Heldalf <---> Alisha: serious political discussions, rarely drop formalities because Foreign Diplomacy, end up seriously respecting each other though even if they'll only express it very diplomatically. i think at least once they would play up the formal chatter to troll the rest of the party.

Heldalf <---> Rose: they don't really argue but they are, somehow, always snarking at each other. i think it'd be funny. they both take a while to earn the other's respect but once they do it works out. don't leave them together though because they will be the first to choose violence as an option.

Heldalf <---> Lailah: Once Heldalf gets over the "damn it, seraphim are real" thing, he's. very polite to Lailah only because he has no idea how to deal with her. He's not gonna start worshipping seraphim or acting like a believer, but like, Lailah does have a Role™ so... Lailah on the other hand just kind of keeps him at the general "will make puns and be supportive but never opens up to anything about herself" level that her oath also helps back up.

Heldalf <---> Sorey: Sorey just sees him as another general and representative of humanity's violence and bloodlust and desire to destroy/conquer everything and Heldalf just looks at him and goes "wtf is this kid doing"--

Kidding, I think Heldalf doesn't think much of Sorey at all at first and refuses to be affected by him looking like a teenager, just someone he knows he has to kill to stop the Age of Calamity. Eventually he does start to feel bad for Sorey though. I think a lot of this AU would just be Heldalf learning to actually confide in others and be an equal instead of a general.

That said, shepherd Heldalf AU is still very funny 😂 grumpy general guy and the gals he pulled by doing nothing at all

More random sormik headcanons cause i have nothing better to do.

Sorey is the reckless one but he's a quick thinker and can pick up on the little things in his environment with ease.

Mikleo is the "I can't believe I'm doing this" reckless in that he will refuse to do reckless things but he'll somehow still jump off cliffs just because Sorey is jumping off said cliff and he's all "I'm not letting you do this on your own". If nothing else there's a 15 % chance he can save them from dying if he finds some water. He is however much more cunning than Sorey and will use dirty tricks in a fight because he's smaller and its only fair.

Sorey exerts himself so much throughout the day that he'll typically fall asleep the moment his head hits the pillow.

Mikleo typically stays up at night wondering where his life went wrong and what God he pissed off in his previous life that Sorey did what he did that day.

Sorey isn't socially awkward. He's only awkward around new people because he's never had to make friends before and has literally known everyone since he was a baby. Mikleo is the one that is awkward and gets flustered around new people.

Sorey knows when people are flirting with him and deliberately derails sex and romance related conversations with Zaveid because he's secretly a troll.

Mikleo can never pick up on flirting but can somehow smell sass from a mile away. He's also really bad at picking up on sexual innuendos.

Mikleo was always the wife when they played house as kids and he absolutely hated it cause they would flip an ancient relic coin Sorey found to see who played what and Mikleo always lost. It was only when he found the coin lying around several years later that he realised the coin was the same on both sides.

The reason why Sorey never gets flustered when around women is because he grew up without the social construct of treating men and women differently.

Sorey had a massive celebrity crush on the shepards in the celestial records.

Mikleo is lowkey a conspiracy theorist but he thinks he's a realist.

The reason Mikleo wears the belts around his waist is because he had a tendency to leave his torso open and defenseless when sparring and then just got used to the feeling. Also it highlights his killer waist to hip ratio so that's a bonus.

Mikleo freezes his hair into that shape each morning.

At age 5 Sorey fell out of a tree into a bush, scraped his knee and wouldn't stop crying so Mikleo made him some water bubbles which was the only thing he could back then. Sorey then told Mikleo they should get married because his bubbles were the best in the whole wide world. They don't talk about it but both consider it a semi legit proposal.

Alright, so I finally finished reading through all of the available chapters and side stories, so here are my thoughts on Tales of Crestoria so far:

Pros:

- The soundtrack slaps.Why is it so good? Why is it better than the soundtrack for some of the mainline games that I’ve played? I can’t wait for them to release full versions of all of the insert songs.

- Despite being turn-based, the gameplay is actually pretty fun? There’s actually some strategy involved and it has yet to feel overly repetitive for me.

- There are attachments! And they picked out some of the best ones to include in the game!

- I love the banter between all of the characters. It’s what I always look forward to in crossover games, and this game absolutely nails it! A few highlights include Jade out-trolling Magilou, Yuri still being a Dad to Luke, Asbel and Ludger finishing each other’s sentences, Sorey wanting to ride Tokunaga and Anise attempting to charge him for it, Velvet having interactions with almost all of the blond male characters (as a nod to Laphicet I guess?), and the list goes on...

- The story is really good. It’s probably the best written story I’ve read out of any gacha games I’ve ever played, and better than some of the mainline games as well. In some games, like Dragalia Lost (which I’ve since dropped), I found myself wishing the cutscenes didn’t take so long and going through the story felt like a chore (it didn’t help that they were really long too). With this game, I found myself always looking forward to learning more about the characters, its world, and the story. Once I finished all of the story chapters, I literally yelled out “No! I want more!.”

- I really like how the legacy characters were implemented into the story! Emil and Marta are childhood friends! Laphicet sees Presea and Alicia as his surrogate sisters! Cress is Kanata’s teacher! Ernest/Gaius is Farah’s imaginary friend! There’s lots of cute stuff added and lots of cute new inter-series interactions and I welcome it with open arms!

- I think the translation this time around is much better compared to the previous mobile games. I also find it funny that Cress still talks like a medieval person! I guess the translators are just sticking with that now? Which makes me wonder, if Phantasia ever gets renamed and dubbed, will Cress still talk like that?

- I really like how the OCs are written, and I might make a separate post later to highlight what exactly it is I like about them, but I want to give a special shout out to Vicious. He’s a loveable jerk and the way his character is written is how I wish Bakugou’s character was written.

- The animation for the cutscenes are really good, as expected of WiT studio. The CGs are also very pretty! Probably even prettier than ToRays’.

Cons:

- Being forced to take guest party members during the side stories is the worst. Often times these characters are under-leveled and even at a disadvantage against the enemy type, which can be a major hassle especially if you’re aiming to get those extra 10 gleamstones for having no KOs.

- I really don’t like the way Yuna’s accent was translated. It’s such a pain to read through. Like, they couldn’t think of a better equivalent than French? Seriously?

- I know I mentioned that I liked how the legacy characters were implemented in the story, but there is one sole exception to that rule: Asbel. I really didn’t like how the game just gave Asbel Guy’s role. It’s a disservice to both of their characters! Guy has always been Luke’s big brother figure and it’s really weird to imagine him not having that same dynamic with Luke here. And Asbel, despite being given Guy’s role, doesn’t seem to have a close relationship with Luke (at least from what we’ve seen so far). Being a knight (and to a slightly lesser extent, a lord) is such a big part of Asbel’s character, and him being a mercenary and a Luke’s babysitter steward just doesn’t suit him at all. Since Guy’s 3D model has already been datamined, I’m at least content to know that Guy will be included in some way, so I’m hoping that the way he’s integrated into the story will still have him eventually developing that same close relationship with Luke. I also hope that a proper explanation for Asbel being a mercenary is explained (maybe in a side story? I’m also dying to know how he knows Jade) and that Asbel wanting to be a knight will still be a part of his character.

- There are some bugs here and there like the game suddenly freezing or the connection suddenly going out, but it just launched, so I’m sure it will get fixed/patched later on.

So overall, more pros than cons. Go play Tales of Crestoria.

Favorite headcanon: It’s not so much a Headcanon? As it is fact, but In Tales of Zestiria the X, it is revealed that someone of the Mayvin family, hinted to having been Magilou, had told the royal family of Rolance about the existence of malevolence, as well as the events of Tales of Berseria. This story was then passed down throughout the ages of the royal family. I kinda wish this was expanded upon a lot more. But, Bamco dropped that ball hella hard...

So like. I’m heavy into multifandom - and yes, I acknowledge it’s quite embarrassing, but I thug on. I only have two main interests, and as a result I tend to clash them together quite a lot. I thiiiink one can figure those two out just by checking my account!!! I also really like death games so I just went with the one that’s the most popular and decided to roll along with it; Me and my brother wanted to watch sg together, after all.

Before everything, I want to substantiate that I have this fictional thingymajig where I can explain why trolls and humans live together. The beforus ancestors, aka Alpha Feferi mainly - who goes by a different name for the sake of convenience - managed to establish a connection with humanity after finding out that Alternia was on the verge of demise. Basing myself on the theory that Karkat’s blood is a mutation from lime and that lime bloods were murdered thanks to their pacifying abilities; Humans also retained mutated lime blood, and such cases allowed for human and troll disputes to be minor. Throughout the years, human and troll connection became a new normal. There’s more 2 specify on and my grammar sucks but shhhh its because im tired,,yes,,,, trust.

Ok now 2 the Real Deal. Keep in mind that I’m not sure whether to make this based on s1 or s2, and if I do end up going with the latter I probably will have to wait or create new games on my own. Which is fun, actually!! Ahem

Aradia died before the game. We make this an Epic Aradiaghost Situation where Sollux and Aradia talk after death, whilst the former attempts to convince him to join an upcoming game for the sake of man/trollkind. Just like Aradia is a plot device in homestuck when dead, she takes on the same role here. Megido subsequentially revives thanks to the Life abilities that the secondary owner of the Games possesses, and this is without counting the support Esper leverages had on her being. When resuscitated, Aradia now forms part of the game itself- more specifically as a circle guard.

Tavros - Surprising to absolutely nobody, Tavros fucking Dies on the first game thanks to Vriska Serket obviously. the prize of dying goes to him

He is actually the first death, and it causes a chain reaction.

Sollux - He’s the catalyst to all of this. Sollux follows Aradia’s guidance and makes the rest of the trolls enter the game. Despite all of this, Captor was also the closest one to end it himself. Sollux dies TWICE, too, just like in the comic — Which means he actually only dies once. As Aradia just starts having her own will thanks to someone who will be disclosed later, she goes like. Hey. We can save people here. Cool.

By the second game (I’m still unsure of what season I should aim for), three participants and three “ guards” come up with a plan on how to end the games. They decide to fake the deaths of a specific set of chosen individuals, starting up small before escalating to a bigger quantity to create an “army” to throw down the two overly powerful frontmen. After shooting him in the ear with a fake bullet - albeit one that hurt nevertheless - they took his cognizant body to a vigilance-free room alongside the two other players. In there, they discussed plans, and more specifically: which role should Sollux take. Obviously, the group aimed to make him take charge of any technology based work (which is just a fancy way to say hacking.) Unfortunately, this job required for him to stay in the facilities, putting him at risk of being caught.

Ruhroh. So they catch him oh no who would have guessed! Upon being caught, Sollux has two options: either rat out the person who saved him, sparing his life and getting kept as the official technology manager of the games OR accept death itself. So like. It’s obvious what he chose. Aradia means too much to him, after all, and his love language is being eerily self-sacrificial.

Karkat - He gets killed by someone else! Yay! We love sabotage around here. This is pretty later on in the game, though, and most possibly by accident depending on who’s the person who killed him cause idk who could it be. Give me ideas guys. I’m debating whether he should die on a team- based game or in Lights Out. Either that OOORRR he dies in the fuckass marble game against Terezi! Both options are very tragic and, honestly, quite ironic. They play on basically calling his existence a mere joke, and rely on his awesome bonds with people which correlates to his character. Wahoo!

Nepeta - she dies later on. Equius is long gone by this rate. Lol . So it’s very probable she just,, gets sacrificed in the glass panels or in Lights Out. Whilst Nepeta is quite agile and sharp when it comes to it, she’s also an easy victim. It makes me believe that Vriska would make the most of this fundamental flaw. Leijon is quite good with her abilities but not at handling her own relationships properly, which causes the eventual non-consensual sacrifice. Sad.

Kanaya - I just know she would be one of the last ones guys. If I end up including the beta kids, Kanaya would probs get paired up with Rose; they both try to defy the rules due to Rose’s request, Kanaya gets found out, and the two are forced to play the marble warbler thing properly. Rose looks like she's winning as they compete against each other, but, ultimately, sacrifices herself for Kanaya. Yeowch! She thugs on. Or, she TRIES to, at least. This causes another reaction that involves Terezi and Vriska.

Terezi - Terezi manages to be a finalist, even if it comes with literally almost being killed. She’s super smart and witty during the first games- managing to find loops and ways to avoid the worst of it whilst, singlehandedly, looking for ways to escape. During her own stupid little thingymajigs, Terezi finds out that Vriska is cheating. She confronts her about it. This confrontation is Fucked Up and ends with Terezi being more susceptive to the demise and trauma that surrounds her. Due to an issue with Gamzee, Pyrope reaches her breaking point and confronts Vriska again; now in an open space. Kanaya notices. Blinded by rage, she also tries murdering Vriska alongside Terezi (who truly doesn't want to kill her, but wants to enforce justice.)The guards are about to Fucking Kill Vriska until oh noooooo Kanaya you’re on shooting range oh no!!! Oh no. Kanaya gets shot instead. Vriska, seeing the opportunity, attempts to take Terezi with her. Tragic. It does not work. Even if Pyrope managed to survive, she is now HEAVILY wounded, giving her a disadvantage on the last game. Pvp style. Snitches get stitches or something, so she refuses to treat it because Terezi believes it’s fair- after all, she just inadvertently caused the death of Kanaya.

Vriska - Already explained, but she basically gets up there by cheating, using others, and sacrificing people for her advantage. Does last long, doesn't end pretty.

Equius - think he would die either in the dalgona game (I love him, but it would be a lie to say that his cookie isn't at dire risk of breaking with a touch), six legged pentathlon, or in the marble game against Nepeta (which is very angsty.)

Or, dare I say, he might not even perish on the games at all. I’m still debating on who should be the third person whose life will be “saved” by the three guards. They need brute force, after all.

However, if I take the choice of not going along with it, Equius would definitely be a bother to deal with on the SLP game. He’s bossy. Very, very bossy. There’s a chance that Nepeta being in his team would save him, moderating his stern emotions and driving their team to victory. Nevertheless, that would mean his demise would be met on the early stages of Mingle.

Gamzee - GOD I have no idea what to do with him. He’s enough of a confusing character narrative-wise to deal with. I would appreciate ideas 😿 I’m not that good at characterizing him. Sniffle

Eridan - He just dies. Buddy theres no way he doesn't and then tries to beg the guards not to kill him. If anything, Eridan either perishes in Green light Red light or in the SLP. If Ampora dies in the first game, he would have been incredibly close to the finish line or right at the beginning, with no inbetween. Serket adores fucking people over, after all, and Eridan isn't an exception. If he dies in SLP, though, his team would form part with Equius.

Feferi - She isn't in the game, actually! Not until later, at least. Why, you may ask? Well, it’s obvious!! The Condense is one of the two creators and managers of it, so. She wants Feferi to help her. Feferi ends up as a higher role guard who really doesn't want this to happen. This is good, though, as now she can help this whole bigger plan another not-so-fan of the game is making! Yay! After helping a bunch and trying to cover up for the others, Feferi gets caught. It was doomed to happen. Anywho, as a punishment, Feferi just gets put in one of the games that was rigged for her death. The discovery of their plan subsequentially causes Sollux’s and the other chosen player’s demise, excluding the one who managed to escape amidst it all.

This is incredibly long oh my GOSH,,,, and there are like waaaayyyyy more plot holes and issues than anything ever. BUT. Here is the first part regarding the trolls! Yahoo! There are a lot of issues and theorical situations -I’m not even sure if I should include the beta kids, telling the truth- but at least I have a plot, kinda.

All of this is incredibly mixed up because I haven't had the chance to actually,, discuss it with someone, like at all, so. My apologies :( PLEASE feel free to add suggestions or ask questions!!! Anyone who read this far is amazing btw ily hell yea

Summary:

Are you ready for more post-canon feels

Post-epilogue Mikleo enters a room and addresses Alisha, who’s reading a book at her desk, to tell her that he wants to introduce her to someone. He’s mildly surprised to see her reading that “again,” but she smiles and tells him that’s because it’s a wonderful book.

Elsewhere, Sorey sits in an open field. He realizes that he can’t feel any malevolence around him, and briefly reflects on his journey--becoming the Shepherd, traveling with Rose and the seraphim. He wonders if everything turned out alright after that, and then starts to remember Edna telling him about the “two kinds of seraphim,” but Mikleo shows up and interrupts his thoughts.

Sorey gets up to greet him, but freezes when he sees Alisha--who’s dressed slightly different than usual, and introduces herself to him as though it’s the first time they’ve met.

Edna’s explanation continues:

“There are two kinds of seraphim: those who are born as seraphim, and those who come from humans. It’s possible for the soul of a human with a pure heart to be reborn as a seraph. But they lose all memory of the human they used to be.”

Sorey finally snaps out of his daze and also introduces himself. His name surprises Alisha, who immediately becomes starry-eyed and asks if he’s the Sorey, the previous Shepherd and hero of the Age of Chaos. Sorey’s confused by the word “hero” and the extremely formal way she’s addressing him--but Mikleo is a troll and gets a gleam in his eye and confirms his identity, which excites Alisha even more and leaves Sorey totally lost and wondering what kind of stories Mikleo has been telling.

Alisha all but leaps at him, telling him it’s an honor to meet him, that she’s read his biography (which, again, confuses him) and admires him and has always hoped to see him in person, and asks if he’s feeling well after his long sleep. Totally at a loss, he finally yells at Mikleo to explain.

Later that night, Alisha is re-reading Sorey’s biography (which Mikleo wrote) and wondering what kind of person he is. She decides that she wants to talk to him to find out, so she takes a blanket with her and finds him out in the field.

Alisha: “Lord Shepherd, please use this. The night wind can be bad for the body. ...What’s wrong?”

Sorey: “Why don’t you drop that stuffy title? Just Sorey is fine.”

Alisha: “Eh?! No, that’s...!”

Sorey: “And please don’t bother with honorifics, either.”

Despite her embarrassment, she agrees, and Sorey remarks to himself that her “formal way of talking is the same as ever.” He invites her to sit next to him and talk with him (she eagerly and respectfully exclaims that it would be an honor) and he puts the blanket around her shoulders to share it with her.

She’s embarrassed by how close they are, but after stumbling with addressing him--and using his name, as asked--she says that she noticed his odd reaction when he first saw her before. She invites him to speak his mind if something’s bothering him, assuring him that she wants to know more about him.

After a pause and a sad look, Sorey explains:

“...You... look a lot like a friend of mine. She had deep faith in the seraphim and the legend of the Shepherd. She was upright and honest, with a strong sense of duty. She gladly suffered for the sake of achieving her dreams.

Did her efforts pay off in the end? I wasn’t there to see it.

...I’m sorry. Seeing you makes me think about her.”

Watching his expression, Alisha realizes that this “Hero of the Age of Chaos” is actually just a normal, lonely boy.

Now talking to himself, Sorey wonders aloud whether (human) Alisha’s dream ever came true--and then quickly apologizes when he realizes that he’s talked too much. Alisha, however, assures him that such a dream most certainly came true, because “after all, she was your friend.” She adds that anyone who called Sorey a friend would surely be happy. Without warning Sorey takes her in his arms and hugs her tight, with tears in his eyes but a grateful smile on his face.

“...Yeah. I hope so.”

The next day, Mikleo is reflecting on Sorey’s initial reaction to Alisha and starting to worry about him. He criticizes himself a bit for how he handled it, thinking to himself that he knows that this Alisha (”that child”) isn’t the original Alisha, but suddenly doubting whether Sorey will also accept that truth. He enters Sorey’s house and finds the two of them together--reading Mikleo’s book, no less, which flusters him.

Mikleo: “W-Why are you reading that?!”

Alisha: “I’m sorry, Mikleo! He said he wanted to read it...”

Sorey: “I’m checking to see what you wrote about me, Mikleo!”

Mikleo: “That’s... embarrassing... Could you not...”

Sorey ignores him and happily goes back to the book, asking Alisha about the different pages she’s marked (she tells him they’re her favorite scenes). Mikleo starts to snap at him, but stops when he realizes that the mood between Sorey and Alisha is different than it was yesterday. He asks if something happened between them, but they only exchange smiles and, together, say that it’s a secret.

Impressions:

I thought I’d include more direct quotes of the dialogue this time, so hopefully that conveyed the mood(s) better than me just totally summarizing all of it? I’m also gonna start scanning the front and back covers, since some of them have artwork on both.

Anyhow, I love suffering for my ships so this doujinshi served me well :^) Getting my obligatory “Mikleo was really well done and I’m glad he was included” spiel out of the way, holy heck I love this whole idea?? It’s not the first time I’ve come across the Mikleo-raises-seraph!Alisha plot in the Japanese fandom, but this is definitely one of the sadder takes imo.

I could go on forever about how I loved every bit of it, but in particular, I like that it drew a solid line between seraph!Alisha and human!Alisha; it didn’t blur the distinction just to have some on-screen shippiness, but instead had Sorey recognize from the start that this Alisha is her own, separate person that he can’t just copy-paste all of his feelings onto (even if he does seem to a little bit with that hug, but that much is kind of expected, I think, and it doesn’t get Weird). Likewise it doesn’t say that Sorey and this Alisha couldn’t be more involved later on, but that’s not the focus, so it’s pretty much left up to our imagination.

Also Sorey casually sharing a blanket without a second thought is just so Sorey and cute and I love it. <3

And then the whole three-way friendship atmosphere at the end was just really nice?? I love it. I love all of it, and while I’ve always recommended the doujinshi I review, I really recommend this one. Really pretty, expressive art, and a good, IC take on the trio. The book isn’t super hard to find, but it’s not readily available, either; on mediator sites it seems to sit between $20 and $30, so it’s probably less than half that if you get it straight from Japan. I can’t remember how much I paid for it, but it was worth it. Definitely one of my favorite SorAli doujinshi out there!
