I was rewatching mouthwashing, and I ended up thinking of the different reactions that Curly and Jimmy had in doing their tasks. How during the scene of Anya evaluating Jimmy and showing dread towards the idea of doing his evaluation, Curly was the one that offered to take it off her hands. He had no issue with adding more to his plate, because he knew - or well, thought, he knew that Jimmy wasn't going to "bullshit" with him since he's known him for a long time. When Anya hands Curly a note from Swansea, Curly goes to check out what the issue is and he takes care of it without a complaint, the only "complaint" he has is how this incident could have damaged the pods. Which is reasonable, those pods are their only way to be saved if anything tragic happens on the ship. However, in comparison to Jimmy being asked to do things, he's passive-aggressive about it. When Anya asks Jimmy if he could help her out with Curly's painkillers, he tells her that people should be worth their titles, specifically using her title as a nurse when she asked him for help and then when she says forget it, since he made her feel insecure, he still goes "Oh no, I'LL take care of it" as if he was doing a chore, a favor for her. Then, there's that part where he blows up at her for things that she didn't even ask him to do - more so the others asked him about it, like the code scanner, him deciding he needed to find the axe for the foam, and then, there's the medicine part (which when she does ask, and she reconsiders - going to do it herself, he takes that away from her). Jimmy complains about the tasks he has to do and he treats it like a big issue, a "woes me" that he has to do this and that - wanting the praise of the capital without actually doing any work. While Curly doesn't complain about it, in fact, he even mentions that he's aware of how well he is doing at his job as a Captain during that cockpit scene with him and Jimmy. If Jimmy only had to do a small amount of tasks to get irritated and annoyed at being captain, while Curly didn't which I feel like encapsulates their personalities. Curly understands what he's doing is a job, it's a responsibility, why would he complain at any point for doing what he's suppose too? Why would he be upset at people asking him to do tasks? While Jimmy on the other hand, isn't used to it at all and it's different to what he's had before and he's realizing that he doesn't actually like doing the work he has too. I just wanted to ramble about it even if it seemed kind of obvious xd

It’s obvious but it is a thing people miss or understate when trying to find parallels in Curly’s and Jimmy’s relationship/personalities.

Like the way people portray it as neither taking responsibility when it is almost split down the middle of Curly taking responsibilities and faults that shouldn’t be his and making himself unequipped to handle the ones that are while Jimmy refuses to handle the responsibilities he has because he wasn’t expecting the work that comes with them.

Not a lot to say but people forget that another thing the game comments on is prioritization of issues and responsibilities and how the guys fail at it in one way or another in the situation.

I love your art style, especially how energetic it is! How did your art style get such dynamic lines? Do you have any tips/advice/ideas on how to do that?

Thank you! Um... I'm not sure how to go about it, but I’ll try and give some tips on line confidence. I think my main advice would be to not let your sketch box you in- keeping it at a really low opacity so that your eyes don’t get used to seeing it with your line art when you draw over it (having your sketch opacity too high can give a different impression of your line work), leaving room to exaggerate or play around with fresh lines in the next phase.. It’s easier to do when you’re confident in your subject, so the sketch should be stable enough to convey that, but have fun with the process otherwise! For me, good line art comes out when I’m actively finding ways to build off the sketch’s energy while lining it, not when I’m trying to limit myself to it/already 100% happy with what it provides.

Here's a bit of a visualization! When going from the sketch to the line art, I was thinking that I could improve the flow of the cape, so I made the upper part less flat and balanced its curve with the bottom to keep the energy flowing. The slope of Kalim's pose could balance the curve of Jamil's sarouel, so I leaned into that when putting down the lines for Kalim's. Meanwhile having some areas be more linear helps give contrast. Line of action, straights against curves, etc. (I think this is delving more into gestural talk now) I'd recommend studying artists whose linework you enjoy too! Kaisen_Tobiuo was-and still is- a big inspiration of mine growing up for how expressive their works and line art felt. Also study naruto fanartists they're cracked It ended up being a bit of a ramble, but I hope this could help op!

Oh wait what if in your rise AU he got the motivation to train to future mikeys level because the kraang shattered his swords, which is why he is such a glass cannon in your AU. In most media powerful wizards need to use a medium to safely perform powerful spells, and the Hamato’s are shown repeatedly in the show that they need a weapon to safely use their clans mystic arts.  The reason I believe they need to do that is because if for some reason a spell backlashes/goes wrong what would you rather have get destroyed a piece of wood/weapon or your hand. Your Leo might as well be made of porcelain

Okay so this response is ridiculously late but I wanted to get back to thinking on this after I spent some time actually rethinking and planning the AU.

I really like the idea that he's sort of "made of porcelain", where he uses his own body as his katanas at this point. Leo could've just gotten used to the idea that his body is literally torn apart every portal or time he uses his abilities, and finds out he more he scarifies of himself, the better reward or strength.

Leo eventually becomes so uncaring towards the side effects, that he doesn't care what happens so long as he wins each battle. This will certainly cause a lot of fights later on with his siblings once they catch on that his current state could've been prevented.

killer made a fake beginner art account on tiktok by tracing over horror's (arguably shitty) art and claiming it was hers

killer made fake unsafe stimboards on tiktok but the unsafe content was just quick jumpscares of her face

she posted about her knife collection on twitter and people dogged on her for having so many and being an over consumer

she livestreamed her bothering cross on tiktok live with some pretty deep cutting remarks and then in retaliation cross shoved her away and killer jokingly fell but then it turns out she actually fell pretty badly and broke her arm

while in the hospital killer made an apology video for the knife collection thing (not adressing literally anything else) and just used that video to explain to everyone that she was rich and broke people should never laugh. and then at the end of the video she put a video of her showing off more of the knife collection

killer got doxxed and then doxxed the other person back and posted their adress on all of her social medias. this went back and forth until her account passwords got leaked and for a day people logged into her account until she changed the password (a whole other spiel,,,,,)

people forgave her for all of this in current day because looking back at it it was ngl funny and 2020 was a crazy time. killer has definitely gotten more mature from doing dumb shit like pissing off cross and doxxing people tho but havent we all 😇😇😇
