you HAVE to acknowledge dean's complexities if you say you like him as a character. you cant pretend young dean was this perfect flawless sweet parental character to sam when canon clearly contradicts it. he was (is) aggressive and mean and he yells at sam for mentioning their dead mom or being upset he's being lied to all the time and leaves him alone as a very young child in motel rooms (and to be clear. he was a child in a situation he should never have been him. so im not BLAMING him. im just pointing it out). he also steals presents for sam and pretends dad gave him them to try and give sam a good christmas and offers to beat up sams bullies and does try to make him feel better about things like im not saying he was awful at all but it all coexists. yk. i dont understand where the common perception that dean was the one shining spot of perfect golden light in sam's childhood comes from especially when pretty much every instance we have of one of them expressing nostalgia for their childhood comes from DEAN. and sams only ever wanted to be free of it. like.

but the “you loved her, and you dumped her” isnt posed as any kind of question, sam doesnt ask why, because he doesnt really care about the why, he just likes that dean had done it. then dean barely gives him a look and suddenly its “oh, wow-“ and the smile he just had is gone and sams looking like he just got told the trip to disney was cancelled over being told it was the other way around. this isnt sympathy its like jealousy mixed with curiosity idk

his tone just goes from teasing to bitter so fast, he doesnt follow dean into the car, and looks around for a second while he thinks about he feels about that. because dean has always been with women, and while it had made sam bitter ever since he was eleven and could place the feeling he got watching dean come back to the motel room covered in hickeys and scratch marks, he had gotten over it after stanford. he didnt have any right to feel that way, and realized how wrong it was he did when he was in a stable environment away from the other half of that co-dependent relationship.

now the feelings hed never addressed about dean fucking anything that is human and wears a skirt are back for the first time since he left for stanford, except this time its about a genuine romantic connection dean had. dean had loved cassie, and she left him, and he just told dean to go talk to her. had been making innuendos about them all day, even

definitely said this before but it will always stand true that there’s such an insane contrast between fanon jack and canon jack (as in, these are two different characters at this point) that whenever I watch an episode it’s like woah. I forgot he has an actual personality

dean's face in 1x14 when sam says they didn't have it that bad with their dad AND compares their childhood with max's who was abused by his dad. is just so. fucking important to his character as a whole. because sam says it wasn't that bad at least he didn't beat us and abused us. and for him it might be true to some degree at least because he was very little right after mary's death he probably doesn't remember all that much but dean was four and he remembers. max's childhood was his. john did abuse him, he used him and basically made him raise sam on his own, he was never there always out in a hunt or drunk to the point of being unconscious. sam might not remember it but dean sure as hell does.

god it’s like. they spent almost two whole seasons establishing that jack is far more human than anyone expected. that he holds way more value to being human and being like his mother than he ever did to being a cosmic deity or Lucifer’s son. He was done being special!!! He wanted to actually live his life and not hold the burden of great responsibility that came with his great power!!!! Lucifer literally offers him the universe in his hand and all Jack can think is how his friends will miss him. All of his subconscious insecurities are about being genuinely loved and accepted and wanting to go home and have everything be the way it was and he was genuinely so desperate to be their kid again and just Belong with them again that he used THE DARKEST FUCKING MAGIC POSSIBLE. HE KILLED TO GET THEM BACK. Dumah gave him the throne of the literal fucking GOD and the instant jack picks up on Sam’s prayer and the slightest chance that he can go back home he is gone from there like it never mattered to him. Because it doesn’t!!!!!!!! Being an all powerful big special person never once ever mattered to Jack and he literally didn’t even see a point in it if he couldn’t use that power to help the people he loved!!!!! Why the fuck would you take a character like that and MAKE THEM GOD!?????!?!??!?!?!??&!?!?!,!;!?!? WHY WOULD YPU PUT THEIR HUMANITY AND FAMILIAL ATTACHMENT ALMOST AT THE CORE OF THEIR CHARACTER AND THEN GIVE THEM AN ENDING WHERE THEY WILLINGLY GIVE UP BOTH AT ONCE !!!!!
