My favorite thing about Yamaguchi is that he's just as bitchy and a hater as Tsukishima but the little shit hides it way better. Gossip king. He talks shit about everyone and Tsuki loves that. Yamaguchi for sure hangs out with him sometimes only to tell him about somebody else's drama Tsuki gives zero fucks about, but the guy listens because Yamaguchi is his boyfriend and he only hears "blah💖✨blah💖✨blah💖✨blah💖✨". Talking shit and gossiping is a love language for these two.

(i am now realizing that i straight up skipped “Spike At Your Service” when I was watching S3 and haven’t watched it to this day because the premise was so uninteresting to me and i could play out almost exactly how i’m certain it would go in my head LOL whoops)

s4 least fav: Daring Don’t (possibly one of the most confused and undercooked moral lessons the show has ever given)

there are too many good episodes of this show…. so many i wanted to mention…. god ESPECIALLY in Season 2. writing this really put into perspective again just how much S2 was lightning in a bottle for this show imo. maybe it’s nostalgia but no other season really comes close to how consistently great 2 is.

Dry-ass (Sorry not sorry) didn't just cause damage to SC.She caused damage to the characters as well.Caroline and Bonnie were established as self-empowered women in s6.By the end of s7,they both were in a devastating state,emotionally, psychologically and physically.As for Stefan,the damaged,layered,dark yet intelligent and intutitive Stefan was gone.Instead,he was acting more Damon-like.While Damon played the bad guy for kicks,Stefan enjoyed being bad when he wanted to but he chose to be compassionate and showed empathy too. His IQ level had dropped severely and was getting easily outmanipulated,despite being a great social manipulator, although whether by choice or not that is up for debate.What happened to the "Better Villain"?Was it actor's choice?

His story was so close to that of Tyler's in s4-big bad with British accent,dumb revenge schemes,mom's death,keeping caroline out of the loop,going on the run.In fact,there were a couple of scenes which were similar to that of TC e.g When Stefan was watching Caroline from outside of her house like Tyler did in s2 possibly.The only difference was this time Caroline was with that low-life.Another was when Stefan and Caroline had a heart to heart.TC had a similar conversation in s2.The dialogues were so similar that I just didn't understand what the hell were they even trying to do.It's like playing out an old relationship using different actor and maybe creating a slightly different circumstance not for any narrative purpose but just for drama which was blatantly manufactured.No wonder Stefan's choices didn't make any internal sense for him.And since you mentioned about Stefan's ripper gene,I remembered how that was like Tyler's werewolf gene.Both were unaware of it until they were informed by a family member.I know the mythology may not be similar in any way but I think the writers had simply lost control over what and how much they would recycle.At least Klaus being a 1000 year immortal hybrid banishing Tyler made some sense.Why and how were all the century old vampires so scared of Matt F***ing Donovan banishing them from Mystic Falls???Just snap his stupid neck!!!With Tyler they never bothered to show how he broke the sire bond.They just told it.With Stefan,the phoenix scar was such a terrible plot device to separate SC.It reminded me of Elena being sired to Damon in s4.Hell even the tvd half of the crossover was unnecessarily contrived and melodramatic.They had Klaus tell Stefan something along the lines of- misery,paranoia will strip you off your desire to live- which was similar to what he had said about Tyler to Hayley after banishing him from MF.Klaus was giving unsolicited advice to Caroline and restricting her identity to simply being a mom while the narrative was desperately trying to convince that Stefan lacked emotional intelligence and wisdom to be in a real relationship.He was making unilateral decisions while Caroline was a whole another story. However,the TO half of crossover was much better written keeping the history of Klefan in mind.Not sure who wrote it but they gave the respect to SC which they deserved in just one episode that their own show didn't in 22 episodes.

Yeah anon I agree, S7 was such a letdown season because I just don't think CD is capable of writing things she doesn't personally like, I remember even the first episode SC felt "off". I mean they were very cute but some of it lacked substance and the dialog didn't feel like them (except the last scene) and it was written by her (should have been my first clue about that season). Whereas 7x04 was vintage Steroline, the dialog, the chemistry even the story of teaming up to "babysit" the murderous heretics was so them (they love playing the game).

That's a really interesting comparison to Tyler in S4 though that I never really thought of, I'm getting into Tyler and Caroline's story in S2 so I'm going to look at for what you brought up in comparison to SC in S7. It doesn't surprise me that CD would do that either, like I said I don't think she cared enough about the S7 characters (her favorite was Katherine IMO) so going back to older seasons and rewriting it fits her MO. I absolutely agree on him being outsmarted that season like ugh, I felt a lot of that was CD making a concerted effort to not have minimal Lily and Stefan interaction and she never continued the ripper-gene talk (and yes the werewolf gene is genetic too). I also don't think CD cares about the character of Stefan outside of him being Katherine's prize. The revenge plot wasn't out of character for him but Julian was very *snore* it felt like murder-Thanksgiving was much closer to how Stefan usually operates as the "better villain to beat the villain". I just remember Dries talked sooooo much before the season aired about Damon/Lily/Stefan being the new "triangle" and we got like 3 scenes of that and then she was dead by episode 8!

I probably need to rewatch S7 to really remember how the storyline really played out, it's been a while so my memory is foggy but yes like WHO CARES WHAT MATT SAYS! Moron shot his fiancée accidentally and I'm supposed to believe supernatural creatures care what he says, please. I was more bothered by the show trying to undermine how much Stefan knew Caroline and vice versa, that was all Dries and I'm glad JP tried to fix it in the second half but still, I hope CD steps on a lego everyday for her transgressions.

Hi. I hope you don't mind me asking a question here. First thing first I haven't watched much of s5, mainly because I'm still having burn out from the whole episodes in s4. But I have seen people posting pictures of Adrien using cataclysm very... Murder happy, which is something that I don't think he ever do before, unless I forgot any episode.

Before, whenever he's frustrated his object on leashing out is never an Akumatized person, it's always be an inanimate object (tree/ads box, chimney and billboard) but in this season, he seems to be losing his patient more and more, the scene in Jubilation is the freshest I can remember how close he was in cataclysmed Dark Owl and apparently he almost did that too in Derision.

My question is, is there a reason behind this behavior? I mean, it feels like out of character of him to do that considering Adrien is always patient and empatetic kind of person that I'm sure if people just telling me without showing the clip of the episodes, I would think theyre joking. Its always sad to see such kind and sweet character to turn like this.

Hey! No worries! I'm sure you are not the only one finding this weird. You are right in saying than before S5, it wasn't like Chat to willingly use Cataclysm on an individual. Aside of Sentis or him being controlled by an akumatized power, or as seen during Chat Blanc, the NY special, Destruction which fall under that category of being accidental.

So what indeed did change or happened to him to the point he can be triggered and having his emotions taking over the best of him?

Tbh, I myself even is sure if I have the correct theory there.

The common element in both Jubilation and Derision is Chat Noir violently reacting when someone plays with the emotions of a person he deeply cares about.

After all, Darker Owl played with both LB and CN's emotions with the power of the Pig and trapping them in a dream fantasy where they were in love, married and had a family while Kim played with Marinette's emotions to the point the impact of that cruel prank have deeply traumatized her.

The dialog at the end of Derision between Marinette and Adrien seems to indicate Marinette isn't the only one with trauma that needs to be healed.

Adrien : I'm scared too. It's new for me, so I don't know how to react. I'm scared of doing something wrong, of hurting you, of someone else hurting you. I'm especially scared of losing you. But we are together and we will do everything to help each other out. Like that, you and me, maybe we will become less scared?

Part of his line refers to what Ladybug told him earlier.

CN : Me too, I got carried away by my emotions. LB : Don't worry. It can happen to anyone. That's why we are a team. There is always one of us to help the other out.

And even though he didn't use Cataclysm, Mister Bug's reaction at the end of Passion was too filled with rage.

Mister Bug : Forcing such a fragile person to carry out his twisted plans. Monarch is a monster! He'll pay for this...

Not only that, but Adrien was tempted to use the Wish to heal Nathalie. Something associated to the Bad Guy side.

So, yeah, that is my best guess right now. Adrien has trauma too, but we have yet to see what exactly caused it but we can suppose it is most probably in link to his mother's demise.

So, Adrien can be violent in reaction when seeing the people he deeply cares are being hurt.

EDIT : I've forgot! Chat Noir did almost Cataclysm Hawkmoth during Chat Blanc timeline after learning the truth but stopped, wanting answers.

in s4 mike was so focused on will, he didn't seem to care that much about how eleven was literally being bullied. "you basically sabotaged the whole day," mike said to will while they were trying to find eleven who was hiding because she had just been severely bullied. i thought it was angela who sabotaged the day, is it not? although mike was very successful in leading will to believe he was ignoring him, in reality he was paying very close attention to will's mannerisms. "you were rolling your eyes, you were moping, you were barely talking, you basically sabotaged the whole day." this line just proves that mike was watching will the whole time. but who was the one who skated away with his girlfriend and left his best friend to skate alone? yeah, mike. i think what happens after the skating rink speaks louder then anything else that happened. eleven hits angela with a roller skate and to that mike yells "what did you do!" which is paralleled to papa in the lab, which was also done in s1 when she made lucas fly across the scrap yard, "what is wrong with you?!" i just think it is interesting that mike was paralleled with papa twice. this shows that mike sometimes reminds her of the man who severely traumatized her, i mean is that really the man you want to be with? and when angela was talking with the paramedics, mike chose to stand next to will, instead of comfort his, obviously in distress, girlfriend. and this continues in the car when he faces will, disregarding his girlfriend, as if he was the one who got hit in the face. at home during dinner argyle and jonathan were discussing the roller skating attack, "she looks like she's gonna be fine," argyle said. "she didn't look fine," mike said as he picked at his food, clearly pissed off. to this eleven gets up from the table, another good opportunity to go comfort her, but no. that's great. he waits until the morning, abandoning will at the breakfast table, again. he brings eleven some soggy waffles. this fight doesn't sit right with me. "are we just not gonna talk about it?" you had quite a lot of opportunities to talk about it but you decided to be an asshole. "the way you looked at me, you were scared of me," eleven said while tears ran down her face. "no, that's not true," mike stuttered looking away from her. "i was surprised, maybe i was a little upset in the moment, i'm sorry i didn't know what to do," so that explains your shitty behavior? no, that explains nothing! "i care for you, so much," he says again, looking away. "care? but you don't love me anymore?" eleven asked. "who said that i didn't?" SHIFTING BLAME. nobody said that mike, why would anyone else suggest that? "you never say it." "i say it," mike LIES. he said it once, in s3, but pretended he forgot saying it when el brought it up again. "you can't even write it mike. from mike, from mike, from mike," eleven sobs as she reads the letters he sent her. "okay, eleven you're being ridiculous. what is this?" he dismisses her feelings completely. "you know what i think of you," how is she supposed to know if you never tell her? "you're the most incredible person, in the world. you can't let these mouth breathers ruin you, ruin us!" again with the shifting blame. it isn't angela's fault that you can't say "i love you" it's completely YOUR fault. so there is no point in trying to blame somebody else for your own wrongdoings. "they're nobodys, and you're a superhero," has there ever been a time that mike has complemented eleven on something other than her powers. "not anymore," el remins him. eleven has trouble believing mike loves her now that she doesn't have powers, because that's all he ever talks about.

Full caveat I am the anon from earlier (and the one frequently in your inbox 😭😭) but One of the reasons I think S4 S3 fall so flat to me is that (as many people have pointed out) the main antagonist feel goofy. Part of why ST had a environmental tilt to it was this sense of nature is not wrong, it’s those that exploit it at other’s loss which is a familiar bedrock of a lot of good media both fiction and nonfiction. But the inclusion of the Russians is so over the top xenophobic and combined with the mind flayer apparently wanting dominion for reasons unknown so much of the show falls apart. Also I forgot how off putting all the Murray Hopper Joyce scenes are, it’s such a betrayal of who the characters could be to instead cheapen their dynamic to bickering. I will forever die on the hill that the season four subgroups were a disservice to all the characters!! I know you’re still only part fo the way through but are there any groups you would reorganize in S4/S3?

Lastly the Robin and Jonathan snippet has made me very intrigued and also lmao Jonathan really is committing to his powers and the inherent nosiness of them. But ooh very curious what the dynamics of the lab are now and what the negotiations between superpowers and ~authorities~ look like. That and I love Robin being so confused about Jonathan and Steve. ( I am sadly always a little bit SteveandRobin brain rot) lastly, I’m curious if Erica Sinclair will have her moment ( I love her but I also have many many qualms with the fact that the writers made an incredibly patriotic sassy Black girl (absolutely did not defy damaging stereotypes) and then had her be the youngest and showed her facing increasing violence with somehow no characters expressing regret or concern about her (if you make it to the end of S4, I would love to discuss which characters are shown hurt and bloodied and why it’s so icky)

Hello anon, I figured you might be! :) You have good thoughts, and I'm sorry it took so long to respond to this.

And yeah. Murray...the problem I have with him is that his whole shtick is being a smug, abrasive asshole, and that he's Right, all the time, about everything, and the narrative always takes his side. If it were one or the other, or even one only some of the time and the other the rest of the time, he could be a fun character! As it stands, I find him beyond extremely punchable.

I generally found season 3 really showed the characters (and, really, everything about the show) at their flattest. It's such a Saturday-morning-cartoon version of the show's whole premise (which is an insult to some of the Saturday-morning cartoons I've watched), and it was so disappointing. The first half of season 4, at the very least, seems to be trying to lean back in the direction of what I liked about season 1, but it just gets so undermined by its own thoughtlessness and appeals to its own name recognition and black-and-white spectacle-focused storytelling. It's really just. Disappointing.

But! I have dwelled upon my disappointment in great detail. Let us instead dwell upon what might have been.

I actually think that Nancy and Robin (season 3 Robin, the OG Robin, the one, the only, the true, the original) would have been a really fun and interesting pairing, especially if they bounced off of a Steve who still isn't totally over Nancy. Robin would get so many opportunities to judge him so hard, and probably also, eventually, an understanding of just why Steve's still not over Nancy. However, I think it might have been you, actually, who proposed Jonathan and Nancy each going to surprise visit the other over spring break and crossing paths in the air, and I love that and think it's hilarious and delightful, and I want to see Jonathan and Robin get to interact, so. Somehow I would want both of these things to happen.

I also think the Byers family + El grouping was criminally underused/badly used, but in concept, it's so so good. I especially want to see more of El and Joyce! And El and Will! And honestly, also El and Jonathan, if Jonathan's allowed to have the Big Brother Energy that was such a fundamental part of his character from the jump. I don't know how to combine that with the previous idea, but I'm not the one trying to come up with a coherent TV show season.

Also I would like to see Steve and Erica get more screentime together. As of the end of season 3, she's a little would-be queen bee who's been trying hard to hide her loser tendencies but just had a horrific monster-alternate-dimension-government-conspiracy experience that's blown her popularity-obsessed persona wide open. He rode that particular roller coaster in seasons 1-2. Also it would be hilarious to see how she'd react to him trying to position himself in that big-brother-mentor role that Dustin kind of shoved him into, for her. I don't think she'd be having any of it. She has a big brother. Even if he is a nerd.

Speaking of which. This isn't season-specific. I just always want more of the ST sibling squads.

As for what's going on in former heroes...I don't want to get into too-spoilery territory, but Barb surviving the events of season 1 means that Nancy and Jonathan didn't go on a crusade to shut the lab down in season 2, which means that its crimes (or a watered-down version of its crimes) aren't widely known. And that it hasn't been forced to shut its doors in disgrace. This absolutely has an effect on the plot.

Erica, too, is definitely going to get her Moment! Honestly it did bug me, after percolating on season 3 for a while, how the show said she was ten and then never really seemed to honour that. If I'm being generous and applying Watsonian logic, I'd say that everything with her constantly jacking up her 'price' for sneaking into the vents is a way to save face, to not look like a scared little baby while still getting out of doing the scary dangerous thing, and she never expected that Steve and Dustin would be serious enough about it to actually meet even her most absurd demands. And the yelling about all the social things she's going to miss and how her mom is going to kill everyone in the elevator if she doesn't get back in time is a cry that people care about me, people will miss me if I'm not where I'm supposed to be, people will notice if something happens to me, so don't let anything happen to me because it'll have consequences for you, too, even if you don't care for my sake. It's a heartbreaker, actually.

If I'm being generous from a Doylist standpoint (which. rare), maybe they were angling for a kind of The Goonies-esque Fun Cartoonish Adventure Where Nothing Really Bad Is Ever Actually Going To Happen To The Kids? If so, I wouldn't say it worked. The whole season has a really uneasy footing with the Scoops Troop storyline, like it can't decide whether it wants to be outsized and silly and not to be taken seriously or if it wants to be nail-bitingly life-or-death dangerous (especially with the Russian basement supposedly killing Hopper in the end), and it ultimately kind of succeeds in being neither. But now we're back to complaining about the show that gave me the characters I'm gleefully dressing up and parading around like Barbie dolls, so.

And is there anything 'sadly' about SteveandRobin brain rot? I think not. That friendship was easily the best thing to come out of season 3 and I will not apologise for loving it.

okay look I won't do that to you even though that song slaps every bit as hard now as it did when I was nine.

ummmm serious answer, probably Under A Blanket of Blue by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. A few years ago, I wrote an incredibly long WWDITS fic where Nandor went on his journey and Guillermo eventually found him... I didn't finish it; s4 came out and kind of put a damper on all that, but it still has a very special place in my heart, and that was the song that I used for the title.

I had Nandor's first stop be in America and I thought... well, if I had to say one thing in America is really worth seeing, it's probably our national parks, and the Grand Canyon is kind of emblematic of that... So in the first chapter, I made Nandor take this cross-country Amtrak train so he could ~see America~ and he was still really crabby and depressed about Guillermo abandoning him and this little old lady took him under her wing and taught him how to get his frustration out via cross-stitch. I actually made a whole cross-stitch pattern for that fic, haha. But they talked to each other a lot on the trip (she couldn't sleep, so she was always up pretty late) and he learned about her life and the people she'd loved and lost and it ~really made him think~. Then he finally got to the Grand Canyon and flew out to one of the areas where people aren't allowed, right in the middle, and camped out on one of the little plateaus and looked up at the stars and felt monumentally small in a huge world. And I was thinking about that song as I wrote. It ended up becoming a thematic song for the whole fic.

Also last year I listened to it while watching a meteor shower and it was really nice. :)

Ohhh I really like this musical, and Seventeen is a banger. While the original song is beautiful and fun to sing, my favorite line is actually from the reprise, "We can be seventeen, we can learn how to chill, if no one loves me now, someday somebody will."

Because... so much of the show's message really is about the cruelty of youth and pushing through all that to be kind anyway. To find meaningful relationships anyway. And not to allow yourself to become too cruel and too cynical to find those meaningful relationships. You're not unlovable, you're just a mentally ill teenager. And even if it feels like things are untenable now, life goes on and we can make that life kinder for everyone until you do find that place you belong and the people you belong with. :')

3: A song that reminds you of summertime

Hmm. This is more an artist than anything. There's a Japanese singer that I've enjoyed since I was a teenager named Suga Shikao. I think some of his work used in anime is best known, but all of his music is really kinda chill and funky and I really enjoy it. Sooo many of his songs feel like summer. Kind of hot and sticky and slow and laid-back.

Boiling it down is difficult, but I think I'll go with 午後のパレード (Gogo no Parade -- Afternoon Parade), ８月のセレナーデ (Hachigatsu no Serenade -- August Serenade), and uh. June. That last one is about the month but also a person named June, lmao.

uhhhh well I cannot safely drive due to my tendency to pass out at random intervals, but I am a slut for a road trip and I usually end up controlling the music while we drive. This is the one I play when I want to make him laugh.

Happy Birthday, Kuroo Tetsurou!

Ahhh! It's my darling Kuroo-chan's birthday today, and in order to hype it up, I've been taking a small break from requests (I hope everyone understands) in order to post this

Kuroo has always been a character I greatly admire, not only because of his strikingly gorgeous visuals (I mean sorry mate, S4 Kuroo just reinvented the word "pretty"), but also because he's a massive nerd who manages to balance both sports, and studies, whilst being the hugest sweetheart ever.

I'm a total Oikawa kinnie, but sometimes, I find myself wishing I were more like Kuroo too.

Anyways, he deserves lots of love and appreciation, because albeit being fictional, he has brought so much comfort and love to the hearts of many, and he deserves to be celebrated.

I love you, Kuroo-chan <3

Sleeping over at his house.

Nekoma had just finished an extremely grueling practice session, and with the sky looking bleak and storm clouds threatening to pour, you hurried them to go home quickly.

“Guys, you need to go home! I don't want you caught up in the rain, so you'd better hurry.”

Yaku looked at you affectionately and ruffled your hair, leaving shortly after, and Lev and Fukuga ran out whilst screaming about something.

How chaotic, you thought fondly.

Kuroo walked over to you, concerned. He gently straightened your ponytail from behind and smiled.

“all better now, chibi-chan. Aren't you leaving too?”

You blushed. Although you were extremely close to everyone on the team, and it didn't affect you when the other members were affectionate with you, Kuroo seemed to always make your body heat up and your cheeks go warm, whenever he did the smallest of things.

“um yes, I'll be leaving now too”, you replied, softly, as you hitched your bag higher.

“Can I walk you home? I'd hate it if anything happened to our precious manager.”

You nodded silently, as Kuroo bid a quick goodbye to Kenma. That puzzled you. They always walked home together, but now Kuroo was leaving him just to walk you home?

“On second thought, you don't have to worry about me, Kuroo! I'll be fine. You and Kenma should walk home together.”

Kuroo pretended to not hear you and ruffled your hair, the same way Yaku did, pulling you along with him.

A few minutes later, you were in front of your house. You rang the doorbell, expecting your mother to be home, but only silence greeted you.

The storm clouds above grew darker with every passing minute, and Kuroo's concerned eyes were on you.

“is everything okay? Do you have a key?”

“no I don't” you confessed sadly.

You suddenly remembered that your parents wouldn't be home for the night as they've gone to visit someone, and would only be back the next morning.

They told you to take the house key in the morning, but because you were so frazzled and busy thinking about making breakfast for the team, it completely slipped your mind, all which you told Kuroo.

Kuroo immediately held your small hand in his huge one and pulled you along.

“you'll stay over with me, okay Chibi-chan?”

You wanted to refuse, seeing how you might be a burden to him, but you also knew Kuroo never made empty statements about things he didn't mean.

You gently rubbed the top of his hand with your thumb and smiled.

“thank you so much for the offer, Kuroo”

You reached his house in a few minutes, and he opened the door, letting you go in first.

“my sister should be home soon, but you should take a shower and freshen up, Chibi-chan.”

You nodded quickly, immediately cheered up by the prospect of a hot shower, and walked into the bathroom Kuroo showed you to.

He gave you a pair of pants that belonged to his sister, and an unimaginably huge hoodie.

You kissed his cheek in thanks and closed the bathroom door, already begining to shower.

Kuroo blushed softly, as he sat by his desk and began doing chemistry homework to calm his nerves.

He thought you were beautiful, and as luck would have it, you were staying over. He didn't want you to feel uncomfortable, but at the same time, he hoped this would be a good opportunity to tell you how he felt.

His fingers touched the spot where your lips had kissed his cheek, and he smiled giddily.

Meanwhile, in the shower, you were singing and slowly cleaning yourself.

When you were done, you wore the clothes, but the hoodie seemed really big. Maybe Kuroo's sister likes wearing oversized clothing, you thought to yourself.

You walked out of the bathroom feeling much more cleaner and refreshed than before, as Kuroo saw you and his cheeks immediately went red.

“Is something wrong?” you asked tentatively, feeling awkward. Do I look bad? Is it my hair?

He shook his head, and took a few clothes from a drawer, silently walking to the bathroom to shower himself.

Once he was safely inside, he gasped. How did you manage to look so adorable in one of his hoodies like that? It was almost like it engulfed your tiny frame, and yet still kept you warm and cozy.

A while later, you and Kuroo were cuddling whilst watching a movie on TV. Despite you refusing, he scooped you up in his arms, and that's how you were in his embrace, with a studio Ghibli original playing on screen.

Kuroo smiled, satisfied, as he saw your expression change with different parts of the movie, and his arms wound tighter around you.

He loved you, he really did, and he couldn't help but tip your chin to his face and look into your eyes with a deep and burning passion.

“chibi-chan, I love you.”

The movie played on, but you couldn't even focus. You only had eyes for Kuroo Tetsurou now, and in response to his confession, you gently kissed his lips.

He smiled into the kiss and continued, pulling the back of your head closer to him.

“I've been wanting to do that for the longest of times” he whispered softly as he buried his face in the crook of your neck, obviously feeling very satisfied with himself.

The two of you end up cuddling for a little while longer, just you in his arms, and him breathing in your addictive scent.

You eventually fell asleep in each others embrace.

Kuroo woke up with a slight jolt. He heard a small noise come from below and saw you cuddled against his chest, turning in your sleep. Your hair was splayed over the couch and you had the most serene expression of peace on your face.

He thought you looked so beautiful.

Your hands suddenly seemed to be roaming around for something, as you groped the couch. You eventually found Kuroo's hand, and satisfied, you held his hand closer to you, sighing softly in your dream-like state.

Kuroo was ready to spontaneously combust. You were so adorable like that. He caressed your hair and whispered soft and sweet things into your ear,

“Chibi-chan, I've loved you since the moment I met you in third grade.”

“Oh shit, we forgot to have dinner. Nevermind, I'll cook you breakfast tomorrow.”

“i'll hold you tight and keep you warm, tonight”

As he smiled whilst rambling softly, his eyes began to close, and he was soon transported to the world of dreams, just like you were.

Thoughts and Reactions to Truth!

Just going to go straight into it because this episode is huge! I really like how at the end of a season and the beginning of another, we see the same scene that leads us out of one and into another. Gabriel fixes the Miraculous and ohhh poor Dusuu thought it was all a dream, being in evil hands. So in a way, the Miraculous being damaged may have been a blessing for her. Dx Too bad it couldn't have been fixed after Marinette got it back :/ But at least Nooroo isn't alone right? Legit only positive I can get from this. ;-; Tikki and her little hats omg it's so cuuuute! I wonder if she makes her little clothes, too awww But the other Kwami's are almost like siblings to Tikki if you think about it. Now Tikki has to share things with them all as they cause chaos all around when she's so used to her quiet life alone with Marinette. Even for a Kwami, that must be hard to adjust to.

Okay so it's almost Prince Ali's birthday that Paris is going to celebrate. Interesting! I'd really like to see him back and a storyline with that. :O Marinette holding something, clearly, that the girls can't see over video chat. Talking to what appears to be herself, reacting to what someone's saying from different sides of her room. Camera flashes going off. And then her phone getting yeeted at her all on a video call with her friends when she's supposed to be alone...considering they're all going to have Kwami's and learn some things later as they become heroes, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they think back to this scene someday! OH WAIT spoiler for the upcoming episode Gang of Secrets!!! Fair warning. What if this episode with the plushies she said she's going to make, is one of if not the reason they go over and are looking around her room? Because she's been acting sus and they want to know what's going on. Especially after what happens later in the episode with Luka. Okay, back to the episode itself. Her friends observation: You're acting way weirder than normal.... IS ADRIEN AT YOUR PLACE?! I mean, fair point. xD But the thing is, whenever Marinette tends to act weirder or say/do things that Alya and the girls don't understand, it's almost always connected to her being Ladybug/Guardian. Even Lila. If she wasn't Ladybug and dealt with her so much as her, she wouldn't know a lot of things that made her not trust Lila to begin with. So Marinette has to overcompensate to try to hide everything or can't explain her thoughts or feelings about certain situations, so Alya always just assumes her behavior has something to do with Adrien. It really sucks but at the same time, what else is she going to think?

These Kwami are a lot of trouble. xD Now she's even more frazzled, so she calls Luka Adrien. More than once. I've done this where I call my siblings the wrong name more of than I'd like so I can't fault her for it. Her mind's probably a mess, poor girl. Dx "I'm sorry it's just that I cheated on you!" BIG OOF. But this gives me Kim Possible vibes when Ron assumed Kim didn't want him anymore and told her he was cheating on her when he meant to say he was cheating to be on the football team so he could be more worthy of her when he thought she wanted to "trade up" her boyfriend. Our poor Marinette! So frazzled she can't remember when her dates are, when they've been rescheduled. She can't remember her patrols with Chat Noir which are really important. She's getting to the point where it's going to be a wonder she can even function. Dx "But Marinette and I are such a big fan of his" wow this sure hits different. The way they kept quizzing each other to finish the sentence with Jagged Stone trivia was pretty cute. Luka having her finish the line with "Kiss me" that she screamed to the entire theater made me choke on my cake. "Well, if that's what you want." Smooth. "I think, yes. I want to." But you know, it gets interrupted by an akuma attack of course because that's just the way things work! :D And wouldn't you know it, it's Mr. Pigeon. AGAIN. Totally worth interrupting the moment lol Ladybug can't pick and choose, however, so here comes the sequence where she's constantly running off and he starts doubting her. Notice the parallel when Marinette started to like Luka after Adrien could never show up to things? Now Marinette's having trouble showing up and Luka's having issues with it. The second Chat Noir started to sneak up on Ladybug, we all knew he was going to get flipped. But it's so adorable and funny at the same time I love it x333 And that whole scene there of Ladynoir. Obviously it's a Lukanette-centered episode but the Ladynoir in this episode! So good! And you know, it's interesting. First time we see Adrien this episode is for FIVE whole seconds! And the way it abruptly cut off as he opened the car door... yeah you know what, Lies is going to be Adrien's POV or something of this same day. It has to be. He has 2 total scenes one of them is 5 seconds and the other one is 2 seconds. Crazy. We got about 7 seconds of Adrien's face today woo! But ugh here's where we get hurt Luka ;-; "A girl, who as always, isn't here." Ouch. The fact that if Marinette said she loved Adrien still, he'd understand and he'd get it is so sweet, and so sad that it's not even because of that, it's because she's Ladybug and the Guardian and she can't say a thing about it to him at all, that he can't accept. It's the one thing he couldn't deal with that's the issue and that really sucks. AND THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE HAD ME GASPING AND HURTING FOR LUKA. IT'S THE MOMENT HIS HEART BROKE

But also really guys, did you notice his eyes are different now? Almost like a blue diamond look or something.

Luka trying to fight it, trying to tell Hawk Moth that the truth needs to be willingly told, not forced. But stupid Hawk Moth's able to get him to hold on anyway and gets akumatized. But not before he told Marinette to run. Which was such an awwww moment. x33 I mean, this is definitely getting a bit close to Chat Blanc territory if you ask me. New transformation music is pretty good! I like it. Also can we just appreciate that instead of trying to track down Marinette to get the truth from her, he's instead asking all her friends and family, pretty much any source besides her? AND ROSE'S RESPONSE "Marinette has no secrets because she's the most honest girl in the world!" She thinks so highly of her and it's just so beautiful. Nobody would blame her for these secrets if they only knew either. But awwwwww I love this scene!! And here's the big reveal! (no not that one) Jagged Stone is Luka and Juleka's father. 😮

Thomas today tweeted that Luka and Juleka are twins. Which would have to be fairly obvious after this reveal. There's no way that Jagged, who says he'd be a lame dad and left because he wasn't cut out for it, would have Luka with Anarka, then stay long enough to also have Juleka. I also totally forgot that in the French version, Jagged has an American accent when he speaks. XDD Just the fact that even WITH his truth powers, he asked his mother TWICE who his father was. Both times she said Jagged Stone. He still didn't believe it until he went to Jagged himself omg. This poor poor boy. Luka: 😱*gasp* Marinette: 😲 *gasp* Adrien: 😮 WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY OMG. LIKE I'M WATCHING A TELENOVELA OR SOMETHING. THEY EVEN ZOOMED IN ON THEIR REACTIONS I CAN'T And then Luka just yeets his dad because he wasn't ever there for him. I honestly did not expect Luka having dad issues to ever be a thing in this show, even though I knew he wasn't around. So like... when everything's worked out with Marinette and Adrien in the end, will Luka and Adrien end up becoming friends and bonding over things, like the whole daddy issues thing...? Are we really supposed to believe she has no feelings for Chat Noir? I mean really, look at this.

"I can't imagine what your daily life must look like" ... is she really actually being the one to bring up something about his secret identity? With that face? 😲

Their flirty banter that at this point I don't even think they realize it is, and those soft looks I just... My top ship is Ladynoir and I was not expecting any significant moments of theirs but I got it anyway. Just watching their scenes, I kept going "See, this is why they're meant for each other." My heart is happy despite all the Luka pain! It's helping me cope with it, okay? "When you're ready, I'll be here for you, Marinette." Awww so they're telling us Lukanette is on hold here. Not a guarantee, but at least on hold. He's an option for her later. So now the Adrienette vs. Lukanette for S4 we heard about awhile back makes sense now. Later on this season, probably when things calm down and she gets the hang of things, she'll be in a better position to be with someone. And by then, Adrien will probably realize and understand his feelings for Marinette. So then she'll be in a position to choose between them. Now we know where Luka gets his ability to turn emotions into great songs. That's adorable! Father-son bonding! Gabriel needs to take notes when a man who was never in his son's life as more than his idol has the ability to try to be there, but Gabriel can't. Ugh our poor Marinette, probably thinking she's going to be alone for a very long time just because of a supervillain. That's so wrong she has to feel like this. If you notice, Hawk Moth's akumatizations help people patch up relationships so much of the time as a weird unexpected result of an akuma attack. And yet, he does nothing but hurt Marinette and at times Adrien, the most when he akumatizes people. He makes me so angry! But I'm too tired for a rant about that. At least the Kwami hugs at the end helped a teeny bit anyway! c:

I wasn't planning on talking about this, but ever since the trailer and the summery of episode 1 came out certain people have gone into overdrive. Pretty much all the same stuff they always say. "Hope should just dump Landon, he doesn't deserve her love and devotion" 😑😑😑 and "They made Hopes whole story just be about a boy. Why does Landon/Handon get so much screen time over all the other characters?" Etc etc.

Okay look Landon is the only one who's actaully earned Hopes love and devotion. Everyone else just acts as if they're entitled to it. With how they always treat her(very unpopular opinion I know but it's true).

Hopes story has never been all about Landon. It's always been about saving everyone else, doing what's best for everyone. Even if it means sacrificing herself and what she wants/what makes her happy. Season 3 was the first season she actively put herself and what she wants first(and even then she still was doing what was best for everyone else at times). And a part of that just so happens to be Landon because she loves him and he's the one who makes her the most happy. And in 3x05 when Hope was in the therapy box was a whole give a way. That she's just tried and done always putting herself last and sacrificing what she loves(ie Landon and what else she just doesn't want to sacrifice anymore) just to save everyone else. And I honestly don't blame her for some of the things she did in s3, not excusing what she did not at all. But at the same time I don't blame her.

Now what I'm about to say might upset some people but there's two reason why Landon/Handon gets so much screen time is bc 1. Landon is a lead and at the very core of legacies is Handons story, so of course they'll be getting more screen time. And I think 3x16 was trying to drive that home of a lot of people. As well as about a 100 other that have been shown/said throughout the show.

2. The other reason why other characters don't get much screen time or even a storyline is bc more often than not is bc the writers/showrunners just don't really care all that much for those characters. One example of that is Rafael. And as much as I love his character, you can just tell the feeling wasn't the same for them. Bc he was gone for must of s2 and when he was around they made him be all about his feelings for Hope. Same thing goes for the twins. You can just tell that they didn't really want to have them in the show in first place(even Juile herself said she didn't want the twins. But things change I guess). Because they've haven't been doing anything with their characters, they've done more with Cleo's character than they have with the twins. I think the most I've seen them do with the twins was the whole dark Josie storyline. The rest of the time their storylines have been about love interests. I'm not sure if I forgot any of their other storylines bc once s3 hit I just kind of stopped paying attention to their storylines(not bc I don't like their characters but bc their stories just kind of just keep going around in circles and I really don't want to watch the same thing over and over again). And idk if in season 4 they're going to start giving the twins and other characters more screen time/ more storylines but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

It’s just the same old thing with the antis, can they really not think of anything else to say? But yeah, everything you said. What is it Landon has to do to earn Hope’s love and devotion? You’re so right, he treats Hope far better than any of the other characters do, unpopular opinion or not, that’s the truth. He’s not done anything that’s made him undeserving of her love. And for them to even say that after he went his whole life without being loved is horrible. And I’m so tired of them saying Hope’s storyline revolves around a boy (especially when all most of them want is for her storyline to revolve around Josie), because exactly! They must not be paying attention to the show if they don’t see that Hope’s storyline has always been about her being the hero and saving everyone. Which is why them saying that Landon is all Hope cares about and all she thinks about contradicts her actions throughout the show when she has continuously been there for everyone. And yep, to the point where she has sacrificed her own happiness with Landon for the sake of everyone else. And yes, I loved Hope’s development in s3 because she was finally putting herself and her happiness first. And that didn’t mean that she no longer cared about her friends because, like you said, she was still trying to be there for them and do what was best for them too. And exactly, Landon is the one who makes Hope happy, and I felt so bad for her in the therapy box in 3x05. That really did say it all, you could definitely tell that she’s so tired and just wants to be happy for once. And same with in 3x10, when she said “we can never just be happy,” it never seems to end for her. And I don’t blame her for what she did in s3 either. And you’ve also gotta consider that everyone had pushed her into a position where she was most desperate and left with no other options. Plus she also didn’t even think Lizzie or Josie would be in danger in 3x08, and she believed they could make it until the dark magic started to infect them and then she apologized. But what she did still ultimately ended up saving Landon from the prison world, otherwise they may never have found another way if they hadn’t created a rift.

And very true about screen time for Handon. People still refuse to believe that Landon is the male lead despite Aria’s name appearing right after Danielle’s in the credits and Julie literally saying that they casted Aria to be the leading man of Legacies when he auditioned for TO. Both Hope and Landon are the leads of the show, and yep, their story is the main story, so obviously it’s gonna get more focus. And yes, that’s been made clear throughout the show.

It does seem like the writers don’t care as much about the other characters. And I love Raf too, don’t get me started on the way they treated him. And it’s so weird because it seemed like they had bigger plans for him at the beginning. It took them a while to find Peyton, if I remember right. And I thought he and Landon were gonna be the brothers of the show, it seemed like they were setting up a love triangle of sorts with them and Hope (not that I wanted that), but then, like you said, he was hardly in s2. It’s like they scrapped any plans they had for him and didn’t know what to do with him after s1, even though there was so much potential.

And yeah, same with the twins. But idk if Julie said she didn’t want the twins on the show? I just thought having them on the show, at least as mains, wasn’t always part of the plan. They had always talked about a “Hope spinoff,” no mention of the twins. Julie had said Hope and the twins wouldn’t be friends because of the age gap. And from 5x12 of TO, I’d guess they hadn’t planned on them being mains for Legacies at that point either, otherwise they wouldn’t have made the age gap so obvious. And they had no interactions between Hope and the twins either, yet they made sure to establish a relationship between Hope and Landon in that episode. So I do feel like Handon was always part of the plan and they most likely decided to have the twins be main characters later on. And that really does show because they don’t seem to know what to do with them anymore either. True, they definitely did more with Cleo last season than the twins, and I do feel like the dark Josie storyline was the last real storyline they had. And I agree, their storylines now mostly have to do with love interests, and they do feel repetitive or just like they’re not going anywhere. And people will complain about Handon being repetitive, but look at what they do with the other characters, it’s far worse. Despite there being some repetition with Handon, like with them being separated and being put through horrible things all the time, there’s still development and progression. But with the rest of the characters, I feel like there’s hardly any progression at all. I feel like they’ve even gone backwards with some of the characters as well, especially last season. I actually thought the writing for the twins, and all the characters, was pretty good in s1. I liked all the characters and was interested in their storylines, but now, especially after s3, I’m just not interested anymore. S3 really changed my mind about some of the characters tbh, mostly because of the way they treated Landon and Hope. So idk if they’re gonna give the other characters more screen time or better storylines in s4 either. But honestly, because some of the characters have kinda been ruined for me, I’m not even sure if I’d care much if they did give them more of a storyline. I’m really just watching for Hope and Landon at this point, ngl. But hopefully, for everyone else’s sake, they can do more for the other characters next season that other fans will enjoy.

I've seen the thread and the video on sm before. And I still don't understand what she did other than answer Qs when asked. THE SHOW did the baiting! Random people not liking Iris becoz of their deep seated racism is not on dp. And most of these clips, if not all of them, are from season 1&2. She simply stopped talking about Barry and Caitlin as a romantic ship. And she did her best and still does to be friendly with Candice. I don't get why Candice fans simply want dp to kiss up to cp when cp clearly doesn't want to be anywhere near her. It's hard to stand by some1 or speak up for them when they don't want anything to do with you. But she still tries to be friendly with her. In sdcc16 panel she was asked who she'd like to have more scenes with, she said, "I'd like more scenes with Candice we don't have much scenes together." And when the interviewer said it's nice to not have two woman fighting over a guy she also agreed said, "totally".

If she doesn't tweet about cp, cp fans go, "that racist bitch can't even bring herself to mention cp/iw". She was asked about how she get hate on sm, she could have talked about just that but she brings up how Candice gets a lot of hate and cp fans go, "is she saying the hate she gets and the hate cp get are the same!?!! That bitch". She mentions cp's name on interviews agreeing with what cp said, cp fans go, "she even mentioned cp's name that fake bitch!" She doesn't seem like a difficult or unapproachable person yet you guys still hate her. In sdcc19 in an intrvw Candice says, "I forgot, where do I work?" And she immediately said, "citizen". She's not like this in 1 or 2 inrvws. She's always approachable and open.

What's even more ridiculous is getting bombarded with hate because of a magazine cover head line she is not responsible for. Magazine editor's will go for the most controversial thing they can put in the front. They love drama because drama sells. It is no way the models area of expertise. EVERYONE from the cast was silent about sm hate from season 1-4, EVERYONE. But you guys unleashed the hell only on dp. She does not deserve to be demonized the way she has been over the years. The thread and the video is a prime example of childish blame game. Shentel or whatever her name is plays a silly game of kiss, marry, kill and she is called out for it? Emily doesn't mention Iris on an intrvw she has somehow undermined cp? And I don't think CL is more close to dp than cp but even she felt the need to defend dp because they(actors part of dctv) see what's going on. And how unnecessary and toxic it is. And the cast sees what's going on too. Candice gets called all sorts of things just for being black and it's borderline toxic, there's no going around it. But how is tearing down another woman who did nothing more than talk about what she's asked is standing against hate? You simply don't want her to talk about Barry which is crazy because like pretty much everyone on the show her story too revolves around Barry. But she did stop talking about him though thanks to cp fans. Since s4 whenever asked about the show she pretty much talks about kf and what's next for kf. But people find faults in that too! You can't claim to stand against hate towards one person while actively creating a toxic environment for another person on sm and act betrayed when someone so much so as speaks a sentence in her defence.

It's a long ask, sorry for that. But I'm just trying to make sense of all this, that's been going on for more than 6 years now. I used to only watch the show. If quarantine didn't happen I wouldn't have known just how toxic either side of this fandom is. And you wonder why the flash cast is "so boring and doesn't wanna share anything anymore".

Our eyes were in danger of rolling out of our heads so we figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

As it were have you gotten this out of your system yet? Because, really, you’re wasting your time. Our opinions aren’t going to change and we doubt any of our followers minds will change either and that’s mostly because we’ve been around since the beginning and what we know isn’t based on some Twitter thread or a YouTube video. Mirio: Kickin this part off with something nice and happy. This song starts with 'today I feel like running naked thought the streets' and I think that's very funny given his quirk misshapes. Anyway, he only wants to see people smile and thats the main reason this song is perfect and it's very up beat.

Tamaki: A song about anxiety for an anxious boy. But it's kinda more than that. This song is quite upbeat, by a popular band and an album with the most popular songs they've done yet not a lot of people know. You'd know it's them if you heard it but wouldn't name it off the top of your head for them. Idk, I over thought this one a lot

Nejire ⭐: It's so pumped up and positive, I can totally see her singing this just in general but also to cheer up Tamaki and it kinda sounds like her. She's definitely a Mario girl.

Shinso: Completely shifting the tone, we have a jazzy song that is another huge reason I started this playlist. It's litrally him, there is no other song possible for him! Also, The musical video is amazing, please watch it it needs all the love in the world.

Aizawa: Another anxiety ridden man mean another AJR song, I don't make the rules. Yes I do but this song reminded me of young Aizawa, thinking he was just going to mean nothing and 'Can we skip to the good part?' being now with Eri and Class 1A and not the current Manga cos I choose this song ages before hell set lose

Present Mic: This is his go to karaoke song n you can't say anything against it. 'Present Mic and Midnight bitch'

Midnight: Is sexy, would also be a karaoke song for her and feels like she's fightin' with My lady.

All might: He is here guys, did you know that?

Sir Nighteye: Okay this is a little ship-sided and like the Aizawa choice, more of the younger character feel, but I feel like when All might left, he wished his quirk could do more than just see the future and past. He would totally wish he could fix the relationship they had and platonic or romantic, that bond was close and I don't think either one turely let it rest.

Ingenium💙: Tensei, my beloved. He's all about that strong team work and honestly, i don't think this is his music taste but I could see this playing over the chase pannles with the team or just the team in general working and helping eachother.

Wild wild pussycats: Haha get it? Pussycat dolls? Yeah that was the only reason for this to start... BUT It's an old song that was popular when I was like 3 and saying that makes ppl feel old so they Ignore it much like the girls do and I think it's a nice fit. They seem like the type to have been very flashy, not camera shy, wanting all the hype in the prime and the "you just might get it" feels like Tiger mid transition not liking spotlight and later them chillin' out in the mountains.

Fatgum: He's big, beautiful and would love a big girl so like what else can I say here? Man would sing it so much, Kiri showed him it and Tamaki gets shy when they just suddenly burst into song patrolling the streets.

Best Jeanist: No one actually wants to be him and some people would say this is how he handles hate but I think he genuinely believes all haters are jealous of him.

Endeavour: I hate all the songs ppl put for him because it's always the weirdest songs. It was hard to chose a good one but this has a lot of key Enji words like 'Got my legacy set in motion' and the phase 'the bigger they are, the harder that fall' reminds me of the public's response to him

Hawks: Kay so this one was an old choice back in S4 and The start of the manga arc I won't name to keep it spoiler free but i don't want to change it. He didn't really have much choice in things he does so it kinda feels like he's venting to someone. I just think it fits his vibe too.

It's totally OK if you don't want to talk about this since it isn't your ship, but can I ask what you meant when you said you knew DE was endgame because of the way it was written? Like is it about their tropes or their scenes that made that certainty for you? I'm kind of a dummy about the craft-of-writing stuff and when I was watching TVD for the first time years ago I was convinced SE was endgame

it’s okay don’t worry! :D and I mean like... my feelings re d/elena were that it wasn’t necessarily what I was batting for but I thought the writing for it was good and like I cried when they got together forreal in s4 so like it’s not a ship I detest or anything I just was team dalaric first and foremost ;)

anyway mind that I hadn’t exactly put two and two together when watching it but when I caught up with S7-8 last year with the friend who was watching it from the beginning friend in case kind of alerted me on that like SORRY HOW DID PEOPLE THINK THAT IT WAS GONNA END ANY OTHER WAY IT WAS OBVIOUS and when I thought abt it in retrospective it was obvious I just wasn’t paying that much attention back in the day, but like tldr I’ll make it short:

usually endgame ships are not the ones you start the show with unless it’s like... idk something like the superman lois and clark show I used to watch in middle school where THE ENTIRE POINT is showing you that one couple that you know start and end together but like... for that kinda thing usually writers don’t start with the endgame ship bc otherwise the stakes are too low, but given that tvd books have st/elena endgame we could argue it’s not enough which true, but going ahead

basically d/elena was automatically set up as the will they won’t they ship plus the slow burn ship plus the enemies to lovers which regardless of what ppl say is the most obvious trope ya stuff goes for which already would start giving the kill bill sirens about where it goes, because like idk about tvd writers but if *I* wanted to write an endgame ship I would make them work for it (and we can argue that in that sense st/eroline was also... the same in the sense that you had the friends to lovers slow burn thing since S2, then it ended the way it ended but paradoxically st/eroline was written as more of an endgame thing than st/elena was if only for how much they slow burned it)

we can also argue that like... I mean take it for what it is bc I’ve seen s1-beginning of 7 while airing and 7-8 last year and my memory is what it is, but like... god I mean ya stuff with teenagers in general as mains have to do the whole BECOMING AN ADULT arc 90% of the times because they’re marketed to people who start them while they’re still teens and see themselves in the main so like while if it’s unisex or for guys you have the kid going off on adventures and shit if it’s aimed at girls it’s usually romance stuff which in this case means that main has to end up as an adult woman blah blah blah and in that sense... like stefan is obviously in the show the initial *safe* choice that she immediately likes and looks good and like the obviously easy lovely nice person to be with - let’s say more like a comfort zone kinda deal? - while damon is like I DON’T KNOW THIS GUY HE’S EVIL HE’S DANGEROUS SHOULD I TRUST HIM OR NOT HE’S HOT BUT HMMM and then turns out that it’s not as easy as that (and I appreciate the show was... very not stereotypical about it let’s just put like that) but basically stefan is loveydovey teenage safe relationship material and damon is adult complicated TRUE LOVE BUT I HAVE TO WORK FOR IT material (from elena’s pov ofc) which... has a more satisfying payoff as an eventual endgame bc in picking damon elena basically becomes an adult which is also paralleled with her being a vampire - like she’s a human with stefan and a vampire with damon before the whole cure thing but you see where I’m going at, like it’s all about symbolism;

that’s talking about elena but like basically from damon’s pov they also wrote the thing as.. his endgame because like idk if it’s gonna make sense but the moment you look at how both stefan and damon relate to elena, and I’m saying this as someone who back when airing was absolutely into st/elena and was lowkey rooting for it until I realized it was dead and gone and then I just went like WELL D/ELENA AND ST/EROLINE ARE GOOD SHIPS FINE THEN so this is hardly st/elena bashing on my side or anything, like... for damon it’s a lot more high stakes to be with elena than it was for stefan? like okay they were in love in the beginning but the way damon is into elena is a lot more all-encompassing on his side and you can see that in loving elena he also gets rid of his katherine-related trauma (which like... damon has more katherine-trauma than stefan like ofc stefan has katherine trauma too but damon beats it) because he manages to leave her behind and like.. stefan didn’t have those stakes with elena? and like the fact that his feelings for elena are framed in extremely romanceworthytragical-like terms (I mean I didn’t even ship it and I cried at that scene in what S2 episode 9 where he compelled her to forget stuff like... that shit is written like GREAT AMAZING ROMANCE STUFF in comparison to how st/elena was written) and that they had to work for it (bc there was the compulsion thing first then she forgot him then she was *dead* blah blah blah) put a lot more emotional payoff in the eventual endgame that it was than if damon had died, stefan had stayed single etc, like... they didn’t set up st/elena as the ship that had to overcome trauma over trauma to stay together while with d/elena they did, so XD

like tldr all of d/elena’s interactions in retrospective were written the way you write The Romance Of The Show and if the writers didn’t intend it from the get go then they look better than they actually are

also I can add that back when I watched this movie I hadn’t seen gone with the wind, which the friend in question had seen, and I was bluntly told ‘sorry in that scene in S1 where she dances with him at the school thing and she comes down the stairs they were framed exactly like scarlett and rhett in gone with the wind and you’re telling me it wasn’t meant to be endgame’ so there’s that too X°D
