I mean. It makes sense that he wouldn't be able to see them with his eye fixed on his front towards the stars. Do you think that maybe he only saw his mother face as she was burning alongside the world he lived in but never got to know?

Do you think he never saw them at all? Do you think that maybe. Just maybe he looks into the mirror and wonders if he even looks like them at all?

Maybe he had them described at one point or another and has vague ideas on what they looked like. Chances are that he wouldn't know what they looked like from the front like him. Maybe he wonders if he may have mixed up details over the years and has completely forgotten what they looked like as he slowly forgot details and desperately tried to replace them with something else theseus' ship style?

A slightly sillier HDG musing while I'm listening to Casiopea and have been struck with a lightning bolt of inspiration from on high.

Y'know how it's not uncommon for the Accord to mention stuff about Compact propaganda? I can't help but think that must be... difficult to actually make, partially because of floret involvement, but also because of the Affini genuinely struggling to work out exactly how to make the results palettable for the intended purpose.

Picture the scene. A film set of sorts, scaled to Affini-size - and while everything's being managed by Affini, the pedestal in the centre has a little step-stool behind it, atop which the "presenter's" floret is stood - slightly hazy-eyed, a silly grin on her face, looking and waving into the camera.

The camera crew have already failed a couple of takes from some of the operators cooing things like "Gosh, she's so cute~!" behind the scenes, and it's kind of messing up the recording quality, but finally - a quiet take! Her Affini explains what the tape's for, and gets her floret to say the single line she was told to remember...

...and she's forgotten it. So, she ad-libs, in her mindhazed state, and starts rambling almost incoherently about her favourite floret-cut game, and how she's been working on building a lovely little farm and it's got lots of pretty flowers that kind of remind her of Mistress, and that Mistress is super pretty and she feels a little hazy when she looks into her eyes, and then looking upward to see that loving, adoring expression looking right down at her...

The footage is barely usable. Sure, it's broadcasted anyway - the whole thing was far too precious to be hidden away in a film vault somewhere - but it's not exactly comprehensible.

Oh well. Better luck next time. :)

since Tania is Metal Sonic, and canonically Sage, Orbot & Cubot, and Belle the Tinkerer are canoncially younger siblings to Metal Sonic. By that logic, Tania is their older sister (and by extension, Sonic is ALSO the eldest brother). How would the egg sibling react to that information?

Unrelated, but since sonic characters have their names be descriptive (such as Knuckles having sharp knuckle gloves, Tails being two-tailed, Espio as in espionage, etc.). Does that mean that Tania's name stands for TI-TANia (as in titanium) that foreshadows her robotization?

So, when Metal was unaware of their true existence while under Eggman’s control, they were never all that close to Orbot and Cubot for reasons they couldn’t explain themselves, but were much closer to Sage. They may not know the true reason why, but I think that Metal and Sage’s bond is tied into their sense of humanity. Metal doesn’t know that they were actually roboticized, and throughout the plot of Sonic Frontiers, Sage was kind of having a little bit of an identity crisis. Their key difference however that keeps their bond from growing too close is the sense of realness in their humanity. At the end of it all, Sage herself is truly one of Eggman’s creations, through and through. But Metal isn’t. So when it comes time for Metal to learn the truth, Sage stays by Eggman’s side. Although, even if she may not know exactly what Metal is going through, she lets them go. And who knows, maybe she’ll try to help them in the future. Regarding how Belle would play into the story, I like to believe that their first interaction in a long time is a while after Metal escaped. At this point, Tania is trying her best to heal, so although Belle may be a bit wary of them for a while because of their past interactions with Metal, she knows that this time something is different. I feel like their relationship could possibly grow into something sisterly. Metal was created by the evils of Dr. Eggman, Belle was created by the good nature of Dr. Tinker. I wonder if they could bond over that!

Regarding the name thing, that’s actually a really interesting take! Apparently, the name Tania is a shortened version of the name Tatiana or Titania, meaning fairy queen. I feel like the true meaning of her name combined with that concept of it being foreshadowing is really cool! Very good contrast between what she once was, careless and free, versus what she now has to be. Trapped.

Yo just out of curiosity, when does your (totally awesome) SPM comic take place? Is it meant to be a direct sequel to the movie, or have they had more adventures between the events or the movie and the events of your comic?

Thanks! It's not a direct sequel. I imagine that... like you said... they've had a couple of adventures between the events of the movie and what goes on in my comic (which means few extra nuggets of trauma that Dimentio gets to use against Luigi in his mindscape.)
