting there for the spell she had cast on you again to be broken, but when it did, you shot up.
Clumsily you threw your notebook into your backpack, slinging it over your shoulder and taking off as quickly as you could. You wouldn't let Cairo flee.
She was near her locker, where you found her a few halls down. From over her shoulder, Winnie saw you coming, and sent you a friendly wave. Cairo followed her eyes, turning towards you and eyes widening. She was clearly surprised, crossing her arms over her chest as you walked right up to her and stopped.
"I have a question," you said.
"Ask away," said Cairo.
You nodded, thinking for a moment. "Why'd you pick me as your partner in this?"
She scoffed at this, uncrossing her arms and rolling her eyes like you were missing something obvious. It hadn't mattered how loud the passing crowd around you was. You heard her loud and clear, and it filled you with a sense of warmth that you hadn't felt since "fleeting" was just another word in the dictionary and not a mantra.
"Because, I think you're special," she said, only to you in the crowd of passing kids. You couldn't see Mr. Miller watching you both intently from the far wall, one arm crossed over the other.
===+++===
okay so this may or may not be a series i'm starting, but i at least know there is a part two that's already halfway done. part of what took me so long and why i've been gone for like a month has just been me agonising over every damn word. so. enjoy this bad boy ig? not that much happens in this part, but i promise the next part will be kind of crazy.

Be Still, My Beating Heart
Varric Tethras - Dragon Age
Genre: Fluff + Smut
Rating: 18+
➤ 10 years after the Inquisition's victory against Corypheus, Varric is older, wiser, and greyer—and you're still as in love with him as you were 10 years ago.
Lately, it could be hard to recognize the passage of time. 10 years ago, a hole was ripped in the veil and threatened to end life as you knew it. Now, a hole has been ripped in the veil, threatening to end life as you know it. Cassandra had once rattled off some quote about those who didn't learn from history being doomed to repeat it.
That certainly fit.
In the grand scheme of things, life hadn't seemed to have changed much in the past 10 years. When he stepped into the room, however, the passage of time hit you like a ton of bricks. His once shorter, red hair was much longer and greyer now. His five-O'clock shadow was now a neatly trimmed, salt and pepper beard. There were two scars slicing through his right eyebrow. But most noticeable of all, his eyes had lost some of their light.
This was not the same Varric you had parted ways with 10 years ago, and yet your heart thrummed steadily against your ribcage just the same when you locked eyes.
"Maker, you're just as beautiful as the day I last laid eyes on you." Varric's voice was rough but quiet in your ear as you trailed kisses up and down his neck, arms draped loosely over his shoulders.
That morning, Solas was on a mission it tear down the veil. Tomorrow, Solas would still be on a mission to tear down the veil. But for that evening—for a measly 8 or so hours—it was just you and Varric, locked away in a shabby room in some inn, catching up on lost time.
You hummed softly before sitting back in Varric's lap, fingertips lightly ghosting over his exposed chest. "We have to stop meeting like this." You slid your hands up his chest and neck slowly until you were cupping his face. "The end of the world does not a romantic time make."
"After this, I'm done. I'm done saving the world," Varric said. He waited for you to lean down and kiss him once before continuing. "Once we deal with Solas, we're turning tail and finding somewhere quiet and peaceful."
You smiled softly. "And who is this 'we'?"
"You and me, doll. Who else?"
Your eyes flickered over to the corner of the room, where Varric's crossbow was resting against the wall. Varric let out a warm laugh.
"I'm smart enough to know when I'm the other woman." You adjusted your hips and felt Varric harden beneath you. An involuntary gasp passed through your lips as Varric sucked in a sharp breath.
"There's no 'other woman'." Varric gripped your hips hard and pressed himself up into you again, eliciting the same reaction from you both. "It's just you. It's always been just you."
You chuckled as you pressed you lips to Varric's, the kiss quickly deepening into something more hungry and needy. "You really expect me to believe there's been no one else in 10 years?" you whispered into his mouth.
Varric's warm tongue licked along your bottom lip before catching it between his teeth. "Doll, you know I like to talk a big game, so what I'm about to say next should prove to you I'm telling the truth." He buried his face in your neck and began sucking on the sensitive flesh there. All the while, his hips bucked upwards to meet yours, desperately seeking friction. "All we've done is make out a little and grind like teenagers and I'm seconds away from cumming. Trust me when I say, there's been no one else."
"Seconds away?" You gave an experimental roll on your hips. "Really?"
Varric let out a strained groan. "Fuck, doll, I'm serious. Don't-" His words were suddenly cut off by a choked grunt, and as his hips thrust upward, he bit down hard on your shoulder. "Fuck," he panted as he kissed the spot where he had left bitemarks in your skin. "Fuck, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
You, on the other hand, were the opposite of sorry. "Don't apologize," you told him. That warmth from your core had spread like wildfire to your entire being. "That was hot."
Varric chuckled under his breath. "I appreciate you trying to make me feel better, but there's nothing hot about an old man's premature ... ending."
"Varric." You grabbed his hand and stuffed it down your pants, guiding his fingers over your soaked underwear. "That was really fucking hot."
Varric's eyes widened when he realized you weren't just trying to staunch the bleeding of his ego. "Oh, you weren't kidding. This is because of me?"
You nodded, unable to form words as his fingers prodded at your aching clit. When Varric's sheepish smile turned to a devilish smirk, you knew you were in trouble.
"I'm the luckiest man in all of Thedas." Varric pushed your underwear to the side and gathered some of the wetness on his fingers before pushing inside you. "And tonight I'm going show you just how grateful I am for that."
You threw your head back at the sudden but pleasurable intrusion. Cursing under your breath, you began to gently lift yourself up and down on Varric's thick fingers. The angle was slightly awkward due to still being seated in his lap, but no amount of discomfort could ever possibly overcome the ecstasy you were enveloped in.
"Varric," you moaned.
Oh, how he had longed to hear his name drip from your lips like honey again. There were many times where he had sworn that if he could just spend one last night with you, he could die a happy man. Now that he had you though, dying was the last thing he intended to do—not when he had just gotten you back.
You weren't sure when you had closed your eyes, but when you opened them again, Varric was staring up at you with a level of adoration you had never seen before. Finally, the light in his eyes had returned.
Calloused thumb moving to circle your clit, he smiled wide—a smile of pure, unabashed joy. "I can't believe you're really here. You're here and you're mine again." He pressed harder, the look in his eyes screaming for you to come undone for him. "I missed you every second of every day."
That tight coil inside you that had sat neglected for a decade had finally been brought back to life, and now it was ready to snap. "Varric." You planted your hands on his chest and pushed, trying to prevent the inevitable. "I'm gonna ... stop, please. You're gonna make me-"
"You're so breathtaking like this." Varric held you firmly in place, ignoring your pleas. "I could cum again just from watching you squirm and listening to you moan."
Sure enough, when you looked down, Varric was hard again. His erection was pressing firmly against the wet spot on his pants where he had already ejaculated.
You couldn't help but chuckle. "And there you were trying to make me feel sorry for you, old man."
"This is the effect you have on me," he said. "Now be a good girl and cum on my fingers so I can make love to you properly."
Thumb grinding hard into your clit, Varric's fingers curled tightly inside of you until you were seeing stars. Eyes rolled back, the muscles in your legs gave way as you climaxed and you sunk down all the way to the knuckles of Varric's hand.
After a few seconds, Varric pulled his hand out of your pants and gave your ass a gentle pat. "Up we go." He encouraged you to stand up on your wobbly legs and take your pants off. "Steady there."
As soon as you had disrobed from the waist down and Varric had pulled himself free from his pants, he hurriedly pulled you back down into his lap. Before moving any further, however, he decided to slow things down a bit.
"I want to savour this moment." His cock twitched against you and he pulled you closer for a kiss. "Maker, what I would give to stay in this shitty room with you for the rest of my life."
"Alas, someone has to save the world." You ran your fingers through his hair, tugging ever-so-slightly. "Again."
Varric hummed in agreement before pressing a kiss to the column of your throat. Deftly, his hands worked away at the buttons on your shirt. "I need to feel every inch of you pressed up against me," he explained as he helped you out of the rest of your clothes. Once his shirt was off as well and the two of you were completely nude, he pulled you flush against his chest and kissed you again.
Unable to deny yourself any longer, you began to fidget, slowly but surely lining Varric up with your entrance. Varric didn't stop you, and once his tip was prodding at that warm, wet hole he had dreamt about for a whole decade, he wasn't able to deny himself.
"Be gentle with me," he breathed into your mouth. "Slow and steady."
"Slow and steady," you repeated as you lowered yourself down inch by inch.
Varric's death grip on your thighs was enough for you to tell he was already dangerously close to finishing again. You had no room to judge though—not that you ever would—because you were teetering on that precipice just the same.
Once you had steadied yourself, you began to move. Immediately, Varric pushed you back down, nails digging into the soft flesh of your legs. "Not yet, doll," he hissed through gritted teeth. "Fuck, you feel so good. Too good. Maker spare me, you're too good for me."
"Please," you begged. That fire was raging inside of you once more, yearning to be extinguished. "Just a little. I promise I'll go slow."
"I don't want it to end. Not yet." His hands moved to cup your ass. Maintaining complete control, he guided your every movement. The feeling of his cock dragging along your walls caused you both to moan, one of euphoria and one of desperation.
One single stroke had left you both panting, foreheads pressed together as the two of you worked to maintain your composure just a little longer. Eyes closed, you sighed happily when you felt Varric's lips against yours.
"I promise next time will be less pathetic." He smirked against your lips. "Next time I'll make love to you like you deserve."
You shook your head, unable to picture sex better than this. This was what you were sure everyone craved—what people waited their whole lives for and some never achieved. Every nerve in your body was electrified—every touch lingering and leaving you wanting more.
"No," you told him. With that, you began to ride him properly—fear of finishing too fast be damned. "This is perfect."
"Maker's breath!" he cried out. Realizing that you truly didn't care if it all ended just as fast as it had started, he met your enthusiasm halfway and helped you bounce up and down on him. When he came not long after, he came moaning your name.
You weren't far behind, and as your second orgasm ripped through you, you clung to Varric and pressed into him as hard as you could.
"I missed you too," you returned the sentiment after replaying the entire interaction over again in your head. The mixture of Varric's hand running up and down your back and the sweat cooling sent shivers through your body.
"Well, better or not, there will be a next time. And it won't be after a decade apart." He held you close and pressed soft, open-mouthed kisses to every inch of skin he could reach. "I'm not done with you yet—not now, not ever."

My Destruction Is an Hour Late (Homelander x Reader)
Summary: As a nameless, faceless administrative assistant, you never expected any members of The Seven to give you the time of day. In your year or so of working at Vought, Homelander’s taken a particular liking to you, always seeking you out to help him with whatever tasks or projects he can conjure up to take up as much of your time as possible. When you’re not available to help him after hours since you have a date planned, his interest in you proves to be far more than professional.
Note: Reader is a woman but no other descriptors are used. First time writing for Homelander so I hope it’s at least okay! Y/N naming convention isn’t used in this, Homelander only refers to you by pet names. This takes place between seasons 1 and 2. On the shorter side of what I usually write, but a lot happens in this. Title comes from one of my favorite lines from Buddy’s Rendezvous by Father John Misty. Do not interact if you are under 18 or if you post thinspo/ED content.
Word count: 3.5k
Warnings: Homelander is a warning. Suspected murder, age gap (Homelander is in his 40s while the reader is 20s/30s), emotional manipulation, some dubcon which involves explicit depictions of food play and mommy kink. Do not interact if you are under 18.
Being part of the corporate machine wasn’t exactly what you’d dreamed of when you were a little girl, but working for Vought softened the blow. You could see the look in people’s eyes when you told them who your employer was, one of the first things strangers learned about you. Interest and envy punctuated every question, but what everyone wanted to know was ‘Have you ever met any of The Seven?’
You had, and you weren’t sure whether it was a good or bad thing that in your drive to keep the best paying job you’d ever had in an overpriced city like New York, you earned a reputation of reliability, which meant extra assignments but the overtime pay to go with it. One supe in particular was the source of most of your after hours work. Needless to say, he wasn’t pleased about the singular occasion when you were unavailable.
“I’m so sorry, sir,” you said. “I can’t tonight. I blocked off my time this evening on my calendar.”
“Yes, I saw that, but what could you possibly be doing that you can’t help me with this? You’re my go-to! I thought you were reliable, but this is—“
“I have a date,” you said softly.
His jaw clenched, and you could’ve sworn you saw a flash of red in his eyes for a brief moment as he glared at you. He couldn’t have been that angry that you wouldn’t stay late to help him, not when there were dozens of other low-level Vought employees around. You couldn’t accept jealousy as a possible motivation, perhaps possessiveness, you’d heard of his odd relationship with Madelyn Stilwell, who was killed a little over a month after Vought hired you.
“I’m sorry, sir,” you repeated weakly. “I can help tomorrow.”
He scoffed, clearly expecting you to offer to cancel your date to help him instead. Vought was one of the highest paying employers in the city, and you’d heard from your acquaintances in the HR department that the average job posting got well over 2,000 applicants on the low end. It wasn't uncommon for employees to work late nights here and there, but it seemed like so much of your time was consumed by Homelander. You’d foolishly volunteered to help him with something not long after you’d been hired, and as he said, you’d become his go-to. He intimidated you, but at times you found he could be almost sweet when it was just the two of you.
In all honesty, your social life had suffered immensely since you began working at Vought, and some of your friends had stopped the pretense of asking if you were free when they were planning to hang out, and you’d only become aware of the plans when you saw the Instagram stories after the fact. Restaurants, concerts, weekend trips—that used to be you. In a fit of loneliness and desperation one of the few nights you didn’t arrive back at your apartment and practically collapse asleep, you’d opened all of the dating apps you hadn’t touched in months, and quickly arranged a dinner date at your place with a nice enough guy named Jesse.
You sunk into your desk chair, an expensive ergonomic one he specifically had Ashley order for you because you’d complained of back pain once. Returning to your assignment at hand, you tried to ignore the eyes on you for declining Homelander’s request. At least five o’clock came sooner rather than later, and you rushed to gather your things, wanting to get out of the building as quickly as possible to avoid any further confrontations.
It was odd leaving Vought Tower when it was still light out. You’d almost gotten used to leaving for work and coming home in the dark. The train back to your apartment was unusually crowded, a consequence of actually leaving at rush hour. Jesse would be over at seven, leaving you just an hour and a half when you got back home to cook and get ready. You’d decided on lasagna, a dish easy to make but equally easy to impress with.
Multitasking dinner and fixing up your hair and makeup probably wasn’t the best idea you’d ever had, but before working at Vought, you loved to entertain. It’d been so long, though, you’d forgotten how involved it was. Despite nearly spilling pasta sauce on your simple yet classic black dress, you were a bit relieved when Jesse seemed to be running a few minutes late–until a few minutes turned into far more.
7:14 ‘If you need directions, let me know!’
7:36 ‘Hey, is everything okay?’
7:53 ‘Are you seriously ghosting me?’
At a few minutes past eight, you angrily typed a simple ‘Fuck you’ when a knock at the door startled you, and you nearly pressed send when you flinched. You had half a mind not to answer. Who the hell did he think he was showing up an hour late? Another impatient, more forceful knock echoed through your apartment and you rose to your feet, throwing your phone aside on the couch and storming over to the front door.
Opening it, you expected to see your less than punctual date in your doorway. Instead, the man at your door looked extremely out of place in your modest apartment building.
“Homelander?”
“Sorry I’m late,” he said. “Is that lasagna I smell? Yummy.”
“I—what are you doing here? Not that I’m not glad to see you, but—“
A drop of blood rolled from one of his gloved hands and onto the floor in the hallway. Your mind immediately raced to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he’d just apprehended some violent criminal. Although, in that case, he’d return to the tower right away and report the incident for the crime analytics team.
“I was just in the area and thought I’d stop by,” he said casually, as if he regularly came over to your place unannounced.
You nodded, moving out of the way for him to enter. “Of course, um, is everything okay?”
Vought kept all employee information in a database, and you were sure he had access to it and found your address that way. Still, it didn’t make any sense. You weren’t important on the Vought totem pole, and you didn’t feel like you and Homelander were all that close. Though, it seemed he knew far more about you than you could have anticipated.
The more you considered it, though, the timing, the convenience of his arrival in the absence of your date, not to mention the literal blood on his hands—you looked at him, wide-eyed at the man who just stepped foot in your home, not wanting to believe the worst but knowing it’d be dishonest otherwise.
Homelander grinned, his pearly white canines glistening like fangs beneath the soft lighting you’d carefully set up in your living room. “Now, why are you looking at me like I’m the big bad wolf?”
Your lip trembled. “It’s nothing.”
“Perfect! Then let’s eat,” he announced jovially. “I’m sure you’ve been waiting long enough.”
“Sure, make yourself at home,” you said.
You went into the kitchen to retrieve the lasagna from the oven, which you’d kept at a low temperature to keep the dish warm but not overcook. Grabbing fresh basil from the fridge, you garnished the pasta with a few leaves. Suddenly lasagna seemed like a stupid choice. Jesse probably would have appreciated it, but Homelander was used to food cooked by Vought’s staff of professional chefs. It was too simple, even if you had made the sauce yourself.
He glanced around at the decor in your apartment while you busied yourself in the kitchen. A framed print of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart on your wall, a well-worn copy of Pride and Prejudice among the books stacked on your coffee table, assorted candles glowing softly in your dim apartment, “You’re quite the romantic, aren’t you?”
You could feel your face heat up at his correct observation, nodding bashfully as you set the tray of lasagna on the table. It didn’t help that in your excitement for the evening, you’d made a ‘first date playlist’ consisting of Elvis, Sinatra, Simone, and some other older artists that played softly from the speaker you had set on the counter. It wasn’t like you had expected Jesse to be the one, but you wanted to indulge yourself.
“Don’t be embarrassed. I am too, really,” he said, his voice oddly assuring, as if he weren’t saying it just to humor you. “Not many of us hopeless romantics around anymore.”
He had taken off his gloves since you’d gone into the kitchen, laying them neatly next to his plate. You ignored the small droplets of blood that had pooled on the table, focusing on making sure the serving of lasagna didn’t collapse into an unsightly mess on his plate. At least luck was on your side in that respect, as you nearly sighed in relief at the nice presentation. You were a bit less careful with your own serving before sitting down across from him.
Having Homelander eat your food felt more nerve-wracking than if Gordon Ramsay were over, it wasn’t like the latter could laser your kitchen table in half if he thought it was horrible.
“Goddamn, this is delicious. What’s that I taste in here?” He sounded genuine, not patronizing as you almost expected. Maybe he just didn’t eat lasagna very often.
“I seasoned the ricotta,” you said.
He snapped his fingers. “That’s it! I didn’t know you cook like this.”
“I love to cook, I just haven’t had much time recently.”
“Interesting what you learn about people outside of work.” He grimaced a bit when he took a sip of wine. That was on you and your tendency to buy cheap alcohol. You could stomach the subpar taste for the sake of the buzz, but as far as you knew, Homelander couldn’t get drunk, so there wasn’t even that benefit.
“I can get you something else to drink. I’m so sorry,” you said. “I have water, iced tea, I think some soda, too.”
He looked at your fridge and huffed, displeased. “You have half a bottle of flat Coke. I’ll take the tea.”
You could’ve given A-Train a run for his money with how fast you raced into the kitchen to pour Homelander a glass of iced tea and bring it back to him.
“Did you find someone to help you with that thing you mentioned earlier?” you asked as you handed him the drink.
He shook his head, waving his hand dismissively. “No, like you said, it can wait until tomorrow.”
You hummed in response, biting back a comment about how it didn’t seem like it just a few hours ago. Instead, you sat back down and focused on finishing the lasagna on your plate. Suddenly it seemed like far too much, but you powered through the rest of the meal you’d worked so hard to make as Homelander led most of the conversation, while you gave short responses, hoping he’d get the hint at how uncomfortable you were. If he did, he certainly didn’t care.
“So, what’s for dessert?” he asked when you collected the dirty plates from the table.
“Ice cream,” you answered. “I’ll get yours first.”
“Nonsense, we can share,” he said.
You merely nodded, disappearing into the kitchen to pull the small carton of vanilla ice cream from your freezer. The bowls in your cupboard seemed too pedestrian to serve Homelander in, until you remembered the plastic, diner-style ice cream cups you’d bought not long after you moved into your apartment. Carefully scooping the dessert into the cup, you were pleased with how professional it looked.
Ice cream and spoon in hand, you set both in front of Homelander, who looked from the treat to you. “Ooh, vanilla, such an under-appreciated flavor, don’t you think?”
“Yeah,” you answered, unwilling to admit you’d only bought it because it was on sale, and you had left over chocolate syrup from when you were on your brief home cafe kick.
You yelped when he pulled you onto his lap, bracing yourself by placing your hands on his chest. He seemed pleased at your reaction, smiling as he took a spoonful of ice cream and held it in front of your mouth.
“Go on, sweetheart,” he said.
You leaned in, opening your mouth and allowing him to feed the dessert to you. His smile widened when you swallowed.
“Okay, my turn,” he said cheerfully, ignoring the way your hand shook as you scooped up a generous amount of ice cream and put the spoon in his mouth.
The moan he let out as he sucked the ice cream off of the spoon was nothing short of sinful, and you felt ashamed that it stirred something in you. Sure, you found Homelander attractive and had a brief crush on him before coming to terms with the fact that it’d never happen, but this was just bizarre.
The odd ritual continued for another few agonizing minutes, and it was almost like he was going out of his way to see how much you would put up with before you’d protest or challenge him. You told yourself it was because you wanted to keep your job, and you were definitely afraid of him, but a small part of you that you tried to push deep into the recesses of your mind was starting to enjoy it.
“You know, I’m having a great time. We should do this more often,” he said, finally setting aside the half-empty cup.
You gulped. “Yeah, if you want to.”
“Do you not want to?”
“It’s not that, I just–I was expecting someone else tonight.”
“Right. Jesse,” he said, spitting the name like venom.
You’d never told Homelander your date’s name in the brief conversation you’d had with him about it back at the tower. There was no way he couldn’t hear your heart racing. If you didn’t calm down, you were sure your dinner was going to make an unwelcome reappearance.
“So, what was the plan after the romantic candle lit dinner? Just a kiss goodnight, or were you going to let him fuck you?” he asked, his voice flat as he pinned you in place with nothing more than a cold stare.
You balked at his wording. Not that you hadn’t heard him curse before, it was a shock in and of itself the first time he dropped the f-bomb in front of you. He’d never been so directly crass toward you, though. “I-I don’t—“
“You don’t put out on the first date?” he finished. “Really make ‘em work for it, huh?”
“I just don’t want to be that intimate with someone I don’t know well,” you answered, shifting uncomfortably in his lap.
“Good thing you know me like the back of your hand, right?”
“Mhm,” you hummed absentmindedly.
His fingers brushed one of the slinky spaghetti straps of your black dress, the caress reminding you of how easily he could break you if he wanted to. You'd seen him lift cars with his bare hands and not even break a sweat. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder, then to the crook of your neck, then your cheek, until finally he captured your lips in a kiss that left you dizzy. You hadn’t realized you’d been holding your breath until he forced your mouth open with his tongue.
Tangling your fingers in his hair in an attempt to steady yourself only encouraged him.
He pulled you closer so you were fully straddling him, and you knew despite the force with which he held your hips in place, he was holding back. You nearly choked on your own spit, or perhaps it was a mix of yours and his at this point. He was already pushing it with how much force you could handle, and he was holding back.
When he finally pulled away, you looked at him, glassy-eyed and lips surely in the process of bruising. You could feel his hardening cock through his suit as it pressed against your thighs. He stared at you, intense and uncomfortable for a few moments before his gaze wandered right next to your ass. He picked up the cup of melted ice cream with one hand, and tore open the front of your dress with the other, as if it were nothing more than tissue paper.
“You dress like such a little prude at work, but this–fuck,” he muttered, almost to himself.
Before you could respond, he poured some of the melted ice cream over your chest, and you gasped at the sensation of the cool liquid making contact with your skin. He watched, mesmerized as it rolled down your breasts, a droplet of vanilla hanging from one of your exposed nipples. He dipped his head, licking it gently before taking your breast in his mouth.
You whimpered as his teeth harshly grazed your nipple, needy and insatiable as he lapped up the sticky ice cream that’d begun to dry on your chest.
“Fuck, mommy,” he whined against your skin, throwing you for one hell of a loop.
He poured the rest of the vanilla ice cream on your chest, some of it landing on your already ruined dress. Throwing the cup aside without a second thought, he brought his attention to your other breast which he’d simply been groping until then. You nearly jumped when he grabbed your hand, threading your fingers through his hair. Oh god, he wanted you to pull him closer.
Hesitantly, you pushed his face against your breast, his moan practically vibrating through you. You kept your hand in his hair, nails scraping against his scalp as he relentlessly sucked and licked your breasts. The stimulation was almost too intense to be pleasurable, but the wetness between your legs said otherwise. You couldn’t hide that from a man like Homelander, your gut twisting at the realization he could probably smell your arousal.
He was fully hard now, and with how rough he was getting, you could tell he was close. Biting your sensitive lip, you slipped your hand between your bodies, rubbing his hard on through his suit.
“Oh fuck, mommy, don’t stop,” he moaned.
It felt almost wrong, seeing the most powerful superhero in the world so vulnerable, but you knew better. Despite the facade of submissiveness, he was in control.
“Are-are you close, baby?” you asked, hoping if you played the part, the less time you’d be subject to his troubling fetish.
“Yes,” he whined. “God, I’m–”
He squeezed your breast when he came, and if you weren’t sure it’d be bruised in the morning before, that had made you certain. You gasped in pain, tears rolling down your cheeks which he wiped away in his post-orgasm haze.
“You did so good. You did so fucking good, just like I knew you would,” he praised.
He picked you up like you were nothing, and in a way, you were nothing. Your body was already pushed to limits you’d never experienced before, and the night was far from over, as you’d find three hours and a broken box spring later. You weren’t sure at what point you’d fallen asleep–or maybe passed out was more like it–but when you awoke the next morning well past nine o’clock, your body was almost too sore to move as quickly as you needed it to.
“Good morning, babe,” Homelander greeted as you shuffled into the kitchen, leaning against the counter as if he owned the place.
“Homelander, I’m going to be late—“
“No you’re not. I already called in for you, let ‘em know you’re taking a sick day. We can keep the little white lie between us,” he said, with a mischievous smile and a wink.
“Oh,” was all you managed as you sat at the table, a wrapped breakfast sandwich and cup of coffee from the bagel shop you stopped in every morning was sitting neatly at your place. “You picked up breakfast?”
“It’s the least I can do after you made dinner last night. By the way, the people over there wanted me to tell you congrats when I let them know the good news.”
“Good news?”
“Your promotion,” he said, as if it were obvious. “You’ll be reporting directly to me from now on, take out all of the bureaucratic bullshit between us.”
“Thank you,” you said, voice shaky and uncertain.
He pursed his lips. “I’d expect a little more fucking enthusiasm, but we can work on that.”
“You’re right, I’m just still a little groggy is all,” you said, forcing a smile on your tired face. “Thank you, honey. I appreciate it.”
“There we go,” he said, his quick mood shift almost startling you as he leaned down to give you a kiss. “You know I’m always looking out for you, right, babe?”
You glanced at the dried blood on the other side of the table, where he’d been sitting the previous night. Before you could think too much about it, you widened the fake smile you were giving him. “Of course I do.”

You deserve every single one of these 3000 followers!! You deserve to have ALL the followers.
and for the prompt. I just thought of something silly. 😂😂😂
"Eddie, why are all of my shirts cropped??!"
I am so happy you sent something in, and that it's silly. Thank you so much my lovely friend! 💖
👕👕👕👕👕👕👕👕👕👕👕
Unpacking was the worst thing in the world, Steve decided.
It didn't help that their AC was barely functioning and the only fan they had was in the bathroom so the air would circulate and they could avoid mold until the window was fixed.
Who even decided to move during the middle of summer?
Eddie had already promised he'd unpack the books because he was so picky about organization, but the rest for their bedroom was up to Steve. He unpacked the bedding and bedside table stuff earlier, but the clothes. God, they had so many clothes.
He managed to work through most of Eddie’s easily. He had a lot, but most of them were already folded and could be put in drawers. Steve’s required more hangers.
Steve cut open the next box, pulling out his favorite sweater. All his sweaters needed to be hung up. God, why did he even have this many sweaters?
When he was done with that, he moved onto the next box: his shirts. Most of them were his t-shirts, things he wore around the house or when they were hanging out with the kids.
And every single one he pulled out of the box was shorter than he remembered.
After six of them, he decided to try one on and see if he was going crazy from the heat or if they actually were shorter.
Cropped. It was fucking cropped.
All of them were.
“Eddie!” He yelled, trying not to let his anger turn this into something more than it was.
“Yes, my love?” Eddie called back from the end of the hall.
“Why are all of my shirts cropped?”
He wasn’t given an answer, which was an answer in itself.
He stormed out of the room and nearly ran into Eddie, who was walking into the room, piece of hair already in his mouth.
“You look great, sweetheart,” he tried to say.
Steve held a finger to his lips before placing both hands on his hips.
“You did this to all of my t-shirts?”
“Not all of them. But a lot of them.”
“Why?”
Eddie at least seemed like he was regretting doing it, at least a little.
“Well, the first was a dare from Robin. And then I did a couple more because you only wear them when we’re home alone so I figured it wouldn’t matter.”
“And then the others?”
“I got carried away.”
“And?”
Eddie sighed. “I wanted to see your body! Sorry for being so in love with you?”
Steve couldn’t help the laugh he let out at that.
Eddie was nothing if not absolutely infatuated with his body: his scars, his freckles and moles, the way his hips fit perfectly in Eddie’s hands, his happy trail. It made sense that he’d find an excuse to see more of it.
And Steve couldn’t even be mad. It’s not like he ruined anything, and none of the cropped shirts were expensive. Plus, it was the hottest summer Steve could remember and having less clothing on as much as possible seemed ideal.
Steve wrapped his arms around Eddie’s neck and kissed his forehead.
“I could’ve just found some crop tops at the store, you know.”
“Why waste the money? You’ve got perfectly croppable clothes here.”
“You’re lucky I love you,” Steve sighed, but smiled.
Eddie’s hands drifted to Steve’s hips, squeezing bare skin.
Yeah, Steve was definitely okay with the crop tops.
“I know I am.”

Road trip
Tess Servopoulos x Reader
Request- hear me out messr please. Reader along for the ride with Tess Joel and Ellie looking for fireflies. One night they’re holed up in some random house somewhere and Tess and reader need so relief. And they get busyyyyyyy but have to be quiet because Joel and Ellie might hear them. Tess with her hand on your mouth and fucking you and trapping her moans in your mouth🤤🤤 PLEASE
A/n- ngl. I’ve rewritten it twice. And I still don’t particularly like it allll that much. But I promised you guys these smutober posts and now it’s November so I’m v v sorry. But here’s the last smutober post. Enjoy. Smuts on the shorter side but it felt fitting for the scene!
Word count: 3.7k
Warnings: 18+ | smut- fingering ( r receiving)
Navigation | AO3 | Tess masterlist
“ I’m starving “ Ellie complained for what felt like the millionth time, dragging out her words and dramatically slumping over as she walked with a groan. It made a smile tug at your lips as you watched her in amusement, a glance over at Tess showing she had the same look on her face.
That only made you smile more. Tess had grown an incredibly soft spot for the kid over the months. In fact she’d had a soft spot for her from the very beginning. If it hadn’t have been for her none of you would even be stood where you were now.
Wherever there was.
“ where even are we? “ Ellie asked, hanging back from Joel a little to then look up at you and Tess. As if reading your mind.
“ oh somewhere in Iowa I think. Joel? “
“ Iowa “ he confirmed from the front of the group “ keep up “ Jackson felt forever away, you were all putting in long long days of walking. Taking longer routes to avoid big cities, traipsing through back roads and woodland. You had suggested trying to find a car. Joel hadn’t even given you an answer to that, just one of his looks that said ‘ are you fucking with me right now? ‘
You knew it’d be damn near impossible to find one that still worked but you’d suggest anything to get a break from all that damn walking.
“ you ever been to Iowa? “ Ellie asked, kicking a rock along the ground as she walked beside you. The poor kid looked exhausted. Sometimes you forgot how young she was.
“ no. I never really did any travelling until the world ended. And if I had I don’t think Iowa would’ve been at the top of my list “ you said with a laugh and she nodded, but yawned before she could say anything else. You sighed and placed a gentle hand to her shoulder “ you wanna stop kid? “ she glanced over at where Joel had stopped walking and tried to straighten her self out a little more.
“ I’m not even tired “ you sighed again and rolled your eyes. She seemed hell bent on impressing Joel. Like she had some need to prove to him that she was much stronger than she looked, that she could handle herself. She seemed to forget she was just a kid. And an entire day of walking, plus the fact that she was hungry? It was time to stop.
“ Joel lemme see that map “ Tess piped up, beckoning for it with her fingers before just taking the map from him before he could even agree to it.
“ we still got at least another hour of light we should keep- “
“ I’m tired too “ you interrupted. In truth you thought maybe you could hack another hour or so before you dropped. You were exhausted but you could keep going if you had to. But Ellie couldn’t and two voices were better than one. Ellie needed to sleep. Even if she refused to admit it to Joel herself. Tess glanced over at you, a slight warm look in her eyes as she realised why you had said it.
You were seeing that warmth a little more the longer she was around Ellie. A warmth she’d buried for so long, that only you got to really see, finally being pulled up to the surface.
Some deep rooted motherly instinct to protect this scrappy little kid that was now in your care. Ellie was making her soft. And maybe you too.
“ there’s a small town about a mile that way “ she said and nodded in the direction of the town “ I doubt there’d be any infected we’re in the middle of fuckin nowhere. And it’s so small it’s barely even a town… head into one of the neighbourhoods on the outskirts. Bunk down in one of the houses for the night. Set off early again tomorrow morning “ Joel gave a small sigh before glancing at Ellie and nodding.
“ alright. Let’s go “ you pretended not to catch the look of relief that flashed across Ellie’s face as you ushered her to walk in front of you. Joel led the way and Tess fell into position next to you at the back. She looked tired too. Everyone was fucking tired, you’d like to bet Joel was too. He was just stubborn as fuck about… well everything. But then again, so was Tess. Trying to get either of them to rest for the entire journey had been a mission in itself.
“ this means we can eat soon right? “ you chuckled and nodded
“ we have some of those tins of ravioli you like. Oh and I have some rabbit left over, you can have mine if you want “ she looked quite pleased with that knowledge and seemed to walk a little faster.
“ did you eat today? “ Tess said quietly by your side as Ellie caught up with Joel, ready to hit him with a million and one questions now “ I didn’t see you have anything this mornin and you’re giving Ellie the meat… “ you shrugged and rubbed at your temples lightly, a headache settling itself in. You were tired and tense and hungry. And now the thought of stopping for the day was fully in your mind, you were realising just how tense every single muscle in your body was. Maybe you couldn’t have made it another hour or two.
“ I’ll eat when we stop “ you said and gave her a soft smile as if that would make her believe you more.
In truth your hunger wasn’t the worst thing. It was the fact that you were getting a little homesick.
That shitty Boston apartment and your equally as shitty bed. It was barely big enough to fit the two of you in, was propped up on one side with bricks, but you kinda liked that because it meant you had to sleep wrapped up in Tess’ arms each night. The QZ wasn’t exactly stress free but it was a lot less taxing than traipsing across the country with a kid.
You’d deal with FEDRA fucks and wannabe smugglers over hunters and slavers any day. You missed walking around the QZ with some air of power with Tess, then going back home and spending the evening de stressing from the day with her. The comfortable silence as you counted cards, getting her to lift the two floorboards in the back corner behind the couch to stash your pills. Letting her ease your aching body after particularly stressful days, easing away the ache of bruises with her lips and her fingers.
It had been weeks since you’d had any form of… de stressing with Tess. Of any kind. But particularly the latter.
And the last time hadn’t exactly been anything to shout about either. Needing to have it over and done with as fast as possible before Joel wondered why you’d both been out hunting so long. You’d only just about lost the bruises on your back from where she’d pushed you up against the closest tree the second she deemed you both far enough away from Joel and Ellie’s earshot.
It wasn’t exactly special or even particularly comfortable. It had felt dirty and obscene, to have her fucking you out in the open like that. But you’d gladly take the opportunity again. The things you would do to be back there again, her hand down the front of your jeans and her lips on your neck. Or better yet back in Boston and your shitty apartment, to feel her hands on you. Or her mouth. Or both.
Yeah. Both.
That would definitely ease your achy muscles.
“ sweetheart? “ you glanced over at her and she chuckled at the clearly evident look of confusion on your face
“ huh? “
“ you okay? We’re almost there you need to focus, yeah? “
“ yeah. Yeah. I’m good. I’m focussed. Sorry “ you pushed away the thoughts of your girlfriends skilful hands and mouth, and grabbed your gun from where it was strapped to your thigh.
You could see the small neighbourhood you were heading into at the bottom of the hill, it looked empty. But you could never be too sure In the current climate.
You felt the air shift between your group, everyone preparing for the worst in case there were people lurking in the town. Sticking close to the tree line and keeping your eyes on the windows. The high spots. Looking for any sign of a face or a gun.
“ stay close Ellie “ Tess said in a low voice, the girl instantly moving behind you. You, Joel and Tess were a well oiled machine by that point. It was only natural after so many years as a team. You could anticipate each others moves and thoughts, silently communicate with simple looks. It worked well.
The town seemed abandoned. Most of the buildings collapsing in on themselves, windows smashed and the roof tiles missing. There were one or two in the close vicinity that seemed a little more structurally stable. Joel headed for the one closest pointing for you and Tess to take the back whilst he went for the front.
Ellie stuck close to Tess as you made your way towards the back door, trying the handle to find it unlocked. That was a good sign. You opened it and stepped inside, no noise traps. No actual traps. All good signs.
You cleared the downstairs pretty quickly, finding no one there. In fact it seemed as though no one had been there for years. Thick layers of dust only now disturbed by your boots, the feeling of just… emptiness.
Joel returned from clearing the upstairs and gave a small nod.
“ clear “
You all made your way into the garage, silently agreeing that it was the safest spot to sleep. One door into the house and the garage door that nobody could possibly open silently enough not to alarm anyone.
Joel and Tess found one mattress upstairs that wasn’t completely rotten, placing it in the middle for Ellie. You, Tess and Joel opted for the floor. Using the thin blankets you’d taken from Henry and Sams packs back in Pittsburgh. You were almost used to laying on the hard ground now. So you didn’t really even mind. And Tess’ body warmth was enough to chase the chill away.
Ellie devoured the rabbit and her tin of ravioli, scraping out every last drop of sauce she could and still not looking entirely satisfied. You attempted to offer her the rest of yours but Tess stopped you before you could even say the first word in your sentence, placing her hand on yours to keep you in place. And then offering the kid her own.
“ Ellie. Here “
“ it’s okay I’m- “
“ take it. It’s fine “ she took it sheepishly and whispered a thank you before devouring that too. You placed yours into her hands then “ you need- “
“ we can share “ Tess was stubborn but so were you. And Tess sighed with a nod, taking the fork from you and having a bite. Passing the fork back and forth until the tin was empty. You still weren’t particularly full. But you were used to that too.
Ellie passed out ridiculously fast, making you smile at how at ease she looked even in the current circumstances. Joel disappeared briefly back into the house, sounds of broken glass scattering on the floor before returning. He barricaded the door leading back into the house before turning his back to you all, laying down facing the door with a grumbled goodnight.
You chose a spot in the opposite corner of the room to sleep, always feeling safer when no one could sneak up behind you. You felt safer than you had for the majority of the journey, the singular door out blocked. The windows on the garage door too small to fit anyone through. You could all hopefully get some decent sleep.
You settled under the blanket as Tess unlaced her boots slightly. She never took them off now, in case you needed to make a quick escape. Just loosened the laces. You looked over at Ellie fast asleep on the mattress and silently wished there had been another one to use, the concrete of the floor not exactly comfortable. But still, you were all safe as could be. That was all that mattered really.
Tess scooted down behind you, pulling you back against her chest and sliding her arms around you. So she could keep you close and warm, a deep sigh leaving her and tickling the back of your neck. She’d bundled up her jacket to use as some kind of pillow for you, but she also nudged her arm under your head to keep you off the concrete as much as possible.
“ you doing okay? “ she asked quietly, pressing her face to the back of your neck
“ I’m okay “
“ really? you’re so tense “ Tess said quietly, her fingers tracing up and down your side lightly “ you have been all day “
“ my muscles hurt “ you confessed in a whisper as not to wake up Joel or Ellie “ my whole body hurts “
“ oh sweetheart “ she sighed, kissing the back of your neck softly “ you need to relax “ she murmured against your ear, her lips brushing against your skin and her warm breath making goosebumps rise “ I can help you relax “
Her fingers pressed harder, pushing at your aching muscles through your clothes in a way that actually did offer a small amount of relief.
“ good? “ you hummed an answer, pretty sure you could fall asleep like that. Close your eyes and think hard enough to pretend you were back in Boston, that she was easing the pain after a long day on one of the food depot shifts. Lifting and hauling boxes all day, always going home after that assignment feeling like you’d been hit by a truck.
More often than not it ended with her wandering hands making you come over and over again, because according to her it was the best cure for aching muscles. You didn’t know if you entirely believed her logic, but you weren’t exactly going to complain about it.
Her fingers slipped under your sweater and you shivered at the coldness of her touch, but soon let out a soft sigh as she moved upwards. She unashamedly groped at your chest through the material of your bra, a small involuntary whimper escaping your lips.
“ maybe helping me to relax at the same time “ she mumbled, making a smile tug at your lips. You felt her let out a steady sigh, the warm air tickling your neck. Joel shuffled slightly in his sleep and your froze but Tess didn’t stop “ s’okay he’s still asleep “
You wondered just how desperate she was for you to the fact that she had so little fear at being caught. It made your face flush with heat and your back arch involuntarily against her. Her hand immediately left its position under your sweater and flew to your hip, pulling you back against her and squeezing.
“ I wish you could fuck me “ you whispered in practically one breath, horniness starting to cloud your better judgement
“ yeah? “ her voice was that low, sultry tone that felt like warm caramel. Slow and drawn out, warmth flowing over your despite the cold “ missing mommy’s cock baby? “ a whimper slipped past your lips without your permission again, your eyes darting to Ellie and Joel in fear you’d been too loud. Of course you hadn’t. And both of them remained fast asleep
“ Tess- “ you cut yourself off as her hand danced along the waist band of your jeans, pressing soft kisses to your neck. You felt your skin prickle, immediately knowing what she wanted to do. The cold of the concrete no longer affecting you. And as much as you wanted it, you knew you couldn’t. Not there.
“ we can’t “
“ we can. Just be quiet “ you could hear the smile in her voice, feel it against your skin as she wasted no time and carefully undid the button of your jeans, one handed and skilful in a way you hadn’t quite mastered yet, still pressing those soft wet kisses to your neck.
“ Tess… “
“ stay quiet yeah? “ she whispered as she pressed the palm of her hand against your underwear, making your breath hitch at the pressure. Her finger traced along your slit through the materiel. You felt her smile against your neck as she slipped her way past the cotton restraints, noting that as much as she clearly wanted to do it she also didn’t want to waste any time.
So she was quick with moving her finger between your folds, breath stuttering as you tried to remain quiet and calm. As much as you’d said only a second ago that you couldn’t do it, you found yourself moving your leg to let her have better access. It only made her smile more “ thought you said we can’t do it?” She murmured softly, some mixture of smugness and amusement in her tone.
“ shut up “ honestly though it was you that needed to shut up, gasping a little too loudly when her fingers applied a little more pressure.
Maybe it was a good thing that she clearly needed it over with quickly, because you weren’t confident in your ability to be silent. At all. In fact it was a running joke with her and Joel that you were notoriously bad at being quiet. Joel had complained so many times that he could hear you through the walls. Mostly that just encouraged Tess to make you be ten times louder though.
But thankfully for you- and probably Joel too- you were both in no situation to be loud or draw things out tonight. And she knew your body better than you, so as much as she was able to draw it out for hours. She could also have it over in minutes.
You gasped when her fingers circled your clit, slightly embarrassed by how wet her fingers felt after barely a minute of touching you. You got turned in ridiculously fast “ shh shhh be a good girl nice and quiet. Nice and quiet for me “ she urged, voice still silky and soft.
“ I’ve been thinking about this for so long “ you whispered, eyes falling closed as you focussed on the skilful movement of her fingers. Working at you expertly even within the tricky confides of your unbuttoned jeans.
“ is that where you keep going when you zone out? “ she asked with a small laugh. Maybe you weren’t as subtle as you thought you were. At least no one knew what you were actually thinking. The last thing you needed was someone in your head seeing all the filthy things you daydreamed about Tess doing to you…
“ maybe “ she laughed again, but it soon fell into a slightly frustrated sigh.
“ the second we reach Jackson we are finding a bed “ she mumbled, shifting around behind you and seemingly trying to reposition her hand to be more comfortable “ or. Anywhere that I can actually get your fuckin naked “
“ hmm that’d be nic- Tess “ you gasped her name as finally seemed to get her hand into a position that she could get into the perfect spot. The perfect rhythm.
“ there we go “ she picked up the speed, lips attacking your neck at the same time in a utterly dizzying combination. You pressed the back of your hand to your mouth to try stifle any sound that wanted to escape. You were hyper sensitive to every sound. Like somehow your heavy breaths would wake Joel and Ellie , or rustle of the blanket. As if he wasn’t half deaf and Ellie slept like a log.
But somehow that element of fear was twisting into something different, some burning hot type of adrenaline pricking over your skin. Paired with the way Tess was working at your desperate, throbbing clit? You were a goner, already feeling the pressure building and it had barely been a few minutes.
“ you know what else I can’t wait for in Jackson? Hm? I cant wait to hear your pretty sounds again “ you whimpered at the thought. Remembering every filthy word Tess liked to say to you to make you moan, how she would have the smuggest look on her face with every whimper and whine. Showering you in praise for every little noise that passed your lips “ you always sound so pretty for me don’t you baby? “
Your mind replayed as many memories of those times in your head as it could, memories of her words. Her body. God you wanted to see her body again. Wanted to touch her and feel her skin pressing against your own in as many spots as humanly possible. You wanted to bury your face between her legs and never ever leave, make up for lost time and have her make it right back up to you too.
The thought of that, paired with her fingers and lips nipping at your neck, was enough to topple you over the edge.
You trapped her hand between your legs, focusing on trying to stay quiet, shuddering breaths hidden by the thin blanket pulled up to your mouth. You were never more thankful for Joel’s busted ear.
You turned your head, looping your arm around to pull her lips onto yours, not so confident in your ability to remain quiet as you finished. And even with Joel’s shitty hearing and the blanket.
She had the worlds smuggest smile as you moaned softly into her mouth, keeping her hand between your legs as your orgasm washed over you in a draining wave.
It zapped every single last drop of energy you had left in your body, muscles like jelly as you let her go. And in her defence. You were certainly less tense than you had been before.
“ thank you “ you mumbled, eyelids heavy as you tried to not immediately give in to sleep. Tess chuckled slightly and kissed your cheek, withdrawing her hand from your jeans.
“ thanking me for sex now? You really are tired “ you hummed some attempt at an answer and she laughed again, holding you tightly against her “ go to sleep “
“ I owe you one “ Tess smiled and pressed another kiss to your cheek
“ you sure do “

Snow anon: ok I admit I pretytped this in a notepad on mobile since I thought this up in the middle of the night....buuut added onto it when you mentioned how things will get untense when y/n talks lol! And sorry if it's a little bit of a mess, typed it in a half asleep daze since I woke up in the middle of night with idea and had to type it down as fast as possible before my shitty memory deleted it lol!
Baker thinks once they have healed up and so on after being baked...they think the cookies will put em to work and vows to repay the cookies for their kindness....maybe their first words once they are strong enough to talk is "thank you for everything."
Only to discover the spoiling doesn't end once they get stronger. (If ya want: the spoiling INTENSIFIES!) reader is surprised....but then, to explain why this is happening, maybe they say lines that hint at them knowing y/n's past. Like "oh y/n, you must be tired. You've worked so much. Here, I Made your favorite!" Or "Oh heh y/n, I know you worked hard for [item] so I made/got it for you!" and it's like a gaming console y/n had always wanted but could never afford or fit into their life or a plushie they wanted but couldn't get....like the cookies make sure y/n doesn't want for anything.
Also idea...y/n is either talking or learning to talk at this point...like I'm curious how untense the cookies become once y/n can talk!
(Also random guess why it's tense...they don't know if they grabbed the right human until y/n speaks and they recognize their voice and go something like "oh thank the witches we grabbed the right one!"? Lmao!)
Enjoy the milkshake! Idk why it took me so long to write this but here ya go!
Also sorry if this is shorter than the other 2
Chit chatting
-Platonic scenario-
Part 1, Part 2
Strawberry Cookie was panicking at the fact you were standing up, and also understandably scared. Like you you were randomly standing up, how could she not be scared??
Strawberry Cookie had called Wizard Cookie over to make sure you wouldn’t crumble and to their surprise you were pretty much good to walk and move around! As long as you didn’t do anything too wild
Now trying to explain to the two of them proved to be very difficult due to your throat still being too sore to talk
So you had to try and act out what happened since you didn’t know sign language and their was nothing you could write on around so you were kinda embarrassing yourself
In the end you all gave up since you were getting no where. But good news! You could actually go outside finally! So that was nice
At least so you thought…
Some cookies were… kinda concerned by you. You came out of nowhere and couldn’t talk… it’s a bit suspicious
Other cookie were quite friendly and even offered to aid you in walking since you were being guided by Gingerbrave
The cookies who were more friendly with you kept on giving you lots of free stuff, claiming that you seem very familiar so here’s some stuff
While the cookies who were more put off by you tried yo get information out of you, just to see if you could be trusted.
Chili Pepper Cookie was the one who interrogated you the most, you were hanging around Gingerbrave and his friends, like I mean she doesn’t care for them she does care
Chili Pepper Cookie was also the first one to hear you actually say something, what you said was probably really simple like a yes or no but still you could actually speak
After that you just were spoiled by way more cookies, they thanked you for helping them build this glorious kingdom!
You were starting to think that there was more to this cookie game than meets the eye…

Matched: Chapter 1 - The Reunion
Characters: Jake Kiszka x Thea Warnings: 18+. Drinking. Angst. Smut. Lust. Protected sex (p in v). Oral sex (m & f receiving). Fluff. (please let me know if I missed anything) Author's Note: Beginning of an adventure told through the eyes of Jacob.
When I met her, I found myself immediately attracted to her. Pathetic, I know. There was just something about her that drew me to her. Her eyes sparkle when she’s happy but show utter despair when she’s not. I fear if a flower were to look upon her sadness, it would wilt. But the life that shines through when she’s happy is like bathing in the sunlight, warm and comfortable. Her smile is contagious, you can’t help but smile when she does. Her laugh is melodious, like a song you want to listen to over and over again and never tire of hearing it. Her hair, long and dark as it flows over her shoulders and halfway down the spine of her back. Her skin lights me on fire in the best possible way. I crave to feel her skin against mine, tracing my fingers along her skin, tracing every curve and goosebump that raises as I make my mark on her.
I thought I was shit out of luck when I found out that Sam liked her too. Pursued her in every possible way until he finally got her to agree to go out on a date with him. I kept my distance whenever she came around, looked away when he’d kiss her. I tried to keep myself distracted from her, dated around–but no one compared to her. No was like her. I thought of her whenever I had myself buried inside of another woman. She consumed my thoughts at every waking hour, she even infiltrated my dreams.
Seeing her with Sam physically pained me. Did she make him feel the same way she makes me feel? Did he get butterflies whenever he saw her? Did his heart pound in his chest when she was near? Would his palms get sweaty? Did he ever stutter over his words when he spoke with her because of how nervous she makes him?
I would do anything to have her–but she’s with my brother. I can’t do that to him. I can’t be selfish, wanting her all to myself. He seems to genuinely like her, her him. He’s happy, and I don’t want to be the one to ruin that.
Fate, though, seemed to have different plans.
After being away for nearly a year, traveling around the boat, like I’ve always wanted to do–something my twin brother thought was insane, I had come back home to be told of the news that I used to be so desperate to hear.
“We broke up..” Sam says as he pops the top off of a beer bottle and hands it over to me. I gladly take it and drink some of it.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” I say as I set the bottle down on the table. “When did it happen?”
“A few weeks after you left on your boat trip,” He sits down across the table from me and takes a drink of his own beer. “But it ended on good terms.. We mutually decided to split. We fit better as friends.”
“And you’re okay with that?”
Sam nods his head, takes another drink of his beer. The bustle of the people in the bar toned down a little, finally. Between the loud music and the people raising their voices over it to be heard made my head want to explode.
I see his face light up and he waves someone over. “I didn’t think you were going to make it!” He says as he slides out of the booth to hug the incoming guest. I nearly choke on my beer when I see her walking over.
It’s only been a year but somehow she looks different. Her long hair was now shorter, stopping just above her breasts. Those seemed to have gotten bigger too.
Knock it off, Jake. Be respectful.
She stands there, dressed in a black leggings that accentuate her curves and she’s wearing a dark red sweater, a little low cut revealing the top half of her cleavage.
After their hug ends, Sam invites her to join us in the booth. She happily agrees and slides in beside him. My heart hammers in my chest, the same way it always has. I hadn’t thought of her the whole time I was away–or at least the last six months of my trip, I wasn’t. It only took me half the trip to finally decide to get over her. Now here she is, seated across from me, looking more beautiful than she did when I had last seen her.
“So, Jake..” I lift my eyes to look at her. The way she says my name, innocently enough, but still does something to me. “How was your boating trip? I saw a few things you’ve posted, looked like fun.”
“It was good,” I say as I take another drink. “Relaxing, it felt nice to get away from everything for a little while.”
She smiles and it just about kills me and I can’t fight the urge to smile back. “I’m glad you had a good time. Missed you though..”
She missed me?
“Feels good being back?”
“Yeah, it does.” I say.
Sam then excuses himself to the bathroom. He’s leaving us alone. Now the sweaty palms set in. I run them against the fabric of my jeans, willing the nerves to go away. It’s been over a year, almost two, since we were ever alone together. It was quiet between us. Neither one of us is speaking. I had no words, unsure of what to say exactly as the woman I once loved sits in the booth across from me.
Could this really be happening? Is fate trying its damndest to push us back together, though we have never been together? Or is this some cruel joke from the universe, bringing us together like this, only then to rip us apart and force me through the tragic heartbreak of seeing her loving on someone else?
“I saw that you made a stop along the coast of Florida back in June.” She finally says. “Not to sound stalkerish, but I saw you there.”
I looked up again, meeting her eyes. “You were there? You saw me?”
She nods her head. “I wanted to talk to you but uh, you seemed a bit preoccupied with a blonde–practically swallowing her tongue.” My cheeks burned in a flush and I ran a hand through my hair. She giggles and leans back in the booth. “I would’ve gone to see you the next day, but your boat was already gone.”
“You would have come to me?” I ask, not believing a word she was saying. She would have come to me. I barely remember being there. I don’t think I would have remembered her if she did come to me. I barely remember the blonde. I wouldn’t deny that if I woke up with her wrapped up around me, I wouldn’t have been upset. It’s everything I had longed for, to have her wrapped around my body, whimpering my name as I made her come apart at the mercy of my own hands.
“I should’ve gone sooner, maybe I would’ve caught you before you left.” She says, leaning forward on the table.. “After that, you were never seen or heard from. Next thing I know, today comes and Sam is calling me, inviting me out because you finally came back home.”
“And you still came?”
I can see the light blush in her cheeks. She nods her head and smiles. “After seeing you in Florida, you were all I could think about. Hoping you were safe but also hoping you would come back home.”
“I would have, eventually..”
“I see that now.”
My mouth presses into a tight lipped smile. Glancing around the bar, I notice that Sam hasn’t emerged from the bathroom. Pulling out my phone, I shot him a quick text.
‘Where are you?’
Just as quick, he response comes back. ‘Went home. Have some fun! ;)’
“Um well,” I cleared my throat. “Seems like Sam has ditched us.”
“You’re kidding..”
I shake my head and stuff my phone back into my pocket.
Come on, Jake.. Take your chance. She’s here. Don’t let her get away again.
“I’m going to go pay the tab, and then maybe we can get out of here?” I say, in hopes that she’ll say yes. When she nods her head, I begin to slide out of the booth and make my way up to the bar to close the tab. I’ll request the money later from Sam as payment for ditching us. Though I’m secretly hoping tonight won’t be all bad.
If she had shown up on my boat, I would have taken her with me. I would have taken her everywhere with me. So long as I had her and knew she was mine, I would have done it.
“I still have it,” I say. “The boat.”
Having not driven to the bar this evening, I had no other way home. So a walk is what we took back to my place. A place she’s never been. A place that has never been graced with her presence, everything inside untouched. Now she’s here, standing in my living room and holding a glass of wine.
“You brought it all the way here?”
I nod my head. Taking her hand, I pull her out of the living room and out the back door towards the pole barn. Her eyes grew twice their size when I pulled her through the door and flipped on the lights.
“This is so much bigger than I thought it was.” She says as she approaches the boat. She runs her fingers along the still glistening paint. “Don’t tell me you brought women on to this..”
I chuckle but shake my head. “No.. I didn’t think anyone was worth bringing onto this.” I find myself stepping behind her, placing my hands on her hips and drawing her close to me. “Except you..”
She turns her head to the side and lifts her eyes up to look at him. “Only me?”
I nod my head and pull away to lead her around to the back where the ladder is. I drag it down and help her climb up. “I was selfish.. Hoping that I’d find you out there somewhere and that I’d take you back here and make love to you like I’ve always wanted to.”
I caught her biting her bottom lip. She steps up to me and slowly wraps her arms around my neck. “What if we did that now?” She asks.
She.. I stood there, not believing the words that she had spoken. After everything that transpired; our meeting, her falling in love with Sam and then them dating, my heart longing to be hers and she to be mine, and then my leaving. Now she stands before me, suggesting the act of making love to be committed at this moment.
“It’s not the same without being on the waves…” I say with a sly smile.
She shrugs her shoulders and pulls away before walking around me. She ducks inside but peers back out. “We can make our own waves.”
Oh fuck.
I didn’t want to seem desperate and run right after her but at the same time I wanted to run after her. So I met in the middle and hastily went after her. I brought her to the bedroom and gently laid her out on the bed.
Is this really happening?
Her legs wrap around my waist and she pulls me down on top of her. Her breasts are fully pressed up against my chest. Leaning down, I press my lips to hers. My god, they feel so good. They were everything I imagined they would be. Soft and nearly smooth, save for a few breaks in the sensitive skin.
On instinct, my hips grind against her core and she moans into my mouth. I know I’m growing hard and I know she knows because I feel her hand snake its way between our bodies. She cups her hand around my clothed length and slowly starts to move her hand in circles. I groan and bury my face in her neck where I lick and I suck on her skin, leaving a noticeable mark.
I will always mark her so everyone knows that she belongs to me now.
Not being able to contain myself, I pull away and unbutton the rest of my shirt before sliding it off and tossing it somewhere in the room. She sits up as well and removes her top, revealing her braless chest to me. Immediately, I latch onto her left breast as I begin to massage her right one. I circle her nipple with my tongue before lightly nipping at it, which elicits a deep moan from within her.
Licking her nipples once more, I pull away again only to hook my fingers beneath the waistband of her leggings and drag them down her legs along with her panties. I find them to be black and all lace. I wonder if her bra matches, if she ever chose to wear it. Once I have her pants off, I move downwards, hooking her legs over my shoulders.
Her cunt is right there in front me and I couldn’t feel any luckier than I do at this moment. I bet I’m better than any lover she’s ever had.
“Jake…” I hear her whine. It makes my cock twitch inside my pants. Guess I know now that I like to hear her whine like that.
“What do you want, sweetheart?” I tease as I bring my hand to her center and slowly rub my thumb in circles over her clit.
She moans and reaches down with her hands to tug at my hair. “You know what..”
I smirk and move my face closer, removing my thumb and rubbing my nose against her clit instead. I flick out my tongue and lick upwards through her folds, as slowly as possible, just to drive her crazy.
I lick and I suck and I thrust my fingers inside of her until I have her legs clutching my head tightly between them. She comes undone at my mercy and I drink up every drop she has to offer.
Pulling away, I gently drop her legs to the bed and undo my belt before unbuttoning and shoving them down my legs. Digging into my wallet, I pull out a condom and slide it on my length. She moves up the bed to make herself more comfortable and I crawl after her, resting once again in between her legs.
In one swell thrust, I’m plunging deep inside of her, stretching her out. We both moan in pleasure as I bottom out. I’ve always dreamt of this, having my cock buried so far inside of her and making the most beautiful love to her. And now it’s becoming real. I start to move, thrusting in and out at a delicious pace. I come to rest my arms on either side of her head, tangling my fingers inside of her hair.
Her naked breasts bounce with each of my thrusts, they brush against my chest, which turns me on even more. I feel her hook her leg against my waist before I’m suddenly flipped onto my back and she’s on top of me, straddling me. She laughs at the surprised look on my face.
Fuck yeah I’m surprised. No woman has ever done that before.
She keeps the pace I had going, lifting herself up on her knees before letting herself drop back right back down. I can tell she’s close as her walls clench around me.
“Soak me, Thea..” I bring my hand between us and rub her throbbing clit. Her fingers dig into my chest and thrust my hips upwards, pushing myself deeper. My name falls from her mouth as her release coats every inch of me and continues to ride me until her orgasm is through.
Before I even had a chance to register how beautiful she looked, she was off of me in a second and rolling off the condom. Her mouth swallows me and she begins working me to my own release.
“Fuck..” I clutch the sheets in my hands as my legs shake. I didn’t even know I could do that.
Soon she has me coming to my release, the orgasm washing cleanly over me. Her tongue. Goddamn. She licks me from shaft to tip, not missing a single drop of my own release.
Once she is finished and my orgasm subsides into nothing, she crawls back up to me and curls into my side, draping her leg across my waist.
“That was… Wow..” I breathed, my chest rising and falling at a rapid pace as I worked to relax my body. She giggles against my chest and begins to draw little circles on my skin.
“Jake?” I hum in acknowledgment, waiting for her to continue. “Had we seen each other again in Florida, would you have taken me with you?”
I nod my head and look down at her. “In a heartbeat.”
There was a part of me that couldn’t believe that this is all real, that if I were to wake up tomorrow morning, she would be gone and I would have dreamed all of this. A dream that I never would want to wake from, because she’s here and she’s in my arms.

not sure what I just wrote......I woke up and went "I gotta write this out!!!"
“Babe could you come here and help me find that photo album?” You hear Noah call from upstairs
“Coming!” You excuse yourself from the rest of the boys who were sat in the living room. You had told Noah that all their old picture were in an album you had put together upstairs in the hallway closet. “Noah?” You call out as you didn’t see him in the hallway. “No-“
Suddenly you were pulled into the bathroom, with the door shutting quickly behind you. His hand over your mouth as he trapped you between him and the door.
“Listen to me, princess.” He whispered in a growl “you’ve been teasing me all day long and now you’re going to fix what you caused” you look down to see the large tent in his pants
His leg slots between your own and nudges against your pussy.
“Ah, Noah, they’re in the living room!” You whisper yell at him
“You didn’t seem to have a problem walking around in these shorts,” he said tugging on the band “or pushing your ass against me when you had to get past me.” He stated as he began to nip your ear. His hands coming underneath your shirt. His digits squeezing at your skin out of frustration and lust
“Im sorry baby I just-“ you try and speak but your cut off by his attacked to your neck
“Sorry for what baby? For getting me hard? For wanting you?” he flips you around to face the mirror, slightly bending your over the sink. His hard dick pushing against your ass. You had to admit, you were teasing him hoping this would happen. But you were hoping he'd do it after everyone left, maybe it worked too well. His hand came around to the front of your body and slipped into your pants. His slender fingers brushing against you. Playing with your clit, you feel your legs go week as you try to hold yourself up
"You're so fucking wet baby," he pants into your ear "What do you want baby? My fingers or my cock?" he asked you as he other hand came up to grasp your jaw and make you look in the mirror "What does my slutty princess want?"
"y-your cock" you moan in a whisper "p-please"
"Awh such good manners," he smirks bringing you shorts down, his hand grazing your ass landing a spank to the skin, making you jump. You watch him in the mirror as his face, his jaw falling slack as he finally slips inside. He always filled you so deliciously, and you always fit him like a glove.
"Fuck baby," he moaned "So fucking tight" he pants as he thrusts into you. The sound of your skin against his filled the bathroom, you loved having sex in front of the mirror and being able to see his face change in pleasure. His hand stayed on your hips and the other came to the mirror as he came closer to your body. His lips kiss your shoulder, his teeth nipping at the skin. His hand play at your bundle of nerves, as he thrusts become shorter but more intense
"N-noah, please right there!"
"There baby? fuck! You feel so good princess." You could feel his thrusts become erratic, you knew he was getting close to his end "Shit! Gonna cum! Cum with me baby" he moans against your shoulder.
"N-noaahh, cumming!" your jaw fell open as you could feel your stomach tighten in your approaching high. He suddenly came down on your neck with his teeth, his hand slapping over your mouth to keep your cry to a minimum. His hips stuttered against your ass as he empties himself inside of you.
"fuck...fuck baby..." he whispered kissing the bite mark he had just left. After catching your breath, you both get cleaned up and organize yourselves. Before you could open the door he tugs at your arm, you turn to face "we aren't done baby, we'll catch up later" he smirks and pecks your lips "little minx" he chuckled opening the door and letting you come out first. Coming back into the living room the boys were looking over a book
"The Album was here guys" Folio gave Noah a suspecting look
"Yeah, don't know what kind of album you were looking for" Nick chimed in
"....."
".....I added in some of Noah's baby pictures" you said changing the subject
"What? WHER!?" the boys said as they started to flip pages
"Y/N!"
"Well now they won't question us"

PRESENT TIME
She clapped her hands together, smiling down at the man. “Let’s go on a date, then!”
Feitan stared at the girl, wondering if she realized what she had just said.
“… date?”
She nodded. “Yes, a date! It’ll be a lot of fun!”
He set his fork down. “(Name). Do you know what you’re saying?”
She tilted her head. Feitan knew she could say weird things sometimes, not completely understanding what she actually meant.
“Yeah? We can walk around town, shop a little, and have lunch together!”
Feitan rubbed his temple. “(Name).”
He leaned forward, just inches away from her face.
“If date, won’t end very… friendly.”
Feitan eyed her lips for a moment, before pulling back. (Name) stared at him confused, her cheeks heating up.
“But… friends can go on dates too!”
Feitan hummed. “We can if you want, but us going on date means I get to kiss you, touch you.”
“Fei.”
He glanced at her face, his eyes softening. She was blushing, her eyebrows furrowed.
“I don’t like being teased.”
He laughed and pinched her cheek. “Who said it’s teasing? Silly girl.”
Her mouth dropped open, her hands swatting at his hands. “What?”
He snickered, pushing himself out of his chair. “Joking. Go get ready, we leave in 10.”
——————
(Name) walked out of her room in a pair of jeans and tshirt. Feitan had just put on the coat he always wore, waiting by the door for her.
“Take forever to get dressed,” he grumbled. She folded her arms over her chest, giving him a pout.
“Well I didn’t know if I wanted to wear jeans or a skirt. But it’s cold today, so I chose jeans.”
Feitan raised an eyebrow. “Could just wear my coat if cold.”
“Fei, you coat would NOT fit me.”
He shrugged. “Steal you jacket.”
“Don’t steal on my behalf, Fei. We don’t need a repeat of the McDonald’s incident.”
“I thought it was a success.”
“You threw me out of a window!”
“Too slow.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t respond fast enough at you throwing a burger in my face and screaming ‘RUN!’. I was banned from that location. They have a picture of our faces on the front window!!”
He rolled his eyes. “Baby.”
She let out a sigh and grabbed her purse. “Let’s go. I want to try and check out the market before it gets too crowded!”
The two left her apartment, Feitan following behind her. It had been a year since he’d last seen her, so he wanted to take in every detail of her appearance.
She wore a different pair of sneakers than she had before. He already knew this, she’d texted him whining about her old ones being too worn out to wear anymore, but it was different in person.
All the little differences in her appearance were noted in his mind. The little scratches on her legs, her hair a little longer/shorter than it had been before, and a change in her aura.
She knew nen now, her aura controlled around her instead of steadily leaking from her body. He felt… conflicted. He didn’t know if he should be proud of her progress or worried.
(Name) hadn’t told him what her nen ability was yet, and he wouldn’t ask. That was dangerous, sensitive information. He wouldn’t blame her for not wanting to tell him, he wouldn’t tell her his.
“Fei?”
He was pulled from his thoughts by (Name) waving a hand in front of his face.
“What?”
She gestured around them. “We’re here!”
The crowd was already huge, (Name) holding onto Feitan’s arm to keep from being trampled. People seemed to give Feitan a good amount of space due to his intimidating aura.
“Fei, what do you want to look at first? Oh my gosh!”
She didn’t let him answer, dragging him to a stall selling accessories and makeup. Feitan watched as she browsed the wares, her eyes settling on a silver bracelet.
It was simple, with a bunny charm hanging from it. Feitan could picture it on her wrist, of course she would be drawn to something so cute.
“Ma’am, how much is this?”
The woman behind the booth smiled, tilting the box containing the bracelet to the side so she could see.
“It’s 30,000 jenny!”
‘30,000!? That’s enough to pay for all my monthly bills…’
(Name) looked for a moment longer before sighing and walking to the next booth.
“I didn’t think everything would be so expensive…”
(Name) sulked on the side of the road, crouched down and poking at the dirt with a stick.
“Should’ve let me steal for you.”
Feitan leaned against the wall of a nearby building, watching her as people passed by.
“They’re small businesses, that wouldn’t be right.”
The man scoffed. “Some aren’t, like jewelry place. Obviously steals goods and spikes up the price.”
He could recognize it, as Chrollo did the same thing.
“Well… I don’t want to be the reason you steal, anyways.”
Feitan scowled. “Why you even care? I steal all the time. Easy.”
She poked her lip out in a pout. “I don’t care if you steal. I just don’t want to be the reason you get in trouble, or god forbid hurt.”
She glanced at him, smiling softly. “You’re important to me. I won’t tell you what to do with your life, I know you’re strong. Just… just…”
Feitan placed a hand on her head, rubbing it. His touch was rough, but (Name) leaned into it anyways.
“Sensitive. Fine, won’t steal for you.”
He helped her to her feet, leading her by the hand away from the market and to the department stores.
“Tourist trap. Let’s shop there instead.”
———————
“Fei.”
He looked up from browsing the lingerie section to see (Name), a few items of clothing over her shoulder.
“Can you come in the changing room in a minute to zip me up? I need a nice dress, and the only one in my size has a zipper.”
He stared at her for a moment.
“… sure?”
She sighed out in relief. “Thanks!”
He followed her and waited outside the dressing room as he listened to the sound of her clothes dropping onto the floor.
‘Does she enjoy getting me riled up?’
He folded his arms over his chest, only moving when he heard (Name) call for him through the cracked door.
(Name) stood in front of him, wearing a floor length lilac colored dress.
“Does it look okay? God I hope it fits…”
It took him a minute to answer, his gaze focused on her boobs squishing against soft fabric.
“Looks… good.”
“Thank you. The zipper is back here.”
She turned, revealing her bare back to him. Had she taken off her bra, or had she not worn one at all? He didn’t know and didn’t care.
‘Focus. Just zip her up.’
He stepped forward and ran his hand along her back, sending a shiver up her spine. Feitan smirked at her reaction, reaching out to pull the fabric together.
He began zipping her up, but at the middle of her back it stopped.
“Feitan? Is something wrong?”
He tsked, attempting to zip her up again to no avail. “Won’t zip.”
(Name) sighed, letting go of her dress. “Oh… I wonder if I…”
She sucked in, but Feitan shook his head. “Not stomach, this.”
He couldn’t help but grin when he reached up and cupped her chest, squeezing the soft flesh of her boobs.
Her reaction was delayed, the girl seemingly in disbelief. When she regained her composure, she smacked his hands away.
“Feitan, you perv! Why-“
He cut her off by wrapping his hands around her waist and pulling her flush against him.
“Shh. Overreacting.”
She squirmed in his grip, her face heating up. “Feitan, wh-“
He let her go suddenly, giving her an innocent look.
“Look.”
(Name) blinked, looking at herself in the mirror. From her position, she could see that her dress was now zipped up.
“Wait… how-“
“Squished them down so I could zip it up.”
(Name) covered her face. “Oh Fei, I’m sorry I assumed you were being a pervert. Thank yo-“
“Who said I wasn’t? Enjoyed every second.”
(Name) paused, her jaw dropping. He was looking at her with a smirk, leaning against the wall.
“You look good. Suits you.”
With that, he unzipped her so she could change back into her clothes and left.
——————
(Name) crossed her arms.
“Feitan. Why?”
He tilted his head. “Why not?”
Feitan held a set of lacy black lingerie. “Would look good on you.”
The girl pushed the lingerie away, glaring at the man. “Not funny, Fei. You know pink is my favorite color.”
He was a bit taken aback by her comment. Was that what had irritated her?
She joined him in browsing the lingerie section, picking up a few pairs of panties and bras.
“Should I get the ones with the bows or lace?”
She’d really flipped this on him, the man glad he had his coat to hide his blush behind.
“Don’t care.”
“You seemed to care earlier.”
Was she teasing him?
Feitan groaned, pointing to a random pair before storming off. He didn’t want to get a boner in the middle of a department store. He was already struggling with the memory of her breasts in his hands, he didn’t need to imagine her in different sets of lingerie.
“Feitan wait up!”
(Name) ran behind him, carrying her shopping bags in one arm and her purse in the other.
“You’re so fast. If you’re going to run off at least bring me with you.”
Feitan grabbed her shopping bags with one hand and her hand with the other.
“Shouldn’t tease me. Wouldn’t leave if didn’t.”
“To be fair you teased me first.”
He couldn’t argue with that, only glaring at her from the corner of his eye.
“… where next?”
She took a second to think before responding.
“How about some lunch? I’m starving!”
He rolled his eyes. “Not starving.”
She pouted. “But it feels like I am!”
A small smile pulled at his lips. God, she could be so cute sometimes.
“Alright. I pick.”
Feitan lead her to a random restaurant, allowing her to get them a table. He didn’t like talking, reserving his words for the Spiders.
And (Name).
They sat down, a waitress asking what drinks they wanted and leaving them to look over their menus.
“Mmm…”
(Name) scanned the menu, noting a few things she might like. As she mulled over her choice, she peeked over her menu to look at Feitan, only to have to hold back a giggle.
She knew he was short, however she couldn’t but snicker at the fact the menu covered him completely. His grip tightened, the man placing it on the table to glare at her.
“Why laugh?”
She put a hand to her mouth. “Just remembered a joke someone told me.”
Before he could question her further, the sound of her phone buzzing caused her to jump.
“Oh, maybe it’s my friend! He’s supposed to be here too…”
He watched her take her phone out, the smile on her face fading to a frown quickly. She sighed and typed out a response before stuffing her phone back into her purse.
“Who was that?”
A sigh left her lips. “Someone that’s coming to York New and wants to meet up with me.”
Something harsh bubbled up in Feitan’s chest. “Who?”
“A friend.”
He frowned. “Name?”
She tilted her head. “Do you really need to know?”
“Yes.”
(Name) tapped away at the table with her nails, staring at Feitan with her pretty (e/c) eyes.
“It’s Illumi, the assassin.”
Feitan’s head whipped around to give her an incredulous look, a scowl on his face.
“The creep that kidnapped you? Not going to see him, right?”
(Name) didn’t meet his eyes, playing with the hem of her sleeve.
“Well… he said it was important…”
“(Name).”
He was serious now, his eyebrows furrowed. “Don’t. What if he takes you away again? Hurts you?”
“He wouldn’t do that, I-“
“You don’t know that. He’s assassin. Good at tricking people. Smart.”
She folded her hands over her chest. “I’m not going to fall for something like that. I think he’s an okay guy, before I left he was really sweet to me…”
She had a soft look in her eyes, something that made Feitan seethe. He didn’t want anyone else to make her look like that.
“Sweet to you? What happened to make you leave, then?”
(Name) stayed silent, looking down.
“Something bad, huh?”
Feitan scoffed, running a hand through his dark locks.
“If he hurt you, I kill him for you. Just say the word.”
(Name) began to giggle, but stopped when she met his dark eyes.
He was being completely serious.
“Fei…”
She took his hand, the man stiffening. “You’re my sweet Fei, you know? I don’t want you hurting people because of me.”
Her sweet Fei. Him.
“Yours?”
“Of course.”
He let out a shaky breath, his hand trembling slightly. Feitan hated how happy being called hers made him, even if she only meant it in a friendly way.
“Excuse me.”
The two glance up to see the waitress standing there with their drinks. Her cheeks were a faint pink, with her eyes on their hands.
“Apologies, but I brought your drinks!”
She placed the drinks down, (Name) using her free hand to sip on it.
“You two look so cute by the way! Probably the cutest couple I’ve seen in a while!”
The waitress was gone before (Name) could correct her.
“This is the second time a waitress mistook me and a friend for being a couple.”
“Second?”
“Yeah, happened when Illumi took me out for dinner.”
His frown deepened. He’d taken her out for dinner? Like… as a date?
“Anything else happen?”
“Oh, um…”
‘I wonder how well he’d react to knowing I’ve basically been engaged to him by his parents…’
“Promise you won’t get mad?”
This took Feitan by surprise. What had happened to make he ask that?
“Try not to.”
She sighed. “Well… his parents KIND of want us to… get… married.”
The silence that followed her sentence was so thick that you could hear a pin drop from a mile away.
Feitan’s eyes went from surprised, to confused, to angry, until settling into an unnerving glare.
“Do you want to marry him?”
“Well… I’m not sure.”
Feitan blinked at her. “Not sure? You actually want to marry assassin?”
“No, I mean… I don’t know. He’s nice, or well… he was for the most part.”
“Barely know him.”
She sighed. “Yeah, you’re right. We hadn’t even gone on a date, but the butlers said he was like… madly in love with me or something. I don’t think it was true though, he’s gorgeous. I’m not sure how he’d fall in love with me.”
‘I know why.’
He looked her up and down. Feitan didn’t understand why she was so self conscious, she was gorgeous.
His eyes lingered on her lips again. Today, they were shiny, covered in that peach flavored lipgloss she liked so much. The first time she bought it, she couldn’t stop talking about how soft it made her lips feel.
“Fei? The foods here.”
He blinked, dragging his eyes from her lips to the waitress who sat down their food in front of them.
——————
(Name) walked along the city with Feitan right behind her. You’d think from the appearance of Feitan alone, no one would dare to approach them.
Sadly, some people are stupid.
“Hey, broad.”
(Name) continued walking, not thinking the rude comment was aimed at her.
“Hey, I’m talking to you bitch!”
(Name) felt someone put a hand on her shoulder, her hand immediately grabbing Feitan’s and squeezing it.
With a look, he knew what she was trying to say.
‘Stay calm.’
But it was hard when some random thug was grabbing her like he knew her.
“My apologies, is there something you need, sir?”
The man laughed. “Yeah, I need you to come back to my place for a fun time.”
She frowned. “Sorry, but no thanks. I’m out on a date with my husband.”
‘Husband?’
Feitan was too shocked to breath, his face going red.
The man looked to Feitan, snickering. “This your husband? Little shrimpy wouldn’t be able to do a thing if I decided to take you all for myself.”
The girl pushed his hand off of her, (Name)’s once calm face twisting into one of anger. “Don’t talk about him like that. We’ll be leaving now.”
She pulled Feitan behind her, the man grabbing her again soon after.
“Where the FUCK do you think you’re going, bitch? I said you’re coming with-“
Before Feitan could unsheathe his word to sever his arm, (Name) turned and kicked the man between the legs so hard that even Feitan hissed out in pain.
“Come on Fei. Let’s go.”
She kicked the man in the stomach for good measure before grabbing Feitan’s hand again and continuing in the opposite direction of the man.
Once they were far enough away, (Name) let out a sigh before collapsing. Feitan caught her, picking her up and sitting her down at a nearby bench.
“That was terrifying. You alright Fei?”
She was shaking, her hands trembling as they cupped his cheeks.
“I’m fine… you look like you’ll throw up.”
“God, maybe. Did you see how big that guy was?”
She sighed and leaned against Feitan’s shoulder. “He was a real asshole. I was okay until he insulted you. Pissed me off…”
Feitan glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
‘She… did she do that for my sake?’
“Don’t worry. Weakling’s words don’t bother me.”
She sighed in relief. “Good.”
“But…”
Feitan grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him.
“Called me husband. Don’t remember consummating any marriage.”
He grinned down at her, his eyes narrowing. “Jog my memory?”
She tilted her head. “Fei, I was lying. We’re not actually married.”
She smiled. “Unless you want to be.”
Feitan let her go, turning away quickly. “Wanna marry me Fei? Don’t you loooove me?”
“Shut up.”
“Come onnnn~ the chapels only a block away!”
He stood up and began walking away.
“Hey, wait! I’m sorry for teasing you, slow down!”
Feitan and (Name) sipped on boba as they strolled through town, stopping at a store every once and a while before (Name) suddenly stopped to check her phone.
“Oh! My friends want to meet up! Sorry Fei, but I gotta go!”
He tilted his head. “I go with you?”
“No, sorry you can’t. I don’t want them to potentially recognize you and get you arrested.”
He huffed. She wasn’t wrong to worry, but he wanted to stay by her side just a little longer.
(Name) gave him a quick hug before jogging off to where she was supposed to meet her friends. As she did, he got a text on his phone from Chrollo.
Boss: we need you at the hideout, Feitan. You can bring your woman if you want.
Feitan groaned. When were they going to stop teasing him over that?
Feitan: be there soon, she left to meet friends
The short man watched (Name) until she was out of sight, then turned to go in the opposite direction.
He was already starting to miss her, but bringing the peach lipgloss he’d snatched from her purse to his tongue to taste, he relaxed.
‘So that’s what her lips taste like…’
———————
“Leorio, Gon, Killua!”
The three boys looked up to see (Name) approaching, the girl waving.
“(Name), it’s been forever!”
Leorio jumped out of his seat and pulled her into a hug. Killua frowned from his seat.
“You were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago.”
(Name) broke away from the hug to plop down into a chair next to the boy. “Sorry, I was with a friend.”
“Friend? Who?”
“The grumpy one.”
They all nodded in understand.
‘She still hasn’t mentioned him by name. Weird.’
“So, is Kurapika coming?”
The three glanced between each other.
“Ah, is he not answering your calls either?” (Name) asked, a look of concern on her face.
They shook their heads. “Not even a text back.”
They all sighed together.
“Well, we just ordered lunch, do you want me to call the waiter?”
“No, it’s fine, I already ate!”
The group talked for a bit, the other three eating their lunch before they went back to the place the boys were staying.
“Greed island? What’s that?”
Leorio and (Name) sat next to each other, the girl holding a pillow to her chest.
“A legendary game.
“We’re trying to get a copy at the auction.”
Leorio hummed. “But why a game?”
“I think this game holds a clue to finding my dad.”
“Huh? The game holds a clue to finding your dad?”
(Name) tuned out of the conversation, scrolling through her phone. Gon and Killua had already told her everything before.
She stared at the message Illumi has sent her as a reply.
Illumi: I will text you a date and time. Be safe.
She reacted to the message with a thumbs up as a response.
(Name) watched the boys look up different terms for auctions, giggling to herself when Leorio got an idea.
——————
“Come on down, let’s have some conditional auctioning fun!”
(Name) stood beside Killua as Gon sat at a table, holding his arm out. They had decided to have Gon arm wrestle people in an attempt to make money.
“Here’s what’s up for bid! A Diamond worth three million. Comes with appraisal of the store where I just bought it! Arm wrestling will decide the winning bid. The first person to beat this boy wins the Diamond! You must pay a 10,000 Jenny entry fee!”
A crowd had gathered as Leorio yelled out the conditions for the auction. (Name) and Killua gave each other a look as people lined up to try and win the Diamond.
They watched as Gon arm wrestled a man, his fake groaning almost comical.
“He’s really bad at lying.” (Name) whispered to Killua. The white haired boy snickered.
“Yeah, he’s way too honest.”
Hours passed by with little luck for Gon’s challengers. (Name) groaned, leaning against the wall.
“How long are we gonna go at this?”
It’s was (Name)’s turn to hold the Diamond now. Killua shrugged. “Until Leorio lets us stop.”
“Okay, next person!”
A woman appeared from the crowd, (Name)’s eyes widening at the sight. She held out the money, Leorio smiling.
“Well, we have our first female challenger!”
The crowd cheered for her, but (Name) was silent.
‘Is that… Shizuku?’
She handed Killua the Diamond. “I’ve got to go, sorry!”
(Name) left as Killua yelled after her, chasing a familiar aura.
“Feitan!”
The man was waiting with one of the spiders, Franklin. He turned, his eyes widening when the girl appeared in front of him.
“(Name)? Why out so late at night?”
She waved her hand. “Oh, I was just in the area with a friend when I sensed your aura.”
He frowned, leaning forward and sniffing her. “Smell like cologne. Your friend a man?”
(Name) pursed her lips. “You shouldn’t sniff people, Fei. It’s creepy.”
Franklin snickered as Feitan turned red, seemingly embarrassed.
‘Creepy? She thinks I’m creepy?’
“Tch, answer my question. Stupid.”
“Yeah, they’re all men actually. I don’t really have any girl friends. Oh, I guess besides Pakunoda.”
Feitan stared at her. “… do you like any of these friends?”
She raised an eyebrow. “Why does that matter?”
“Answer.”
(Name) rolled her eyes. “Well, maybe one. He’s a pretty blonde. Very cute.”
“Name? Occupation? Address?”
“Fei!”
She laughed, but again, stopped when she noticed he wasn’t.
“Oh, you’re being serious.”
They stared at each other, the silence only being broken when Franklin spoke.
“Well?”
(Name) blinked, turning to see Shizuku walking towards them.
“I lost. He’s strong.”
(Name) internally praised her friend, a small smile on her lips.
“That little boy?”
Shizuku frowned, looking at (Name). “Weren’t you over there a moment ago?”
The two men immediately turned to look at the girl, her eyes widening. “Oh, um. Yes I was. I was going to challenge him, but after seeing so many people lose I gave up haha.”
Shizuku tilted her head. “Weren’t you holding the Diamond?”
(Name) froze. She wasn’t sure why, but it didn’t feel safe for them to know her friends. Although she trusted Feitan, she knew he was a thief capable of murder. Especially if he got jealous.
“Oh, yeah. I wanted to check it’s authenticity so they allowed me to look.”
Shizuku hummed. “Makes sense.”
Feitan watched her from the corner of his eye. She wasn’t telling the complete truth.
‘No matter. Get it out of her later.’
“I sort of wanted that Diamond.”
“You should have used your right hand.” Franklin put a hand on her head.
Feitan nodded. “Yes, why didn’t you use stronger hand?”
“Oh, right… he extended his right hand, so I did the same. I’d like to challenge him again.”
Feitan sighed. “You can’t, no time. We have our job.”
“Yes. Besides, buying and bidding would be wrong. We’re thieves.”
Feitan glanced at (Name). “If we want something, we take it.”
——————
“No.”
They had returned to the Phantom Troupes hideout, Chrollo having just finished exposing the plan.
“Why not? You know I worry about you. I can-“
“You’re not coming.”
The two had begun arguing once Chrollo suggested (Name) tag along to see the spiders in action.
“Why? Can you give me any good reasons?”
“You’re weak. Don’t even know your nen.”
“I do! My nen is actually super useful I’ll have you know!”
This caught the rest of the Phantom Troupes attention.
“Useful? Can you explain how?”
Chrollo had stood up from his seat and began approaching her. She nodded, looking around the room.
“Does anyone have anything sharp I can borrow?”
They regarded her with wary eyes.
“I’m not going to try anything stupid, there’s like… at least 10 of you here. I’m not strong enough to take you out with a single sharp object.”
Chrollo handed her a knife, much to Feitan’s annoyance.
“What are you-“
(Name) held the knife in the air and stabbed it into her own arm, sinking through into the other side.
“(NAME)!”
Feitan rushed forward, his eyes wide with panic. There was so much blood pooling onto the floor, all of it hers.
She stumbled a bit, gritting her teeth as tears fell from her eyes. “Shit, this does not get any easier with time. Hang on Fei, just wait a minute.”
Chrollo watched with great interest as she pulled the knife out and let it drop to the floor with a clang.
“Oh wow, now this is a show.” Hisoka purred from his seat. Feitan shot him a deadly look, barely able to hold himself back from grabbing (Name) and rushing her to the nearest hospital.
He needed to trust her, but god was it hard when the entire room smelled like her blood.
(Name) closed her eyes in concentration, raising her arm up shakily to her lips, where she planted a kiss on the wound.
To everyone’s shock, the stab wound began to heal instantly, stitching itself back together as she sighed in relief.
“You’re a healer. Interesting…”
Feitan was by her side before she could blink, grabbing her arm and flipping it just to see it had been completely healed.
“Told you I’m useful.”
She smiled at him, proud of herself. He pulled her closer to him, squeezing her tight.
“Scared me, never do that again.”
She patted his back before pulling back and standing in front of Chrollo.
“So, yeah. That’s how my nen works. Kind of.”
He held his hand out for hers, inspecting her arm. “I see… not a scar in sight. You can’t even tell you’d just stabbed yourself.”
He dropped her arm and grinned. “Well, I think it would be a great idea for you to accompany them tonight. That’s an order, Feitan.”
The man didn’t respond, only staring down at the pool of blood with worried eyes.
For a man so used to blood, the sight of hers unnerved him more than he cared to admit.
——————
(Name) sat in the hot air balloon, pouting. She’d been ordered by Feitan to guard it, saying a healer wouldn’t be needed inside.
She didn’t really mind all that much. After all, she assumed they would be stealing or killing someone.
She didn’t want to see Feitan kill.
Bored, (Name) scrolled through her contacts and clicked on Kurapika’s name.
‘Might as well try again. What harm can it do?’
She called him, half expecting him to not pick up.
“(Name)?”
(Name) jumped at the sound of his voice. “Kurapika? You picked up! Oh my gosh I’ve missed you so much.”
Her words caused the Kurta to blush, Melody smiling beside him.
“I’ve… missed you too. Are you doing well?”
“Yeah, so are the others. Have you been remembering to eat?”
The man sighed. “Yes. It’s hard not to when you text me everyday during meal times.”
“Hehe, sorry. I just worry about my sweet boy.”
His face turned a dark red. Did she say HER sweet boy?
“I-I-I apologize for worrying you.”
She sighed. “Don’t. It’s fine. Anyways…”
(Name) leaned against the basket of the air balloon, using Feitan’s coat as a blanket.
“When will I get to see you again? I miss your pretty face.”
Melody giggled next to him.
‘He’s talking to someone he loves. How cute.’
“As soon as my job allows it. I promise.”
She giggled. “I’ll hold you to it.”
Kurapika groaned when he heard the sound of his boss beeping in.
“Sorry, I have to go. Boss is calling.”
“Oh, that’s alright. Be safe, love you!”
Kurapika froze, his jaw dropping. Before he could respond, he accidentally ended the call.
“Shit- Hello, Boss.”
The girl giggled. ‘I bet that made him blush. What a cutie.’
The girl sighed. They said the job might take a while, so she rested her head against the basket of the air balloon.
(Name) soon fell asleep, cuddled up under Feitan’s coat.
——————
“Ouch!”
(Name) woke up to being flicked on the forehead.
“Fell asleep during job, stupid girl.”
Feitan hovered over her, the other spiders climbing into the basket.
“Oh, Fei, you’re back.”
She rubbed her eyes, yawning. The man patted her head. “Tired?”
“A little.”
He smacked the top of her head, Shalnark snickering in the corner. Feitan had been so gentle with her, it was amusing.
“Well wake up. Job not over.”
She whined. “So mean…”
Feitan grabbed his coat from her and pulled it over his shirtless form. “Hey, I’m cold!”
(Name) pouted up at him, crossing her arms over her chest.
He huffed. “Baby. Should have brought jacket.”
He ended up dropping the jacket of his tuxedo into her lap. “Use this.”
Feitan inhaled the lingering smell of her scent on his jacket, a small smile on his face.
“Thank you, Fei.”
He looked down at the girl to see her cuddled up under his jacket, smiling up at him.
“This is much better.”
It was hard to control himself, but he did. He didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of the other Troupe members by pouncing on her like a wild animal.
“Tch.”
Shalnark plopped down beside you. “Hey, share. I don’t have any sleeves.”
He pulled a bit of the jacket towards him, getting awfully close to (Name).
Because he didn’t want to make a scene, Feitan stayed quiet.
But one look at his eyes would tell you he was beyond furious. He knew Shalnark didn’t mind the cold.
‘Bastard. Touching what’s mine.’
(Name) moved closer to Shalnark. “You’re cold? You’re so warm!”
She leaned against his shoulder, smiling up at him.
“Oh. You’re pretty too.”
“Pretty?”
Feitan sat next to (Name) and pulled her towards him with more force than he had meant, the girl nearly falling across his lap.
“Hey, my blanket!”
Shalnark whined and attempted to join (Name) again, but stopped when Feitan glared up at him.
‘Aww, play time is over.’
The blonde rolled his eyes and leaned back.
But a part of him felt weirdly… warm.
‘Pretty, huh?’
———————
(Name) quickly fell asleep again, occasionally nuzzling against Feitan’s shoulder. It was quite the sight, the other spiders stealing glances at the pair.
Uvogin had just ended his call with Chrollo.
“She’s really asleep, huh? Must trust us an awful lot.”
Uvogin let out a laugh, instantly causing the girl to shoot awake.
“Mom I’m awake-“
Instead of her mother shaking her awake, she was surrounded by the band of thieves she’d been accompanying.
Her face instantly heated up, and it didn’t help that Uvogin and Shalnark were laughing at her.
“I guess Uvogin is a mom now!”
Nobunaga snickered, Uvogin clapping him on the back.
The girl hid her face in Feitan’s jacket. The short man held back a laugh himself, patting her shoulder.
Soon after they landed to air balloon, Feitan pulling a ski mask over her head.
“H-hey! What-“
“Hides your identity. Use In.”
(Name) huffed, using In as he helped her out of the basket. “Fine…”
They stood on a cliff, looking over a large crowd of people in suits. “What, are they the mafia or something?”
She had been joking, but no one laughed.
“Yeah.”
“Fei. You pissed off the mafia?”
“Not just me.”
She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Uh huh.”
“COME DOWN HERE!”
“WE’LL EVEN LET YOU DECIDE WHETHER YOU’LL BE DROWNED OR BURIED!”
Shalnark laughed. “There’s a whole crowd…”
“I don’t have to suck them up, do I?”
“No, they don’t matter.”
(Name) looked at them incredulously, though it was hard to convey with her face concealed.
“Hey!”
They all looked to Uvogin who stepped forward. “Stay out of this. I’ll handle it…”
He slid down the cliff, the mafia raising their guns. Feitan turned (Name) around. “Don’t wanna watch.”
(Name) could hear the sound of flesh being ripped apart and bones cracking, and for once she didn’t question Feitan. She had seen Uvogin eat a live chicken in front of her, she knew what he was capable of.
“His philosophy is to be the strongest of them all. An ordinary gun wouldn’t even scratch him.”
“Physically, he’s the strongest.”
“It’s like a gorilla stomping on ants.”
(Name) pouted, glancing at Feitan.
“Oh? More of them!” Nobunaga said.
“They came all the way here, merely to be killed.” Franklin stated. (Name) leaned against Feitan, the man holding her up with ease.
“Just watching isn’t fun, let’s play cards.”
(Name) perked up. “Ooo, sounds fun!”
The group sat in a circle, Feitan standing watch. As the group played, he’d steal glances at (Name). He couldn’t see her face, but he could practically sense her hesitation.
“Uvo will be okay, right?”
(Name) placed another card down, a frown on her face.
“Are you kidding? He’s the strongest in the troupe, physically.”
She sighed. “I know, I heard earlier. Even so…”
Shalnarks eyes softened slightly. “He’s tough. You don’t need to worry.”
Feitan patted her head. “Like we said earlier, gorilla stomping on ants.”
———————
Some nen users began fighting him, Uvogin not allowing his fellow Troupe members to join the fight.
From the sound of it, (Name) didn’t think he’d need their help.
“11.”
(Name) set down another card, glancing at Feitan again. “Fei, how’s the fight going?”
“Just ate someone’s head.”
(Name) shivered. “Like… a persons head?”
“That’s what I said.”
“Can’t be good for his stomach.”
Shalnark chuckled. “That’s what you’re worried about?”
“Well. He did eat my chickens alive without getting salmonella so…”
“Don’t try to figure her out. Strange girl.” Feitan stated, a smile on his lips.
They continued playing, until all of a sudden Shalnark covered his ears.
They all followed suit, (Name) quickly doing the same.
An ear splitting roar echoed through the desert, potentially deafening anyone that hasn’t covered their ears in time.
(Name) felt Feitan tap her shoulder a moment later, signaling it was over.
“You idiot! Give us a warning first!” Franklin yelled.
“What if our eardrums had burst?”
“Sorry, sorry. But that would’ve given my plan away. Besides, you guys had plenty of time to cover your ears before the sound reached you.”
“That’s true.” Machi said.
(Name) peeked over the edge, Feitan holding onto the back of her shirt.
“Are you alright, Uvo?”
He grinned up at her. “Better now that I got a pretty lady worrying over me.”
“Yeah, he’s fine.” (Name) said, Feitan pulling her back up. “Hey, you’re going to rip my shirt!”
“Better than you falling and busting your skull open.”
(Name) brushed the dirt off of her pants, looking over the group. “I wish I would have brought some snacks. Then we could of had a picnic.”
Feitan smacked a hand over his forehead as Shizuku nodded. “Should have. I’m hungry.”
“Shizuku! Would you suck the poison and leeches from my body? Your vacuum will do the trick.”
She finished picking up the cards before answering. “Blinky can suck out poison, but nothing alive.”
“What? Then what am I supposed to do?”
Shalnark leaped down, (Name) blinking in surprise. He’d landed over 30 feet below them without any issue.
“Let me see.”
Shalnark picked up the leech and inspected it. (Name) squeaked and hid behind Feitan.
“This is a spotted leech… it takes one day to migrate to the bladder, before laying its eggs and dying.”
“So?”
“The eggs will hatch shortly after, exciting through your urinary tract. It will cause enough pain to kill you.”
“Hey, don’t joke around…”
“However, they require a specific ammonia level to hatch. If there isn’t enough, the eggs don’t hatch, and can be excreted harmlessly. So until this time tomorrow, you should drink pee non-stop and be sure to urinate frequently!”
He squished the leech, giving Uvogin a smile.
“Don’t scare me like that… Shizuku, can you take care of the poison?”
“Yes!”
“Someone go to the city and get lots of beer.”
Franklin nodded. “I’ll go.”
“Make sure they’re ice-cold!”
“Don’t get too greedy!”
Shizuku joined the two, Blinky out and ready to work.
“Okay, get that poison out of me.”
The sound of chains wrapping around something caused the three to pause.
When they turned to see what was going on, they saw Uvogin covered in chains wrapping around his body.
He was launched into the air with a yell, quickly disappearing from sight.
Feitan grabbed (Name), throwing her over his shoulder as he jumped down.
She held on, trusting him enough to not scream.
“Did you see that?” Shalnark asked.
“Yeah.”
“Those chains came out of nowhere to wrap around his body.” Shizuku said.
“Is it a new shadow beast? Uvo can’t move because of the tranquilizer and the leeches still inside him.” Nobunaga stated plainly.
“Then that’s that… let’s go and save him.”
Feitan sighed while patting (Name)’s butt. “Good grief. He’s so much trouble.”
“Hey!”
She wiggled out of his grasp, the man holding her by the waist as she pouted down at him.
“I have a trace for now. I used In to conceal the thread, so as long as they don’t use Gyo to spot the needle, I can follow them anywhere.”
Machi held an invisible thread, (Name) quickly suing Gyo to spot it.
“Okay, let’s find them before they notice it.”
“This is our chance to finish the remaining Shadow Beasts.”
(Name) furrowed her eyebrows.
‘That aura… felt familiar.’
——————
A problem quickly arose when the group found a car to steal.
“Not enough seats.”
Feitan glanced between (Name) and the car, sighing.
“I can just stay behind.”
“No, dangerous.”
“Then I can ride in the tru- OW!”
He flicked her forehead. “No. Dumb ass. Hurt yourself.”
“Just have her sit in your lap. She’s your woman, isn’t she?”
Feitan shot Nobunaga a look, but couldn’t deny his statement.
“Wouldn’t it make more sense for Feitan to sit in my lap? He’s lighter than-“
Feitan grabbed her wrist and dragged her towards the car, pulling her to sit in his lap. She squeaked, struggling against his iron grip.
“Stay still.”
(Name) whined and wiggled a bit more, until she felt Feitan’s fingers dig into the soft flesh of her thighs. She glanced back at him to see his face hidden behind his coat.
“Face forward, stay still.”
With not many options, (Name) decided to listen.

♥━━━━━━━━━━━♡━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
You're kind of pretty like this, even when stained in blood. It's hilarious how he has to focus on the way your collarbone looks, delicate necklace swinging from your neck while you push down on his shoulder. You're talking. He can't hear.
How did he get here?
Well, poor choice in women, first and foremost. It's no secret that he's a lover with a body count guessed like lottery numbers by everyone who knows him even just a little. He's blunt. He swears a lot, and he's covered in piercings and ink. He plays his video games and music too loud, the only interaction you yourself really know being your weekly requests for him to turn it down, which is always responded by a smirk and a 'what you wanna do about it, princess?'.
He's even opened the door shirtless before, boner still clearly visible when you'd disturbed his private time.
He thinks you're a walking joke, a punchline waiting to happen, and you're aware of this. He never takes you seriously, in no way, shape, or form. But you also can't just let him die on the ground like this, not when it's technically not even his fault.
Wait, how did we end up here?
Oh right, sex with a whore.
Now, Jungkook fucks around. He doesn't make a secret of it, not by a long shot, but there's still rather traditional values he still holds highly- one of them being faithfulness. Never even once had the girl even mentioned a potential partner, let alone a fiance who ended up finding her with Jungkook's cock down her throat in the bedroom. He scoffs to himself. The blowjob wasn't even worth the rabid attacks that followed.
He'd met her online- on a dating app he has to basically hook up whenever he's up for it, and when she told him she lived in the same apartment building, he'd agreed to meet up. Who could've thought that she was cheating on her soon to be husband with him? Or, at the very least, who could've thought she'd be so fucking stupid in hiding it, not even remembering when the guy would come home from work?
Vampires are violent creatures.
He knows it first hand from himself how easy they're riled up. Aggression is a key part of every vampire's character- a curse, so to say, making them too dangerous to ever really fit in. It's why apartment complexes like these have been funded by the government; places for them to live amongst one another, to keep the rest of humanity safe.
Which makes it even more ridiculous that you're helping him right now.
You're painfully human, hands so warm they feel almost hot, no red found in your eyes. You look like a rabbit, waiting to become the wolf's next meal.
And you basically chose to live in a whole zoo full of starving beasts, ready to snatch a taste.
He can't deny the appeal you have. He usually doesn't go for something like you- typically chooses older girls, dominant one's or those who seem like they wanna prove something. They do all the work, while he can just enjoy the show. It's easy, simple, and a quick and comfortable way to quench his thirst. Though vampire blood tastes rather stale, he takes it without complaint.
Human blood is taboo, after all, if it's not from a blood bank.
"Over here!" You call out, and he can barely really hear it, sense of hearing dulled out to the max almost. You explain something to the paramedics who instantly work on him, and he finally let's himself slip into unconsciousness at that, now that he's in professional hands.
And he swears, he's gonna quit that online dating shit for a while after this.

Thank you so much for being so kind and replying to my ask! I think I understand it a little better now and I do agree with some of it. There were really sweet moments between them that made me happy but OH how it hurt to see buck just standing outside the restaurant. Yeah he freaked out a little but even lou said it wasn't ok of tommy and he wouldn't have done that. His defenders should really look into that lol judging from his interviews, he is a buddie endgame shipper and I love that
I'm kinda used to people blaming everything on buck but it still sucks. If he "shoved tommy back in the closet", they also have to acknowledge the comment tommy made when eddie was there...thank goodness he was so oblivious
But I do blame the writers a little bit for making tommy seem so...distant? Mysterious? There's potential because he has a connection to their world but we don't know nearly enough about him. We know chim, hen and bobby were good with him when he left all those years ago but now? Show us!!
Most of all, I hope they are not "done" with buck's storyline because he deserves more. He was barely a side character for the remaining episodes and that made me really sad. Oliver looks happier again though, so maybe there's hope?
No problem ofc like as long as you’re respectful to me I’ll always give that back
UGHH YESSS ABT THE COMMENT AT THE DATE LIKE IF TOMMY WAS IN FACT OUT AND BUCK WAS PUSHING HIM IN THE CLOSET AS THEY CLAIM THEN TOMMYS LINE WOULD IN FACT BE OUTING HIM
Like personally I do take it as dig meant for buck only to understand - which brings its own fucking rage to me ngl but these toxic fans’ interpretation is somehow even worse for their fav
Me personally sorry but I’m kinda like just get rid of tommy atp and you know that but I totally get how you feel and would be disappointed in your place too
Also I totally agree and definitely hope that they really delve into and develop Buck’s bi arc further
I think they honestly kinda fumbled last season because of the shorter season and how much shit they tried to fit like I was saying this before but s8 should’ve been treated like s1/s2 where like you have some character building and like personal shit and then keep the rest fairly uncomplicated with like a few big things here and there and a strong sense of found family in it and hitting that balance of not overloading yourself while also keeping things interesting
Instead we kinda had boom big thing boom big thing boom here is an even more complicated big thing boom another big thing and it all felt very frazzled and all over the place and also really fragmented
And cos of all these big things you end up not able to give any one big thing the levity or development or the depth it can have
Leading to a mess of having buck pushed straight to the sidelines story wise after two eps of his bi arc then bobby having shit from Minnesota but also cartel and also house getting burnt down but also him being suicidal but also him nearly dying and us getting no scenes from the team at his bedside and then you have Eddie and his doppelgänger mess and chimney and his enciphillitus and it’s just all gives you a little bit of an overload without ever getting the pay off or the development
Like I love the show and love the writing for the most part but I gotta say s8 had a strong start that I thought it’d battle for my fav season but then it just started slipping when you could feel how limited in eps they were and also the writing style of not planning ahead for a lot of things
Idk if I explained any of that clearly 😭😭

hey I had a request if that's okay
Could you do something about hobie being jealous of a guy who keep talking to their gf ( the reader ofc)? I feel like hobie would not be the type of guy who would be really jealous because he would know that at the end of the day it's him that gets to kiss you, but I still want to see what he would be like if he was.
English is not my first language, so sorry if there are spelling mistakes
Oooof Listen, this got me thinking on how exactly could Hobie be while jealous! Let’s goooo! I feel this would fit better as headcanons.
The Dopest Trip — Hobie x Reader
Title based off Pretty Fly (for a White Guy) by The Offspring.
Warnings: perhaps Hobie being a little bit too cruel.
Hobie isn’t by any means someone who gets jealous easily.
He’s confident, and he always speaks his mind.
And you’ve known each other for as long as you can remember, and having dating for a while now, the both of you always voiced your thoughts to each other.
Hobie could look at multiple guys try to flirt with you, and because he knew you, and he trusted you, he never felt jealous.
In fact, he’d sit back and watch how you epically rejected these guys, sometimes even scared them away by saying something completely weird and wild. He had fun seeing you behave like the absolute weirdest person to scare people off. Very rarely you’d say “oh I have a boyfriend” because the two of you knew that never worked.
Guys never gave a shit whether someone was single or taken, so saying you had a boyfriend was not a solution to get them off your back. So you turned into acting like a total freak to scare them away.
However there was this one specific guy who didn’t seem to get scared off by your wild comments and crazy acting.
This guy in particular pissed Hobie off.
Not because he was good looking, but he seemed determined to get into your pants. Even when you said the most fucked up shit, he wasn’t easily scared away. This guy simply pissed Hobie off because he was always flying around you like some annoying fly.
During a gig, — one in which Hobie wasn’t up on stage playing —, you were happily jumping and dancing. Taking a few pictures, Hobie towered behind you, mostly watching over you so you didn’t get pushed around, or accidentally being pushed into the mosh pit, or someone tried to grope you.
As one of the songs ended, you turned to Hobie and told him you were thirsty.
“I’ll go get us some water, babe,” He said into your ear as the music was still very loud.
In the three minutes he was away getting to bottles of water, he saw That Guy approaching you. His face flinched and turned sour as this guy was awfully close to you, clearly trying to touch you, while everything in your body language said: “don’t”
While normally he’d never interfere and just watch you deal with them on your own, this time Hobie would go up there and play the Boyfriend card.
Hobie walked up to you, kissed the top of your head while his eyes glared at the other guy. “Got your water, babe,” He said handing you the bottle. “Who’s this?” He asked in a sassy voice.
“Who—?” the guy asked. “Babe? You have a boyfriend?” He said looking up at Hobie as Hobie stood way taller than the other guy. “You never said you had a boyfriend!”
“She doesn’t owe you any explanations,” Hobie intervened before you could do it.
“Let’s go, Hobes, he’s not worth it…” You hissed trying to get away from the guy.
“You little bitch, I’ve been trying to get your attention this whole time, you telling me you had a boyfriend would’ve been good from the start!”
“What did you say?” Hobie asked.
“I have told you every single time you talk to me, that I am not interested and I do not want to hang out with you. If you can’t respect my own boundaries, I don’t think you’d respect me having a boyfriend!” You snapped.
Hobie walked up to the guy and grabbed him by the shirt as he pushed him against the closest door. While the guy was buffer —although shorter— than Hobie, Hobie was taller and simply stronger. His super human strength was perfectly hidden behind his lanky body. And as the guy tried to push him off, the horror began to sink in as he realised Hobie was actually stronger than him.
“You’re pathetic,” He growled, “either you are stupid enough to not understand the meaning of ‘not interested’, or you’re stupid enough to think that insisting will make girls like you. Got breaking news for you, mate; girls will not like you if you don’t take seriously what they say. That includes respecting their decisions and their rejection. So either man up, and learn to listen, or keep behaving like the pathetic street dog you are, and keep being rejected,”
“Fuck off, you wanker!”
Hobie let out a deep laugh before smashing the guy against the wall. “I’m not joking around here, you arse,” Hobie growled. “You do not go around harassing women, especially my girlfriend. Second, you do not call her a bitch, next time you do, I’m gonna make sure you regret every single second of your pathetic little life,” His eyes got colder and threatening, his grip tight, with his fists close to the guy’s face. “Third, if I see your stupid face anywhere near her, or if I see you making anyone uncomfortable, I’m also going to make you regret being born, do you understand me?”
The guy now scared with Hobie looked at him with wide eyes and nodded.
“Repeat what I just said,”
“I-I will stay away from your girlfriend…”
“What else?”
“Nor harassing women”
“Or what?”
“You’re gonna kick my ass,”
“Good,” Hobie hissed and let go of the guy.
As he turned around, he walked up to you, wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you close. He pressed a kiss on your forehead as he glared at the guy, staring at him with such pettiness, the guy felt intimidated by Hobie.
“If that guy shows up his face around you again, tell me right away,” Hobie whispered as he gently grabbed you by the shoulders. “Are you okay?”
“I am. What happened?”
“Scared the living shit out of’im” Hobie said nonchalantly. “Told him if I saw him around you, he was gonna regret it…”
“Thank you, Hobie…”
“Anything for my girlie” He purred as he cupped your face and pulled you closer, kissing you sweetly.

the quest | ksj
your boyfriend's friends are a great help on your quest for a new hobby, leaving him feeling... irked?
description/tags: kim seokjin / established relationship / angst + a little fluff (the angst slowly builds until it's basically hurt/comfort) / feat. the rest of bts / jealous boyfriend jin / pov switches from yn to jin / no trigger warnings i'd say pg-13 / request from this anon! i hope you like it, sorry it's taken me so long, i wasn't feeling the best. i don't know if that feeling had an impact on the fic - i felt such an urge to rewrite the whole thing and start from scratch because i read it over so many times! that'll just take much longer so.. i might rewrite this sometime in the future or upload a shorter version since it ended up being my longest work ever???
wc: ~8k words
Statistics and relationship coaches claim that every introvert needs an extroverted partner. The extrovert to ‘bring the introvert out of their shell and live a little’ and the introvert to show the extrovert the value of rest and healing in solitude.
But no one who believed any of that crap had met you and Seokjin. You and Jin fit together like the pieces of the puzzles you two loved to solve together on the weekends.
The two of you were too alike: introverted souls with charming social skills and a small group of friends who ultimately loved staying at home and indulging in your stress-relieving hobbies in much-needed peace and quiet. Or so it seemed.
Early on in your relationship, Jin had boasted about his gaming skills to no end, so his irregular, prolonged gaming sessions came as no surprise to you, but considering this, what had been so surprising was the number of friends and hobbies he actually had.
Sure, you had your fair share of the same as well, but Jin did so much more than he ever let on: snowboarding, tennis, fishing, golf, and cooking, to name a few, and he carried them out with friends of all ages, from grandfathers in their sixties who he loved cooking with, to careermen in their thirties he played golf with on the weekends. When he finally invited you to see him in action, you quickly found out that it was as attractive and inspiring as it was surprising…
“All this because I sweat when I play tennis?” he said when his breathing finally returned to normal following his high, still lying naked on the living room couch after he invited you to watch him play.
“Yes… just like you’re sweating now,” you murmured, sitting up from your position between his legs and admiring Jin’s glistening, flushed skin as you grazed his chest and traced the muscles he loved to hide. “I don’t think I ever got the whole ‘jock’ thing being attractive, but it was hot… seeing you all sporty. I wish I could be like that... I want to be. I need more hobbies.”
“What do you mean?” Jin says, sitting up. “You love to read. Everywhere I turn, I see books - if there hadn't been a bed in your old apartment, I’d have thought it was a library, and now my - our - apartment is beginning to look like one.”
“I’m in the worst reading slump of my entire life. I need to do something different. More hobbies. More friends. The girls are great, but… seeing you, I feel as though I want… more. I want to be a better version of myself - and for myself. Don’t they say that happens to you when you find the right person?”
Jin’s lips meet yours once more, briefly, before he pulls away and opens his mouth to whisper. “I understand striving for ‘better’ or ‘more’ baby, but I hope you know that you’re enough. You’re always more than enough. Just the way you are. You’re good. You’re great. You’re beautiful. I love you.”
The simple yet significant words, coupled with Jin cupping your face and brushing your hair to the side, were just what you need at that moment to put your mind at ease, and you easily fall asleep in Jin’s arms.
+
The quest for a hobby was supposed to be simple. Try, and try, and try until you saw what would ‘stick.’
It was clear early on that your boyfriend’s hobbies would never be yours.
Jin begrudgingly demoted you to ‘his sous-chef-for-life’ when you nearly burned the house down three times in your attempts to surprise him with dinner.
His own gaming etiquette got in the way of you ever enjoying a good game with him, for he had no patience with newbies, and you didn’t have the patience to learn all the controls. The only good that attempt did was him buying you a PC and every gaming accessory possible in your favorite colors, even though they mostly went untouched. For his sake, you’d use the Switch controller whenever he insisted on a game of Mario Kart, and you visited your PC every now and then for a slower game. “I’m a GAMER. AND I cook. AND I fish, too,” you tease Jin every time you play Cooking Mama and Animal Crossing for all of 15 minutes.
Fishing, on the other hand, was a scene from your worst nightmare. Being woken up at the crack of dawn to maybe catch a fish after hours of waiting while seasick… was something you swore to Jin you’d never do again. Luckily, he seemed to prefer it as his usual “boy’s time” anyway, even though he never voiced it, and you quickly found out that the exact same could be said for golf - but neither of you minded the occasional role you played from the golf cart, seeing your boyfriend in action and matching in the most bougie athleticwear on the market.
Tennis… was a sight to behold. You had always said that when it came to Jin, attending some of his practice sessions just to bask in the sight and sounds of him on the court, but the same could also be said for you, though in an entirely different context. The racket seemed to reject your very being, flying from your grasp on numerous occasions and putting Jin’s trainer at risk as well as the general public when it went flying over the court’s walls and onto the street. Jin went so far as to dub it ‘the most memorable tennis day of his entire life,’ despite the fact that he had won a small championship.
Until snowboarding season came around, you were left without any new skills or passions shared with your boyfriend. His support and endless words of encouragement meant the world, but iIt had to have been for the better that none of his hobbies were yours - you understood that those were spaces he needed for himself and didn’t want to be the girl whose entire hobby or life was her boyfriend.
Nights and days he spent away were left entirely in your restless hands - try, and try, and try….
“Are you seeing Mina tonight? Nana? Girl’s night?” Jin asks as he puts on his coat.
“They’re still sick,” you pout. “I’ll be waiting here for you, baby.”
“Do you want to come along? Mr. Baek’s kitchen is always open.”
“Didn’t you say you were making some kiwi pie thing today? You know I’m allergic.”
Jin resigns, taking off his coat. “I’ll stay, then.”
You don’t allow him to, handing the thick, fleecy material back to him. “No, baby, I’m fine. Tonight, I’m trying out a new interest: European classical movies. Apparently, French films from the 1960s are very influential and artistic.”
“And boring,” Jin adds. “I watched some at university. You’re better off with Asian cinema.”
“I’ll leave that for whenever you’re free, then,” you say, anticipating the day but quickly putting the thought away. “I’ll be blasting this film so loudly, not even your ‘soundproof’ gaming room would be safe from its jazzy soundtrack.”
Jin smiles before parting his lips, considering the words he was hesitant to speak. “What if… what if I called up Taehyungie and asked him if he’s free to hang out with you?”
You drop your head as you raise your brows. “You’re arranging a play date for your girlfriend? I’m a grown woman, Kim Seokjin. I can entertain myself, much like you can…...” Your voice trails off, thinking of all the failed attempts at entertaining yourself with different hobbies and interests that were anything but interesting.
“It’s just that I know Taehyung would love that! C’mon, you know he would! You seemed to be getting on with him whenever we see the boys, right? Didn’t you both fangirl over Frank Sinatra the last time we hung out?”
“It’s Bing Crosby, honey.”
“There you go - I can’t even tell the difference… but Taehyung can. For what it’s worth, he’s complaining in the group chat non-stop that he’s bored out of his mind. So… why not?”
+
Steps away from his front door, Jin could hear trumpets echoing from his apartment. Taehyung worked his magic, alright, he thought to himself as he inputted the keycode and swung the door open. Jin expected to see the two of you lounging on the couch, watching the film, or simply having the music play through your vinyl player while you chatted away with a glass of wine. What he did not expect was to see the two of you drunkenly dancing in horrible fashion with intertwined hands and Jimin laughing his head off from the couch.
“OH! Speak of the devil!” Jimin cheers, seemingly sober. “Jin-hyung, save me from these two - please.”
In a second, you rush to Jin, screaming his name as you wrap your arms around his neck and messily kiss him on the lips. “Thank God. I can do as the song says and finally dance with mon cherie. Tae, mon ours, go sit.”
A pout appears on Taehyung’s face as he plops beside Jimin, but your eyes are still on your boyfriend, attempting to manhandle him into some form of movement. “Oh, my baby,” he laughs, letting your head rest on his shoulder. “Taehyung, I expected you to take care of her.”
“And that’s why I called Jimin,” Tae babbles, forcing a not-so-innocent childlike expression on his face, pointing at their friend. “We-we’re staying over tonight, okay?”
“Seems like a sleepover already,” Jin tuts.
“Humor her, hyung. I was called in halfway through the film and we’ve yet to finish it because they keep repeating the same scene. She’s been saying she wants to dance with you all night like the girl in the movie does,” Jimin says.
“I’ve never seen this film. I don’t know what to do,” Jin says.
“We’ll teach you,” Taehyung says as tries to rewind the film to whatever dance scene you were talking about, in as bad of a state as you were, which Jin thought would help. “Jimin, stand up.”
Jimin does, allowing Taehyung to latch onto him, and thus is immediately suffocated by the weight of his friend. “Copy my lead, hyung.”
The following morning, Jin is as fiery as the breakfast he’s cooking up on his own, ranting to himself in pout while the three of you only watch on due to your shared lack of cooking skills, hungover and bundled up at the kitchen counter.
“Do you think yoga and meditation suit me as hobbies?” you ask the boys after you and Jin had explained how you came up with ‘the movie night to end all movie nights’ as Taehyung had labeled it.
“With your patience?” Jin scoffs, and you’re quick to shoot him a glare - it stung, perhaps more than it should've, so you quickly put the thought away. Nights alone and countless failed hobbies exhausted your patience, but he hadn't seen that... as you hoped. After all, Jin was always supportive and offered not only to stay the night prior, but also indirectly gave you one of the most memorable movie nights of your life with Taehyung. A soft glare was enough.
“That’s exactly what I mean! You need yoga and meditation, but can you do it? Sit still like that?" You open your mouth to argue but fail to do so at the sight of your shaking knees - he was right. "Oh, hey, you know who else can’t sit still?”
“Who?”
“Jungkookie. You seemed to get on with him, too, no? If you’re looking for something active, why don’t you let him teach you boxing?”
“We do pilates together too, twice a week, if that’s more your thing,” Jimin quickly adds, “You’re free to join us any time.”
“Yah, it’s not easy,” Taehyung jumps in, taking a bite of the breakfast that was now in front of him. “If you want to exercise your creative skills, which is a million times more fun, we can do a painting session together. Just for fun, it doesn’t have to be perfect.”
“Exactly! That’s what I’ve been telling her,” Jin says, pointing his hands in thanks towards Taehyung for echoing the words he'd spoken to you restlessly when you gave up origami and journaling. There had to have been some wisdom in the advice, you think, but your patience had been worn thin... how much more could one person try?
"She wants whatever she does to be ‘perfect’ at the very first attempt, but that’s impossible," Jin continues. "The only perfect thing in the world is her, but even she has to start as a beginner. That’s the point of hobbies - they don’t have to be perfect, you just need to enjoy them.”
“You called me perfect,” you blush, kissing Jin’s cheek. The reminder sufficed to get your legs to stop from beneath the kitchen table, now fiddling with the fabric of his hoodie. It was hard to envision being good enough or interesting, but at the very least, one person had seen you as such. Jin and his constant reminders were the only things that kept you from falling off the deep end... he never let you stray too far, even in your thoughts, nudging you towards Jimin when your head started to rest against his shoulder the way it always did when you needed reassurance.
“Pilates does sound interesting…” you mumble.
“Good!” Jimin cheers. “Tomorrow. You, me, Jungkookie.”
“Oh, but first,” you pause, holding Jin’s arm. His eyebrow is already raised, knowing you were about to tease him. “Are you sure it’s alright for me to go work out with your very fit and adorable young friends?”
“I am sure, brat,” Jin says, rolling his eyes before quickly whispering to Jimin, “Make sure Jungkookie keeps his shirt on.”
+
One pilates session with Jungkook and Jimin quickly turned into two, which turned into three, which turned into boxing sessions with Jungkook alone, regular morning jogs with Jimin, and a newfound love for fitness. Boxing made you feel stronger, and Jungkook’s thoughtful observations and comments were of more help and motivation than your now-shared instructor. And catching the sunrise at dawn really was as beautiful and as ‘worth it’ as the annoying health gurus claim to be, something you and Jimin begrudgingly admitted to.
Jin had been supportive as he always was.... up until the day you almost fainted, scolding Jungkook and Jimin for not being more careful of you and insisting you take a week-long break.
“But honey, I don’t want to stop so abruptly! I’m on a roll and I miss the boys already! And for the record, they are always so considerate. I messed up and did more than I should've, but I'm fine today!” you pout, laying on the couch with a hot compress on your core to relieve your soreness and snacking on a fruit bowl, as Jin instructed and prepared.
“My love, you’re exhausted. I don’t want to hear any more of it for at least five days….” he tuts, carefully placing kinesiology tape on your skin. “I hate seeing you this upset, though. You said you feel as though your brain ‘opened up’ when you began exercising, right? Well, why don’t you try exercising that beautiful brain? Take Taehyung up on his offer and take an art class together.”
So you do. Sandwiched between Taehyung and Jungkook at back-to-back painting sessions, you were inspired by their very different approaches to their shared hobby. Tae had his signature style that seemed to effortlessly flow out of him and onto the canvas every time, whereas Jungkook tried a different approach, concept, tool, or style at every session. Both boys seemed like natural talents, but you found peace and awe in Taehyung’s freedom of expression and especially Jungkook’s itch to learn and try new things so fearlessly time & time again...
It was hard to tell what you would create from session to session, slapping paint on a rough pencil sketch every time, but with every stroke of your paintbrush and conversation with the boys, you could breathe a little better...
“Ya, with all these colors… Is this what Namjoon-hyung calls ‘modern art’?” Jungkook teases, staring at your latest creation. You’re quick to poke him with the paintbrush for teasing you, and he’s quick to reassure you.
“It’s Pollock-y, dear Jungkookie the Artist Who Hates Learning Art History,” Taehyung explains. “It is art.”
+
to: my love [6:01pm]: hey, how’s the art class going? how are the boys?
to: prince charmjin [6:32pm]: good! we’re basically done!! we’re going out for dinner. jungkookie is hungry and i think I owe him for making him listen to my rant on the injustice women face and how society is built on misogyny
to: my love [6:34pm]: hehehe knowing jk, he was willingly listening, like i did. even he’d agree that you don’t him dinner. i made pasta at home..
to: prince charmjin [6:51pm]: aw :( we’re already at the steakhouse. maybe jk will be in the mood for pasta later too though
to: my love [7:01pm] have fun :)
to: prince charmjin [8:58pm] on my way home, honey. tae’s dropping me off. jungkook wanted to come but he’s asleep right beside me and he’s tae’s next stop.
to: my love [9:02pm]: good, they’re taking care of you just as i asked them to
to: prince charmjin [9:04pm]: they’re the bestest boys. i don’t need them to take care of me though. :3
“They’re my babies, and I love them,” you remark to Jin after showing him your latest creation, a matching one-of-three painted self-made pottery sculpture with the boys.
The younger boys were your safe space, he thought. Good. And… so am I.
“And I’m your biggest baby that you love the most,” Jin smiles, pouting his lips in want of a kiss. When you grant his wish, a feeling washes over him… one that he couldn’t help but identify as temporary. A seconds-lasting painkiller. “I guess you get the younger boys, and I get the older ones. I’m closer to them anyway. You’ve met them all, haven’t you? Namjoon and Yoongi? And Hobi, of course.”
“Hoseok is always here, Seokjin, so of course, but I think I’ve heard of Namjoon and Yoongi more times than I’ve actually seen or met them. Do they have any hobbies I can steal? The boys mentioned something about Namjoon and art?”
“Namjoon is art. In that he's beautiful and unbelievable, but also that he is interested in anything and everything art-related - museums, galleries, exhibitions, and all that crap. And fitness, so… there’s that,” Jin says, instantly regretting his words at the memory of Namjoon working out, grateful for remembering his friend’s most unenjoyable hobby to move on to. “Oh, he actually hikes! He meditates in the mountains like a wise old man afterwards. Hoseok likes dance, of course, but he also loves fashion. Yoongi likes fishing and drinking with me only,” Jin emphasizes, having always been proud and appreciative of the fact that he’d been the only one who was ever able to get Yoongi to join in on another’s hobby. “By himself, Yoongi plays basketball.... he’s studying, he plays tennis, fencing, he reads, produces, he scrapbooks, he gardens, he runs, he gardens, he flies, he soars! He actually might be Superman.”
You roll your eyes, prompting Jin to explain. “Sorry, inside joke with the boys. Yoongi does so much and is so secretive about it all that I wouldn’t be surprised if all of that is true. But he’d say he’s Batman rather than Superman, actually. I’m Superman… right?”
Jin places his hands on his hips, buffing out his chest and glancing at you through his periphery, hoping his extra hours at the tennis court paid off whenever you'd had an art or fitness session with the boys. He had to know if you saw him as such, as some type of Superman… especially after the countless times you’d trained with Jungkook and Jimin. Though he tried to push the thought away, the image bit at him, even now when was messing around. A seed of something he couldn't quite name...
When your hands are on his shoulders, trailing down his chest, he begins to relax. Even more so when you use his fork to finally take a bite of the dinner he’d prepared. Perhaps he’d been too worried.
“Well, we both know I don’t need saving, but I’ll play along, my handsome Superman. This Lois Lane wants to meet and investigate the interests of the rest of your Justice League, baby.”
“Okay,” Jin murmurs. “Who should we start with?”
“Namjoon? Hey, he’d probably be Aquaman, huh? Same nature shit, apparently, and definitely the same body.”
Perhaps he hadn’t been too worried.

to: prince charmjin [9:02am]: i am texting you from the beyond. from the spiritual realm.
to: prince charmjin [9:03am]: come climb up this fucking mountain and bury your girlfriend she’s dead and hates her life and didn’t pack enough water
to: prince charmjin [9:03am]: you’ll know the way, my blood, sweat, and tears left a trail
to: prince charmjin [9:04am]: i gotta admit it’s pretty tho (1 image attached)
Knew it.
Jin was rarely a smug man, but he couldn’t help but indulge in the feeling when he’d woken up to your texts and later when you trudged into the apartment, resigning from a hiking day with Namjoon and swearing you’d never do it again. He guessed you’d hate every second of it but didn’t want to hold you back from your mission and trying something new. His pride is quickly squashed, however, when you follow up the sentence with a declaration that he’d invited you to the opening of an art exhibit the very next day.
“I’m his VIP guest, honey,” you cheer, kissing Jin on the cheek. “And I’m going to the afterparty too so you can have a boy’s night - call your grandpa friends! Oh, it’ll be past their bedtime, won’t it?”
He forces a chuckle. “I hate that that’s true. Plus, I’ve seen way too many people this week, so I’ll game til the early hours of the day - just like I did when I was single.”
Jin hates that the thought had left his lips. It was honest, he had missed his gaming marathons when he never had someone to go to bed to, but it was cruel to mention. He hated the idea that some part of him meant it as such, as a signal, a cry, anything… you never said such words or guilted him when he’d been busy. It was spiteful, it wasn’t like him…. or was it?
“Oh, great! I know you used to love those game-a-thon things. I’m sorry, baby, I didn’t realize you stopped because of me. I hope you know you can do those at any time, okay? I won’t mind.”
Something turned in Jin’s stomach. The seed of what he could only label as worry was now an undeniable pit at his very core.
He should be ecstatic at the fact that you were so accepting of him possibly spending an ungodly amount of hours gaming… but it was too accepting. A smile was on your face, but for the first time in your relationship, Jin couldn’t read what it was - as though a sudden, unknown filter stood between you. Was it temptation? An unthinkable impulse he sensed on your end... Joy, relief, or freedom? Perhaps it was, Jin couldn't tell. It ate at him now, and instead of surrendering, he fought with what he had left.
This… this was the least he could do for you, he told himself, thinking of all the ways he came up short as a boyfriend where others succeeded.
He replayed the image over and over again - the way your eyes light up after every acquired skill or hobby. Your subsequent, beautiful smile seemed like the only thing he could hold on to, keeping aside the anxieties surrounding the reasons behind it. It had to be reminder enough. Seeing you happy made him happy. He knew that…. but he also knew that something dark festered within him. He didn’t like it… he didn’t like it all…
+
to: y/n [5:30pm] on my way home
to: y/n [5:35pm] just got here… where are you?
to: y/n [6:01pm] are you working out?
to: y/n [6:02pm] hey?
Jin needed to blow off some steam.
Gaming didn’t work. The incompetent online players he was paired with only infuriated him further, and the shot he took only made his heart race faster. He thought to spend some time in the kitchen, but he couldn’t help but overthink, indecisive over whether to cook dinner for the two of you or just for himself. When a thought came to mind - to cook something you’d hate just to spite you for not answering his texts and calls with no prior warning or explanation - he quickly discarded the whole idea. He wasn’t hungry anyway.
A best friend would do, he figured.
When it came to opening up, he could only ever trust his younger friends - the ’grandpas’ as you liked to call them, often gave him outdated advice he never cared for. Plus, they didn’t know him like the boys did - since they now know you as well, Jin figured it was the best-case scenario. Surely, they’d have something to say.
But another hour passes, and still, none of Jin’s messages were seen or answered. The younger boys hadn’t answered when he’d asked if they knew of your whereabouts, and the older ones didn’t answer his calls or texts to talk. His skin began to crawl…
until he remembered the failsafe. Out of everyone, Hobi was the only person who still revealed his live location on a social media app to his friends. It was something Jin in particular scolded him for, knowing it was a safety breach, but now, he was thankful for it.
Of course, he’s still at the damn dance studio.
+
Is that…?
Chills shiver down Jin’s body the second he hears the music through the studio’s walls. It’s a song he knows too well… and so do you.
Following the music with long and forceful strides that echo through the corridors, Jin bursts open the door to Hoseok’s own practice room. And his stormy intrudance is proven to be justified.
In front of the mirror were you and Hoseok, dancing too close together to a song from Jin’s secret sex playlist, surrounded by the rest of the boys, watching closely and making teasing noises that shook his very core.
“YA!”
Jin’s voice booms throughout the spacious room, overtaking the loud music playing through every speaker. The group scatters, every person with a horrified look on their face…. yours hurt the most.
Rage was unfamiliar to Jin. He didn’t know what to do with it, feeling it then and there. One would normally shout or yell, question and guilt, as he’s seen and studied before… but his lips were frozen in a frown. He wondered if it was common for one to cry out of fury, though no tears streamed down his face… he knew how to hold them back. His senses confused him, distorted, forced to venture into uncharted territory. Jin could hear differing calls of “Hyung” and what must’ve been excuses as someone turned off the music - all muffled and intelligible. Through it all, he could hear only the soft call that left your lips amidst the chaos, “Jin, my love…”
With his eyes still fixated on you and the words that ease his sole, the knot within him came undone.
His throat throbs and everyone knew what it meant, though no one was close enough to see the pools in his eyes.
“Everyone leave,” you command, and the room is empty save for you and Jin within seconds.
The downpour starts. Though his face was frozen cold, Jin’s body allowed him to move, and all he could do was pace the studio and ignore your small steps toward him. When he finally stops, you’re close enough to stand before him, your head no longer hung so low. The guilt on your face was almost enough to make Jin forget his feelings.
“….I’m so sorry, my love,” you say after a moment’s silence. His lips tremble at the words, wanting to refute them… he doesn’t need to say it for you to understand.
His breath is hitched when he sees your hand extend towards his face, which he tilts just as he always would when you did this. He exhales as you do when you cup his face so gently, moving to your touch as his tears are wiped away. But when your hand brushes over his mouth, he can’t bring himself to purse his lips into a kiss as he always would. The dark seed within him still tugged him back from fully diving in.
“Sit for a moment?” you ask, and he nods, feeling his knees giving way as you lead him to the two weirdly placed chairs by the giant mirror wall in Hoseok’s studio. While you sit with your side to the back of the chair to face him better, he slumps against the hardwood backing, staring at the ceiling as his eyes dry up so he can finally face you once again.
“I can’t talk much. I.. what is this? What am I?” he mumbles with a strained voice, pushing the skin at his temples. “Fuck… I’ve tried rehearsing this, and even then, the words just didn't come out. I can't put a name on it, but I don’t like what’s been happening. All of it. No… No, not all of it.” Jin breathes deeply before continuing. “My girlfriend is never around, and not only that, she spends all her time with my best friends… without me. I know you’re on your journey for more self-discovery and that you really like the boys, so I feel like a piece of shit for feeling this way and for saying this, but… fuck, I’m... I'm angry.”
Jin sees you take in his words, brushing away a couple of runaway tears. “I understand. You have every right to be pissed,” you repeat. “I… shit, I’m sorry, Jin. I never meant to exclude you, my love. The boys don’t either… but that doesn't excuse it... It doesn't." You go stone cold, as though you were replaying the time that's passed over and over in your head. "Will you allow me to talk for a little while? Can I… unpack it all on my end?”
How could he not? Jin nods.
“I learned a whole lot on this 'quest’ which started with your support, I may add - and I’m not blaming you here. I’m thanking you, honey… You’ve been incredible.”
Already, Jin starts feeling sick, hearing the words of a definite breakup speech and knowing that he was the furthest thing from incredible. His friends were. All he can do is watch, now looking at his fingers as he bites his own nails on an unsteady hand.
"Most guys would never even suggest to their girlfriend the idea of her hanging out with his friends - alone. I'm so grateful, honey, and not only that, it actually might be one of the sweetest, most attractive things you've ever done..."
H-huh? Jin tugged at his own sweater, thinking of the possible ways you'd get to the end of your speech and the conclusion that stated what he ultimately feared - that the attraction, or worse, the love, wore off with all you were left with.
“But most of all, I'm grateful. I'm different. I probably wasn't around that much for you to see, but... on this quest, it was as though I unlocked parts of myself I didn't know I had. That was a past version of me, the girl who was in an eternal reading slump, and was too scared to do much else but stay in that slumpish cocoon... I love my cocoon and staying in, don't get me wrong, but I just have more things that give me joy. I feel more certain of myself - like more of that confidence you rubbed off on me. It seems trivial, I know, but everything... everything helped."
You were right. Jin hadn't seen any of it - the rewards of your quest. He cursed himself, knowing he could have if he only paid attention, recalling warped memories of your pride and new experiments. He didn't have to take your word for it, seeing some of it now. You were more sure of yourself. Bold. Happier. That one note settled it - if this grand speech were to end the way he had expected, all that mattered was that. That you were happier.
"That's good," he croaks. "I'm proud."
"I'm proud of myself, too," you nod. "I am the slightly more improved version of myself I knew I could be. Maybe I could be even better, I don't know... but through it all, I kept repeating to myself the same phrase, over and over again. 'You’re enough. You’re always more than enough. Just the way you are. You’re good. You’re great. You’re beautiful. I love you.' Those words... that's what kept me going more than anything."
Jin's breath is hitched when he's finally able to look at you so directly, at the woman he loved with his entire being, quoting his own words. He had meant every word then, prior, all throughout, and would for eternity. If those simple words were enough to help, though he was certain they were not enough to capture the depth of his love, he had served his purpose in life.
"I was entirely motivated by self-love and your love for me, Seokjinnie. I fucking love you," you exhale, and Jin does too, coming undone. All he could do was hang his head low as the tears instantly return, and in seconds, you're at his knees, reaching for him. Like he'd foolishly been dreaming of...
"I don't deserve you. I've been so... so..." his low voice trails off.
"My love, let me finish, hmm? It'll help," you whisper, trying to hold onto any piece of him, and Jin lets you, feeling a rush through his very soul at him being called as such by you. He just hoped he wasn't awaiting more cushioning for a devastating blow... even so, it was one he was now reminded to fight for.
"I have to talk about the boys. I obviously enjoy the hobbies I do with the baby boys - you remember when I told you how I love how strong I feel now? How I feel creative for the first time since high school? That holds up, and in truth, the boys are just angels. I developed such a close friendship with Jiminie, Taehyungie, and Jungkookie that I don't think I can let that go. I just adore them…. and so much so that I’ve been trying to set them up with the girls - Nana, Kiki, and Mina.”
A breath escapes Jin, his fingers stroking his chin. It made sense, he thought. Nana and Taehyung in particular would be perfect together…
“I know you’re closer with the older boys, and I haven’t forgotten them. Namjoon is very cool, but… pretty much none of what he likes works for me. Hiking is as bad as fishing, no offense, and art is only fun when we’re mindlessly having fun in the studio. Otherwise…” You scrunch your nose at the thought, shaking your head violently in disapproval - the endearing act that never fails to make him giggle, even now. “The only reason we keep in touch is to talk books, which… you know I’ve always liked,” you explain.
Jin nods. You and Namjoon’s reading speeds always made him feel like a third-grader. You’d sooner finish reading a 700-page book than learn how to make a simple grilled cheese sandwich - Namjoon was the same. In a world where most people were not as such, at least you two clumsy nerds know of each other, he thought.
“Dancing was… always on my list of things to try, believe it or not. You were there when I brought it up to Hoseok,” you recall the interaction you’d had weeks ago, and so does Jin, who had been so taken aback at your suggestion to Hoseok, having assumed you’d want fashion or social media advice from his savvy friend. You’d never danced sober more than simply swaying, even on the most private occasions… there was never any reason for him to know dancing was always a thing you’d wanted to try... but then again, perhaps the 'new you' had been buried too deeply. But it took guts to ask Hoseok - he knew you knew that as well - the sheer courage and confidence that must've settled in only recently….
“But…. I pretty much told him that I didn’t want him to teach me anymore after the first lesson. He’s like… really fucking scary, Jin, holy shit. I know you've mentioned it, but I didn’t think he was capable of being like that! I thought he was going to kill me!” Another giggle escapes him at your shock. If you had simply run the idea by him, he’d have told you that already, he thinks to himself, as he did after your hike with Namjoon, but he chooses to say it out loud this time. “Oh, lesson learned, believe me, honey. I passed it off as me wanting a female instructor, which I do. Because well….I couldn’t tell Hoseok I wanted to learn burlesque dancing now, could I?”
“Bur-burlesque?!” Jin says, leaning forward as if it’d make him hear any better.
“Mhmm….” The faint, smug smile on your face calmed his heart - it’d been a while since he’d seen you as such - but it did nothing to calm his mind. Just the mental image of you…. “And pole dancing too. I keep telling my instructor that I want to surprise my boyfriend, so she helped me come up with some choreography involving… things you like.”
Jin’s excitement fades when he remembers - the song. “Was that what you were showing the boys?! When I walked in….”
“As if. That’d be for your eyes only, honey. When you walked in, we were just teasing Jimin about something stupid. The song just came up on shuffle.”
Jin shakes his head and stands up to pace the room, replaying the scene once again and scolding himself. Once again, it’s as though you can read his thoughts. “It probably looked odd from your angle…”
“Why was everyone there? Wait, was that Yoongi in here too?” It’d taken Jin this long to realize Yoongi had been present as well. Save for the makeshift therapy session Jin had wanted to have earlier in the day, he had been trying to schedule appointments with Yoongi all week - a needed fishing trip and a work meeting, but his friend only ever answered when Jin had been fast asleep. Had Yoongi been here for Hoseok? Jimin?
“My day started with Yoongi,” you sigh.
You?! The one person who knew of his desperate attempts to get to Yoongi?! he thought, so shocked he had to sit down, opting for the space on the floor in front of you instead of the chair.
”No secrets, especially since I’m laying everything out today. It was my first time hanging out with Yoongi, just so you know. I wanted to pick out a good anniversary gift for you since that’s coming up, and we went shopping for all these fancy liquors. Then, he was just meant to drop me off here at the studio, and after my lesson, I found out he just stayed since Hoseokie was already here in the other room with Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung. And Namjoon… he was just here, I guess. Actually, I think he’s hiding that he’s dating one of Hoseok’s dancers. The boys seemed to tease him about it?”
“Oh shit, good. He’s always had a crush on her,” Jin smiles to himself. It starts out as happiness for his dear friend, knowing how deeply Namjoon’s affections could run, and when the crush began. It was right at the start of Jin’s own relationship with you. At that time, for the first time in over a decade, Jin finally understood his friend. Namjoon loved love. He got so caught up in the idea and complexities of love, talking endlessly about how it’s the center of the universe, tying everything together. “It is science,” Jin would always rebuff until he couldn’t. Until he understood. He wasn't going to forget any of it again - not even for a second.
And once again, the woman he loved cups his face, searching his watery eyes, and kneeling on the floor in front of him.
"….Did you ever feel this way?"
You consider his words and think over yours. "Angry? A little jealous? ....Lonely? If that's what you've been feeling... Yes, sometimes."
“Then you don’t have to be sorry, my love. I’m sorry I got angry more than anything. I… didn’t like that. That wasn’t me…. was it?”
“Not the usual you, but it’s the human you. It’s within reason… I never saw you get jealous before, which is a green flag since I know you trust me - as you should! And I trust you! But still, as someone who gets jealous over you often… it weirdly reassured me, I guess? That you still want me.”
“…. Wait, you get this often?!” Jin blinks.
“Honey, I feel jealous whenever anyone follows their urge to say you’re handsome, which is very often. I always wish I could answer with ‘AND HE’S MINE’ and giggle like a little leprechaun who's hoarding a pot of gold all for himself,” you say with a tone so serious it makes Jin erupt in his signature dolphin-noise laugh for the first time that night.
“I’m always yours! And I always want you! Honey… this is a dark feeling. How do you deal with it often…. I… I never want to feel this way ever again,” he exhales, tugging on the fabric of your top before your hand covers his.
“I deal with it because you always remind me that you’re mine and I’m yours, like you did just now. Because you make sure I know you love me. I… I try. I promise I’ll try harder, my love.”
“No, honey, you do more than enough. I know you love me. I do. I was just… blinded, I guess, which I fucking hate. I… I thought I’d be stronger, better than to fall into this stupid mental rut.”
“You’re human. You’re my human,” you smile, hand slowly trailing down Jin’s cheek but lingering your touch over his pursed lips. Jin’s hands find your waist, and your arms immediately wrap themselves over his shoulders. When your racing hearts calm together in sync, and your breathing follows, the world falls into place and both of your meaningless defenses yield. Your bodies and spirits rest against one another, tired, aching, and longing. Jin wanted just this. To keep you close, for all eternity, if he could… if you’d wanted the same. He’s reassured when his attempt to tighten his embrace falls short, realizing how closely you’ve been holding him in turn. It was physically impossible to be any closer, and still, it wasn’t enough. Exhaling against you, with a hand somewhere in your hair at your back and the other holding your head, his senses overwhelm him once again. It’s too much, the love he’d felt at that moment. Dreamlike, even when he notices that his hand had been lying right over your bra strap. And he remembers even more.
“So… burlesque, huh?” Jin smirks.
“What do you think the chairs are here for?” Turning, Jin’s jaw drops when sees the two now-empty chairs. He tries to hide his excitement by covering his face when he sees you, sure it is red already.
“Oh, with a reaction like this, I’m definitely keeping it as a hobby then. I’m good at it too,” you smile, brushing his hair. “It’ll be good and all for you, baby. Painting random shit and fitness has been fun, especially with the younger ones, and burlesque will be for the both of us. But! My quest is not over, and my introverted self is not fulfilled just yet. I still have crocheting, writing, blogging, and photography to try out. I want something that’s entirely mine.”
“I promise that I support you with trust, love… always,” Jin thinks over his words, fidgeting with his fingers.
“And…I’m…..entirely yours,” he says quietly, a smile finally fixed on his face.
“And I’m yours,” you say with a smile, finally pulling Jin into a kiss that he can’t help but melt into. It’s soft, quick pecks and affectionate murmurs until you straddle his lap. Suddenly, it’s as though your entire mature conversation and successful attempt at communication never happened, and you replayed it all then and there. He reaches for you, pulling you down and onto him until you gasp. At that, Jin’s hand at your nape pushes you into his kiss, and you let him. He bites at your lower lip, moaning when you’re quick to do the same back, yet his sounds grow louder when he lets you passionately kiss him all over. In a fight for stability, he grabs onto the nearby chair and breaks away so suddenly.
“The - the damn boys are still here. I think I heard something break in the corridor - it’s either Namjoonie or Jiminie.”
You open your mouth to say something but don’t, looking at Jin instead. “If they’ve been trying to eavesdrop and want the gist of it, how would you like it if I fake moaned your name a bit too loudly so they know I’m yours and only yours?”
“It doesn’t have to be fake, though, does it?” he asks, leaning back on his elbows and lying in wait, positioned in front of the mirror. Seeing a turn in your gaze seconds before you pounce on top of him, Jin is electrified. Your name leaves his lips and his yours, not just as a moan but a promise. A quest of his own. To make you happier and happier for as long as he lived and more. To find a new way to love you every single day. You deserved as many as the universe had to offer.

VALENTINE'S DAY
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ✦ summary: headcanons of the shadow & bone characters on valentine's day ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ✦ character(s): nikolai lantsov, tamar kit-bataar, tolya yul-bataar, genya safin and zoya nazyalensky ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ✦ warnings: none ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ✦ word count: 752 ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ ✦ author note: NOT A MODERN AU! sorry some are a bit shorter
masterlist.
NIKOLAI LANTSOV
✦ He would overplan and over think every detail, he's worse than Genya
✦ Thoughts like "Which gift would you like better?" "An outdoor or indoor date?" "Maybe a date at the theatre?"
✦ He'd spent nights planning but nothing seemed right, Zoya knocked some sense into him. "I think they wouldn't mind all this expensive stuff, but you being there is enough"
✦ Would end up going simple, inviting you to dine with him
✦ The food would be some of the best you'd ever tasted
✦ After the dinner you would walk the gardens together, enjoying the fresh air when with his luck, he's being called back to the palace
✦ "May I have this dance," Nikolai intrigued by what your doing, takes you up on the offer
✦ The two of us danced until the meeting was on the back of his mind but eventually he had to leave but not without a kiss
TAMAR YUL BATAAR
✦ Tamar's mentality is more of "let's see what the day brings" but she does have some stuff planed
✦ The ship had docked in Novy Zem, a festival taking place near the docks. Tamar remembered you wanting to visit it
✦ The festival had carts lining the street with all kinds of delicacies from every corner of the world. Streets booming with colours. It was a beautiful site
✦ Tamar and you spent the day trying all kinds of food and just being around each other. She didn't mind spending all her money just for you to keep that lovely smile
✦ Then the both of you found yourselves in a local bar, singing songs you'd only learned the words to an hour ago
✦The day ended in a cot, somehow two people fitting in such a small space. You laying completely on her, sound asleep
TOLYA YUL BATAAR
✦ Tolya is the romantic out of the twins
✦ Still he would go simple being apart of Nikolai's crew means travelling a lot and that leaves out, a typical dinner date
✦ Living on a ship as well doesn't help. There aren't many places for a quite talk, let alone a date
✦ Instead he turns to what he knows best, poetry. He would spend days looking for the perfect book and then weeks annotating it. Underlining verses that reminds him of you or moments shared together
✦ He would invite you to the deck and by the time he did most of the crew were asleep. You thought he'd forgotten the holiday all together, you were wrong. He gave you a box of sweets he'd bought at the port in Novy Zem, along with the book
✦ You'd spent the rest of the night sharing the sweets and just enjoying each other's company
✦ When you finally had the chance to read the book, some of the poems described the stars lost in the night's sky, a sea of darkness, finding their true purpose upon the arrival of the moon. "You're my moon, the only purpose I need" (sorry it's cheesy)
GENYA SAFIN
✦ Genya would go above and beyond to make the perfect valentine's day date
✦ A picnic date if the weather calls for it with both of your favourite snacks, foods and deserts
✦ If it does end up raining a nice date indoors would be something she prefers over, a fancy dinner
✦ She doesn't mind dining in a expensive restaurant, but she thinks a more personal dinner at home, is better
✦ Genya would plan everything down to the last minute especially if it's your first valentine's day together
✦ She ended up getting her picnic date
✦ All kinds of foods were lined up in front of you as you enjoyed the sunny day and spending time with Genya
ZOYA NAZYALENSKY
✦ You would be the one planning the date and Zoya would act as if the holiday has little significance to her. You'd decided a date at a fancy restaurant was the way to go
✦ She'd loved it, the one you chose wasn't too crowded and the food was delicious. You'd talked about your future plans with one another, how your day had gone and so on
✦ After leaving the restaurant, the two of you headed somewhere a bit more reclusive to watch the fireworks
✦ Zoya too busy staring at the fireworks, didn't notice your hands putting something around her neck. Once she tore her eyes from the literal explosions of colour, she spotted a beautiful necklace. "Happy Valentine's day."
Thank you for reading!

[A3!] ★ Main Story | Act 14 - DREAM CATCHER | Episode 25 - Full-Power Advertising Campaign
Izumi: (Opening day is finally this weekend, and the ticket sales are…)
Izumi: Hmm…
Izumi: (We’ve sold more since the last meeting, but things are still kind of iffy on the weekdays.)
Izumi: (It’s a little worrying that even with Tenma-kun’s popularity, we still haven’t sold out…)
Izumi: (There are more announcements for not only performances but also events and streaming too, so variance like this is inevitable.)
Izumi: (At this point, what we need is publicity. I’ll talk to Masumi-kun about this too.)
Izumi: (And since we’re aiming for the New Fleur Award, I’d like for us to get some more exposure on social media too--.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Ibuki: I sometimes post longer videos with legit editing ‘n stuff, but nowadays people like watching shorter videos and those ones do way better too.
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: --.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Kumon: Ah, there’s an article about our dress rehearsal!
Kazunari: Everyone works fast, as always~.
Yuki: The contents of the performance seems to have been generally well received.
Misumi: …It’s almost time to start, Gramps.
Muku: It’s nice that you can talk to Hakkaku-san whenever you want.
Misumi: Yeah!
Izumi: Do you have a sec, guys?
Tenma: What’s up?
Izumi: Sorry for this being so last minute, but I need you guys to film a promotional video in your costumes to post on social media.
Kazunari: Sure thing!
Kumon: What are we gonna do? What are we gonna do?
Muku: U-Umm, umm, how about some funny one-liners or something?
Kumon: What about impressions?
Misumi: We should do somersaults!
Tenma: And you think that’s gonna get us publicity? We should show off the highlights of the play or something.
Kazunari: The more movement, the more attention it’ll grab~.
Yuki: Then why don’t we do a reenactment digest showcase?

Izumi: Yeah, that’s perfect! I’ll post it soon. Thanks, guys!
Misumi: You’re welcome~!

Tenma: The opening day for “Water me!! ~The Promise of Year 333~” is today!
Muku: We’re MANKAI Company! Please support us!
Izumi: I never thought we’d be handing out flyers right before a performance…
Kumon: I think it’s a great alternative to how we usually warm up~!
Kazunari: Plus it’s nice that we stand out more ‘cause we’re wearing our costumes~.
Yuki: Remember, you break it, you buy it.
Kumon: We’ll be careful…!
Misumi: “Water me!! The Promise of Year 333~” is opening today~!
Passerby A: Oh, it’s starting today.
Passerby B: That reminds me, I just checked and totally forgot to get a ticket!
Passerby A: There are so many things I wanna see, it’s like I’ve gotta put together a puzzle to fit them all into my schedule.
Izumi: We’ve still got seats available on weekdays, so please considering get one for then!
Passerby B: I’ll book one online right away--.
*Passerby B bumps into Misumi and flyers fall to the ground*
Passerby B: --Gh.
Misumi: Are you okay~?
Passerby B: I’m so sorry, your flyers…! I’ll pick them up!
Muku: We can get them, so don’t worry about it.
Kazunari: Take care~.
Passerby B: I really am sorry! Do your best with your performance!
Kazunari: Thanksies~!
Misumi: Some flyers flew over there, so I’ll go pick them up~!
Izumi: Thanks, you go do that.
