I'm gonna go a bit unhinged info dumping on like a vague pirate fact I remember from like 9+ years ago

A lot of the reason pirates drank alcohol while at sea was because it was safer/less likely to make you hella sick!!!!! (So I am also like Hey Hyrule might also have a bottle of jack/flask of booze because his world is dangerous af and has questionably drinkable water sources)

Because boiling water on a wooden boat was nnnnot the best idea sometimes

The fresh water was kept in barrels. Dark barrels. In a dark place. Or in the sun on deck where it might get contaminated with sea water BUT ALSO those conditions are great for gross stuff to grow and propagate in the water.

It also tasted like absolute butt. And aside from boiling, at the time adding booze was the best way to sanitize/make it less dangerous to drink. And it tasted even worse because pirates are NOT getting the good stuff they are getting the cheap cheap CHEAP stuff. So I mean. You're trapped in a wet heckscape that never stays still it's dangerous as hell, half of you are sick with scurvy or from the constant ocean motion or other diet deficiency, and your main drink is essentially tannins stained, extremely watered down smirnoff ice. Yea adding a bit more booze to the drink is probably gonna help you through even if it is not the healthiest choice

Also add in magic, some a hole kidnapping your sister, the nightmare that is those wiggly butt scary moblins and Other Horrors and the actual pirates Wind meets being all different heights and shapes and sizes and ages they're probably a little lost on the intricacies of how much alcohol will be helpful vs harmful and probably let him sort it out for himself tbh (I say this with all the love I have for the pirates)

But ye. I feel like the other Links are either in the Lol Been There Kid Cheers To That boat or the I Have Read/Know Of What Is Needed To Survive At Sea I Am Not A Fan But I Understand kinda camp over it

Also also, I'm gonna keep both "the chain gets it and doesn't make a big deal" and "the chain absolutely pesters and dotes and worries because they are His Big Brothers your honor" in my little gay hands for big crimes in my heart forever because it is Fun
