With @papabirdurskeks we love to headcanon that Killgar is exagerating when saying they all are born from the depths of the planet Killgaria if so they wouldn't have fathers and sons, nipples or genitals, and he wouldn't have been a child before but born direvtly as a warrior adult like he claims, so we headcanon there actually are female Killgarians but they just look and sound exactly like the males. Titties out because they are pecs just like the guys, just as strong, mean and aggressive, deep voices, and their genitalia follows the same logic as female hyenas so it's hard to differentiate them down there too. However as soon as the males were introduced to other females from other species, a lot of them grew attracted by their feminity (and boobs) and a lot prefer them like Killgar which contributed to the species' eventual extinction, only the most traditional ones and "connoisseurs" attracted to "real women" still going for their own females (Mat's Goregoth to my Hysterax)
That said, I want to headcanon this one we briefly see is a female because I said so

Ok Im here to make a special announcement! On my YouTube channel exclusively I will be dubbing the official Over the Garden Wall comics! Now these are long comic books! And it will take me a long long while to get them started because of editing and photo cropping so they won't be releasing anytime soon! I just wanted to announce that I am working on it! It is undecided if each book will be split into parts or done In one sitting but one thing is for sure, this is going to be a long process and project and will take time! Will keep you all posted on it, but aside from working on this I will do shorter comic dubs in between! Sooo yeah just wanted to announce this upcoming project I hope you all are excited!

Death By a Thousand Cuts - Brandon Carlo
Requested?  Y / N
Prompt: N/A
Warnings: Drinking, Clubbing, Swearing
A/N: This was sooo much fun to write! I hope you guys enjoy and I will be getting to the requests soon
WC: 2,872
Summary: After finally getting your dream job, you realize that you have to move all the way across the country for it. When Brandon finds out, things don’t go the way you necessarily thought it would.
Tumblr media
A huge goofy smile was on your face as you put down your cell phone. You had just finished talking with a lady from Warner Brothers Entertainment letting you know that you had gotten a job as part of the makeup crew for an upcoming film. You had dreamed of working in the film industry ever since you were little and now it was becoming a reality
But there was one problem.
The film was being shot on location, in Seattle. That’s completely fine, except that you live in Boston, with your boyfriend of almost four years, Brandon Carlo. You knew you needed to break the news to him soon since shooting started in not even three weeks and you were terrified. But, you thought it would be better to tell him now rather than later.
You got up from Brandon’s bed that you were laying on and slowly made your way down the hall to the kitchen where your boyfriend was. For some reason, each step towards him got heavier and heavier, as if your body wanted you to hide it from him. It’s not like you were randomly popping this on him, he had always been supportive of your dream of being a part of a film. It was just that you had no idea how he would actually react in the moment, he wasn’t the most stoic when it came to big and shocking news.
“Uh hey B?” You began as you finally entered the kitchen “Do you have a moment?”
“Yeah, of course,” He said, “What’s up?”
Sitting down on one of the stools, you were silent for a moment before letting out a sigh “So I just got a new job…”
“That’s great!” Brandon exclaimed, cutting you off. He was clearly oblivious to your serious tone of voice, “Where are you working? What are you doing?”
“Yeah uh… I got hired to work in the makeup department on a film… but the film is being shot in Seattle”
His face fell as soon as he registered what you had said “Oh… wow…”
“I know, it’s a lot to take in. I’m planning on moving out west in three or four weeks since shooting starts in six weeks.” You said
“It’s nice that you’re finally going to be living out your dream” He spoke
“Yeah, it’s just us I’m a little nervous about. Like I know you can’t go out to Seattle with me because you have hockey to play here in Boston, but I mean long distance is always an option”
“No” He whispered, barely audible
Eyebrows furrowed, you looked over to see he was starting at the counter “What? What do you mean ‘no’?”
“I mean I can’t do long distance,” Brandon answered and his eyes met yours. “We can’t do long distance. You know how we both are,”
“But it’s only for four months, max.” You repeated
“Babe, we can barely be apart for a road trip-”
“You mean you can barely be away from me for a road trip” You corrected him
“Okay yeah, but that’s not the point. We’re not ready for a long-distance relationship.”
“What’re you trying to say?” You asked, hoping this wasn’t going where you thought it was going
“I’m saying,” He began before letting out a sigh and running his hands through his hair “What I’m saying is that we need to take a break”
Of course, it went exactly where you thought it was going. However, that didn’t make the sting hurt any less. The words cut you deep like shattered glass had met your skin. “O-oh”
“Look, I’m sorry. We both know it was a great love while it lasted, but it can’t go on any longer.” He said, trying to comfort you, but his words only made you feel worse
“I’m gonna go,” You said “I’ll see you around” Quickly slipping on your shoes, you rushed out the door and the apartment building and into the city streets of Boston.
The air was colder than you expected it to be, but you didn’t bother to pick up the pace. You knew you wherever you were you were going to be sulking so you might as well take your time. But even though you obviously were heartbroken, you couldn’t cry. As much as you wanted to, you physically couldn’t. And honestly, that just made your walk back even worse.
Once you got back to your apartment, you changed into your pajamas, grabbed a few bottles of whatever cheap alcohol you could find and crawled into bed. Before cracking open your first bottle, you found some sappy stereotypical romantic movie on TV, and not even five minutes in it finally made you break. Tears began to slowly fall down your cheeks as you watched the movie, slowly drifting off to sleep.
The next morning you woke up confused as all hell. The TV was on and you were surrounded by wine and beer bottles and a tub of ice cream. You carefully moved all of the crap off of you and on your bedside table. Once that was done, you rolled over and reached out your arm, expecting it to rest on Brandon. However, it just fell flat on the bed. Confusion filled your mind as reasons for him not being there began to sprout.
He’s probably in the kitchen or the bathroom or something. You thought. After forcing yourself to crawl out of bed, you walked around your apartment, searching for your boyfriend. Eventually, you realized you were alone. Okay, maybe he went back to his place. I think he has a game tonight or something.
You walked back into your bedroom to get your phone to text Brandon. However, when you picked up your phone, you noticed that it was filled with text messages from some of the other Bruins, as well as your own friends, all of them asking if you were okay.
And that's when you remembered what happened last night. The exciting news you had gotten, Brandon’s reaction, the breakup, the tears, your drunk self watching that movie. You remembered everything.
As much as you wanted to grab more drinks and crawl back into bed, you knew it wasn’t going to help in the long run. So instead, you decided that you needed to get out of the apartment. You quickly got dressed and ready, then grabbed your bag filled with your daily essentials - money, gift cards, tissues, lip balm, etc. - and then headed out.
Contrary to last night, when you walked out of your apartment building and onto the city streets, the weather was warm. But even though it looked like a beautiful day, the emptiness and sorrow still remained
To be honest, you weren’t really sure where you were going. You just knew you had to walk in order for your head to clear for a while.
Somehow, you ended up by Faneuil Hall Market Place, or otherwise known as Quincy’s Market. You loved to explore the endless rows of shops and food kiosks, so of course, you went in. As soon as you entered, you were whisked away by the familiarity of the place. Ever since you were a little girl you’d come here and the magic of the place never seemed to disappear. Just like every other time you’d been there, you made it a point to stop in almost every store, starting with the South Market and making your way North.
You entered the North Market with a smile on your face, this part of the market was always your favorite for some reason. Maybe it was because of the comic book store that was in there, or the calm vibe that the place had, or maybe it was the place with the best sit down restaurants and the best food. Whatever the reason was, you absolutely loved it in there.
As you walked passed the places that you had eaten at with your family countless times, reminiscence began to creep in. Reminiscences of when you were younger, more carefree, and not tied down by any responsibilities whatsoever. You weren’t exactly longing for that time, but just looking back on the good old days so to speak.
But then you approached that tavern. That tavern where you two went out on your first date three years ago. That same tavern where he asked you to be his girlfriend. That tavern where you two began talking about your future together. That tavern that was your and Brandon’s casual date spot where you two would always get the same meal no matter how many times you said you’d try something different. That tavern where you fell in love with him.
You wanted to walk passed the place without batting another eye. You didn’t want to give that place a second thought. But your feet wouldn’t move away from the building, and your eyes wouldn’t stray away from the window that you’ve looked through innumerable times before. The tavern was the exact same since you had seen it last. Nothing had changed except for the people inside.
Your eyes landed on what used to be your and Brandon’s spot. It was a booth tucked away in the back of the restaurant - just barely visible to anyone peeking into the building. But as soon as you saw the booth, you couldn’t believe yourself. Brandon was there, or at least you thought. After rubbing your eyes to make sure you were seeing things correctly, you noticed that he was gone. You shook it off, thinking it was just a postponed hangover or something and finally continued to walk.
However, on your walk back to your apartment from the Market, you kept seeing Brandon. He was everywhere you looked, on every stranger’s face, on every billboard or advertisement on a passing bus. As much as you wanted to, you couldn’t escape him.
You looked to anything and everything for a sign that everything was going to be alright. Maybe since it was a nice day, life was going to be alright? Or maybe the smell of the gas emissions from the cars was a sign that eventually the memories of him were going to burn and be forgotten? It got to the point where you were standing at a crosswalk asking the traffic lights if you were going to be okay. Of course, they didn’t answer, because they’re traffic lights, and you got some weird looks from the people walking past, but you didn’t care. You only cared about if you were going to be fine again.
------------------------
Once you got back to your apartment, you felt the tears start to well up in your eyes, just like they did last night. You didn’t know what else to do except open your diary and start writing whatever came to your mind.
Dear Brandon, You began, after you decided the best way to put this was in a letter that you were never going to send, Do you think I could have one more kiss? I’ll find closure on your lips, and then I’ll go. Maybe also one more breakfast, one more lunch, and one more dinner. I’ll be full and happy and we can part. But in between meals, maybe we can lie in bed one more time. One more prolonged moment where time suspends indefinitely as I rest my head on your chest. My hope is that if we add up the “one mores”, they will equal a lifetime, and I’ll never have to get to the part where I let you go.
Your breath was starting to shake, and you felt yourself fighting back tears. Yet you continued to write. But that’s not real, is it? There are no more “one mores”. I met you when everything was new and exciting, and the possibilities of the world seemed endless. And they still are. For you, for me. But not for us.
At this point, you gave up trying to combat the tears, and instead embraced them. You accepted the emotions that flooded through your body and out through the pen onto the paper. Somewhere between then and now, here and there, I guess we didn’t just grow apart, we grew up. When something breaks, if the pieces are large enough, you can fix it. Unfortunately, some things don’t break, they shatter. But when you let the light in, shattered glass will glitter. And in those moments, when the pieces of what we were catch the sun, I’ll remember just how beautiful it was. Just how beautiful it’ll always be. Because it was us. And we were magic. Forever.
A few tears slid off your cheek and onto the paper as you signed your name. Once you finished up and put your diary away, you checked your phone and realized that you hadn’t replied to any of your friends’ texts. You ignored all of the texts from the Bruins and instead put all of your closest girl friends in a group chat and told them that Brandon broke up with you. Of course, everyone was freaking out about it because you two were the it couple, but you just shrugged them off.
------------------------
A few weeks later, you were starting to get over the breakup. It was late one night and you and your friends decided to  go out and have a girls night. You showed up at your best friend’s apartment and everyone who was there, including yourself was dressed up and ready for a fun lady’s night. Once the last people arrived, the group headed out.
The group ended up going to a local club that wasn’t too far from everyone’s apartments. Just like you had expected, when you walked in the music was blaring, everyone was drunk and grinding on each other. To be completely honest, you were excited about the night ahead; you couldn’t remember the last time you were single and out at a club.
Immediately, you headed over to the bar to get your first drink of the night. Once that was in your system, you made your way to the dance floor where some of your friends already were. The music flowed through your body and you began to dance without a care in the world. The night had only just begun and you already knew it was one of the best that you’ve had in a long time. No one was going to be able to ruin it.
An hour or so later you had downed a few drinks and had gotten to the point where you were grinding on guys as well. You had no idea who these guys were, but you knew you weren’t going to see any of them again so it didn’t matter. However, at one point, one of the guys turned you around so you could see his face. And as soon as you met his eyes, you stopped dancing all together.
“Jake?!” You asked, both confused and shocked
“Y/N?!” Jake asked in the exact same tone that you had a second earlier
“What’re you doing here?” The two of you asked at the exact same time
“No, you first” He said
“I’m here with some friends” You told him “Having a girls night. Now what’re you doing?”
“Uh um I’m here with a few of the guys” He answered awkwardly. He didn’t have to name any names, from him just saying ‘the guys’ you knew Brandon was here.
“Oh that’s… cool…” You trailed off “Well uh I’ll let you go and enjoy your night”
You awkwardly walked away and found your girl friends over by the bar. “Hey, I think I’m gonna get going”
“Alright, let’s go” One of your friends said
Your eyebrows furrowed “You guys don’t need to come with me”
“We’d be shitty friends if we let you go home by yourself” Another one of your friends said “Now come on, let’s blow this joint”
As you made your way through the club to leave, you happened to see Jake again. He gave you a curt nod and you responded in the same way before you looked to see he was with. Of course, it was Brandon, and with your luck, you two had made eye contact. Brandon then proceeded to check you out before giving you a pathetic version of puppy dog eyes. It was clear that he wanted your body, but after the break up, you knew he wouldn’t want anything else.
You weren’t going to try and kid yourself, part of you wanted to go back to him, you missed him. But you knew if you did, it wouldn’t end well and just put you back to square one. Even though it took everything that you had, including tears starting to form in your eyes, you managed to walk away.
At that moment, you couldn’t help but be proud of yourself. A few weeks ago, when he had just broken up with you, you would’ve crawled back to him in an instant. But that wasn’t you anymore. You knew you had a whole new life waiting for you on the other side of the country, and you couldn’t be more eager to get started.

So, @kimmycup tagged me in this game. Let’s do this. Alternately titled:
Let me rant about the difference in receiving feedback on FFN vs AO3
Because I am really getting lost in the math behind “most popular” fic. And it’s most definitely more than just “reaching a different audience” when the feedback for one and the same fic differs between over 1k comments on one site vs not even reaching 100 comments on another site.
Author Name: Takara_Phoenix
Fandoms You Write For: Okay so let‘s only involve the ones I am still actively involved with, not the ones that are like... eight years old and I haven’t thought of them once, yeah? That’d be: Percy Jackson, Shadowhunters, Marvel, Rise of the Guardians/How to Train Your Dragon, Detective Conan/Magic Kaito, Vampire Academy, Jungle Book, DC Comics/the Arrowverse, Descendants
Where You Post: AO3 and FFN, but occasionally also on tumblr - when it’s prompts or drabbles
Most Popular One-Shot: Depends on where you ask. And what you define as popular. Personally, the only value I see are in comments - kudos are literally just the press of one button, they mean nothing, and hits aren’t an indicator of much either considering it counts as a hit even when you opt out after a paragraph.
I’ve only had my AO3 for five years now, meaning that the fics on FFN still had four more years to simmer on there and gather attention, I suppose. Meaning, a fic posted for the first time obviously gets more attention than a four years later mass repost on another site.
On AO3, the oneshit with most comment threads would be How to Court the Prettiest Omega Ever in Five Years or Less, my first PJO ABOverse fic, featuring Nicercy. Which, you know, is only 37 comments on there. Seriously I genuinely blame the existence of the kudo function for the overall lackluster comment-response on AO3 because “press one button vs actually writing words”... but that’s a different conversation to be had. (I mean, seriously, in comparison, this fic has 51 comments on FFN... and it is by far not the one with most comments I have over there).
The clear winner if you look at FFN is Something Went Wrong, my first Minotaur/Percy smut fest with a whooping 116 comments. And yes. Positive. Genuinely did not expect that when after weeks of debating, I decided to post this story. *chuckles* (Again, for comparison, this fic got a total of 8 comments on AO3... eight... the difference there is staggering... Which, I’d like to tag on that, on top of the kudo-nonsense, the fact that AO3 displays total amount of comments to the readers and not comment threads is also misleading and I don’t think it helps, because I think you’re more inclined if you see it’s only 8 comment-threads in total on a fic you like vs it showing you 16 comments as the total comment-count.)
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: THIS IS TOO HARD TO ANSWER. I’d have to consult my chart, but that hasn’t been updated in ages. Because overall amount of comments means little if you don’t also take into account the amount of chapters - 50 comments on a oneshot are a lot, 50 comments on a 5 chapter fic, not so much, and 50 comments on a 50 chapter is frustrating to receive.
Okay, let me go full nerd on this one. Y’all know I love charts. There was a time where I was interested enough in finding this out that I had a chart going of all my multiple chapter fics. With a collumn on how many chapters the story had at that point in time, how many total comments on AO3, how many total comments on FFN and what, by combining those two numbers and dividing them through the chapter-count, was the average amount of comments per chapter.
However, that chart had last been updated on December 31st 2016. There’s been a lot of influx, lot of new stories and other stories gaining/losing popularity, so when I now say Meet the di Angelos with a 2016 average of 57,25 comments/chapter, that is completely exclusing ten fics I wrote since then.
Damn now I really wanna update the charts...
Also if you can’t tell by now how much actual feedback and comments mean to me, I genuinely don’t know how else to convey it... xD”
If you go by total comment-count - which, again, is misleading because you gotta keep the chapter-count in mind - it’d be Chasing Fireflies on FFN with 1749 comments (on 102 chapters. And, again, for comparison, 88 comment-threads on AO3. 88 vs 1749 is insane) and Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High on AO3 with 749 comments (on 50 chapters. On FFN that’s actually on 990 comments. Far smaller difference here compared to other stories).
Though I dunno, if you measure popular by fanart received, Summers High comes in with five, while my Chasingverse is in with 6... and multiple fanfictions written for it.
Favorite Story You Wrote: Favorite to write, or favorite to reread? There’s a difference there. I’m insanely proud of Chasing Fireflies and the plot and world I created there, the character development. I... don’t really reread it it’s over 500k long I don’t have that time.
Currently, I am really loving The Primal Instinct, it is sooo much fun to write, I get to put basically all my favorite headcanons in there, I’ll get to write Aline and Helen more and Jace’s interactions with others, it features both my favorite OT3s at once. (And it is faaar from my most popular one. Just, feel like mentioning this because my numbers-obsession may read as only writing for comments, which I don’t, I mainly write for myself. The comments are just... very, very nice treats to receive. Also, I love numbers and charts and were curious to see if there is a kind of trend there in what does receive most attention sooo...)
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Uuuh every new thing. Every time I step outta my comfort zone. Trying out a new pairing for the first time. Venturing into a new fandom for the first time. Experimenting with a new kink and wondering if this would be too much. Literally every single time, still.
How Do You Choose Your Titles: On a whim. I suck at titles. Mostly I try to force alliterations because I am a sucker for alliterations, but otherwise I do try to go with “as it says on the tin”, or I try a pun/being clever. Aside from my Triton/Percy fics. Every single fic I’ve written for them is named after a song from Disney’s The Little Mermaid franchise and I have yet to run out of songtitles to use for fics and hey, by then they’ll probably have included a new song in the live-action remake so there’s that! :D
Do You Outline: Depends. Oneshots? No. I just write those. Multiple-chapter fics? ...Depends. xD
If I have a clear vision for where it’s going to go, I do tend to divide into chapters and make myself small notes on what goes into said chapters. Mostly, it’s just a rambled “and x happens and then y” at the end though and then I see how I can make it fit into chapters.
Complete: 795 stories on AO3! Damn, I’ve been busy.
In-Progress: As of right now, 4. Because this week features my Ace Awareness 7-parter, though technically we’re right now down to 3 multi-chapter fics because the next one is only due to be released and join the rotation!
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Well, that is two entirely different things now.
Coming Soon:
Shadowhunters, Asmodeus/Jace, “The Royal Consort of Edom” oneshot on the 23rd
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Alec/Jace, “Nesting 101″ oneshot on my birthday this Saturday
Percy Jackson, Nico/Percy, “Something Borrowed, Something Green” oneshot on the 30th
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Jace, “Dancing with the Monsters in the Night” an out-side-of-schedule oneshot for Halloween
And I do think that that is what constitutes “soon”.
Not Yet Started:
HTTYD/RotG, Hiccup/Jack, “The Origin of the Blue Hoodie”, planned for November 27th
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Jace, “Set-Up by the Guard-Cats”, planned for December 4th
Descendants/PJO, Nico/Percy, Ben/Carlos, Uma/Audrey, “Demigod Defenders of Auradon”, planned for December 11th
A-and that is as far as I have planned my schedule ahead. Those three are the only fics on my personal schedule that I haven’t started working on yet. I don’t like to plan ahead too much, because then you just completely lose interest in the story by the time you get around to actually writing it.
Do You Accept Prompts: Prompts, not so much. Requests, yeah. For one, prompts always seem so demanding, while requests are more polite - and also more structured. Prompts are always like “here have one quick trope thrown at your head” and like... I do have a well-enough planned-out schedule with more than enough fics of my own set, I don’t need to try and turn one random prompt into an actual story. But if someone has a specific request, a pairing and an actual plot, that they really wanna see, I do always hear them out, I may not always like the pitch and thus not accept them all, but on the overall I do accept requests.
More inclined to accept birthday requests than random requests, because random requests would be put into the rotation of my schedule and, well come on that shouldn’t be a surprise, they tend to be pushed off then in favor of fic ideas I came up with myself because there’s nearly always more enthusiasm about writing an idea that you came up with yourself than the idea of someone else. Whereas birthday requests have a set date that doesn’t disturb my schedule and I am a big softie who has a weakness for getting gifts myself so I do like to do something nice for someone so they get something special for their birthday.
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Most excited to write? Well, that’d be the Descendant/PJO crossover atm, because that is something very new and shiny and I do love shiny, new things to experiment on. But also The Prince of Pluto, my next multiple-chapter fic that I have already started writing.
Tagging: Whoever wants to do it! <3

Archive Project - September 11, 2014 - Upcoming Fall 2014 Films
Yay! Its fall movie season! Blockbuster season is over and its time for Oscar Bait to rise! There is a lot of stuff coming out in the next 4 months, a lot of which I won't get around to reviewing. Lets take a look at what we're in for! September A Walk Among the Tombstones: Everybody loves Liam Neeson! The fall's first interesting movie stars him in something of a film noir murder mystery. The latter part of September tends to be when a lot of really underrated movies come out like Dredd, Looper, Prisoners and Rush. I have a good feeling about this one! Maze Runner: Hollywood will, for the fiftieth time this year, attempt to make the Hunger Games lighting strike again with another book adaption… This looks terrible… Tusk: If your a fan of the works of Kevin Smith your probably already dying for this one! Human Centipede with a Walrus! If your not familiar with the works of Kevin Smith… Go out and watch Clerks right now!! The Equalizer: Despite some early low reviews, film geeks are all clamming to see this movie! Hopes are high that Denzel Washington can create his own action series. Will it…? Probably not but hope so! October Annabelle: Fans of The Conjuring have been ranting about this too me for months now and i;ll take their word for it! I'm not a horror fan but this should be interesting! Gone Girl: The director of Fight Club, Seven, The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo brings us a Ben Affleck film! Theres a lot of hype around this! Should be a good movie! Alexander and the No Good, etc: This looks lame… Automata: Some critics in high places have been mentioning this a lot. I haven't seen much promotional material for it but its supposed to be a decent Sci-Fi movie! We'll see! The Judge: Robert Downey Jr. plays a Judge that must defend his estranged father in court. Sounds good to me! Crimson Peak: Guillermo Del Toro fans have been collectively flipping out about this new horror movie. Del Toro is one of the best directs of horror in Hollywood and has a strong grasp of subtlety and a morbid sense of creativity. Might be something brilliant here! Dracula Untold: This movie reminds me of I, Frankenstein… thats a baaaaaad sign…. Book of Life: Topping the list of my most anticipated movies right now is Book of Life! A Disney movie filtered through the cultural sensibilities of El Tigre with all the racism beaten out of it by Guillermo Del Toro! This movie is visually gorgeous and looks fiercely creative! I'm super excited! BoxTrolls: Have you seen Coraline and ParaNorman? YOU NEED TO SEE CORALINE AND PARANORMAN!! Also see this! A fun, creative stop motion movie by an incredibly talented team! ParaNorman flopped in theaters and BoxTrolls needs to succeed! KingsMan: The Secret Service: Matthew Vaughn's newest pick starts British SS agents in training that have to stop some sort of plot from happening! Vaughn brought us Kick-A** and X-Men: First Class! Both excellent action movies! KingsMan should be interesting! Rifftrax LIVE Anaconda: The last two live shows by Rifftrax have been amazing! The live roasts of Sharknado and Godzilla (98) were absolutely hilarious! Their next roast should be really great! November Big Hero 6: Disney is on a freakin roll!! Frozen, Wreck it Ralph and Tangled were all great animated films that managed to go beyond just being cynically made animated films. They were all genuinely great pieces of film and now they look to be about to make light night strike again! Adapting the barely known Marvel comic series the same way they approach classic fairy tales might be a stroke of genius and seeing it play out with the same energy and style of Wreck it Ralph and Guardians of the Galaxy. This is my most anticipated movie of the fall! Intersteller: Someone once said that if Nolan ever made a forth Batman movie it would have to goto space to be bigger than the Dark Knight Rises. At least part of that was true. In his first movie since the completion of the Dark Knight Trilogy, Nolan presents a high caliper Science Fiction movie about man's last attempt to stave off extinction, looking beyond into the stars for a new home. This movie might be great! Dumb and Dumber Too: sooo… This is a thing…. Theory of Everything: I haven't heard much on this but its an art house romance movie about Steven Hawking. Should be fascinating if nothing else. Fox catcher: Why am I imagining Channing Tatum as Cinderella Man here..? Fury: Brad Pit plays a WWII tank driver, fighting on the front lines with a rookie crew member after the loss of his best soldier. These men must survive the war. Should be fascinating. MockingJay Part 1: I'm not sure how to feel about Hunger Games now that Catching Fire has passed. The first movie was extremely boring but the followup was a vast improvement I rather enjoyed. From here though I don't know where the series is going to go and how well the characters work within the formula of the first two movies is beyond me.. well see.. The Penguins of Madagascar: I generally hate spinoff animated movies. They aren't always bad but they feel terribly cynical and i'd rather they don't exist. Penguins feels like a rather good idea though, simply because there is proof of concept that has me thinking this might be well thought through. The animated cartoon on Nick Penguins of Madagascar has been an intermitedly interesting exercise in cynicism but managed a few really great episodes that I enjoyed as a teenager. It helps of course that the Penguins were the best part of the Madagascar movies. This might be something great! December Paddington: A wacky British bear goes on wacky misadventures! I… don't know how to feel... Exodus: With the rampant success of movies like Son of God and Noah, Biblical epics are becoming popular again in Hollywood. Now Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Blade Runner) is throwing his hat into the ring with a retelling of the story of Moses. Despite the weird casting and crappy promotional materials, Exodus has a lot of potential and might be one of the year's cinematic highlights! Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies: What is the Hobbit Trilogy? A cynical, forced production? A party to celebrate the Lord of the Rings?  Whatever it is, these movies have been fun if nothing else. Finally the newest run through Middle-Earth will come to a conclusion. Can John Wattson defeat the voice of Khan…? Well clearly, he survives because he is in Fellowship… It'll still be cool though! Annie: I hate Annie… No amount of gimmicks and stunt casting will make me like it… Night at the Museum 3: I actually liked the first movie. It came out when I was young enough to find some enjoyment in it. The second one sucked… Now we have a long awaited by nobody third one which is anybody's guess. At this point the most interesting thing about it is that it is Robin William's last post-mortem performance so that will be fascinating. Into the Woods: This might be quietly brilliant. With Disney currently in the works on producing a full line of live action adaptions like Maleficient and Cinderella, a big production of the famed musical Into the Woods seems.. interesting… I'm not a huge fan to the musical but this might be what it takes for me to really get into it, depending on how they pull it off. The stage production is in my opinion a very disjointed story that only really gets by on its more anachronistic and surprisingly dark comedic moments. Seeing Disney try to pull it off however might be what it takes to elevate the story if they take it somewhere interesting! In any case, the cast is interesting and interested to see it. Unbroken: Angelina Jolie's directorial debut tells the story of an Olympic runner that is drafted to WWII, captured and forced into a prison camp. I don't know how good this is going to be, but at the very least it will be a strange, different sort of movie. The Interview: And to finish off the year, whats likely the thing that will finally spark WW3 with the North Koreans! Seth Rogen and James Franco are spies that infiltrate N. Korea and attempt to kill Kim Jong Un. Given Rogen's incredible recent filmography of This is the End and Neighbors, I think we are in for something special!   This will be an interesting season! Thank you for reading! Live long and prosper!

The Netherlands and the ACC
OKAY i dont even know where to start - the last week was AMAZING!!!
Me, @rexpinn and my roommate went back to Amsterdam for the 2nd time (1st time for my roommate) and we still feel like we couldn’t explore all of it;; We visited Madame Tussauds (wax figures museum), The Amsterdam Dungeon (i wanna visit all the dungeons omg), Rijksmuseum (it was so tiring but sooo worth it), the Sexmuseum (saw some scary stuff in there) and we also got a lovely boat tour through Amsterdam’s canals. And we still couldnt go through all the places we had in mind - just the more reason to visit again!
The highlight of my visit, ofcourse, was Amsterdam Comic Con!
