𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐲 💌💕
romance movies are my favorite genre of film to watch— i love a good love story. these all have plenty of romance and glamour to satiate your needs this valentine’s day weekend ✨
1. the photograph
mae morton finds a photograph that leads her to look more into her late mother’s early life, which leads her to meet journalist michael block, who is doing research for a story that is connected to mae.
i love this film because, it’s not a traumatic black love story. there is drama (obvi) but it’s soft. it’s sweet. it’s complex. it’s sexy. it has issa rae AND lakeith stanfield. hello?! we love it.
2. letters to juliette
american writer, sophie, travels to italy with her fiancé where she discovers “the secretaries of juliette” — a group of women who answer letters people write to juliette of the famed story ‘romeo and juliette’. sophia finds an unanswered letter from 1957 from a woman named claire and writes back. from there, sophie, claire, and claire’s stoic grandson charlie, search high and low for claire’s lost love.
i just think this movie is really sweet, and i like how it focuses on how love can be found at any age.
3. my big fat greek wedding
toula porto kales is a 30 year old misfit in her greek orthodox family who is confused why she hasn’t done her daughterly duties: marry a greek man and make greek babies. toula has always wanted different: she’s always wanted to be prettier, more out going, and she’s always wanted to fall in love. toula decides to take a class and that inspires her to put effort into herself and this leads to her to finding the love of her life and finally taking charge of her life.
i know some people hate the “ugly duckling to swan trope” but i really like it in and in this movie, it feels like through this, toula heals a lot of her childhood insecurities. it’s so precious the lengths ian goes to be with toula, because he genuinely loves her.
4. baggage claim
montana moore is an air hostess in her 30’s who’s mother is constantly pressuring her to get married, especially since her little sister just got engaged. now, montana is scurrying all across the country to find a potential husband before her sister walks down the aisle.
this film is so funny and a good time. it also has a brilliant cast of actors and is one of those cute “love is right around the corner” kind of love stories.
5. how to marry a millionaire
3 ambitious models rent a luxurious new york penthouse in an effort to find wealthy husbands.
this is an old film but it’s a classic. i love marilyn monroe in this, and the OUTFITS? peek 1950’s chic and glam.
6. gentlemen prefer blondes
lorelei lee (marilyn monroe) and her best friend dorothy shaw (jane russell) are ultra glam american show girls on their way to france so that lorelei can marry her lover, even though his father forbids it.
i think this film created some of marilyn monroe’s most iconic on-screen looks. she sings “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” in the super replicated pink dress. it’s also just a really great musical and fun.
7. sylvie’s love
sylvie parker is a music loving good girl working in her parent’s record shop in new york. one day she meets robert halloway, a jazz sax player, who her father hires to work in the shop. sylvie and robert bond over music and television and a beautiful romance blossoms.
this movie has only been out for just over 2 years and it holds such sentimental value for me. i think it’s a beautiful, gentle love story, set in the 60’s. i think this is definitely top 2 for me.
8. crazy rich asians
chinese-american economics professor rachel chu accompanies her boyfriend to singapore for his best friends wedding and also to meet his family. come to find out they are THE richest family in singapore.
despite the criticisms this film gets (which are valid), i love it! i love the opulence, i love the drama, and i love everything about this. minorities in luxury will always be my vibe.
9. beauty and the beast (2017)
tale as old as time, tune as old as song. this is the classic story of a beautiful maiden melting the ice cold heart of a ferocious beast, but this is the most (?) modern version and it was shot live action.
i think this is my favorite disney live action adaptation. i’ve always related to belle as my favorite princess because she loves to read. i also love the ending number (ari + john legend did what they needed to do) just a heart warming film.
10. enchanted
giselle is a fair maiden from the andalasia meets a handsome prince who rescues her and they agree to marry, but giselle is tricked by the prince’s wicked step mother who transports her to new york city, where she meets robert and his daughter morgan, who introduce her to the real world.
this is the film that gave us the song ‘ever ever after’ by carrie underwood! need i say more? ok, i will. the gowns, the music, the found family just melts your heart.
please feel free to add to this list with your suggestions!

Wow guys. What a year. Sorry if this is long, but I want to take a minute to appreciate some of the good things this year gave me
This fandom has been the one thing to really get me through it, especially these last few months. I'm so thankful for all of you. Like unimaginably so. I honestly don't know where I'd be without this little light the fandom has given me.

Sorry if I'm spamming but I also like huni and that curse girl together alot it's super cute I also live mae (mai?) as well there's a lot of great characters you don't see in the anime
you’re so good, i LOVE getting asks, it genuinely makes me so happy to talk to you guys!!
the manga has some GREAT characters that the anime doesn’t have, just because there isn’t time, and the anime could only cover so much of the manga before it ended. but like.
reiko and honey? literally an iconic couple:
they’re adorable, i love them so much. the whole “girl just talk to him, you don’t need to curse people to like you, you’re just a cool person” thing is just. so good. also “you stole my soul” vs. “you stole my heart”? my soulmate trope loving mind adores this. i love reiko with my whole heart and it’s tragic that she wasn’t in the anime.
mei? idk how i feel about her actual introduction as misuzu’s daughter who is angry at her for being trans (or simply a drag queen, if that’s your personal reading, which is cool); but otherwise as a character, iconic. she’s so over the top, but she’s such a great friend to haruhi, and the two of them have a power friendship that the manga needs.
more manga-only characters that are iconic and we deserved more of: anne-sophie (who is mentioned in the anime, but we never meet, and that whole arc is Important To Me Personally), everyone who works for kyoya (specifically tachibana), KUZE (that whole arc kills me and is fodder for So Much analysis), the entire hitachiin family (i love them and they get such a bad rep in the anime), and probably more that i’m forgetting atm. the manga is just. so good. i’m SO glad i read it.

Ronnie & Joe
Ronnie: [is gonna rock up late despite literally living with Charlie so enjoy the entrance everybody]
Joe: [when you weren’t invited but still gonna show up like you have somewhere better to be, love that for you, the effort we’ve not gone to because we live here so it’s kinda okay but not really Joseph, also I imagine kinda shook she ended up showing]
Ronnie: [likewise in the sense that she dresses the same everywhere she goes unless it’s a job interview or court appearance lol but we know she looks good if you’re Joseph and into it, I imagine her zoning in on Jamie immediately like who the fuck is this and then oh I’ve heard nothing about you kinda energy soz gal]
Joe: [rude but not untrue in this case, at least Charlie can make it seem like you’re joking and Joe can go get you a drink like soz this is all we have energy ‘cos in jokes]
Ronnie: [I highly doubt they have enough seats around that table so I also imagine her dragging up something to sit on like yeah I’m here to stay bitches and drinking Joe’s drink while he’s gone as a throwback to when she did when they met at that gig and cos we’re obvs claiming him LOL]
Joe: [we know the food is gonna be studenty anyway so having smaller portions won’t kill any of us lmao, just dying at how shocked Sophie is having to conceal she is, host on queen, boring boyfriend having no opinions of course]
Ronnie: [don’t worry gal depending how much of a jealous rage we get into we probably won’t be eating it so you’ll still have brownies left, her face would be iconic and I totally picture Marc on his phone the entire time because Paul used to do that when he was with Trace]
Joe: [giving nothing to this bizarre situation, too real, Charlie and Sophie holding this together, soz guys, Joe jus amused af, do we sit opposite or next to hmm]
Ronnie: [read that as soz gays, ILY mum & dad, I think he needs to sit opposite Jamie so that she can accuse them of eye fucking each other or whatever so probably next to]
Joe: [okay yes gather ‘round everyone]
Ronnie: she lives here
Joe: yeah I told you, Silent Bob’s gf
Ronnie: you said he had a bitch not shes been chained to the radiator since youse lot moved in
Joe: maybe that’s his secret
Ronnie: whens he letting you have your go
Joe: got my own radiator you can have a go on when this is over
Joe: not to brag or nothing
Ronnie: wont be over til the fat flatmate sings & the other one sucking you off while her & mariah duet and the boyfriend pretends he aint watching youse instead is fuck all to brag about
Joe: be lucky if it got close to that level of mildly interesting
Joe: where are you in all this then
Ronnie: under the sink looking for drain cleaner or whatever else i can drink
Joe: why do you get to have all the fun?
Ronnie: i dont waste my time asking bullshit questions
Joe: how are we gonna waste our time
Ronnie: im gonna kill your shared girlfriend & youre gonna cry about it
Joe: I don’t think I am
Joe: no amount of tragedy is gonna breakthrough the chemical fog
Ronnie: you would if you could
Joe: [🙄 at her]
Ronnie: [tips however much is left of her drink into his lap not at all accidentally but we know Charlie and Soph will pretend it was]
Joe: [whip them off to go get changed boy]
Ronnie: [when you wanna follow him but you just gotta glare instead]
Joe: [probably taking whatever we’ve got in to make this go easier, ‘scuse us, so much missing out]
Ronnie: [you know she turned up already on something so do what you gotta do Joseph]
Joe: [Jamie should be talking to you about uni things thus alienating everyone else a lil ‘cos that is a bit rude and will annoy you gal]
Ronnie: [fully just opening up a wound over here literally cos she was already jealous but did not realise they had this much shit in common or anything in common actually so we’re just livid and bleeding]
Joe: [Sophie just running with the kitchen roll like omg do we have bandages guys like oh babe you truly only mean well, Charlie just giving the can you not looks of it all, Joe just jealous because we’ve obviously got our long sleeves]
Ronnie: [a spoken out loud fuck you at everyone but mainly Joe as we go to the bathroom to not deal with this but instead evoke the energy of when Mae downed that mouthwash because she definitely would and also go through the cabinets for anything sharp obvs]
Joe: [at least you can go under the guise of checking on her but really you’re just seeing what she’s doing]
Ronnie: [1000% have not locked the door because we wanted him to follow us but that won’t stop her telling him to get out because walking contradiction forever]
Joe: [locks it behind him in response]
Ronnie: [the most intense glare in response because could not be more livid rn]
Joe: [grabbing wherever the wound is like we’re gonna kiss it better or something like Soph for a casual bit of blood drinking]
Ronnie: [obviously have to push him away really hard because we’re obviously really into it and excuse you boy we’re trying to be angry and hate you, soz to all the flatmates when you hear that crashing about]
Joe: [lmao this tiny bathroom getting destroyed, steady yourself and her despite that clearly not being what she wants right now, roll up a sleeve ‘you never did the X’]
Ronnie: [the glorious visual of trying to get past him to leave/push him away again at the same time in a small space so you just end up pressed up against each other and the door making eye contact and it’s hot af ‘you never took me anywhere’]
Joe: [‘so let me’ do you mean let’s get out of here or in a saucy way either or you skinny as hell girl so if you not really trying to leave it’s easy not to let you]
Ronnie: [‘she’ll let you’ because we’re not just dropping this even if we want to]
Joe: [‘who?’ like an oblivious boy ‘cos clearly not where our head is]
Ronnie: [a really vicious read of Jamie based on what we’re learned this evening that I’m not gonna do because I am not that mean but it’s obvious it’s her and not Sophie we’re talking about, hope you don’t hear us gal]
Joe: [‘I’m not interested’ in every sense right now ‘and you know that, stop pissing about’]
Ronnie: [‘wasn’t any other cunt round the table hanging on her every fucking word, I know that’ because that was blatant Jamie]
Joe: [‘I can’t help it that her fella’s an accountant’ what do you do Marc, do any of us know lol, shrugs ‘we go to the same school, that’s it’ and a look like whatever the fuck this is is clearly more]
Ronnie: [she would wanna lol but we can’t because still mad ‘that’s it?’ not actually a question though more like you better be telling the truth boy ‘why the fuck have you never told me about her then?’]
Joe: [‘I thought I had when I said he had a girlfriend’ not not a lie ‘none of them are what I want to talk about, that’s it’]
Ronnie: [‘you were thinking with this’ grabbing his dick when we say so ‘that’s it’ cos even if that was true Joseph we shade the rest of the flatmates often and you know damn well we love doing it]
Joe: [shakes head even though we are very clearly into that ‘she’s no Soph’ like it wouldn’t be as funny soz]
Ronnie: [‘is right’ like yeah I know you actually seriously wanna get with her, and moving away but not to leave but to pick back up whatever implement we were gonna hurt ourselves with before he came in but didn’t get chance to because we’re genuinely upset]
Joe: [literally putting ourselves in front of it like no ‘Ronnie’ like I don’t know how you’re going to even put it into words boy so it’s mainly a !!! look]
Ronnie: [a look that starts out like don’t try and stop me/fuck you but turns into !! when his does like say something/do something if you mean it]
Joe: [got to go in and kiss you whilst making her push whatever she was gonna use on herself into him, now or never, enjoy the tension finally getting released]
Ronnie: [obviously we’re kissing you back so we all know what’s gonna happen next lol, soz flatmates I really hope you can’t hear anything, especially Charlie cos you actually know they’re related]
Joe: [it is not a big flat so keep quiet, just think he’s comforting her for all this time or what, god bless]
Ronnie: [she would be trying to keep quiet but not for y’all more so he thinks she’s unimpressed/not that into it but that would literally last all of a second because she’s obviously very into it]
Joe: [the levels you aren’t gonna wanna go back in but can’t be seen as being romantic lads]
Ronnie: [I could easily have her leave if we want though because it’s a fact that she doesn’t wanna be here and everyone would be relieved except Joseph]
Joe: [that probably makes sense, honestly, and you’ve freaked them all out, as was the point]
Ronnie: [and lbr you’ve freaked yourselves out with how good that hook up was too so]
Joe: [just go hide in your room like you’re very taxed by that in an acceptable way boy]
Ronnie: [god knows where you’re gonna go gal but please don’t OD again like you literally did in Margate no time ago]
Joe: [the headfuckery]
Ronnie: [poor Charlie just like UMMM WTF cos she must look bad even for her rn and we’ve behaved terribly and then literally legged it so]
Joe: [thank god you’re such a natural party go-er so you can make up some excuse to put them all at relative ease but yeah, for sure like excuse me]
Ronnie: [might be fun to do a convo between them when we’re done with this one]
Joe: [I’m down even though I really haven’t used him yet, I’ll give it a go]
Ronnie: [yeah it’s been forever since we did the group chats with them and Bronson and Bea it feels like another life, I can send you the convo we did where she told him she met Joe if you like cos I re-read that the other day and it was pretty good]
Ronnie: [but the real question is who’s gonna break first and start a convo and how long are we leaving it?]
Joe: [please do ‘cos did not realize we’d done that tbh]
Joe: [I could make a case for either of them, him to prove he meant it as he left it last time but her so she can’t automatically be on the ‘it meant nothing’ total defensive hmm]
Joe: [some hours later when the party is over, or could be]
Joe: Charlie was going pub, he’s left here though
Ronnie: [even later because whatever she’s doing she’s messy and can’t reply to the extent that she doesn’t need to because he won’t be expecting her to and yet here we are]
Ronnie: did whitney ask you to pass it on to us cos hes still disappointed like
Joe: couldn’t say
Joe: just letting you know that you’ll have a free gaff for a while longer
Ronnie: where have i chucked the other one for the sake of this free gaff in your mind mckenna
Joe: alright, free rooms better than fuck all
Ronnie: its his emmy oggie i aint there either
Joe: anywhere good?
Ronnie: compared to what
Joe: established it’s no brag compared to tonight
Ronnie: not gonna stop you comparing me & her
Joe: compare to what?
Joe: pleasantries over cocopops
Ronnie: youll be interested in eating her out now youve got what you wanted off me
Ronnie: 9 is easier to carve than an 8 and you wont look like youre trying to copy the infinity sign one of your other exes wouldve got inked on her
Joe: it’s not remotely the fucking same
Joe: if I was arsed about getting my numbers up there’s millions of girls in this city I could hit up before you
Ronnie: yeah youre not related to any of em and theyd have less clue how to shoot up than you do
Joe: even if the related bit was ringing 100% true, you’re the only user in town now?
Joe: you don’t have to pervert it when it already was
Ronnie: youre already romanticising it like a fucking 13 year old so yeah i do cause one of us has to get real
Joe: you reckon I’m so okay with it just because I can admit I wanted it
Joe: who do you reckon you’re lying to like I weren’t there
Ronnie: who do you reckon youre talking to like i didnt fucking leave you there for a reason
Joe: Fuck off
Ronnie: i did
Joe: for someone who reckons they’re so open, you chat so much shit
Ronnie: open to what soft lad infection
Joe: scars and trackmarks on your sleeve
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: you didn’t miss much
Ronnie: no shit you didnt just invite me cause you wanted to fuck me
Ronnie: can do that anywhere
Joe: yeah and you didn’t just wanna come to make Soph cry, like
Ronnie: i owed you
Joe: get it off your to-do list then
Joe: well done
Ronnie: stop crying youll never look as ugly as horse girl doing it or go for as long as her
Joe: you love her, we all 👀
Ronnie: i said shut up
Joe: no, you say something that’s not stupid
Ronnie: what for fucks sake
Ronnie: what did you reckon id say when you started chatting shit like nothing happened
Joe: alright, I don’t know
Joe: it happened, right
Ronnie: you werent hallucinating
Joe: nothing that makes that happen in the bathroom cupboard
Joe: I don’t regret it, I know that
Ronnie: meant to be made up to hear it am i
Joe: nah, probably not
Joe: but you wanted me to talk about it so I am
Ronnie: i wanted you to take the fucking hint when i legged it as soon as
Joe: you could’ve blocked me, so
Joe: pardon me for not taking it that seriously
Ronnie: not your crazy ex & i couldnt deny you your bullshit heroics
Ronnie: mary aint carrying me anywhere and i know how bad you wanna see me turn blue
Joe: you like having a stalker, is what you mean
Ronnie: block me and get your whore flatmate to tell you what she likes about you
Ronnie: weve established i aint got the talent to sing no cunts praises
Joe: we’ve established I’m not interested in that
Ronnie: cause you want me to tell you how smart you are at fucking me instead of beat the shit out of you
Ronnie: it wont last
Joe: familys forever, sis
Ronnie: not to your ma baby
Ronnie: did i look enough like her for you
Joe: what do you reckon
Joe: your theory, not mine
Ronnie: mustve youve still not fucked off
Joe: you’ve got room for another face tat or two
Ronnie: go do that then
Joe: you can leave out the yes sir
Joe: not my fantasy
Ronnie: no shit like youve been my bitch since you hit send on facebook
Joe: 😂
Joe: I’ve been worse
Ronnie: you trying to turn me on or what its a bit late for it
Joe: just the once, alright
Joe: bit cliche but probably for the best considering
Joe: very sensible of you
Ronnie: cliche that my da didnt stick around long enough for his side of the family to properly cut or sew me up so ive gotta regret not getting chance to put a razor blade inside me before you 💔
Ronnie: now youre gonna reckon i care youve said the once ll do when i just hate you & hate how you fuck even more
Joe: Could’ve said it was about as much fun as
Joe: it’s alright
Joe: both confused, clearly
Ronnie: youre not confused youre fucking smug
Joe: hardly another achievement for the fridge door
Joe: what’s to be smug about
Ronnie: probably for the best i dont answer that if thats how you feel
Joe: come on
Joe: aside from proving you were full of shit about not wanting to as well
Ronnie: fuck you
Joe: you don’t want me to say how I really feel
Ronnie: making me cum earlier dont mean you know what i want now
Joe: right, you want me to declare my love so you get more out of telling me to fuck off, that’s more like it
Ronnie: do i fuck
Joe: then what do you want
Ronnie: like you give the slightest shit
Joe: I do too
Ronnie: no you dont
Joe: I fucking do
Joe: [prove it in a way only y’all would, carve her name or something]
Ronnie: [send him your own pics of the bite marks you’re covered in which is a self harming thing you’ve not done since you were a kid because it’s been a headfuck every second since you two met and we’re not coping honey]
Joe: you hungry?
Joe: you didn’t eat fuck all, I mean
Joe: could get something not dubiously prepared by Soph
Ronnie: hungry as you are funny
Joe: I weren’t trying to be
Joe: on the spectrum, or whatever you said
Ronnie: you wish you had the excuse or the musical prodigy status
Joe: 💔 about that genuinely
Joe: just a dickhead
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: I don’t know what to say
Joe: there’s no point saying I’m sorry
Ronnie: no point is right youre not sorry
Joe: nah
Joe: it’d be lovely for you if I’d found you and you were fine
Joe: but like you said, it ain’t about me or her, it’s about loads of shit and you clearly weren’t so
Joe: just seems pointless
Ronnie: im made up you finally got your head round it
Joe: Yeah well, I didn’t tell you I was a good person
Joe: don’t mean I don’t give no fucks, just ‘cos I ain’t trying to save you
Ronnie: you keep telling me you aint like it matters to me who you are
Joe: yeah, it doesn’t in why you’re fucked
Joe: but what do you want from me
Ronnie: its your fucking fault im like this climbing the walls same as when i was a kid
Joe: yeah ‘cos you were doing really great before weren’t ya
Ronnie: all you give a fuck about is letting yourself off the fucking hook
Joe: Blame me then what does it change
Joe: do something about it other than fucking yourself up, I don’t care
Ronnie: stop lying that youre bothered if your only answer to me losing my mind is that i was before
Joe: I can’t help you
Joe: If you thought I could, though why the fuck you would
Joe: then I am sorry
Ronnie: 💔🖕
Joe: I’ve got my own problems
Joe: if I had any solutions, I’d light ‘em up and shoot them into myself first, naturally
Ronnie: youve got a solution i gave it to you
Ronnie: why the fuck would you make me feel something
Joe: Selfishness
Joe: pure and simple
Ronnie: on your way to a grown up habit im dead proud
Joe: what more could I want
Ronnie: that to scab over seeing as youve finally admitted its bullshit
Joe: I still think about you constantly
Joe: I still want to know everything about you
Joe: I’d rot with you
Ronnie: youve got your own problems to think about
Joe: yeah, and that’s hell
Joe: I’ve done plenty of that
Ronnie: yeah and youve got your escape
Joe: take yours
Joe: can have plan bs and cs even if a is the best
Ronnie: youre the kid who tells the rest to jump off a bridge
Ronnie: cute
Joe: you’re implying I wouldn’t and all
Ronnie: i dont give a shit what you do but i aint giving you the satisfaction of being the last fuck i ever had
Ronnie: youd cling to life long enough to write a pathetic song about it
Joe: that’s the nicest thing you’ve said
Joe: which is saying something ‘cos you’re so sweet, like
Ronnie: youre welcome
Joe: I’ll do a Dylan style ballad about all your 👼🏼 deeds
Ronnie: thats the biggest turn off out of everything youve ever said or done
Joe: thank god, you’re insatiable 😏
Ronnie: once you said
Joe: not for my benefit
Ronnie: its all only for your benefit remember
Joe: if that were true you’d still be here
Ronnie: if it was true i could be
Joe: come back
Ronnie: cant ive got a face tat to get done
Joe: I understand
Joe: my art isn’t there yet
Joe: won’t ruin your beauty
Ronnie: go ed and chuck yourself off a bridge you dont have to wait for me to boot your door in & do you in for chatting shit
Joe: well I am already devvo I’m not a prodigy so yeah, add lack of a steady hand to the list of failures
Joe: probably the meds
Joe: you know being poetic is all I do, why have we downgraded it to chatting shit 💔
Ronnie: why are you calling me beautiful when you could write it in your suicide note for your ma theres your downgrade
Joe: you’re too romantic for your own good
Joe: I wouldn’t be writing a note, sorry to dash your illusions
Ronnie: not me saying i get you mckenna thats your delusion
Ronnie: what are you gonna draw on me then
Joe: you do but it’s more fun to take the piss and pretend you don’t so
Joe: That is the question
Joe: won’t brand you, don’t worry
Ronnie: if i dont want it ill cut it out no pressure
Joe: it’s just skin right
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: how olds your oldest scar
Ronnie: older than you
Joe: what did you do
Ronnie: i used to take headbanging literally
Joe: ah, the floor never saw you coming, yeah
Joe: I have a head scar too [cos he either does or did on the stalker show idk but there we go with a photo like she probably knows hun]
Ronnie: [I just imagine her smiling to herself like yeah I know nerd]
Ronnie: cant both be poets had to express myself somehow before i pushed a safety pin through my cheek
Joe: that explains the permanent 😾
Joe: fucked the muscles, like
Ronnie: your shit jokes do
Joe: it was always easier to just start fights to get hurt
Joe: when I was a kid
Joe: though you work out ways to be sneaky fast, if you have to
Ronnie: they didnt wanna fight me
Joe: everyday sexism strikes again
Ronnie: fuck off not cos im a girl
Joe: why then
Ronnie: wouldnt be me getting hurt and if i was i didnt care
Ronnie: all those mental problems you told that call centre cunt about like
Joe: ‘course you were too proud to make it count
Joe: have to let them get some punches in or there was no point, yeah
Ronnie: no point in fitz flouncing in either fun though
Joe: true
Joe: I’ve got a brother and all, I remember what it’s like
Ronnie: scraps never went far enough
Joe: yeah
Joe: most kids aren’t that psycho
Ronnie: 💔
Joe: being misunderstood served me so well for the whole musician thing so whatever, I guess
Ronnie: i mightve bothered keeping some of my bastards about if they were guaranteed nutters thatd serve you well
Joe: you’d get your own room then, like
Joe: even if you had to pack them to the rafters
Ronnie: for a stalker youre dead concerned about my privacy
Joe: nah, ‘course not
Joe: I’d rather have a place to do the gear without the possibility of Soph or Charlie 🥺ing at us obvs, nothing but selfishness
Ronnie: theres loads of places
Joe: you can show me
Ronnie: is she there now she can let me in
Joe: no idea
Joe: their room is near the door, makes sense they’d be your first victims
Ronnie: youre too selfish to get off your arse and do it
Joe: if you’re coming I’ll carry you in myself, you know that
Ronnie: ill be there and youll still be going on about what youre gonna do
Ronnie: no wonder the other kids kept smacking you
Joe: yeah, all mouth me, deffo what I was known for
Joe: not a euphemism and I don’t think they were wishing it was but who knows
Ronnie: you sure you dont want charlie giving you the eye
Ronnie: how it sounds
Joe: I’m alright, tah
Joe: pretty sure he’s over it now I’m enabling you
Ronnie: hes over everything thats not horse girls from kent but reckons the fucking lost causes are us
Joe: He clearly just gives a shit about appearances
Joe: looking nice, polite
Joe: they’ll never speak again, like
Ronnie: forget him
Ronnie: open the door
Joe: [do that boy]
Ronnie: [boop his little head scar as you come in like oh there it is]
Joe: [‘s’not even a good story’ and producing some takeaway moment from the kitchen as you go through ‘cos the dinner party was not heavy on the dinner bit]
Ronnie: [a look like ffs because people caring in any way ew no but we are gonna eat it because probably haven't since that Margate moment]
Joe: [shrugging like bitch I’m hungry as we tuck in, obviously]
Ronnie: [kick him while you've still got your big boots on but playfully not aggressively]
Joe: [😏 but in a more genuine way than that cocky face looks, I am vibing Chinese not that that matters but there we go]
Ronnie: [weirdly I also thought that maybe because it's one of the grossest haha but yeah eat your food lads]
Joe: [greasy greasy goodness, love the subtle shade if any of them come out for a cuppa or whatever like oh hello again lol]
Ronnie: [I hope it's oblivious Marc just living his life]
Joe: [that’d be most amusing, unbothered, casually]
Ronnie: [I just imagine them doing stuff to try and make him notice like when people stack stuff on a sleeping person but idk what you could do in that little kitchen]
Joe: [for sure, just being subtly annoying/weird and he is just like does not compute ‘cos we mind our own business, so childish]
Ronnie: [love that for you two]
Joe: [we stan the regression for you]

Erik Malpica Flores Erik Malpica Flores recommends: ABC Halloween Teasers: MODERN FAMILY, FRESH OFF THE BOAT, SPEECHLESS and More |
With Halloween quickly approaching, ABC is airing Halloween-themed episodes of its primetime shows throughout the month of October. Fans can also watch the classic IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN, as well as a Halloween version of the film TOY STORY.
Thursday, October 18
ITS THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN – In Charles M. Schulz’s classic animated Halloween-themed PEANUTS special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the PEANUTS gang celebrates Halloween with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party. Cast members include Peter Robbins as Charlie Brown, Christopher Shea as Linus, Sally Dryer as Lucy, Chris Doran as Schroeder, Bill Melendez as Snoopy, Kathy Steinberg as Sally, Tracy Stratford as Violet and Ann Altieri as Frieda. (8:00–8:30 p.m.)
“TOY STORY OF TERROR!” – Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise their roles as Woody and Buzz, respectively, in Disney•Pixar’s first special for television, “Toy Story OF TERROR!” – a spooky tale featuring all of your favorite characters from the “Toy Story” films. What starts out as a fun road trip for the “Toy Story” gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this “Toy Story OF TERROR!” The cast of “Toy Story OF TERROR!” includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Carl Weathers as Combat Carl/Combat Carl Jr., Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, Wallace Shawn as Rex and Kristen Schaal as Trixie. (8:30-9:00 p.m.)
Friday, October 19
FRESH OFF THE BOAT – “Workin’ the ‘Ween” – Honey and Marvin ask Jessica and Louis to be baby Maria’s godparents, and Jessica offers to babysit her on Halloween night. But the Huangs are in for a spooky evening when they agree to help wean the baby off of her pacifier. Meanwhile, Eddie is hired by mattress store owner Harv (George Wendt, “Cheers”) for a job to make some extra money so that he can buy himself a car and ends up having to work in the creepy store all by himself on Halloween. (8:00–8:30 p.m.)
SPEECHLESS – “I-N– INTO THE W-O– WOODS” – Maya’s Halloween becomes truly terrifying when JJ attends a rave in the woods. Ray joins Dylan’s Halloween heist determined to prove he’s more than a do-gooder. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Kenneth turn the DiMeo home into the neighborhood’s haunted house. (8:30–9:00 p.m.)
Wednesday, October 24
THE GOLDBERGS – “Mister Knifey-Hands” – Despite Beverly’s wishes, Jackie’s parents allow Adam to watch “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and a disagreement between the families ensues. But Beverly dreams of facing off with horror icon Freddy Krueger (guest star Robert Englund), which teaches her an important lesson about her son’s relationship with Jackie. Meanwhile, Erica realizes she’s not as popular as she once was as she starts hanging out at William Penn Academy despite the fact she’s no longer a student there. (8:00–8:30 p.m.)
AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE – “Trust Me” – When Taylor decides she wants to go to a Halloween party, Greg and Katie disagree on whether or not Taylor can be trusted. Oliver and Cooper anxiously try to prepare for playing a game of “seven minutes in heaven” with their dates at a separate Halloween event. A pregnant Viv (Leslie Bibb) follows Katie around trying to get help preparing for her baby’s arrival. (8:30-9:00 p.m.)
MODERN FAMILY – “Good Grief” – It’s another epic Halloween full of costumes, tricks and treats for the Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker clan as they deal with huge, unexpected news. (9:00-9:31 p.m.)
SINGLE PARENTS – “Politician, Freemason, Scientist, Humorist and Diplomat, Ben Franklin” – Will is crushed when Sophie wants to tone down Halloween and invites a boy over. Poppy and the twins attempt to convince a reluctant Douglas to wear a silly costume; after he finally puts it on, he meets the woman of his dreams, who he now is sure will not take him seriously. Meanwhile, Angie struggles to tell her boss that she needs to leave work to be with her son on Halloween, leaving Graham’s costume in limbo. (9:31-10:00 p.m.)
Friday, October 26
IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN and YOU’RE NOT ELECTED, CHARLIE BROWN – This full-length version of the classic animated PEANUTS special “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” includes the bonus cartoon, “You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown,” in which Linus runs for class president. The PEANUTS gang celebrates Halloween, with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party. “You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown” – in which Linus runs for class president with Lucy and Charlie Brown managing his campaign – features Chad Webber as Charlie Brown, Robin Kohn as Lucy, Stephen Shea as Linus, Hilary Momberger as Sally and Todd Barbee as Russell. (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
Sunday, October 28
AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS – “2905” – AFV celebrates Halloween with people being scared by Halloween costumes, costume malfunctions and a music montage featuring pumpkin mishaps on an all-new episode. (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
DANCING WITH THE STARS: JUNIORS – “Halloween Night” – The remaining celebrity kids are donning their scariest costumes as they prepare to treat the viewers to some spooky dances, as Halloween night comes to “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
Week of October 29
GENERAL HOSPITAL – Halloween haunts Port Charles when the Fall Festival becomes the scene of a startling murder. (weekdays, 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT; check local listings)
Monday, October 29
DANCING WITH THE STARS – “Halloween Night” – The remaining couples will treat viewers to some terrifying thrills as Halloween Night comes to “Dancing with the Stars.” (8:00-10:00 p.m.)
Tuesday, October 30
THE CONNORS – “There Won’t Be Blood” – It’s Halloween, the favorite time of year for the Conners, but an email from the school banning certain costumes, including Mark’s, sets off an argument between Dan and Darlene. Jackie introduces someone new (guest star Steve Zahn) to the family at the Halloween party and insists that Dan vet him, only to immediately wish that she hadn’t. (8:00-8:31 p.m.)
BLACK-ISH – “Scarred for Life” – The twins opt out of the family Halloween costume for fear it will hurt their social status in middle school. Dre and Bow take it upon themselves to protect them from bullies by putting together the best haunted house and invite the whole seventh grade. Meanwhile, Junior starts spending time with a girl from Ruby’s choir and Ruby doesn’t know how to feel about it. (9:00–9:30 p.m.
SPLITTING UP TOGETHER – “Freaks & Creaks” – Lena decides to call Martin’s bluff on selling the house but is surprised when he actually begins making necessary repairs to get the house ready to be sold. The realtor, Jeannie (guest star Angela Kinsey) sends over Vlad (guest star Costa Ronin), a contractor, to deal with the structural issues she discovered in the house. Meanwhile, upset that Mae is not enjoying her sophomore year of high school, Lena invites Emma-Rebecca (guest star Milly Shapiro, “Hereditary”), Mae’s friend from camp, to visit; yet she seemingly brings a trail of bizarre and supernatural events along with her. Elsewhere, Maya finally tells Frank she is pregnant and is surprised by his reaction. (9:30-10:00 p.m.)
Wednesday, October 31
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! – Jimmy, Guillermo, Dicky, Cleto and the Cletones, and all of the show’s guest will be dressed for the occasion on an all-new episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The 13th Annual Half & Half Halloween Costume Pageant will be part of the evening’s festivities, where the show takes half of one costume and half of another, weaving them together to form one amazing hybrid costume. Past creations include Trumpty Dumpty, EmoJesus, and The Walking Bed, to name a few. Kimmel will also ask parents to join in on the YouTube Challenge”‘I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy,” one of the show’s signature holiday traditions with over 329 million combined views on YouTube. Celebrities, Fans and ET Staff Remember Their 'First Kate Spade' in Loving Tributes to Iconic Fashion Designer
Everyone remembers their first Kate Spade handbag.
Maybe you received it as a gift from your grandmother. Maybe it was the first thing you purchased with your first big paycheck. Regardless of when you were introduced to the brand, almost every girl fell in love with the variety of pieces envisioned by the brand's creator, Kate Spade.
As a tribute to the late iconic fashion designer, who died Tuesday morning of an apparent suicide in New York City, celebrities, fans and ET staffers are remembering their "first Kate Spade."
"My very first designer purse was a black, shoulder strap Kate Spade. I treasured it and was obsessed with keeping the little white Kate Spade label clean. It's funny how a purse can instantly make you feel like an adult. Rest in love." -- Olivia Munn

"I will never forget the first Kate Spade bag I got for Christmas in college. She was a trailblazer. Her life and death are a reminder that pain doesn’t discriminate. Sending love to her family." -- Jenna Bush Hager

"I remember when I got my first Kate Spade bag in high school. It was my most prized possession. My current wallet, covered in bees, makes me smile every time I see it -- it's by Kate Spade. My heart is just broken for her family and loved ones." -- Beth Behrs

"In 2010, I was on a Vegas trip with my girlfriends, and I walked into the Kate Spade store at the North Premium Outlets and saw this incredible Kate Spade typewriter bag. Working as an editor at the time at a small newspaper, I thought it was perfect for me and had to have it. Although it was a major splurge at the time, I never regretted it. To this day, it's still my favorite bag ever." -- Antoinette Bueno, ET Assigning Editor

"I was in between my freshman and sophomore year at college (summer 2004). I was suffering from a major obsession with Sex and the City, watching downloads of the HBO series on repeat and spending what little money I had on whatever designer purses or shoes were on sale. While browsing the sale table at Saks Fifth Avenue with my grandparents (our favorite Arizona summer activity), I came across this wicker clutch with a pink strap that spoke to me and fit my budget. I bought it with my own money and felt incredibly empowered. This led to many other ill-advised designer purchases until Sex and the City 2 jolted me back to reality." -- Jen Cady, ET Executive Editor
"My mom purchased my first Kate Spade purse for me for Christmas. It's the perfect combo of functional and simple, yet bold." -- Meredith Loftus, ET Senior Video Ops Coordinator

"I was late to the game in owning my first Kate Spade handbag, but I had always obsessed over them from afar. A few years ago, I took the (financial) plunge by splurging on the baby blue Brighton Park Small Sloan bag. Before then, I had never spent more than $50 on a bag, but there was something about its classic, timeless elegance that spoke to me and made me feel good. To this day, I swear by Kate Spade and the jolt of magic it infused into my life. You definitely won't be seeing me without a Kate Spade handbag or purse attached at my hip!" -- Philiana Ng, ET TV Features Editor
"During one particularly challenging professional year, I was between jobs, taking tons of meetings and feeling pretty low about myself and the entertainment business in general. One day, I stumbled across a simple but stunning grey and white Kate Spade dress (on sale, but still a splurge) and thought to myself, 'This is the dress. This is the dress to get me the job. This is the dress I can wear for everything.' And it was. Money was tight at the time, but I paired it with a practical black Kate Spade handbag, and together, they made me feel like I could conquer the world. I wore that dress and carried that bag to meetings, on-air appearances, weddings, and even the night I got engaged. They are still two of my favorite pieces of all time." -- Sophie Schillaci, ET Senior Producer/Writer/Host

"I got my first designer handbag at 15. It was Kate Spade, and I'll never forget it. The simplicity and the elegance of her designs truly stand the test of time. So sad to hear of her passing today." -- Marisa Runyon, ET Senior Style Editor
"This Kate Spade news has really gotten to me. I've purchased a few of her bags as a pat on my own back throughout my career. A TREAT, if you will, to celebrate a couple small victories along the way. There was something about her bags that made them the perfect fit for that type of occasion and sentiment. At Christmas, my sister and I surprise each other with a small Kate Spade gift for one another... a wallet, a small bag. It's one of our 'things.' I'm heartbroken to know she was in so much pain, I hope she knew what her creativity meant to so many people. But suicide is never the answer." -- Katie Krause, ET Host/Producer

"Back when I was in middle school, we didn't have the internet quite like we do today. I'd beg my mother to take me to the grocery store with her just so I could catch a glimpse of the magazines at the checkout counter. I believe it was the Olsen twins who I spotted in a photograph, rocking the signature Kate Spade cherry-print purse/tote. I gushed over how unique it was to my mom, not thinking much of it. Imagine my surprise, when, a few months later, I was given the purse as a birthday gift. Not only was it on-trend and aesthetically beautiful, but I also felt mature, sophisticated and very grown up. Kate Spade's designs had that impact on me as a young woman, and my feelings haven't changed a bit today. A month ago, I was given a gorgeous Kate Spade ring holder when I got engaged. A week ago, I purchased a Kate Spade display tray for my ET colleague, Sophie (mentioned above), as a housewarming gift. Kate Spade is quite simply, timeless. Her legacy and designs will live on eternally." -- Deidre Behar, ET Host/Producer

"Growing up I always felt that luxury items were something that were beyond my reach or that I was never good enough for. I remember the excitement & fear when I placed my first order for a Kate Spade bag. I bought it as a gift for me, to celebrate everything that I had worked so hard for and all that I have accomplished. I know in a lot of people’s eyes a $500 bag means nothing but for me it’s a daily reminder that I am worth more than ever thought I could." -- Evie Statt, fan

Northern Soul Essay (Portfolio)
What is Northern Soul?
Northern Soul is a music and dance movement that was formed and created individually in Northern England, the English Midlands, Scotland and Wales. It was formed in the British mod scene in the 1960’s.
The music of the Northern Soul movement was extremely iconic. The music mainly consists of a particular style of black American soul music, this was due to its heavy beats and fast tempos, also known as Tamla Motown sound, and the music is one of the things that sparked off the movement’s popularity.
The initial term Northern Soul was initiated in a Covent Garden record shop “Soul City”. The shop in question was run by Dave Godin, a journalist for the music magazine “Blues and Soul”. The term Northern Soul was first publicly used in one of Godin’s weekly article in the fore mentioned magazine. He later explained this when partaking in an interview with Chris Hunt for Mojo magazine that his reasoning behind the name was too help his employees at Soul City to differentiate between the more funk stylings of soul and the smoother Motown inspired pieces.
Some examples of the music were Gloria Jones’ “Tainted Love”, Jimmy Radcliffe’s “After tonight is over” and Dean Parish’s “I’m on my way”.
The Northern Soul movement was popular throughout the North of the United Kingdom, because of this there were a multitude clubs scattered across the UK.
The most popular clubs in England were:
The Twisted Wheel – Manchester
The Wigan Casino – Wigan
The Torch – Stoke-on-Trent.
Catacombs – Wolverhampton
The most popular clubs in Scotland were:
Clouds – Edinburgh.
The Music Hall – Aberdeen.
Marryat Hall – Dundee.
The Most popular clubs in Wales were:
Piranha Club & Lounge – Holyhead,
Pontardawe Arts Centre – Pontardawe.
Liquid Life – Cardiff.
What is a Stimulus?
A stimulus is an item or emotion used to aid creation when creating a performance piece. A lot of things can be used as stimuli, some examples that could be used are:
A quote. For example: “Sucking at something is the first step to being sort of good at something” could be used to create a scene in a school where someone is struggling and the teacher or a friend is helping to egg them on or to prove to them that they’re better than they think.
An image. For example: if you were given an image of an old house, you could use the image to create a piece of theatre based on the subject in the picture.
An animal. For example: if you were given a cat you could use the knowledge you have or could gain about the animal to use them to create your piece, maybe with you portraying the animal or about receiving the animal.
A person. For example: if you were given the celebrity Joey Essex you could do a piece based on him and your personal opinions of him and his apparent idiocy.
A time period. For example: if you were given the time period of World War 2 you would use that to create a scene based on World War 2.
One fact about Northern Soul.
The Clenched Raised fist symbol that has become commonly recognised within the Northern Soul Movement originally emanated from the 1960’s Black Power movement of the United States.
Evaluations on when you put the dance moves and facts together.
When we started putting our dance moves with our facts we found it difficult to start up the devising of our piece. In my group we have Myself, Georgie, Shannon, Dizai. The first day of devising our pieces I had damaged my knees and it mae it very difficult to do the moves so with our first piece we had timed it so that when I would read a fact that another member of our group had contributed, that person would start to perform Northern soul moves. I myself wasn’t performing the moves and I feel this was the biggest weakness in our piece, and I hated the piece so much, so after our feedback we went back began to work on changing it.
In our second try we were told about how talcum powder was used in the Northern soul movement, and because of this we decided that we would maintain me reading out the facts whilst the group would dance in time to the facts. This time however, we added a comical fall to symbolise the talcum powder making the floor slippery. By the end we would all be dancing. I still wasn’t feeling so happy with this piece so after we performed it once more we changed it up more so.
In our third try we were given two images to decide between to use as a stimulus; the first being an overcrowded Northern Soul club with the caption “Once upon a time in Wigan” and the other image being a picture of the shoes that were extremely popular for men in the Northern Soul movement. We decided to aim our piece more at Children and so we chose the “Once upon a time in Wigan” image to be our stimulus. We changed our setting to be in a club with friends, made our energy more heightened and made the fall more dramatic and of course we added the “once upon a time in Wigan” to our story. I was feeling a little better at this piece, however I feel it could have gone better.
For the Fourth try I was unfortunately absent during this lesson so I can’t make comment.
For the fifth try we decided to make it into a flashback scenario. Georgie and I were playing elderly grandparents, whilst Dizai and Shannon played our teenage grandchildren. We’re out on a walk around Manchester when we come across the old Twisted wheel club. Georgie and I start blurting out facts and getting all nostalgic whilst the grandchildren look on confused yet in awe. There’s then the flashback to when the grandparents were young and at the club, two younger people are watching them dance and ask to be taught. Shannon then slips on the talcum powder which leads us to explaining the talc. Dizai and Shannon then say their facts and we’re all dancing together. I really liked this piece however, the ages of the grandparents were criticized and so we decided to improve this.
Our sixth, and final idea, starts with Georgie and I sat on the sofa, playing parents, I’m reading a magazine and Georgie is watching television. Shannon and Dizai are sat flipping a bottle. This goes on for about ten seconds with me getting gradually more and more agitated before snapping at them to stop it and get on with their homework Shannon (playing Gloria) then answers back stating “What’s the point, it’s only boring Northern Soul.” This stuns Georgie and I as we start to defend the love of our youth. Georgie and I then stated that they’re named after Northern Soul artists “Gloria Jones” (artist of tainted love) and “Darrel Banks” (artist of open the door to your heart). We’re currently working on our flashback scene but we’re setting it up as though we’re telling them a story; starting with “Once upon a time in Wigan.”
3 strengths.
I feel that my first strength was my open mindedness when working with my new group.
I feel my second strength was my confidence in the piece despite not liking the initial idea of Northern Soul.
I feel my final strength was my projection, though in some areas it could improve.
3 weaknesses.
I feel that my first weakness was that at times I struggled to focus.
I feel that my second weakness was that I struggle to keep my cool with my group sometimes if I don’t feel like I’m being listened too when directing my group.
I feel that my final weakness was the fact that I’m not very adventurous with my movements.
3 Targets.
Remain calm.
Take Risks.
Keep my focus.
How did you use the image (Once upon a time in Wigan) as a stimulus?
Once upon a time in Wigan gave us the inspiration to help decide our target audience and to make our piece more in-depth. We also added it into our final piece to spark off our performance where the facts come into play.
How was Talcum Powder used in Northern Soul?
Talc was used in Northern soul to make the floors more slippery in order to aid with the twists, turns and slides in the movements as you had less friction to hold you back.
Ask relatives questions on Northern Soul.
I couldn’t gather very much information about Northern Soul from my relatives as not many of them had been into Northern Soul or had even actually heard of it. However, what I did find out was that my Grandma when she was much younger used to work at the Twisted Wheel, unfortunately she has passed on so I couldn’t get any information from her. However, my Grandad recalls her coming home with a broken wrist after having to try and break up a fight outside.
Group feedback task.
What did you learn about Northern Soul from the Shredded wheat advert?
From the shredded wheat advert I learnt the following:
New dance moves: in that I could see a wide variety of movements, using different levels and devising terms.
That they changed shoes upon arrival and departure: To ensure that they would remain in good quality and to ensure the shoes stay slippery to work with the talc to make the moves easier to perform.
The clothes were mostly bright colours: I feel this is rather self-explanatory, they used the colours to represent the joy they felt within their tightknit community of northern soul dancers.
Select/ Reject and edit task.
In the select, reject and edit task we decided to make an addition based on our year or level groups.
My year group, being Level 3, second years had to create a piece based on going into the club, the different cultures and the drug culture based around the clubs.
Sophie and I decided that we would be two cousins, however, I would be underage and using my older sister’s ID. We all decided that we would draw more focus to Sophie and I by adding a tablo or freeze-frame on everyone else. This we feel worked really well as it really drew attention to the conversation between us and increased the drama.
When Sophie and I finally got the front of the line, Sophie obviously got in without any questions cream pie asked, however, when Matt (playing a bouncer) asked for my ID he failed to believe it, which was where Sophie grabs my wrist and drags me through the door, I put my money in the box on the way past.
Later in the club Sophie’s friends are making jokes about my age, saying I’m not young enough. They then start offering me amphetamines, claiming they’re just sweets, chanting “take it, take it, take it!” with me backing away from them, before retreating to the bar to get a drink to only be confronted with the old woman who took the entrance fee, whom then starts telling me to take the amphetamines.
