I think I accidentally wrote a new story-this wasn't supposed to be a 4 minute read
The chainsaw felt suddenly heavy in his hands. At least it didn't land on his feet. He breathes heavily staring at Po's corpse and the hair he lost in his fight with her. It's still fairly long, so he won't complain much.
His pale eyes pan over to where he saw Noo-Noo last and emitted a surprise noise.
Did he escape while Guardian was distracted with Po's huge spider form? Or maybe the half bot never intended on taking Po with him.
He opens his mouth to ask Laa-Laa (she had been standing back, yelling at him to just run into the station) if she saw where Noo-Noo went.
But instead he screamed in surprise.
This was due to a sharp pain hitting his back, his hoodie was pretty old and worn out so it didn't protect much from whatever entered his back.
There was little he could do to stop the person from shoving him forward. Due to how tired his body is from the fight.
He dropped the chainsaw so he could try to catch himself on the dirt.
The hat went flying off his head.
They continued to hit him with the sharp object. Guardian's leg tried to kick at the person but a different kind of pain shot through his body when a hand roughly grabbed his antenna.
"OW! FUCK!" He never usually swore but surely this was a reason.
They smacked his head on the ground for several moments while he struggled but the pain in his head made it hard to focus.
For fucks sake, why won't he die?!
The yellow Teletubby lets him roll over, he insultingly looked shocked. His nose bleeding from when she was smacking his face against the ground.
Does he really expect me to be okay with him killing one of my friends?
Laa-Laa stabs his throat with her sharped rock that she had been holding onto the whole time. She truly wasn't intended to kill him at any point when they left the Outskirts.
But that changed.
She stabbed him repeatedly in the chest while her mind raced.
I'm literally killing a Teletubby.
I don't need him anymore.
She tightens her jaw and tries to push away the feeling that rose up at that thought. A light sense of relief climbs up her shoulders once she notices he's stopped moving.
Laa-Laa backs off from his body, heavily breathing, her hands shaky. Her vision going blurry with tears, she felt like she was going to...faint.
Anne didn't know what to expect at the station, it took forever for them to leave due to Miles insisting he needed to find his one-in-kind boots, but two-technically three-bodies.
"...Is that a fucking spider?" To be fair, the red body was the most obvious due to how huge it is.
Anne cautiously approaches the other two. She didn't need to look too closely to see if the dirty looking form was alive. Very clearly dead.
But she could tell the yellow form is breathing, just passed out. She picked up her unconscious body in one arm and only then noticed the bloody weapon.
It could be possible she is the reason why this guy is dead. It's not easy at all to tell what the motive would be. The only way to find out is questioning.
She walks back towards the other soldiers.
"What about the other one ma'am?" One of them was most likely eyeing the dead one, though unclear through the helmet.
"His throat and chest is bleeding, he ain't alive." She sets the passed out Tubby inside the helicopter. "This one seems to be the only survivor here." She doesn't bother mentioning the sharp rock.
A green blur rushes past her into a seat. "We need to get the Fucking out of here." Miles huffed and puffed as if he ran ten circles around the base.
"Why, is the spider actually alive?"
Conor follows behind, though not small enough to be a blur. "There's no time to explain, we'll be dead if we stay here."
Anne was baffled at what was making these two run so fast but Conor being worried about looming death convinced her to get into the front seat. The others climb in, a bit confused at the situation.
That is until they were high in the sky, looking down at tiny creatures stumbling over the hills.
"Come on you two, you're scared of tiny monsters?"
"Perhaps you missed the amount of tiny monsters?!"
"I passed math, I can see 'em just fine."

SPOILERS FOR GOTG VOL. 3 - DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT YET!
I have a feeling that everyone (who calls themselves fans) that didn't get the meaning of the ending in GOTG Vol. 3 has never read a single comic of them or is only a fan of some characters/relationships. Many complaints I've seen are about the end and Gamora and Peter’s romance, which sounds kind of childish. You don't need to agree with me, but I’d like to elaborate on that.
James Gunn's writing is always about the detail of things and he is not afraid to do something “bad” if it is the best for the STORYTELLING. This is what most of these people don't get: the most important part of these movies is the story they are telling. The characters help the movie tell the story, it's their story after all — but there's no protagonist or greater good that puts them above the narrative.
(This is different from Gamora’s death in IW btw. It was not the only way they had to make the story flow; they just wanted to “humanize” Thanos and by that, they chose to kill her character. It was an action ADDED not CRUCIAL to the story.)
Vol. 3 is about found-family and growing up; finishing cycles. They will always be family, as we will always be part of their story (that’s why we understand Groot now). However, life chapters end just like in real books, and these Guardians as a TEAM “chapter” has ended for them and for us.
This is very common in the comics. Most times they are all separated, doing solo missions, until something goes wrong and they reunite again. They never stop being friends, why would it be different in the movie universe?
But the end suggests they are not family anymore.
Did we see the same film? No, it doesn't. We can see that in James’ subtle writing: the way they all still respect each other, their understanding of one another, and how they all would die for themselves if needed. That won't change just because they are not physically together — just like when you finish school you won't ignore your best friends, even if you create new relationships (which you will).
But Gamora is not part of the family anymore.
Well, if you see it this way, I can't change your mind. What I can say is that the story IMPLIES that she still is, in fact. And the number one clue is that she (in 2 days) understands Groot. Remember, we also understand him because the fans are now part of the Guardians family — so understanding him and being family are correlated.
Anyhow, I know this is not enough for most people, so hear me out: Gamora’s arc is about respect and healing. She starts the movie skeptical about working with the guardians — she just wants the money— when in reality, she acts like this because she is AFRAID and feels PRESSURED to be around her “old” family.
Imagine: you died but then another version of you comes back without knowing anything of your present life. People will expect you to act in a certain way that maybe you started to act after you met them; they will expect you to like certain things you don't know of; people will EXPECT you to attend to their needs. It is a lot to swallow at once. You are afraid because you don't know them, you don't think you deserve all this love and commitment out of nowhere. So you run away. You run away to find things on your own, to grow out of this pressure you feel and discover the whole universe of possibilities you have ahead.
That's what Gamora did. But then, the mission went south and now she is stuck with her “old” team. The film shows us her character exploring the ship, listening to music... trying to understand them. At one point she even says to Rocket “You must be a very loyal pet for them to do all this for you” (or something similar). This is her way of putting into words how she visualizes the current scenario she was put in. Slowly she recognizes that they are a family, and by the way they act she finally gets how and why she also must have loved them in the past.
She goes from “I don't give a fuck”, not open to them, afraid and pressured to “I bet we were fun”, understanding and respecting them, even fighting for their family to survive.
(If she still didn't give a fuck she wouldn't have fought for them and with them when she could have just run away again.)
But she has already created new relations, so she goes back to those for now. It is what she is familiar with in this timeline. Does that mean she will never contact the guardians ever again? NO. Remember: James’s writing is about DETAILS, nuance. She is open to them again, and the final part of the movie shows this to us, especially her last interaction with Groot, Peter, and Nebula being friendly.
Oh, but Peter and Gamora will never be a couple again, their romance ended when she went back to the Ravengers.
… Again, if you see it this way I can’t change your mind. What I can confirm is that she doesn’t close herself to the team — especially to Peter — in the end.
When she says “I bet we were fun” it's the first time she acknowledges their former relationship without distancing herself from it. She could've said “I bet you were fun” or “I bet she was fun”, but instead she prefers to include herself with “we”. She pauses before letting go of Nowhere, stopping before entering her ship — what moves her forward is Nebula, who can see her sister’s changed attitude but still encourages her to take a step forward and go explore the galaxy, because she knows Gamora is not mature and ready yet for those feelings; just like she wasn't ready to be openly sentimental when Gamora joined the Guardians back in 2014.
And Peter is also not ready. Just like Gamora needs to find herself again and discover who she is, Peter needs too. He is lost without her after IW, we can see it during Holiday Special and in the beginning of Vol. 3 when he passes out because of alcohol abuse. Both don't know who they are in this new reality — and they will only find out with time. Time heals and reveals.
In the end, Peter doesn't have the same thought as in the begging: he doesn't want her to be who he once knew, he wants her as she is, this new version whom he still loves so much and wants to know more of. Although he wishes she could stay, he knows that she has her own time and while she learns about herself he will go do the same.
So yes, they’re not explicitly together as a couple in the final scene — neither they kiss nor make out, whatever you believe a relationship is made of — but they’ve changed and are open to one another. The last scene does not appear to me as an “I’ll never see you again”, but as a “Goodbye, see you soon”.
(Aside from all the small bits we had through the movie of a developing relationship between them; my favorite one being when Peter activates the auto-destruction code and Gamora smiles at him.)
Besides, you can't force anyone to fall in love in 48 hours!!
Yes, I also have some minor complaints about the story, but I can recognize that — with all the turbulence the characters and the production faced in the last few years — it was a satisfying end with a limited amount of time to a badass trilogy. The end is definitive but also open to future possibilities for all our favorite characters in their universe — some we might never see and it will only be to our imagination.
Again, you don't need to agree with me, but I had to do this, or else I would implode with thoughts. Thank you if read up here! My ask box is open if you want to talk more <3

Dumb Choice V. 1
Greygold could totally take on their team 1-9. Totally. With 8+ summons and carrying a 10-year-supply of inventory items, Greygold IS the BBG babe's love fight don't count because Greyg didn't wanna fight shh
As much as I don't like where this fork-in-the-road went, boy did I have a lot of time to mull over why squid buddy called it quits. And I couldn't pick just one reason ✨
So let's kick it up a notch with the survival theory.
After hearing how certain mindflayers get the instinctual hankering to be a lil shit that sometimes they gotta roll a dice so as to NOT be a lil shit....
What if. Maybe squid buddy's mindset wasn't just being dead stubborn about surviving, but the exhausted-flayer's survival instincts kicked in. Maybe there was poor communication because Emps was in panic mode, wits at an end, fear on overddrive, every doubt collapsing in on itself, stuck-in-a-corner mode, eye-for-an-eye contemplation, fight-or-flight response overriding any other sensible dialogue options that were available for them.
Maybe Emps failed their don't-be-a-lil-shit roll
And since squid buddy didn't uh....want to repeat the fight response like with Ansur, for various reasons, reacted with flight instead
Funny story, I drew this a while back as a 'fun' theoretical possibility, but been realizing more recently ehhhhh-Emps really coulda just killed us all right then and there (not withstanding Halsin and Jaheira). If Emps had the ability to turn off the mind-protection after you stray too far from the mission, then they coulda done the same thing to everyone now. So if Emps really had a "no more use for us" mindset like a certain mindflayer book says they do, fleeing wasn't necessarily the only way for Emps to survive.
Maybe. Emps was about to react in a way they knew they were gonna regret again and eeehh- counter-reacted by noping the fuck out. For Greygold, I like that theory. Squid Buddy: jumping the gun like a dramatic tired mindless-flayer

ok but what i love abt gotg3 is that the big task that all superheroes need to accomplish in a film for the Greater Good (e.g. gotg 1 it was stopping ronan, endgame was defeating thanos) wasn't actually for the Greater Good, it was to save a friend. like in so many films its like i have to save the world or whatever but gotg3 shows that one person can be worth the world. and ofc when push comes to shove they work for the Greater Good but that wasn't the purpose. the purpose was to save a friend. this film isnt abt superheroes being superheroes .its abt friends being friends.

GOTG3 SPOILERS
Whenever Rocket stands before the cage, staring at the baby raccoons, it's not only the reality that, hey, he is a raccoon, but it's facing everything he had been through. You can see the thought process happening on his face. These sweet innocent creatures, everyday trying to exist. They weren't disgusting or vile or an abomination. He wasn't disgusting or vile or an abomination. He, just like the baby raccoons, was just existing, until someone decided to change that state of existence
It's the revelation that the High Evolutionary harmed him when he was a baby. When you're young, you don't really know how young you are, and besides the time spent with Lylla and Teefs and Floor, playing hide n seek, he didn't have a chance to be a child, to be a baby. He always had to be something for someone else, even if that someone was himself. He had to be brave and tough and resilient for himself, too. It's the realization that the High Evolutionary took from him not only the comfort of not being sentient, from dull to way too vibrant, but also took from him his kit hood, and he wasn't going to let the high evolutionary do that to these young kits.
It's a moment of connection and realization. He was so young. He didn't even realize it. It's probably even harder realization now that he is a dad.
It's a startling realization and it starts him into action.
He's quickly grabbing all of the baby raccoons he can, bending down, picking them up, putting them on his shoulders, holding them in his arms, and then, as soon as the high evolutionary rounds the corner, he ushers them off. He takes his hands and scoops them down n off his body, ready, willing, to take the brunt of whatever force.
It's reminiscent of how he protected Groot's body in endgame; shielding as much of Groot, his son, with his own body, to protect him from harm. He's shielding and protecting these baby raccoons, not only because they showed him his reality before the torture, the sweet innocence, (and how could somebody hurt these creatures? -Rocket's thought process), not only because they too could've gone through what he went through, but because they're kits, they're babies.
I just love Rocket, his arc, his development, and this scene really shows so many aspects of Rocket himself. His bravery, and courage, and his willingness to protect. These characteristics he's always had.

Guardian Neil please :))
WIP Wednesday (9/4) | Guardian Angel Neil AU (Part 230)
"For your pocket." Andrew says, jabbing a finger towards the bottom of Neil's hoodie. The angel's eyes flick down before settling back on Andrew's. There's a strange look on Neil's face, but Andrew just shrugs at it. "I wouldn't want you to start dropping your treats again."
"My treats?" Neil asks, amused. Andrew nods then makes a show of patting each pocket of his cargo pants before finally settling on one. (It's theatrical. He knows what he's looking for.) He pulls out a candy bar and slides it over to Neil conspiratorially. The angel picks it up and gives it a look. "What's this?"
How predictable, acting like he can't read.
"Peanuts and caramel," Andrew drawls. "No chocolate at all. Figured you might like it."
"Thanks." Neil says, looking bewildered and holding his two ridiculously simple gifts in each hand like he isn't sure what to do with either. Andrew would hate to completely overwhelm him, but he's not finished yet.
"How foolish of me," Andrew says, thwacking himself in the forehead. He goes for a different pocket and comes back with the gum and the small bag of chips. After dumping them unceremoniously between them, Andrew pulls the bottle of water over and adds it to his pile of offerings. "These are yours too."
Neil stares down at the pile for a moment before raising his head. "You remembered I liked Doritos?"
'Of course,' Andrew nearly says. Neil told him that ages ago, in passing. He catches himself and shrugs instead. "Everyone likes Doritos."
"Kevin doesn't."
"Kevin doesn't like anything," Andrew says. Neil laughs but continues to stare down at his little mound of items like they're going to disappear. "Eat or sew, angel."
Neil eats.
He starts with the candy bar, eating it slowly. Like he's trying to savor it. That bit of control evaporates when he opens the Doritos. He devours them in about nineteen seconds and downs half the water bottle in two gulps. It almost makes Andrew feel guilty. Knowing he could've been taking care of Neil like this since they met. But Neil's an angel, not a hamster, and he looks nothing but grateful as he dusts his hands off and picks up the chewing gum.
"Strawberry-Kiwi." He reads from the packaging, turning it over in his hands.
"It was the only fruity gum they carried. And I did ask, but they didn't have a gigantic bucket of mangoes and peaches either."
Neil smiles. "I like strawberries. Dunno if I've ever had a kiwi before."
"They're gross. Furry little things. And they're filled with seeds that you have to eat around. Unappealing is an understatement." Andrew says with a grimace. He's polished off his first candy bar and had a few sips of his energy drink. What a shame Kevin isn't here to witness it.
Andrew rips the second Snickers open and takes a small bite. (He's a bit weird in his eating habits, he knows. Fun size candy bars he'll pop into his mouth like they're nothing. Full sized ones take a bite of time.) He stares out at traffic as he works his way down it. Then shoves the wrappers into his pocket.
When Andrew looks back over at Neil, he finds the angel threading a needle. Or attempting to. He looks so stupidly cute, tongue poking out and brow furrowed in concentration. Finally, he has success. Neil flips the bottom of his hoodie up and hunches over to start stitching it back together.

worst trope is found family separating as soon as the antagonist is dealt with.
#yes this is about voltron and it's also about guardians of the galaxy#what james gunn did to gamora in GOTG3 is criminal#i understand why they did it but to end with her GOING BACK TO THE RAVAGERS?#fail end.#seriously#and it doesnt even make sense bc ofc the high evolutionary isnt going to be the last problem they would deal with#in just a few years they encountered 5 people trying to destroy the universe and who were incredibly difficult foes#youre finna tell me there will never be a situation like that for the rest of their lives?#gtfo#and mantis' end was dumb too not even sorry#i can tolerate drax and nebula's ends.#but everyone else?#stupid#even peter's ending was fucking moronic. bro can pop in on the weekends he doesnt need to be a live in nurse for his grandpa#it's just such a major letdown and sucks everytime a director/author decides to split up the found family permanently#at least with voltron you can rationalize it by saying 'oh they never really wouldve hung out with eachother if they werent forced to for#voltron and werent forced to fight a war together.' and i can see it bc none of them DO hang out together before voltron#they barely even hang out AFTER they become voltron#keith and shiro hang out bc of the adoption/fostering/mentoring thing. lance and hunk MIGHT hang out bc they were already teammates#it's important to note that we never really see hunk and lance being bffs. theyre just friendly to eachother.#this becomes even more apparent once hunk and pidge actually become friends. it's very obvious hunk was just being friendly to lance.#just friendly.#(take this with a grain of salt bc ive only watched the whole series one time. i refuse to acknowledge anything after se 2.)#so yeah it does make more sense theyd all go their own ways but not even the small friend groups stay together at the end!#pidge and hunk are in completely different galaxies from eachother. same with keith and shiro#lance is isolated from all of them bc post se 3 writing team genuinely hated him and failed him as a character.#but GOTG3? they CHOSE to band together time and time again. they CHOSE to be a team. they CHOSE to be family#for every single one of them to say 'nah fuck that i want to be on my own bc uhhh reasons!' is a lame ending.#period.#gotg3

Triona... If it will not ruin your plot of the au.. PLZ SHOW MY DRAXUM IF YOU HAVE HIM I BEG *CRYING ON THE FLOOR AND RUINING YOUR CARPET*
Tumblr media
THIS ONES FOR YOU KREDENA!! :D
(and splinter because we have to talk about him before going further)
OKAY! so (im sorry unu) but Drax wont be a huge part in the story. Though in regards to who he is, he's kind of a carer for the general community. Ofc he still has his mystic abilities for alchemy and such, but he spends most his time studying plants and remedies.
He spends a lot of time around Splinter as they have known each other for a lifetime of years, and have become surprising friends regardless of the difference in "status" (though that's not really a thing here)
NOW AS FOR SPLINTER :D AHHHHH MY DARLING OLD MAN <3
He is mother nature himself, or father nature depending on how he's feeling lol. The heart and soul of the forest. Mans been keeping this show running for many centuries now. He created the guardians within the last few hundred of years (that will be explained more in a comic later) to help out as he finally begins to show signs of ageing (that, and he was a little lonely). Without him, all sources of natural life would collapse. A lot of responsibility for one rats shoulders, but him and his gentle heart keep it going through its cycle despite all odds.
more to be explained later :>
