I think it's so interesting to think about the unique social implications of things on the islands. Like, the animal hats & how they originally existed for the practical purpose of protection & they kept wearing them even after that wasn't a factor anymore. & how the hats we see in the present day (when Finn & co visit the islands) don't really resemble animal hats, do they? & maybe that's just to make the significant human characters (who do still wear animal hats) seem more distinct but you best believe I'm going to make it into something bigger. Oh I'm so bad at putting my thoughts into words but it's something how the hats evolved into a new meaning. & when robo susan rips friedas hat off its like a very violating moment. Something something hats, the lack thereof, vulnerability. I don't know. Sorry. I was going somewhere with this but I don't know how to explain it. You get it though. Hats are interesting.

I like to think that (when everyone got sick and lots of them died and the rest moved to a new island) there was a bunch of small shifts & the animal -> abstract hats was one of them. And Frieda still wearing her dog hat shows her still holding onto the past in some way. There we go, that's something. This isn't a total nothing post after all

Ok so originally we met in UA bc I was also a class 1A student and I didn’t really have any feelings for him at first but he grows a big fat crush on me very quickly. And it’s kinda obvious to the whole class so that’s something that ashido and jirou love to tease me about (in private) but I just think it’s really cute of him. He’s always so flustered and stuttering whenever he has to talk to me. Even if it’s just to tell me I dropped my pencil (he’s so cute 🥰)

But as the years go by, I start to reciprocate his feelings and idk if it’s bc I keep getting teased about him crushing on me or if it’s bc he’s slowly become more daring and comfortable around me, enough to flirt with me occasionally, but I accept my feelings for him anyways bc how could I not. Also definitely think he saves me from dying at some point in our time in UA and I think I’d be lovestruck for at least a week if it was one of those situations where I was falling and he swooped in and caught me in his arms seconds before my death ajshskaka ANYWAYS he is just too loveable. His selflessness, his bravery, his intelligence, his nerdiness, his everything is just so 💕✨💖💫💗💞✨💖

So in that au we both have quirks obv, although to this day I have not come up with a quirk I’m satisfied with 😔 (it’s always either too overpowered or too weak to realistically get me into UA) so that’s something I still need to work on.

HOWEVER recently I’ve been dreaming up a different au where we don’t meet till after graduation and he becomes a teacher. But we still meet at UA!! Just this time we’re both teachers hehe. I like to believe UA has a class for costume design in their department of support and that’s the class I’d teach bc in this au my quirk is related to fabrication. Still don’t have specifics on it but I know I want it to be useful in that sense.

Anyways we meet on the first day of school in the staff room and he sees I’m nervous so he asks me to join him for lunch later that day and that begins our friendship that quickly turns into something more. By the end of the semester the whole school is shipping us together. It’s simultaneously cute and annoying bc I obv don’t mind my students gushing about how Mr. Midoriya walked me to my classroom even tho his is across the school campus, but it’s annoying when they start interrupting class to ask questions about if we’re dating or not.

We’re not dating (yet) but in a few years he asks me out by sending one of his students to my room with a mini gift basket with chocolates and a cheesy note. One that’s like “will you go out with me?” with a yes or no option for me to check. And ever since then it’s become a thing where he sends one of his students over to my class to deliver a mini gift with a love note just to remind me he’s thinking of me. (This is inspired by my old ap stats teacher back in highschool who did this for his wife who worked in the art department. It was soooo cute)

I actually really want to write a fic about this au bc it has me twirling everytime I think about it but I wanna finish the manga first. Hopefully soon tho!!

What bothers me about the whole good/bad taste in music thing, is that art, and music in particular, is so deeply personal. It is meant to make you feel something, so it’s going to be different for every person. I have a good friend who is super into the sound and production of an album, whereas I care much more about lyrics. There are times that he absolutely loves an album that I hate and vice versa. Neither of us are wrong, we just resonate with different things.

I’ll always love FOB and Taylor Swift, because their lyrics consistently give me FEELINGS and that’s what I want out of an album. If previous anon has some music recommendations, I’d love to hear them. I just think it’s so weird to feel superior about something as subjective as music taste.

I actually do not want to invite the previous anon to share music recommendations, and like maybe that's snobby but I don't care what they like having insulted me.

I was thinking more about that last night 'I love you but-' and how in the moment I was annoyed because you don't know me, so you obviously don't love me.

But my best friend in the whole world/platonic soul mate DOES love me and you know what she hates? Fall Out Boy. And when I was trying to find someone to go with me when they announced their tour, she was like, I'll go. Just like Taylor Swift, who she's also not a fan of (she asked me if I would dress her at brunch last week and I'd never been happier) (when the first date came by and we had a set list, I sent it to her and she's been memorizing all the songs). She was like, tell me what to wear and what songs I need to know.

Don't tell me you love me and then insult me or try and make me feel bad when I know what love feels like and how the people around me respond to not enjoying the same things as me. It's actually very possible to like different things without being a snob about it
