can i be real with yall i kind of hate fandom assigned siblingisms because often it’s just used as a signifier of closeness rather than an exploration of any of the things that make siblings narratively interesting imo. and i think a lot of that comes down to the fact that people enjoy the fantasy of relationships that are “naturally” eternal, ie, intimacy without having to do The Work. and i will never shame anyone for indulging a fantasy through fiction, this is just not something that really works for me. where siblings become compelling, imo, is within that unique “eternity” (whether societally imposed or genuinely forged in childhood and blood) and its power to trap and hurt. where the people involved don’t do The Work, or The Work they do isn’t enough. they’re tied together but some wounds take a long time to heal—if they ever do. wounds that they share, or wounds that they inflict on each other

By unfortunately popular demand today I will be tackling Lily Orchard's terrible TTS Utena "parody" at 2pm EST.

Here's a better look at the thumbnail!

It's gonna be another Tequila Rose drinking stream just like the Somerton and Lily bad Utena takes react double feature!

I love the whole setup of the cake. Akio and Anthy are standing side by side, but Akio puts his toy between Utena and Anthy, and Anthy's toy is smaller than his. Giving an illusion of Akio and Anthy being equals but Akio making his representation bigger then her. Utena is slightly tipped showcasing what Akio sees as his dominance of her.

Juri, Miki, Saionji, and Touga's toys are in the second layer of cake, almost to the top, but the layer above them surrounds all of them. Keeping them firmly in the second layer.

Miki and Juri have also been completely knocked down compared to Utena, which suggests Akio sees absolute victory over them. They are blatant conquests.

Touga is also slightly tipped like Utena but is balanced by the little Saionji figure. Showing Akio holds dominance over him but Saionji is acting as his support. (I find it funny Akio is aware of this to put it on the cake.) Though I suppose its sinister since Akio probably intends them to end up like Juri, Miki laying on the cake eventually.

Poor Nanami is in the very bottom of the cake her arms and waist trapped by the icing no mobility and no chance to reach the top.

oh god i never noticed that in miki's flashbacks kozue's hair is curled like anthy's, but in kozue's flashback to the same scene her hair looks like it does in the present day...

I think it's really funny that people have incredibly philosophical literature deep analysis takes about this show, that make you cry and question everything you know about storytelling, because right before reading this I sent my group chat a picture of the main character eating a lithium ion battery with the caption "my yummy snack!"
