the weird stigma surrounding wiccanism/paganism/herbalism/witchcraft/etc. gets kinda disgruntling. as someone who used to explore it, i always thought of it more of a state-of-mind thing, meditation and what not. paganism (which i’ll use as an umbrella term for the aforementioned practices) offers a lot of freedom for those who take it up: you worship in your own way, there are loose customs but you can basically do what you like as long as it feels right to you. and you don’t even have to worship, if you don’t want to. you have the choice to be secular/atheist. not to mention, there are plenty of pagan practitioners who don't necessarily believe in deities, or magic, but have chosen to dabble in it for their emotional and mental well-being, and this does help them. or they enjoy the historical aspect of it and want to revive it, seeing as how organized religion came and either wiped out pagan cultures or hijacked their customs. it has its misguided practicioners, of course, but what belief system doesn’t?

i’m just tired of people seeing anyone with this lifestyle and being like “wow what a kook lol” because it’s not a widely practiced thing. go to a church and watch people eating those shitty wafer things and getting flicked with water and tell me how that’s different

very upset angrypost incoming sorry i needed to get this out. found the most heinous fanfiction today like it legitimately made me mad irl. a lot of‏‏‎ ‎proship‏‏‎ ‎bullshit just makes me roll my eyes and move on now but i hope this person never gets access to a computer again i feel hot blooded violent rage. "we have never met and never will but i HATE you" is an emotion i normally reserve for billionaires and my least favorite celebrities but good god the anger in me is BOILING for this person.
