I'm sorry if you've already answered this question, but is there a particular order in which Lafayette's names were given? Like, is there a reason why it's Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert or could it have been in another order? Thank you and have a nice day!
Dear @sophia-daria,
that is an interesting question! I think for the most part the order of La Fayetteâs names were based on the personal preferences of his parents and the ânaming conventionsâ of 18th century France. Just like in German âAnna-Lenaâ is a very common a name while âLena Anneâ, while still a perfectly fine name, would sound a bit off.
Besides that, we also have to take into account that La Fayetteâs names were chosen based on religious and/or family history.
His father was named Michel-Louis-Christophe-Roch-Gilbert while his maternal grand-father was called Joseph-Yves-Thibault-Hacinthe. Several of his male and female relatives also had names that started with âMarieâ.
I would argue that all of these factors came together and eventually decided the order of names for the boy. I hope that helped and I hope you have/had an amazing day!

kylian mbappé and his girls (escorts or whatever you wanna call them)
kylian is very good at keeping his affairs private, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening behind closed doors. here's a few girls kylian has invited to or hangs out with every now and then (however you wanna interpret "hanging out"):
lauren blake â from LA, has been spotted at psg games & travels to paris every now and then, follows kylian's best friend tchaga, she's been seen commenting under kylian's posts as well
daria leliuk â supposedly met kylian for the first time in 2021 in ibiza, had dinner with kylian in la mĂŽme (monte carlo) on july 27th (there's clips of kylian leaving/entering the restaurant & daria posted a pic of her at the restaurant the same day). other girls at the dinner were sophia, lola balayer & pollylingual
sophia â another girl kylian invited to dinner in monte carlo, sophia posted a story in buddha bar, an employee of the restaurant posted a photo with kylian the same night
emma duron, chiara palmas, sara hajhajate â also girls who accompanied kylian in monaco (monte carlo)
lara lourenco â met kylian at a charity event back in 2022, they were seated at the same table & left together later that night, she also followed him the same evening. she was also at his bday party last year (2023).
ines â the girl kylian was seen picking up on a yacht either last year or 2022 i can't remember. people confused her with a trans model, who happened to have the same name & similar features. she was also at kylian's recent bday party. they seem to be friends w benefits.
stella maxwell â another one of his friends w benefits, met in 2022 and has been seen at the same parties as kylian, at one party she was seen dancing very close to him. was also at his birthday party in december.
rose bertram â they both follow each other and have been seen at the same parties, she's also in paris quite often. there was this whole story about rose trying to baby trap kylian, she denied it, but i think kylian distanced himself a little after that story.
mĂ©lissa â a girl who accompanied kylian in marrakech, morocco this january. kylian took pics with fans at moroccan restaurant les jardins du lotus and melissa also posted a story of the same restaurant the same night.
georgia may heath â i don't know when exactly she met kylian, but she seemed to lowkey like the attention she was getting a lot. she dropped hints about her "thing" with kylian on her tiktok, and even added a pic to her 2021 year recap video, showing the sneakers & pants kylian wore in mykonos, 2021 (he posted a pic of the fit on ig). she's in paris a lot and seems to be accompanying him on a lot of vacation trips. she also happened to be in marrakech this january around the same time as kylian.
that's it for now, there's a few more girls he was seen with, but i don't know their names or instagram accounts, so i haven't added them here. these are just the girls he has been seen with repeatedly!
i would add pics, but i haven't had the time to gather everything, but if you guys really want it, i can add it, just let me know đ€

PERFORMANCE: MARINA PERFORMS AT SONOS STUDIO IN GEORGINE & SOPHIA WEBSTER
On April 21, 2015, Marina delivered a mesmerizing performance at Sonos Studio in Los Angeles. The event, titled "Sonos Studio + Pandora: An Evening with Marina and The Diamonds," showcased Marina Diamandis' exceptional talent and stage presence, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Marina wowed in a stunning ensemble from Georgine's Spring/Summer 2015 collection, aptly named "Cherchez La Femme."
Her attire featured a champagne-colored lurex jacket with a drawstring waist, perfectly complemented by matching joggers, adding a touch of high fashion to her already remarkable presence on stage.
To complete this chic and fashion-forward look, Marina opted for the super cute Sophia Webster Daria clear PVC slingback pumps with a cap toe in "Orange Multi." These shoes added a pop of vibrant color and playful sophistication to her attire, elevating her stage presence to new heights.

Of my magical girl ocs, only 2 knew fluent English when they joined the team, Joy and Luna.
Joy, the child of 2 teachers from New York, was taught English growing up and also encouraged to learn French, Spanish, and others, which she has reliable use of.
Luna is from Central Africa, a web artist and writer even as a teenager, learned English via internet lessons so she could publish her web-novels on popular English websites, among other things. Spent a lot of her time growing-up housebound because of her disability, so she likes the hobbies.
..
Mio and Victoria have some English but not fluent
Daria and Sophia were monolingual when they joined (Farsi and Norwegion respectively).

Alex Majoli on Artists and the Rewards of Environmental Portraiture
The photographer discusses environmental portraiture, responding to and reflecting a subject's mood and work, and the rewards of meeting artists in their own studios
Alex Majoli Wall in the studio of artist Ellsworth Kelly.(Photo by Alex Majoli and Daria Birang.) Spencertown, NY. USA. 2012. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
At 15, Alex Majoli joined the F45 bottega in Ravenna, Italy, working as an apprentice under Daniele Casadio. âI grew up in the studio, which specialized in art reproduction,â Majoli recalls. âMany times my master asked me to go to the studios of the artists while they were working to complete the catalogues. I learned that the place where one should take a picture of an artist is in their studio.â
The wisdom that an artist might best be understood situated within the environs in which they create has served Majoli extraordinarily well over the years. Although not primarily a portrait photographer, Majoliâs sensitivity to the complex interplay between his subjectsâ inner worlds and outer lives has made him a gifted portraitist of leading contemporary artists.
In the new book Magnum Artists: Great Photographers Meet Great Artists, the titleâs author and editor Simon Bainbridge brings together portraits by Magnum members of more than 100 of the most innovative artists of the past century. From Edward Steichen, Man Ray, and Marcel Duchamp to William Eggleston, Nan Goldin, and Naim June Paik, Magnum Artists offers an intimate look at a diverse array of men and women who have transformed the course of Western art.
Alex Majoli Floor of the studio of Ron Gorchov.(Photo by Alex Majoli and Daria Birang.) Brooklyn, NY. USA. 2012. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
Majoliâs environmental portraits reveal the collaborative nature of his approach and the importance of developing a space for mutual engagement between artist and sitter in the creative process. Whether photographing with Marina AbramoviÄ, Yayoi Kusama, Shirin Neshat, Ron Gorchov, James Rosenquist, Sophia Calle, Carrie Mae Weems, or Ellsworth Kelly, Majoli possesses the ability to distill the essence of each artist to reveal the space where mind, spirit, and body become one.
Majoli approaches each of his subjects from a place of discovery. He follows no template or technique, preferring to allow his subjects and the environment to inform the shape the portrait will take. âIf you go to an established photographer, the sitter knows they are going to look fantastic and great, and the result has already been written before they take a picture,â Majoli says. âThe artists saw my photography, and some of my conceptual work. They were excited because maybe they didnât know what I would come up with. Sometimes they would be skeptical, but they were also intrigued and interested in being more experimental.â
Alex Majoli Sophie Calle in her house. Paris. France. May 2011. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
For Majoli, dialogue is a critical part of the portrait process, be it through a conversation or shared activities. âEven when I have my camera in front of a person, the person can collaborate with me by suggesting a set-up they would like to try,â he says. âWe go from there to another place â that is the best part: just to be free to express ourselves. It has to be a picture of two people, not only one. Then the cross-over of two personalities materializes in the work.â
The results are a series of portraits that stand at the intersection of two creative minds, allowing each portrait to stand apart from one another by offering a unique, often-unexpected insight into the spirit of the subject. Majoliâs portraits of Sophie Calle made for La Repubblica in 2011 depict extraordinary scenes of the French writer, photographer, installation and conceptual artist in her home and studio, a space as eccentric as the woman herself. Located in Malakoff, a suburb south of Paris where Calle has lived and worked since 1979, the studio has transformed from a warehouse-like space into what she describes as a âzoo of taxidermy,â featureing a tiger, giraffe, peacock, monkey, foxes, and two large bullâs heads, which appear in one of Majoliâs portraits. âSophie Calleâs a collector. Her work is all about collection investigations that are less pictorial and all about thinking,â Majoli observes. âYou can fall in love with any man or woman, any artist you photograph, because they are so brilliant of mind.â

Similarly, Majoliâs 2009 portraits of the Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat evoke her visual language: renowned for investigating the dialects of binary thinking that inform our notions of East and West, feminine and masculine, public and private, and present and past. âShirin Neshat is so beautiful, fragile, and silent. She was dressed in black with painted eyes that reminded me of a cat,â Majoli recalls. âHer home was a minimal place in Soho [in New York] with beautiful light. I tried to [create some] symbiosis and translate what I saw. I entered her place: it was white, she was dressed in black, and the work is black and white. It came naturally to do what I did there.â

Alex Majoli Performance artist Marina Abramovic. Rome. Italy. 2005. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
It was a very different encounter compared to Majoliâs experience photographing Marina AbramoviÄ for American Vogue when the âgrandmother of performance artâ was living in Rome in 2005. âThat was a more glamorous shoot. There was a stylist on the set who came with some cutting-edge clothes. We spent a day together and had fun. She is a performer and this was evident on the shoot. I was thinking more about the glamour side than the artist side when I took those pictures. We walked through Rome and she was ringing bells at her friendsâ homes asking, âCan we take a picture here?â She also wanted kitsch: an image of her on a Vespa in front of the Colosseum, which was all her idea. I am not really into that,â Majoli says with a laugh. âThe others were much more of a collaboration.â
Alex Majoli Artist James Rosenquist in his studio. (Photo by Alex Majoli and Daria Birang.) Spring Hill, FA. USA. 2012. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
Majoli is adept in dealing with strong personalities, recognizing that within their expression something deeper reveals itself, as is the case in his 2012 portrait of American artist James Rosenquist. Majoli met the early proponent of Pop Art in his Florida studio half a century after his first solo exhibition and inclusion in the landmark âNew Realistsâ show at Sidney Janis Gallery where his work appeared alongside Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Claes Oldenburgâs.
âYou donât do so much with Rosenquist â he is a volcano of energy,â says Majoli. In an explanation of the intent, demanding look on Rosenquistâs face, he remembers, âHe was cracking jokes from the first moment of the day, and even making jokes about how his studio burned down years before all his work caught on fire. He was so immersed in what he was doing, I had to ask, âCan you stop for a second? Really. I need to take a picture.â He said, âYeah come on take the picture. I have to paint.ââ
âI asked him what he thought about [another artistâs] work that seemed to copy his in a certain way,â Majoli continues, âand he said, âYou know Alex, everybody has a mother. My mother oversaw me when I was young to wake up early in the morning and work hard. His mother says, âWake up the morning and copy James Rosenquist.ââ Majoli laughs, delighted at the memory of Rosenquistâs unquenchable pith. âIâm so glad I met these people. What a privilege!â
Alex Majoli Wall in the studio of artist Ellsworth Kelly.(Photo by Alex Majoli and Daria Birang.) Spencertown, NY. USA. 2012. © Alex Majoli | Magnum Photos
A striking counterpoint to that rollicking meeting was the time Majoli spent with American painter, sculptor, and printmaker Ellsworth Kelly in the artistâs 20,000-square-foot Spencertown studio in upstate New York in 2012. By this time, Kelly â best known for his hard-edge, minimalist works made in the Color Field style during the mid 20thcentury â was in his late 80s. There, Majoliâs approach to portraiture was just as pared back as the works of the artist himself, encapsulating Kellyâs simple color palette that underscores the geometry of forms.
âEllsworth Kelly is shy, completely gentle, and really calm. He uses crutches and usually needs to be seated, but was walking around the studio with his oxygen tank, which he had taken off for the photograph. He gave me a lot,â Majoli says. âI love that picture. Itâs not really the standard image someone would take or publish. It was dark and he was backlit, but I saw something, and I asked, âCan you stop, please?â He gave me all the time and was super sweet.â
