Day 12 Moment of Birth Part 1: Midnight

Light from houses in the city of freedom starting to turn into darkness; but not all, liveliest place in the slumbering city in the lake still filled with drunkards and music from the bard. Angel share, is night-active with drinks and socializing drinkers.

You have a meeting with your friends to discuss what to give Albedo for his birthday, Although..

 

“You guys seriously haven’t kissed yet? It’s been nearly a year”

things seemed going in the completely wrong direction “Shhh quiet please, Captain Kaeya. It’s not a big deal, I understand he wanted to take things slow” Still, there are times where you yearn for more than hugs and pecks on your face.

“Our Chief Alchemist has really taken your advice Too well, Kaeya” Lady in purple attire and a large witch hat, decorated with roses spoke up “That little genius never opened up for this sort of relationship” eyepatch man took another gulp to his mouth “I’m still surprised you managed to make him fall for you”

“Kaeya, rude” lightly zapped the one-eyed captain before turning to you “If he doesn’t make the first step, you’d need to do it” she placed her finger on your lips “Alright, alright, stop everyone” you harsh your friends before things getting out of hand “I just wanted a piece of advice on what to give Albedo for his birthday, so how did this turned to-“ Yup, that sparked your idea.

 

Both Knights of Favonius glanced at each other then back to you “Do you still need our help?”

 

The following morning you knocked on the Acting Grand Master’s room “Come in” an assertive voice flew out from the wooden door “Good morning, Master Jean. Do you know where Klee is?” “Good morning, I think she’s by the lake near Wolvendom. Oh and if you’re going to meet her, please make sure she doesn’t explode all the fish” she spoke without looking at you, eyes on massive amounts of paperwork

“One other thing, Acting Grand Master. I would be greatly appreciated if you kindly grant Albedo’s leave on his birthday” you figured your boyfriend might need a day off, in case he wanted to spend time with you and Klee “Oh right, his birthday is approaching” she glanced at the calendar “Yes of course, please do send him my regards if I couldn’t inform him myself” Closing the door after thanking her, ‘alright, off to Wolvendom’ you recalled your plan

 

Explosions can be heard from afar, the little girl should be nearby. Fish flying out in the sky, big splash easily visible. A small girl in red clothing having fun tossing bombs into stilled water. You called for her and she turned around “Y/N! Klee missed you” red coat sprinting to you, hugging you as soon as you’re in her reach By now she sees you as another sibling, despite you’re actually dating her brother. “Having fun today mh Klee?” glancing at the amount of dead fish on the ground “Yup! The kind uncle at the fishing asso..asso..” “Fishing association?” “Yes! the fishing association told Klee there’s a bunch of new fish all over Mondstadt, Klee will blast them all” You know fishing normally is better for the fish, but you let it slide for her happiness “Hey Klee, I have to borrow your brother the day before his birthday; well, tomorrow, is that alright?” You crouch down to the little girl’s height “Aw, but Klee wanted to be with big brother Albedo..” “I know Klee, but by that time you would be asleep. Would you like to help me prepare snacks for Albedo then?” “Yayy, Klee wanna help!” “Alright, keep it between us m’kay?” Holding out a pinky finger for the young one to hook with hers

 

‘And to keep Albedo busy..’ You head to the fountain plaza to one of your boyfriend’s assistants, Timaeus. “Morning Timaeus, do you know where Sucrose is?” A bit weird to start a conversation about her, since you and Sucrose don’t really get along “Sucrose? I’m not sure. Do you want me to help find her?” “No, no no no, uh, Timaeus, I need you to help distract Albedo tomorrow, mild difficulty experiment, anything” “Is that all? All Right” Scholar alchemist agreed to lend you a hand “Thanks, Timaeus”

    You headed off to your next destination ‘Alright, time for a hard part’ the last part of your plan is rather hard, you wondered if he gonna help you

 

 

“Mark it as done!” wow that was.. easy, perhaps it’s because of three high-quality bottles of wine in his hands. You asked.. or rather, hired anemo bard to play songs for the night and extra requested to let the wind carry the song to you.

In the evening, you have scouted the area you wanted to give the alchemist your gift and found the perfect place. An area where you can see both the city of freedom and the icy summit, high enough for the gentle breeze to flow, beautifully decorated with flowers and greenery. Starsnatch cliff, also the home of the flower which held meaning, the truest feelings of prodigal son, Cecilia.

 

The next day everything went according to plan. Light meal fully prepared with the help of the pyro girl, Timaeus kept Albedo busy so he couldn’t come home and caught you and Klee in action.

Quite late night when you knocked on Alice’s door, the blonde, still in his usual attire opened to greet the unknown guests. “Y/N? What are you doing here this late hour?” Judging from the angle of the moon, it's around 9-10 PM “Hey, what about me?” eyepatch covering male’s hand and he placed his elbow on the opened door, the alchemist only nodded to his presence “Evening Bedo, I would like to show you something, could you come with me please?” you don’t normally use the formal language after being with him for so long. He can sense your shyness from the way you speak and your body language “I’d love to go but Klee..”

You pointed to the man behind you “Don’t worry about little Klee, just go enjoy your time” he basically dragged the alchemist out of his house

 

 

Chitchat along the way, fingers intertwined with his “Not sleepy yet aren’t you?” you bent down and look at him in the eyes “Not at all, I’m rather excited about what you prepared for me” giggled to his answer “Good, 'cause the night is still young!” you have reached your destination, Large fabric covering the grassy ground, a basket filled with snacks lies atop, along with a flower vase to decorate the scenery. Log of wood has bags and books resting against it. The wind bringing the scent of white flowers and the tune of the harp. Moon and star shining bright, needlessly of other light sources.

“Didn’t know you had anything romantic in mind” he teased your boldness “..well, what do you think?” hiding your embarrassment and teases the alchemist back

Sitting down to the location you prepared, he started to examine the scene “There’s no musician nearby, nor to any instruments.. Am I the only one hearing the melody?” Trying to find a scientific explanation for a strange event “The wind carries messages. Was music not a kind of message too?” He wrapped his arms around your waist, drowning in the love you gave him

“Enjoying it hmm? Here, I prepared some light food for us” slowly getting plates and snacks out from the weaved basket, the fabric is soon filled with various types of dishes "You’re not gonna sit on your seat?” his arms tightened, head bury to your shoulder “..I don't want to move” it’s rare seeing him clingy to you like this “you’re adorable you know” finally commented on his action

 

“We got your favorite,” one of your dishes has turned to Albedo’s favorite “These are canapés, I chose bread base, topped with different types of savory” bite-sized dishes, you know he prefers smaller portions

Pointing to each topping one by one, explaining what each one is made of. In his eyes, you’re like a professional chef

“Bedo, check this one out” you pulled out Fisherman’s toast with clover ketchup, onions, cheese, and heart-shaped parleys “..Fish-Flavored Toast, Klee’s specialty. You’re so thoughtful, I have to thank her later” he pecked your cheek, definitely in love

“And we got desserts- after savory alright Bedo?” His hand was already reaching for the dish, you have to stop his fast hand Brownies, Berry Mille-Feuille, and a jar of chocolate chip cookies are all making him drool “Shall we dig in?” He suggested, perhaps the desserts engaging him.

Your hypothesis was turned down after seeing him having a high appetite for savory, you figured he actually wanted to savor your cooking

 

Hours passed and you both are finally full, cuddling against the wooden log, enjoying the melody floating in the air. His platinum hair reflects the elegant moonlight, half-lidded eyes resting against your neck, handheld on yours. You looked up in the sky- its almost time

“Albedo?” He replied with a sweet hum, glancing up at you “Do you know what day is tomorrow?” “..my birthday. but I still don’t understand why you chose to celebrate it tonight” “Wouldn’t be nicer to receive a gift directly after the clock strikes midnight?” Lifted his chin to face you, he’s so close to you, closer than usual

Both yours and his cheek painted rosy, he cupped your face and look deeply into your eyes. “was all this not my birthday gifts?” “nope.. would you like to find out what it is?”

 

Moon motions overhead, the clock strikes midnight, soft breeze touched exposed skin, the sound of the harp soaring in the sky. stars as the witness, Cecilia as the oath, feelings as vow sealed between the two bodies.

Hand slide by the side of his neck, placing on the backside and pulled him closer, half-lidded eyes slowly closed, chest-pounding hard, tilted your head to the side a little-

sweet lips finally placed on his loving ones, passionated and full of affection, butterflies flying in your stomach. After a while, you break the timeless kiss

Reunited - Harry Styles One Shot

Your legs bounced up and down in anticipation as you rode in the car from the airport to the house where your boyfriend was staying. It had been almost four months since the two of you have seen each other in person; thanks to a pandemic, closed borders, and being in quarantine. Your boyfriend, Harry, had gotten stuck in LA while you were stuck at your home in London. Luckily, your boyfriend was able to spend this time with some close friends, but you got stuck by yourself. 

It wasn’t entirely bad in the beginning, but then it got to be too much being alone. So, you invited Harry’s sister, Gemma, and her boyfriend over, which helped a lot. However, you still missed your boyfriend. You two talked every day, sometimes multiple times a day even with the time difference. But you couldn’t take being away from him anymore. 

Once you found out you were able to fly there, you quickly arranged it, but you didn’t tell Harry. One because you wanted to surprise him and two, you knew he would tell you not to because of your health. You are worried about traveling, but you were going to take very precaution you could and you did. 

The only person who knew you were on your way was the person Harry was staying with. They had ordered some food in that you picked up and would be delivering, but Harry didn’t know that. When you got to the house, you grabbed your luggage and the bag of food before heading to the front door. 

Butterflies of excitement and a bit of nervousness filled your stomach as you waited after knocking. You heard the door unlock and open with a swing revealing Harry with money in his hand. You smiled at him and realization finally hit him. 

“Y/N?” He gasped. “Wait.. what? How?” 

You smirked pushing your sunglasses up and putting the bags on the ground, “It’s me,” you opened your arms 

He laughed rushing to you and taking you into his arms. His grip tightened around you as your legs wrapped around his waist. He quickly pressed his lips against yours and you smiled into the kiss. 

“I can’t believe you’re fucking here right now,” he sniffled. 

“Are you crying?” You giggled wiping his eyes. 

“Yeah, but in a cool way,” he laughed. “God, I’m so fucking happy to see you right now.”

“Me too,” you smiled kissing his cheek. “I couldn’t go any longer without seeing you.” 

He smiled kissing you one more time before turning around and taking you inside, “Wait, what about my stuff and the food?” You laughed. 

“Jeff can get them,” he smirked. 

“Jeff can what now?” He asked looking at the two of you. “Hi, Y/N.” 

“Hey, thanks for letting me come,” you smiled. 

“Of course, I’ve had enough of his moping ass,” he joked. 

“Fuck you,” Harry mumbled. “Anyway, I’m never letting you go.” 

You giggled as he walked over and sat the two of you on the couch, you in his lap. 

“I see you haven’t bothered to shave,” you laughed rubbing his cheeks. 

“Haven’t really had a reason,” he laughed. “But I guess now, I do.” 

“Hm, maybe wait a bit,” you said. “It might grow on me.” 

“Oh?” He raised an eyebrow. 

“Can you two hold off on your makeup fuck session until like everyone else is asleep?” Jeff mumbled. 

“Shows where your mind is, Jeff, because we weren’t even talking about that,” Harry said. 

“You may not have said it, but you were thinking it,” you joked. 

“Shh,” he laughed.

After doing a little bit of catching up over lunch, you decided you needed a shower. Traveling always made you feel a little gross and with everything going on you felt like you needed even more. You brought your bags up to the room where Harry was staying and of course he was following you. 

He basically had stuck to his “I’m never letting you go” statement. You had to admit it was cute though. 

“Watcha doing?” Harry asked as you go through your suitcase to find something to change into. 

“About to take a shower,” you said. “And spend the rest of the day watching Netflix.” 

“Do I get to join this shower?” He smirked. 

“Didn’t you hear what Jeff said?” You pointed out. 

“Fuck what he said,” he said. “It’s been MONTHS!” 

“We’ve gone longer,” you stated. 

“That’s because we had to,” he groaned. 

You giggled, “Fine, you can join, but only because you’re annoying when you’re needy.” 

“You say that, but I think we both know that you’re just as needy as I am,” he said crossing his arms. 

“Oh yes, sooo much,” you joked. 

“Hey! That’s not very nice,” he pouted. “Are you saying you didn’t miss me or want to fuck me at all during all of this shit going on?” 

“I never said that,” you said. “There were plenty of times, but unlike you I don’t turn into an annoyance when I’m horny.” 

Harry busted out laughing, “Yeah,  you might not think you do, but baby, you do. Especially when you’re drunk.” 

You blushed, “I do no such thing!” 

“Whatever you say,” he smirked. “But I have video footage that proves my statement. 

“Oh, fuck you!” you groaned. 

“That’s what I keep asking you to do!” He laughed. 

You rolled your eyes as you walked over to him, taking his hand in yours, “Fine, let’s go, but remember, you asked for it,” you told him as you pulled him towards the bathroom.

What started out as a small and simple kiss quickly turned into a handsy make out session as the hot water rained over the two of you in the shower. Of course you were just as needy as your boyfriend when it came to the intimacy department of your relationship, but you loved teasing him about it. 

“God, I’ve missed you,” he mumbled against the skin of your neck while his hands were pressed firmly on your ass. “I didn’t think it was possible for you to get any more beautiful, but here you are.” 

“It’s only because you haven’t seen me in forever,” you giggled. “But thank you for the compliment.” 

“Nope, it’s the fucking truth,” he whispered. “You’re so fucking fit. I don’t even know if you’re real.”

You laughed, “Well, you definitely used this time at home to your advantage,” you smirked running your hand over his chest and down his stomach. 

“It’s the damn bread,” he laughed before pressing his lips against yours. 

You wrapped your arms around his neck, deepening the kiss, as he pressed you up against the wall of the shower. 

“I love you,” he whispered kissing your nose. 

“I love you, too,” you smiled with a scrunch. 

Then without notice, he pulls away from you to grab the shampoo and pouring some into his hands. You turned around so your back was facing him as he started applying the shampoo to your hair, gently massaging it in. When we was done, he moved your hair to the side and placed a trail of kisses along your shoulders and the top of your back before helping you rinse off your hair. 

Next up was the body wash and he made sure to take his time as he applied soap all over your body. As soon as everything was rinsed off, you quickly turned off the water and got out of the shower. 

“Hey, where are you going?” He whined. 

“Can’t keep wasting water,” you said drying off with a towel. “I figured we’d just move out here.” 

He got out of the shower and went straight over to you, not bothering with a towel. He smirked picking you up and sitting you on top of the bathroom counter. 

“Don’t mind if we do,” he said pressing his lips against yours. 

You wrapped your hand around his biceps as he kissed you before moving his lips down your neck. Your hands quickly moved to his wet hair as he took your chest into his mouth. 

“Fuck,” you mumbled pressing your body closer to him. 

After a few minutes of attention to your chest, his lips move slowly down your belly before stopping where you want him most. You looked down at him as he stared at you with smile. The moment you felt his lips against you, it was like you lost all control over your body. You also couldn’t believe just how long it had really been and you knew that was why your body was reacting in such a way. 

You bit your lip as you tried stay as quiet as you could, only allowing a small whimper to leave your lips. But your boyfriend was having any of that. 

“You know I prefer to hear you,” he whispered against your inner thigh. “Should I stop? It doesn’t seem like you’re enjoying it.” 

“Don’t you fucking dare,” you glared at him. “It’s rude to not finish what you started.” 

“Well, then, we can’t have that, can we?” He said. 

“Fuck,” you cried out knowing you could no longer keep yourself quiet. 

The only thing your body was focusing on was the pressure building up and needing a release. 

“Come on, baby,” he whispered looking up at you. “You’re almost there.” 

You fingers pulled the wet strands of his hair, causing him to moan against you and speed up his movements even more. Your body began to shake and your legs tried to close, but he forced them to remain open. Moans, gasps, and a bit of shouting began to leave your from your lips until finally your body found its release and a wave of pleasure coursed through your body. 

His movements slowed down before he kissed up your body and finally pressed his lips against yours. 

“So fucking good,” he mumbled against your lips before picking you up and carrying you to the bed. 

You didn’t waste any time before rolling him over so he was laying back on the bed. You straddled him, leaning down to kiss him before lowering yourself down on him. Neither of you moved for what felt like minutes as you savored the feeling of being together again. When you couldn’t take it anymore, you moved your hips slowly against him as you looked down at him. 

His hands were on your hips helping to guide you. You pushed hair out of his eyes as you placed your forehead against his. His hands moved up and down your back.

“Fuck, I love you,” he mumbled. “So fucking much.” 

“I love you, too,” you mumbled back. “Fuck.” 

He pressed his lips against yours before rolling the two of you over so you were laying on your back lacing his fingers with yours until both of you were finished, letting it be known.

The two of you laid wrapped up in each other’s arms as you tried calming your breath. He reached over pushing a strand of hair from your face and planting a kiss on your forehead. You smiled moving closer towards him which was quite impossible giving how close you already were. 

“You never did tell me how you managed to get here,” he said. 

“Well, some of the airports opened up and I decided to take my chance,” you said. “I took every precaution, but it is recommended I say at home for the 14 days just in case.” 

“I wish you didn’t risk anything, but I can’t say I’m not happy you’re here,” he said. 

“I know, I know,” you sighed. “That was one reason why I didn’t tell you beforehand because you probably would have told me to stay.” 

“Probably, yes, but I wouldn’t have been happy about it,” he said. 

“And let’s be honest, I probably would have shown up anyway,” you giggled. 

“And I would have only been a little bit upset,” he laughed. 

“Do you think we should get dressed and go hangout in the living room?” You laughed. 

“Nope,” he said. “We’re staying right until at least dinner.” 

“So, I can take a nap, then?” You asked. 

He laughed with a nod, “Yes,” he said kissing your head. 

You smiled wrapping the bedsheets around you and your legs around him. He smiled placing his head on yours before you both closed your eyes happily knowing you both were finally reunited.

One Chance part 8

*This chapter was not suppose to come out like this out all, but what I wanted to add didn't seem right without this piece sooo I hope you enjoy!! Feel free to give me prompts on what you would like to see!! *

Warning: mentions of sexual and physical abuse

She woke Wednesday not feeling her best. She went to her first class at school but ended up leaving after that. She didn’t have the energy or will power to continue her day. 

 She had to call her lawyer and let her know that she wouldn’t be able to make it in person to their meeting. But, she did let them know she could do it over the phone. Jude didn’t want to push things back. She just wanted to get it over with. 

And that’s exactly what they did, they went over every detail on the phone in preparation for tomorrow. Jude was stressed about it. She was nervous. What happens if it doesn’t go as planned? 

Cardan called her at lunch, worried because he didn’t see her again in her other classes but she let the phone go to voicemail. She didn’t want anybody to know she felt bad. You know, she has to put up that good front. 

But, Cardan took matters into his own hands. Instead of going to lunch somewhere, he goes right to Jude’s door. 

He knocks and says, “Hey Jude, are you in there?”

Jude rolled her eyes, but tried to be a good friend and kept her groan of annoyance quiet.

“Yeah, come in.” She said in a weak-ish tone. 

When Cardan walked in Jude was in her bed wrapped in her blankets.

“Are you okay, Jude?” He walks over to her and sits on the edge of the bed. He was clearly worried. 

“Yeah, I’m fine.” He didn’t quite believe her.

He put his hand on her forehead and cheeks to check for a fever. When that was okay, he said, “You look pale. Are you sure you're okay? Have you eaten anything?” 

“Well I’ve been nauseous and I have a gigantic headache, but I’m okay. It’s probably because of the recent stress I’ve been through. And no, I haven’t felt like eating.” Jude’s heart broke to see this side of Cardan, concerned. 

Cardan got up, walked outside her bedroom, and looked around the small dorm room and saw bread and a toaster. 

“Would you eat some toast if I fixed you some?”

Jude nodded. 

Cardan quietly left and Jude was trying extra hard to focus on the noises so she could make sure he was actually fixing toast and not snooping.

All of a sudden Cardan yelled, “Do you mind if I fix some for myself?” Jude flinched at the loudness of his voice.

“Yeah I don’t mind.” 

Soon enough he comes into her room carrying two plates of toast and two cups of orange juice. Jude sits up and Cardan lays the tray on the night stand beside her. 

“Here is your food, Princess.” Cardan says playfully.

“No, no not princess, Queen.” 

“Yes, Queen Jude, forgive me.” 

They both started laughing at each other. Jude patted the empty space beside her for Cardan to sit on so he wouldn’t have to eat standing up.

He raised his eyebrows and said, “Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I’m not going to make you stand there and eat while I’m sitting here eating.” 

He walked around the bed and sat down with his back against the headboard. 

They ate in silence until Cardan looked at his phone and realized the time. 

“Oh Jude, our next class starts in ten minutes.”

He hadn’t realized how long he had been with her. They ate and watched a show on Netflix on Jude’s phone and the time went by fast. 

“Oh ok. Well, thank you for checking in on me. And for taking care of me.” Jude said while a blush covered her cheeks. 

“It was no problem, really. Even though you don’t feel well, I still enjoyed it. It was a nice, silent company.” 

He was about to walk out of her bedroom door when he turned around. 

“I’ll call to check on you later, get plenty of rest and if you need me - and I mean need me for anything- call me. I promise I’ll come.” 

“Okay, Cardan, thank you.” 

He just nodded his head at her and left. He was quite pleased with the impression he made today. He gets to his one chance back, and by God, he is not going to ruin it. 

Taryn called Jude about an hour after Cardan left. He must have told her I wasn’t feeling well. Or maybe she asked about me? Which would be surprising since Taryn has never given two scents of care about me. But, hey, people change, right?

“Hey Jude, Cardan told me you weren’t feeling well. Are you feeling any better?” There was so much sincerity in Taryn’s voice. 

“Yeah, I’m actually feeling much better. The headache is still lingering but the nausea is much better.” 

“Okay that’s good. I’m going to stop by and see you later if that’s okay.” 

“Yeah, Taryn that’s fine. Well, I’ll see you later.” 

“Bye.” Taryn hung up the phone.

That’s weird. Taryn wants to hang out with me, instead of Locke. She never wants to do that, like never. Maybe she misses me. I doubt it. She is probably wanting something and is being nice to me to get it. Jude is always scheming about things. Always thinking. 

Not too long after that Taryn walks in and sees Jude in the bed, sitting up. She looks much better since Cardan has been there but she is still trying to fight off the headache that still lingers. 

“Hey Jude, how are you doing?”

“Much better. Do you need anything?” Jude said quite sharply. 

Well she just cut to the chase. Her wanting to know things fast is getting the best of her.

“Umm, I came to see if you needed anything. I thought I would be nice company, instead of you being lonely. Why would you think I wanted anything?” 

Jude clears her throat before she says, “Well you chose to come over here rather than hang with your precious Locke.” 

Jude saw sadness in Taryn’s eyes as she said, “Have you not noticed?” 

Jude just raised her eyebrows in response so Taryn continued, “Me and Locke aren’t together anymore.” 

Jude put the biggest smile on her face. “Well it’s about time.”

Taryn stood up and started to walk away. She was hurt by the way Jude showed no sympathy to her. Hurt that Jude didn’t care. 

“No wait I’m sorry, Taryn.” Taryn stopped and turned to Jude so Jude continued, “Why did you break up?” 

“He thought it was acceptable for Valerian to violate you. He knew of the plan and he let it take place. He could have stopped it. Could have told somebody. But no, he didn’t. So not only did he lose his friend, he lost his girlfriend.” There were tears running down Taryn's cheek now. 

Jude couldn’t believe it. Taryn broke off the relationship because she obviously loved Jude more than him to know there was a boundary. There was a line. And Locke crossed his line. For Taryn, he lost his chance. 

Jude had been so caught up in herself that she didn’t even realize they weren’t hanging out anymore. She was so distracted that she didn’t notice her sisters own pain. Not just sister, twin. She felt kind of guilty.

“Taryn, you did that for me? You broke off your relationship basically for me?” Jude was shocked.

Taryn nodded and sat back down on the bed. Jude drew her in for a hug. It was her turn for Taryn to cry on her shoulder. Taryn did it for her, it was time to give the same thing back. 

Taryn ended up staying for a couple of hours and they watched a movie and ate popcorn. They both could say that they really enjoyed the presence of each other. They missed times like these. Missed this bond. 

Cardan texts her during the movie to check up on her. 

C: Hey, feeling better??

J: Yeah I’m feeling much better. Taryn is over. We’re watching a movie.

C: Okay, enjoy your movie. Text me if you need me. 

J: Yes, sir. 

Jude could just see him rolling his eyes at the “yes sir” she gave him. 

When Taryn left and she was alone, she had to call one person. She knew the news that she had to tell would benefit him to know. It was no other than the Ghost. 

“Hey.” Ghost said softly.

“Well hello Ghost, I’ve got something to tell you?” Jude was trying to keep her voice cool and calm but she was just so excited. 

“Please, amuse me.” 

“Taryn is no longer dating Locke, that means she is up for grabs. That means I would take your chance while you got it.”

“You have got to be kidding me, you called me for this?” His voice was a little shaky, probably nerves.

“Of course I did. I’m not stupid I know you probably already know because you observe everything quite well, but I’m here to push you further. There is no other possible future brother in law I rather have than you.” Jude said in a quite sarcastic, cheery voice, but he knows she means it wholeheartedly. 

She could basically hear the eye roll from him, “I’m flattered, Jude, but I can’t.” 

“And why is that? Are you crushing on someone else? Woo wait, do you have someone else?”

“No, no Jude, I have nobody, I just can’t talk to her. It might be too early to ask her out. She probably is still hurting, or what if she rejects me? That’s so embarrassing.”

“So what? Are you just going to wish from a distance? And let me tell you, she is ready. The quicker Locke is off her mind, the more I don’t have to worry about her going back to him.” 

“I don’t know, Jude”

“Great, it's a plan. Tomorrow you will ask her to come to lunch with us.” 

“Uhh, Jude-” Ghost began.

Jude interrupted, “No buts.”

She heard Ghost groan and an even bigger smile spread across her face, “fine, fine, I’ll do it. 

“I know you will.” 

“Goodnight, Jude.”

“Night.” 

Jude went to bed that night feeling victorious. She was so excited to see how this pans out. She is pretty sure it will go great. 

It’s Thursday. The day Jude has been waiting for. She has to go to court for the Valerian situation. She is not feeling too bad. She just has this gut wrenching nervousness in the pit of her stomach. But, that’s to be expected. 

Jude does go to her morning classes first though. All her friends know what today is for her so they try to calm her as much as they can but Jude is defiant in help, but they do try. 

Before they left school to eat lunch, Jude pulled Ghost to the side. 

“Okay, When she walks out those doors, you're going to go ask her.” 

“JUDEEEE.” Ghost groaned.

All Jude did was smile and watch. When Taryn walked out the school building, going down the stairs, Jude nudged Ghost forward as if to tell him to go. And that’s exactly what he did. 

When Taryn was walking to her car, the ghost stopped her halfway in the parking lot. 

“Hey - Hey Taryn, would you like to go eat lunch with us?” You could hear the nerves in his voice.

 Then he motioned to his friends by the Bomb’s car. Jude looked and waved. 

“Did Jude put you up to this?” Taryn asked looking at Jude then back into his hazel eyes. 

“Umm no not really. I’ve wanted to ask you but you were with…. and then I didn’t have the nerve to ask you after so now she is just encouraging me.” Well that is not where he wanted this to go.

But his fears finally vanished when she touched his upper arm and said, “Yes, Garret, I would be delighted then to eat lunch with you.”

They all had a really good time. Ghost had the biggest smile on his face and the rest of the gang didn’t miss it. They knew he was beyond happy. Unfortunately Jude’s happiness came to an end when she looked at the time and realized she had to go to the Courthouse.

Jude gets to the courthouse and she sees her lawyer. They set her down up front. About five minutes later, Valerian, a police officer, and his lawyer walk in and sit on the other side of her. 

Valerian is in handcuffs, and is wearing the ugliest orange jumpsuit. He looks mad, really mad. He is giving her a stare of pure death, but Jude gives him the purest smile, trying to hide all the nervousness she is feeling.  

The judge starts with why he is here and goes over the details that she has read upon. They then asked Jude to come up front and sit, and tell her part. She shows them the pictures of what valerian had done. 

Valerian lawyer tries to downplay everything. The lawyer knew he would be serving time, but he was trying to lessen it.

Unfortunately for Valerian, fortunately for Jude, his lawyer wasn’t good enough. Or Jude’s lawyer was just too good because the judge went over the information again and she proceeded to give Valerian his sentence. 

“You are guilty.” 

Valerian would be spending the next couple of years in prison for sexual abuse, and physical abuse. Jude was happy. Happy that she didn’t  have to see that face for a long time. Maybe prison would change him. 

She gets back to her dorm and it is about 5 o’clock in the afternoon. She calls Cardan and tells him everything. Cardan is proud of her. Proud that she put her foot down. Proud that she went through with the whole ordeal. Proud that she won.

I went to the beach today, and it was amazing!!

Crush was sooo excited to go. He was high-energy all day. Him and I spent the whole day together, listening and dancing to songs in the car as we drove. The drive itself was actually really nice; I always enjoy driving through the intensely-forested areas of Oregon.

We got to the beach, and it was actually really pleasant. In the past it was so cold that I needed to wear a winter coat, but this time I only needed a light jacket. The air smelled salty and kind of nice; just like a faint whiff of sunscreen, which I thought was odd.

I let Crush run off as I made my way to the ocean. The first thing I did was to give an offering to Njord, and to ask for his blessing. I tore up some breads and threw it into the sea, and also gave a gift of my own energy, as instructed by Skadi. I also gave Skadi’s regards. I could’ve sworn I saw like a heavily bearded figure for a moment, but I’m uncertain. But I did feel that my offerings were accepted with grace. 

I walked with Crush for a while, eating some lunch and enjoying the waves. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since he came to me; so much has happened, it feels like it’s been wayyy longer.

I then spent some time charging some rocks and crystals with ocean energy. I think I did it right; I realized half-way through that I could kind of do some programming with them, but I decided not to, and just channeled into them how I normally do. I hope my friend likes her crystals!

After spending some more time there, I drove home. It’s been a long day, and I’m definitely beat, but it was 100% worth it. I haven’t been there in a while; I missed it. I only wish that the pandemic had subsided so I could’ve explored some of the coastal towns.

You were absolutely, completely, off your head drunk; a condition for which Loki was solely to blame.

“No work today.” He had said. “We must speak with lawyers, and that is work enough.”

He's been right. You had thought about teasing him for his perceived laziness: imagine calling off all your princely duties, just because you had to talk to someone!

But talking to the lawyers was excruciating. They were frighteningly serious, determined to get every last bit of information out of you, calm, cold, and unsympathetic. They had to be; it was an important part of their job. You didn't blame them for it, but having to re-live the experience two separate times-one for the prosecuting lawyer and another for the defending-was exhausting.

They hadn't let you and Loki be in the same room while they were asking their questions, leaving him irritable, and you an anxiety-riddled mess by the end of it all. The sticky honey buns you had made that morning hadn't stayed with you, and so, after they lawyers had satisfied themselves and left, he had whisked you away to one of the little private dining rooms to the side of the banquet hall, and ordered a lot of food, a lot of drink, and one of Beli's apprentices to provide music.

Loki himself had served you, in a reversal of his usual role. And you had allowed him, and now you were totally drunk.

He'd served you something he called 'crystal mead'; a sparkling, bubbly drink that changed color depending on how the light hit it.

“This is very young.” He had said. “So it should not be too potent for you.” It was so delicious, that you couldn't seem to stop drinking it, and even the food had not saved you from drunkenness.

You swayed to the music, unfamiliar but beautiful, trying to hum along. You thought you were doing pretty well, but Loki snickered every time you tried.

“It appears you have proven me wrong, my dear. Be proud. Precious few have ever done so.”

“Ooohhh, I'm Loki, and I'm soooo smart, and never wrong!” You snarked thoughtlessly. “I'm sooo strong, and soo handsome, and I've got everything under control.”

Loki grinned widely. “Your accent is off. If you are to impersonate me, you will need more practice. Tell me more about how handsome I am.”

“You hush! You know how scared I am? I don't wanna go! I don't wanna see that guy again, and I'm tired of almost dying! Can I stop?”

Loki sighed. “You have my permission to stop almost dying. I...well, I can't say I'm exactly the paragon of not almost dying, but I'll do what I can to keep you from also almost dying.”

“Howwww many times have you almost died?” You asked.

“Eh, three or four times.” He shrugged. “Not that often, in the long run.”

In the long run. In a life of thousands of years, perhaps that wasn't very many. Still, you were pretty sure that Saldis had never almost died, so maybe it was much worse than he was trying to make you believe. To you, it was still an unacceptable number of times. Surely Loki could not be allowed to die before you did. It just didn't seem right.

You patted his hand sloppily. “Loki. Loki, Loki, Loki.” You repeated. “That's way too much. Don't do that any more. You've used up all your turns, so you have to stop.”

“Well, since my Seidkona commands...”

“That's right! I'm Seidkona, so listen to me!...I still don't wanna go. But I'll go. Gotta do the right thing.”

“Well, not always...” He trailed off. “But if you're feeling brave, then yes. Do the right thing. In this case, it seems that duty commands it.”

You started to take another drink, but Loki stole the mead right out of your hands, and replaced it with an apple juice.

“Wha? Hey! Gimmie that back!” You protested. “I'm not done!”

“I'm afraid you are my dear. We can't have you so drunk this early in the day, can we? It's not even dark out yet!” The teasing was heavy in his voice. You crossed your arms and huffed.

“It doesn't get dark anymore!” You grumped. “Night time doesn't exist! The stars are lies, and the moon is a ghost!”

“Poetic, but you still cannot have any more. Here, have some bread instead. This one has that jam you like so much.” He always seemed to make sure that jam was there. You chewed the bread as if you were angry with it.

“I miss Phil.” You mumbled. Loki crooked one perfect eyebrow.

“Who is Phil?”

“My philodendron. He's special. He's as big as me, and he had variegated leaves. That's pretty rare. Normally they're really expensive, but Tara got me a cutting from her aunt, and I raised it...raised it up...I hope he's doing all right...” You choked the words out around the sudden lump in your throat, and Loki went from teasing to concerned in less time than it took to look.

“_____, I-”

You buried your head in your arms and let the tears burst out.

“I haven't talked to Tara in months! I haven't even sent her a letter! I almost got killed, and I didn't even leave her a note to say I was okay! She's my best friend, and I just forgot her!”

“N-now, now, _____,” Loki quickly, giving your back an awkward pat. “I'm sure she understands that your life has taken an unforeseen turn, and that you simply aren't as available-”

“I haven't paid my rent!” You wailed. “They probably sold all my stuff! Or trashed it! My plants! My cookbooks! My sketches! I can't replace them! My plants counted on me, and I abandoned them to go play fairy tale in some mythical world, where it's never night!”

A gesture from Loki sent the minstrel away, leaving just the two of you, you still sobbing onto the table, and Loki at a loss for what to do. Finally, he settled for draping one arm over your shoulders, and letting you decided the level of comfort you wanted.

“If you would like, we can contact your father, to see if he salvaged any of your belongings.” He offered. “If not, I intended to take you into town to get a few things for yourself anyway. We are going to be providing you with a cell phone, so you will be able to contact your friends and family. You haven't abandoned anyone, you've just been temporarily unavailable. Don't fret now, my dear, let all that stress go...”

He let you cry yourself out, offering the occasional coo or murmur of encouragement, and a handkerchief, as soon as you were done. It was, of course, brilliant green, with golden embroidery, and you almost felt bad for utterly wrecking it with your nose. Loki seemed to think it could be salvaged though, tucking it away somewhere in his magic pockets.

“Here, eat your bread now.” He said, pushing the plate at you once again. “And no more mead for a while. We will have to find a formula you can withstand. Your mortal blood is far too thin for our alcoholic accomplishments.”

“Rude.” You muttered, gobbling bread.

“Which do you think?” Loki asked from in front of the full length mirror, holding up two sets of his horns. “The full helmet, or the hollow top?”

“Perhaps we should avoid wearing anything that could be considered martial in nature?” Thor suggested, sounding terribly bored.

“Hm, you think so? Well, I do have a set that more of a coronet-”

“Just braid your hair and be done with it, you insufferable dandy!”

“You can't call me a dandy!” Loki huffed. “You have beads in your beard.”

“They hold the braid in place, and they make me look dashing.” Thor preened.

“They make you look like a barbarian.”

“You are simply envious that I have a beard to put beads in!”

“Oh yes, so greatly do I regret my inability to fully cultivate the 'filthy vagrant' look! Whatever shall I do, with only my impeccable fashion sense to back me up?”

The brothers bickered and debated every thing from armor, to accessories, to footwear, eventually settling down so that Thor could wind green ribbons into his brother's hair.

You had been provided with a weeks worth of dresses, each finer than anything you had ever worn. You had never even imagined your wedding dress-if you ever got to have a wedding-would be of such high quality. Gratifyingly, you could tell that some of them were older, altered pieces, which you tended to prefer for practicality's sake. Even more gratifying: they weren't all green.

You, and Saldis, and Brunnhilde, and Borgliot had all been gathered in the King's chambers very early in the morning-or very late at night, with the sun misbehaving so, it was impossible for you to tell anymore-to prepare for your journey to the city. The king had said that it would take the better part of a day on horseback, and that the trial would likely not last long, as the defendant had pleaded guilty, with no remorse at all for his crimes.

Reservations had been made for a weeks worth of time, and Loki promised you that, whatever moments were spent outside the trial, you could chose to spend however you wished. Saldis would be coming along, for she spoke Icelandic as well as English, and could read it too; she would be there to translate things for you during those times that Loki had to be parted from you, and she was to see to your care and attire. She bubbled with an excitement you thought it was far too early-or late-for, showing you the intricacies of wearing a snake-shaped pen-annular brooch that twisted and turned in your hands like the very reptile it resembled.

“How...again?” You asked, unable for the life of you, to get the long pin in the right place. You'd been gifted a gorgeous deep blue cloak that was sure to keep you warm; Loki had been very solemn and proud to wrap it around your shoulders, but he hadn't bothered showing you how the pin worked when he'd handed it over.

“Just like this, my Seidkona.” Saldis said, fastening the brooch with a quick movement. It looked so simple when she did it.

You sighed. “I feel like a child.” You complained. “Can't even dress myself.”

“High class clothing is complex.” Saldis explained. “Most nobles cannot dress themselves.”

“Besides, you kinda look like a child too.” Brunnhilde said, offhandedly, as she twisted her braided hair into a tidy topknot. “Mortals are all pretty small, but your little body, on that little horse...you're going to look like an elf.” At your crestfallen expression, she hastened to add. “But that's fine. Elves are considered lucky. All of the shorter Asgardians you see have Alfar in their backgrounds.”

All of the shorter Asgardians were still half a foot taller than you. Being short wasn't something you'd ever really noticed, before coming here. Among other humans, height variance felt far less pronounced.

“Methinks thou hast 'hashed it', my general.” Borgljot jested. “Our dear mortal is surely no child.”

You caught her gazing appreciatively at the way the diagonal elements in your clothes flattered your figure, and you grew a little warm. You hadn't been awake long enough to be able to appreciate flirting from anyone, let alone a six-foot-three warrior woman from space.

Brunnhilde nudged her sharply. “Mind your manners.”

“She is not incorrect.” Loki called from near the mirror. “I happen to know that my Seidkona is very much a woman.”

You took in a deep breath, but decided not to tell him off in front of everyone. Later. Borgliot's impudent grin faltered as she glanced from the prince, to you, to Brunnhilde, who simply gave her a very pointed look. Her face fell, and she said nothing else.

Loki came to guide you to the horses, while Saldis gathered your luggage. Thor had convinced him to wear no armor at all; instead he had girded himself in an intricately beaded tunic made of velvet so plush that your hands itched to touch it, and trousers so well-tailored that your eyes simultaneously screamed to keep looking and to turn away. It was practically scandalous, and you were embarrassed by how intriguing you found just this one set of clothes.

Thor was also resplendent in his finery, with his doublet and red cloak, and shining buttons, his ribboned hair an opposite color match for his brother. It was a nice touch, in lieu of crowns.

In fact, the entire entourage was absolutely majestic, and you felt like a dog someone had dressed up in a matching costume. Your clothes were right, but you were out of place.

Maybe it was just the apprehension you still felt towards seeing your would-be murderer again, or towards being in a court of law. Being out among humankind again, knowing that some of them saw you as a traitor to your species.

“Would you like to ride the same horse as before?” Loki asked you, as the stablehands led Leynarodd out to him. You nodded. Technically, that horse deserved justice as well.

A loud and happy whicker caught your attention and you glanced around in search of the animal that could have made the sound.

“Who was that?” You asked. It wasn't Leynarodd, who was contentedly munching the apple Loki had offered her, and it certainly wasn't the shaggy, placid little beast that had been brought to you.

“Oh, that was the other horse I rescued from Ragnarok.” Loki said with a little smile, stroking Leynarodd's broad forehead.

The thumping of hooves grew, odd-sounding, almost like striking iron. The animal that approached was enormous; bigger than Leynarodd, bigger than any horse ever was or could be. He was shining silver-gray, ribbons and bells in his mane and tail. Thor perched atop his back like a scene out of legend, and, if all eight hooves striking the ground with the sound of metal were any indication, that's exactly what this was.

“Is...is that...?” You breathed out in awe. This creature was equal parts beautiful and terrifying, his perfection and wrongness impressed into your mind. It occurred to you that no one had ever said animals could not be gods as well.

“It is.” Loki said proudly. “Saddle up, my dear. Not all of us can keep Sleipnir's speed, and we have a long ride ahead of us.”

You mounted your sweet, small horse, who seemed not at all perturbed by the legendary beasts she was expected to travel with. Perhaps you ought to try to be more like her.

“Can you tell me this girls name?” You asked.

“Believe that one's Acorn.”

“Acorn?” The horse's ears perked, and you hugged her neck. “Oh, that's so cute!”

“And somewhat ironic, considering there are no oak trees here, so she's likely never seen one. Onward! The day is young.”

The procession wended slowly through the streets, the people gathering to solemnly wish you all well. This was not a situation that called for celebration; instead, the people waved squares of gray cloth, and played slow drum beats on the corners.

“It's to symbolize that we are going to a battle who's outcome is uncertain.” Loki explained. “Legal battles should be able to go either way, in the nature of fairness. But we know how this will end, if not all the details.”

The drums faded behind you as you reached the edge of the city, replaced by a slightly different sound; that of chanting. Angry chanting.

Past the gate, past the increased number of einherjar, blocking the road out, was a crowd of people, chanting louder and louder at the approach of your little cavalcade. Most of them were carrying signs, and too many of those had your face on them.

Dread rolled down your bones. Was there any possibility they were there in support? The red slashes you saw through your own face put those hopes to rest.

What had you done to deserve this?

It looked as though Loki was suffering the same treatment, with signs and chants, but aside from a slight scowl, he showed no signs of acknowledging the hostile crowd. Trying to take a page from his book, you turned away from the people, and fixed your eyes on Leynarodd instead.

Beautiful, shining Leynarodd, and her beautiful, statuesque rider. Just stay next to them, and you would be safe.

Someone broke free of the chanting ranks, darted into the procession, and grabbed you by the hand. You turned to look down into possibly the least expected-and least welcome of faces.

“Todd?” You squeaked, disbelieving. He couldn't be here. You didn't want him here! You hadn't seen him in over a year, and there was a good reason for that!

“_____, baby, I'm so glad I found you!” Todd exclaimed, as the horses came to a halt. He gestured at the einherjar currently closing the gate. “These clowns wouldn't let anyone into the city, even though I told them about us.”

You yanked your hand out of his. “There's no us, Todd. What the hell are you doing here? How did you even get here?”

The huge head of Sleipnir shoved between the two of you causing the ruckus from the crowd to calm in awe of his presence.

“What the hell? The fuck is wrong with that horse?” Todd nearly shouted.

“He's probably a little peckish.” Thor said dryly. “Oh, you mean the legs, of course you mean the legs, everyone means the legs. It's simple really. It's because he's twice the horse you'll ever be.”

“I...what...” Todd stammered. Loki reached down and placed his hand firmly on your shoulder, either comforting you, or holding you in place so that you could not hop off your little horse and run off with Todd. Little did he know that nothing was further from your mind.

“Forgive me, where are my manners?” Thor said. “I am Thor, king of Asgard, Avenger and defender of Earth. And you are?”

“Uh, Todd Emmerst, sir, your Majesty. Big fan of your work, sir. You see, I've come all the way from Iowa to see _____ again. Now, I don't know the whole story about why she's here, but everyone back home misses her a lot, especially me. I gotta ask; do you really need to keep her? I miss her so much, is there any way you could make it so you could give me my girl back?”

You rolled your eyes. “I'm not your girl, Todd!” You snapped. “The only thing I am of yours is your ex!”

Thor glanced at you, then back. “It appears there is some discrepancy.”

“We had a disagreement.” Todd said. “She was taken away before we got the chance to make up.”

“Did I take you away from him?” Loki asked in a low whisper. “You never mentioned anyone.”

“He's not my boyfriend.” You hissed. “And I never wanted to see him again! He's a total jerk!” He was exactly what you didn't need today, or any day. “Make him go away!”

Loki's prefect eyebrows scaled his forehead. “If my Seidkona commands it.” He said, a wicked grin growing. You barely noticed a little twiddle of his fingers before the crowd started screaming.

With Sleipnir's enormous bulk between you and everything else, you couldn't see what had set them off, but if the shrieks of “Snake!” were any indication, you could certainly guess.

“Everyone get to a safe distance!” Thor shouted, and the crowd obeyed, opening up enough for the procession to pass.

“You know, Brother...” Thor said, when you were all far enough away not to be overheard. “You have been here long enough to be aware that there are no snakes in Iceland.”

“Oh, I am.” Loki said, oh-so smugly proud of himself. “But they clearly aren't.”

“They nearly trampled that man.”

“Oh, that's too bad. Nearly? I shall have to try harder next time.”

“Loki!” Thor scolded.

“I asked him to.” You piped up. “Todd can hold up a debate for hours. He would have tied us up all morning. So I asked him to hurry things along.”

“My Seidkona demanded it of me, and I was helpless under the power of her voice.” Loki said, and your face burned.

“You really dislike him?” Saldis asked. “He seemed pleasant.”

“Oh yeah, he always does when he's in public.” You said hotly. “Then you're left to wonder what happened to that guy when you get home. Why he's like this behind closed doors, why he gets so controlling and insulting when no one else can see him. Or worse, if it's all in your head, if you're really just making it all up, or if it's just you. Yeah, no thanks. Not going back to that.”

“He sounds exceptionally huglausi to me.” Loki huffed. Borgliot murmured her agreement. “And you wanted to scold me.”

“He is behind us now, and will remain that way.” Thor said. “Hopefully that will be the last interruption for the day. We have reservations to meet.”

Movie Review: Asterix - The Secret of the Magic Potion

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH??

I really love this movie. A lot. More than anticipated.

I mean, I had hoped I’d love it - the last one was already really great, which was pleasant because I thought the translation to 3D animation instead of classic 2D would not work. So I was optimistic.

But I was also genuinely nervous because this was only the second movie ever to not be a comic adaptation. And while the last time was brilliant, it’s always been my favorite Asterix movie, there was no telling whether this would be brilliant or a disaster.

It’s brilliant. It was so good. You could feel that it was meant to be a movie, which might play a big part. So far, they were always page-by-page adaptations of the comics and while they translated well enough, there is a difference in story-telling when it’s an issue of a comic-series or a 90 minutes movie.

See, the thing is, Asterix is my childhood hero. He’s the hero I grew up with. Not Superman or Batman or Spider-Man. Asterix was the thing my dad read to me before going to sleep every night, I knew each issue by heart, I watched all the movies every summer when they aired on Sat1. I consumed a lot of media as a kid, Disney and American cartoon series, but nothing was as much a fundamental part of my childhood as Asterix.

One thing I always loved about it, even as a small girl, was that the women were absolute badass. Sure, the main focus - and even the secondary focus - are all on male characters, but the women weren’t just swooning damsels who stayed at home and tended to the house and children. They fought, as hard and fierce as any man - maybe even fiercer than most of the men. They stayed back and protected the village. It was by no means defenseless just because only the women stayed behind. They were always strong and fierce, but they were never in the spotlight.

So that, in this, a female character stood prominent and was kind of the main part of it, that... it meant so much to me, you don’t understand. Vitrine/Pectine is wonderful and amazing and I love her so so so much. Not only because she’s stubborn and strong-willed and kind and clever, but also because she’s an inventor! We have never had an inventor before in this series? This is completely new and it is so cool and I love that no one scoffs at her, for the things she invents, no one belittles them, they respect her inventions.

The idea of Miraculix/Panoramix (German/English name... because I would not know who I’m talking about if I use English names and you wouldn’t know who I’m talking about if I use German names) having an apprentice makes so much sense. He is already so old?

I mean, it was obvious from the get-go that Vitrine/Pectine would become the apprentice. Though... I would have liked them to commit more to it in the end. That she would have actually been taken on as an apprentice instead of the “I’m sure you’ll forget... or not”. I just... I need her to become a recurring character, okay? I am so afraid that due to this movie being “non canonical”, she will not... be in it. I suppose we will see in October when the new comic is released, but goodness I need more of Vitrine/Pectine! I need to see her in more adventures, being useful, helpful and sweet and also learning.

I love when they go visit other druids because those are always fun. That they went with a dark druid as the main villain in this movie was hella exciting for me! Dämonix/Sulfurix was an interesting character and I enjoyed his motivation.

That he won, back in the day, instead of Miraculix/Panoramix, because his was practical. And how he then became... greedy, hungry for power and vengeful because despite all that, Miraculix/Panoramix became such a hot-shot.

I genuinely don’t know why druids don’t build upon their potions and learn more, considering the fire thing is useful for more than the Olympics?? The growth-potion, heck the damn trick with the multiplying bread! How can they discard such revolutionary potions just like that...?

I really enjoyed how Miraculix/Panoramix in the end turned his silly “useless” magic into something incredibly useful. Because it’s always in the perspective and regardless of your powers, it’s what you make of it.

And to be honest, Dämonix/Sulfurix made a hell of a good case. There is this potion, this strength-granting potion, and instead of using that to defeat the Romans, giving it to all Gauls... he keeps it selfishly to one tiny village? How is that good? I really liked that point. It was a really good point. And I’m slightly disappointed that they didn’t even attempt to explain it somehow. So that was a bit of a problem, for me.

The fight-scene was awesome! Seeing Gauls and Romans fighting side by side was so absolutely cool to watch and how the Romans then just left afterward. It was so great.

So, overall, I absolutely loved this movie. I loved the story, the villain was great and his dynamic with our heroes was too - the new characters were wonderful, I adore, love and want to adopt Vitrine/Pectine and I hope we get to see more of her! I laughed so much during this movie, it was filled with so much humor and joy and I felt... I felt like a little girl again, enjoying those movies back in the day, back when it was still something new - I haven’t had that experience in so long, since the movies all adapt the comics and I know them well. It was so refreshing and great and fun. I know I’m repeating myself, but it was so good.

Before I get started..I'd like to just inform you that this cookbook is outstanding. My expectations have been reached and then some. And I had very high expectations, btw. Chrissy Teigen remains the cooking goddess she is and this cookbook will become a kitchen staple for me, just like her first cookbook. I know I'll be using the recipes over and over. I cannot wait to keep the cooking going. So far..and this is since the release (which was last Tuesday)..I have made four recipes from this book. And all four were delicious. My sister made two others and they were also delicious. I'd say we're on a roll. And now what follows can probably be described as a rant of my love for Chrissy Teigen's cookbooks. I'll let you know which recipes I've made and how this book compares to the last one. Let's go!

Okay, so I've already written a raving review of her first cookbook, Cravings. It became my all-time favorite cookbook. I've never made so many recipes out of a single cookbook. I'm telling you..her tastebuds are in sync with mine or something. Or maybe I should stop thinking the world revolves around me and realize the book is called Cravings, so no shit is it going to be delicious to most people. I suppose I'll update that review eventually with the recipes I've made, but it'll get ridiculous because I've really worked my way through it.

I spent the entire time since the release of the first waiting for the release of her second. I'm one of those people who followed her blog before the cookbooks happened. After the blog stopped, I remember loving watching the process of Chrissy making her first cookbook. This time around..she didn't seem to document it nearly as much, which I found disappointing. I still need something to fulfill the void of waiting for Chrissy's blog posts because it took over 2 and a half years for this second cookbook to come out.

Now...it is a great cookbook. This time around..it is once again cravings, although because she is now a mom there are a few differences. She opted for "lighter food" this time around, which let's be real..there is still tons of cheese and bacon and all types of good stuff throughout. But compared to the first book, there are less of those foods that seem like straight indulgences. Still...very similar in ways too. Meaning..if you enjoyed the first book, you will definitely once again enjoy this one.

The other difference here is, once again because she is a mom, time has become an even more precious thing. So there are things that she takes shortcuts on, while also admitting it along the way. For her jerk lamb chops, she says to buy jerk seasoning ready from the store but notes that if this were her first cookbook, she would have given the recipe to make it yourself from scratch. This is true because there's a recipe in her first book involving cajun seasoning and sure enough, she gives you the recipe to make that from scratch. I'm torn on how to feel about this because yes, I am a major lover of saving time. I love getting the option of how to do things a little quicker when it doesn't make a difference in the finished product. However, I do like to get told how to do something, so I can make the decision myself if it was worth it. She could have included a brief put salt, pepper, this, this, and this and you'd have the seasoning. But it's fine. Not the biggest deal. And again, it's something I'm torn on.

This book has a couple sections that weren't in the first book, such as a dessert section. Chrissy isn't much of a sweet person, so it's not cakes, cookies & brownies. This one has a banana bread, soft pretzels, two-faced cobbler, mango sorbet, homemade magic shell, mousse, and skillet peanut butter chocolate chip blondies (UH...YES PLEASE).

Also, there is an entire sandwich section, which includes a couple grilled cheeses I need..the jalapeño-parmesan crusted grilled cheese and sweet & spice peach & brie grilled cheese. Oh and the philly french dip she makes with more of a cheese sauce au jus. There is just so much. I probably shouldn't just list every recipe in the book. Although, if you get a chance..it wouldn't hurt to check out the table of contents.

Plus...this time there is a potatoes & their friends section. POTATOES!! Yeah..my stomach is pleased. It has plenty of potato dishes among other veggie dishes. I made the Tators, Shrooms, & Peas with parmesan cream from this section. And it was SO GOOD!!! My husband and I were both in heaven. It was more filling than we expected, so next time it'll be a main and we'll add diced ham to it. The parmesan cream was so good that we'll definitely use it with other dishes. I'm thinking it'll be good with pasta.

This time around I didn't find the Thai Mom section quite so intimidating. It probably helped that I got blue apron for six weeks this summer when Chrissy had a partnership. A few of the dishes were from the thai section of the first book and they were absolutely delectable. I get why I was freaked out by ingredients like fish sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sweet chili sauce, sambal oelek ..really just things I wasn't used to cooking with. Nor did I see how these ingredients would all mix together to become something heavenly. Garlic is also pretty common in the thai section. I love garlic, though. Anyway, this time around I found myself excited to make these authentic Thai dishes. Last night, we had the Thai soy-garlic fried ribs and OH BABY. Yes, they were ridiculously easy, but oh so tasty. I never knew ribs could be cooked so quickly and there was this nice crisp to them that ribs don't usually have, but I lived for it. Definitely making these again. I cannot believe Chrissy considered not including this one in the book because of how easy it is. It's a keeper. And not something you'd think to do yourself.

I also went into the breakfast section and made the Everything Bagel Breakfast Bake. So good!! It was kind of like a breakfast casserole, but there were chunks of bagel in it that didn't taste fully like bagel by the time they cooked and soaked in the egg mixture. They were much softer. And there were cream cheese bombs throughout. This was a good one for sure! I made mine with mushrooms instead of tomatoes because I'm not a tomato person. And I'll do it this same way again in the future when I want a breakfast casserole with everything bagel type flavoring. Yum!

I finally understand why people call Chrissy a soup master! I have been DYING to try her pot pie soup from the first book. Honestly, I only haven't made it yet because for the longest time I could not find heavy cream in the store. Finally this summer, I FOUND IT!! It's only at one grocery store in my area. So I will make that one in the next month. For now, I needed to make something from her new book. I opted for the French Onion Soup. I'll be honest..I'd never had french onion soup before. I really love onions, though. This one was a major winner. And I feel talented for being able to say I can make it. Not too difficult. Hardest part was getting through cutting all those onions without crying my eyes out. But this beautiful soup turned out sooo tasty. It was oh so cheesy and there were croissant croutons in it that became doughy and just OOOH! You know what I mean? Yeah..this is a major winner.

I guess it's good I've only made the four recipes so far because this review would go on and on. Luckily for you, I didn't have all the time in the world so I'll be making more this weekend.

There is also a salad section, snack section, and supper section which actually has mains & sides tacked on to several of the dishes giving us more side recipes than what is included in potatoes & their friends.

I will say that her introduction to the book and the intros to all the recipes have a great layer of humor. Her stories are fun and will make you laugh out loud. She also talks about how she went through postpartum between books (and babies) and how that affected her/this book. She reminds us she is only human, and a relatable one at that.

There are photos of almost every recipe, but a couple might be missing and that bothers me. I like to see what the outcome of what I'm making should look like at the end. Not to mention, you want to see how tasty a dish looks to decide if you want to make it. I'll still make everything in this book regardless.

So there you have it...delicious recipes from Chrissy Teigen. Food that will make you look like a pro in the kitchen when you have a dinner party. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a cookbook with food they actually want to eat.

An Awkward Tech: Part 2

Summary: It is time for the “next time” dinner!

A few days passed and you and Matt continued having small conversations over text. You would text him to complain about your stupid paper and annoying classmates and he would fire back with complaints about his brothers and classmates as a show of understanding. At some point you guys decided you would have your “next time” dinner the night after your paper was due to celebrate. Ally fully interrogated you when she got home the next morning since you and Matt were texting nonstop from when she walked in to after she came back to the kitchen after a shower. She fully approved your crush, since apparently she had been trying to find a way to introduce Matt to you from the moment she saw him the first day of class. When you told Matt all you shared with her, you left off that comment from Ally. That would be something you would share if you ever started dating.

Right after you turned in your paper, you text Matt that you were finally done, and to see if he would finally tell you where he got reservations for tomorrow, since apparently you finishing your term paper required going to a restaurant that needs a reservation.

5:40 pm: no, I’m not going to tell you the name of the restaurant, but you need to wear something nice

5:43 pm: sir, why must we go to a restaurant that requires nice clothes

5:46 pm: cuz I want to treat you. Papers are hard, and that virus must have caused a lot of stress

You spent most of the day talking with Ally about the possibility of Matt actually really liking you, and that is why you are going to a nice restaurant. She also convinced you to let her do your hair and makeup for the dinner because what are friends for. Around 5 you changed into your favorite dress and flats and sat and waited for Matt to arrive. You hoped he would arrive early, because you were excited and wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.

As you had hoped, Matt knocked on your apartment door ten minutes early. You greeted him with a hug and asked if he wanted to come in or leave now, he opted to come in for a moment. As he walked to the couch, you took note of his outfit, a pale blue dress shirt and dark grey slacks. After you shut the door, you joined him on the couch.

“So, uhh, will you tell me the name of the restaurant now?”

“Nope. You’ll find out when we get there.”

“Fine… I really like your outfit, it looks really nice on you.”

“Oh, uh, thank you. I really like your dress. You look pretty, like always.”

At some point Ally had entered the room from her own, and you didn’t notice. “Will you two just make out or something already, like seriously.”

“ALLY! Really, why are you like this. We should head out now, shouldn’t we Matt?”

“Yeah, uhh we should.”

You followed Matt to a nice looking black sedan. He opened up your door for you and closed it before getting in himself. The drive was quiet except for the radio and the passing traffic, because of the residual awkwardness from Ally’s perfectly timed comment. Matt broke the silence to tell you that you were almost there, and when he pulled into the driveway you realized he made reservations at one of the nicest Italian restaurants in the city. He pulled up to the valet station and was out of the car and at your door before you could even process that this was really happening. He offered his hand to assist you with getting out of the car, then offered his arm to lead you into the restaurant.

A nice hostess stood behind a desk and greeted you both when you walked in. “Good evening and welcome. Mr. Organa-Solo, what a pleasure it is to see you tonight. If you two would please follow me, your table is ready.” She lead the two of you to a slightly secluded booth in the corner, “As requested, sir, and James will be your server for the evening. Enjoy.”

“Matt, you didn’t have to bring me to a place this nice. And why does the hostess know you?”

“I did have to, and I’ll tell you why in a moment. Also, my family comes here often, my mom is a senator.”

“She is a what?!”

“My mom is Leia Organa, the well-known sassy hard-headed senator.”

“Oh my god. And that is why your last name sounded familiar. Now, can you please tell me why you brought me here?”

Right after you said that, James arrived to take your drink order and bring you a basket of bread. After he left Matt spoke up, “Uhh, well, umm, there are two reasons. One is that I wanted to make sure I definitely covered what you paid for our whole meal last week, because that is who I am….”

“Okay, and the second reason?”

“Well, you see, Ally kind of got my feelings right earlier. Well, I don’t want to necessarily make out with you right now, but I do really like you (y/n). And I would like to know if this could count as our first date, if you like me too.”

“Oh, Matt. I really like you too. I would love for this to be our first date.”

“Really?!”

“Yes, I was going to ask you out on a date at the end of the night if you didn’t, so…”

“Oh my goodness, I can’t believe this. I thought you just liked me as a friend or something like that.”

“I thought the same thing about you!”

The night went on perfectly fine after that. No awkward silences, only pleasant conversation, some giggles, and one game of footsie that you accidentally initiated when you stretched out your leg. You both enjoyed your meals and shared a nice dessert.

While you waited for the valet to bring back the car, Matt asked if you wanted to visit his favorite place to go and think in the middle of the night. Not wanting the night to be over yet you agreed.

Matt drove you to some type of small warehouse building, and when he got out of the car, you stayed put because of his apparent need to open doors for you, and you weren’t going to complain.

As he lead you around the building to a locked gate he explained that his family owned the building and it was currently his brother’s art studio, but the roof was mainly his. He lead you through the courtyard before going into the building and up a stairwell to reach the roof. Once there, Matt flipped a switch on the wall at the top landing then opened the door to a roof covered in various potted plants from succulents to roses to vegetables, a few benches, a picnic table, and it was all illuminated by a lot of white string lights.

“Oh, Matt, this is beautiful! Did you put all of this together yourself?”

“Mostly. My mom taught me how to tend to a lot of the plants and chose some out herself, and I had help from my brothers to bring up the benches and table. It is calming to care for all these plants, and sometimes when my brothers are annoying me or I can’t sleep I come here to relax and let my mind wander.”

“Wow, I wish I had a place like this. I just end up laying in bed the whole time.”

“Well, since we are dating, anytime you feel the need to come here just let me know and I’ll come and take you. I even keep a sleeping bag and tent in the shed for really bad nights. I guess I should get another sleeping bag for you.”

“Aww, that is so sweet of you Matt.”

The two of you continued to sit next to each other on the bench you ended up on in comfortable silence. You held his hand and rested your head on his shoulder while just watching the distant city lights and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. A few times Matt placed a kiss on the top of your head which made you smile. After awhile, he lightly squeezed your hand so you slightly lifted your head in order to look at him and smiled when you locked eyes.

“Thank you for coming up here with me. You are the first non-family member to come up here.”

“It is my pleasure, I didn’t and don’t want the night to end. It feels like an honor to be the first outsider up here. Thank you for tonight Matty, I have really enjoyed it.”

You both looked at each other for a moment longer before you leaned in for a kiss. It was a sweet and innocent kiss that left you both blushing and smiling like fools.

“I, umm, have really enjoyed tonight, too. Can I uh kiss you again?”

“Yes, Matt, please.”

This time Ally’s tease from earlier became reality. Matt got you to sit across his lap and held your waist, and, to help yourself keep your torso turned, you cupped his head in your hands. The kisses were long and passionate, you were the first one to involve your tongue but after Matt realized what you wanted, he matched you in dominance. You eventually parted and rested your foreheads together while you caught your breath.

The two of you just sat there holding each other for awhile longer, before you both decided that if you stayed out any longer you would be unable to escape the torment of teasing from your nosy roommates about what you had to have done on such a long date.

When you arrived at your complex, Matt walked you to your door before leaving you with a goodnight kiss and wishing you luck with Ally’s inevitable interrogation. You told him to text when he got home, wished him luck with his brothers, and gave him one last hug and kiss before unlocking your door.

You were greeted by Ally sitting on the couch in her pjs just waiting for you to enter. “Sooo, how was dinner?”

“It went well. He took me to a nice Italian restaurant that his family frequents, and I found out that his mom is Senator Leia Organa.”

“Anything else you would like to add, like maybe the reason it is almost 11 and you left at 5:30?”

“Well, he asked me if the dinner could count as our first date, to which I said yes. Then after dinner he took me to his rooftop garden that is on top of his brother’s art studio. And now I am back and he is driving home.”

“(y/n) I know you are leaving out more details, you know I need everything. So spill woman! Did things get spicy?”

“Not in the way you are thinking Ally. We just sat and talked for a bit, then just sat. He kissed the crown of my head a few times, then we actually kissed and made out for a bit.”

“Sounds romantic, you guys seem too sweet already, I don’t think I could handle a double date with you two.”

“Okay Ally, whatever you say. I’m going to bed, goodnight.”

“Goodnight (y/n).”

Once you got into bed, your phone buzzed with a bunch of texts from Matt.

11 pm: I’m home.

My brothers are already in bed or out. I’m safely in bed now so I think I have escaped the interrogation for tonight

Wait I just heard a door open, at least one of them heard me come in, I don’t think I actually esacaped

I was right, they both ambushed me with questions in my room

11:05 pm: oh no. Ally was legit just sitting on the couch in silence waiting for me when I walked in. she wasnt that bad thankfully

11:30 pm: I SURVIVED!!!! They wouldnt believe me when I said we only kissed. They are lumps but i finnally convinced them

She also said she would never go on a double date with us because we are already “too sweet”

You had begun to drift off to sleep waiting for his response after his interrogation, and fell asleep before you could type out “goodnight.”

day 1: arriving, a glimpse of hongdae, and looking for a place to stay

After contemplating whether I want to start a blog Again for the nth time, I finally come to the decision that, yes, I want to (try) to start a blog again. I made several attempts to start making a "digital-journal" ever since people are raving about starting their own blogs, and also ever since I saw how my sisters running theirs successfully. I even made one last year in 2016 when I stayed in Rotterdam with my sister for 3 months and had an euro-trip with her--so sort of like a travel journal and what it feels like to live in a foreign country with my sister, along with other countries I have visited so far in my life.

All of those attempts didn't come to fruition (okay mostly because I'm a lazy git but also because I'm not confident in publishing my thoughts) but I am willing to try yet again because I'll be living in Seoul for approx. 5 months. And also because I want to practice writing in english, maybe my writing skill could get better, right?

...Right.

Okay, Day 1, when I arrived at Seoul and what I did the whole day.

But before I go on about that, here are some minor information about what's going on with me:

I'm going on an exchange student program to Yonsei

The dorm there is expensive for me because I only get a partial scholarahip from my university and even That wouldn't cover my stay in Yonsei's dorm. rip.

With that said, I'm staying in a goshiwon for the whole program because it's cheaper and usually they serve free food (mostly only rice and kimchi, but I could buy more food to go along with those). Neat isn't it? But if you aren't fond with close spaces and could afford a dorm, I do suggest just go for the dorm because if not.. well I'll explain in my next point.

The thing is, goshiwons aren't as pretty as in the pictures of their blogs. Usually it's even more cramped than what you see and what not, which is why I planned to go look for it with an osmosis (read: friend of a friend) who's Korean but could speak Bahasa so she could help me out find a goshiwon that's perfect for me.

Since there is no way I'm bring my two luggages and one backpack that has my laptop in it, I booked a guesthouse for one night so I could move in to my chosen goshiwon on the next day.

I think that basically covered what I'm going through!

After I arrived at Incheon Airport, I went straight ahead to my guesthouse which is located near Hongdae. Since check-in is at 3pm, I went there just to drop my luggages and took a quick shower—this is because I planned to meet up with a friend of mine from UI who is also in the exchange program to Yonsei. This is also because I planned to meet up with my osmosis friend (which I mentioned earlier) at 6pm, so I have time to kill and looked around the area which will be my home for the next 4 months.

After I meet up with her, we had lunch (jajangmyeon!) before starting to wander around Sinchon. Seriously, we just walked around Sinchon's main street (I think it's the main street anyway, ha) because none of us really have a plan that day. Both of us ended up buying a 5,000 won for 10 face-masks tho! What can I say, it's a good deal.

After we got tired of wandering around Sinchon, my friend and I decide we're going to Hongdae instead. Actually, it's also because we want to buy sim cards for our phones but because we don't know the exact location of the store, we decided to go around Hongdae instead.

Honestly, Hongdae reminds me a bit of Harajuku a bit but I don’t know, maybe that’s just me. Maybe the fact that I haven’t explore Hongdae more and only saw a little bit of it that reminds me of Harajuku.

We still had time to kill so we went out of the inner streets to see the main streets. There are daiso and miniso, CGV, lots of tall buildings with other stores in them. We went to the Kakao Friends too! The merchandises were so cute I actually want to buy them if I have a lot of money to spend on.

Finally, it’s time for me to meet up with my osmosis. She’s a very nice lady and can speak my language very well! Around 6pm until 9pm we went around some goshiwons located in Sinchon. Some I have heard the name of from goshipages.com* but some I don’t even know about. Long story short, we stumbled into one of the goshiwons that I actually know from goshipages. I’m actually reluctant to go in because I know based on the website the monthly rent is way above my budget. But, I trust my osmosis and another neat thing with goshiwon is that you can ask for a discount from them if you stay long enough there--which is why with my osmosis it’s better because she can bargain for the monthly rent price. 

It proves to be successful because the manager agrees to give me a room which I think is worth for 320,000 ~ 350,000 won into 280,000 won/month! It fits with my budget nicely and with a room that is actually bigger than what I thought I would have. It’s all because of my osmosis friend and I am forever grateful for her. I did have to pay another 10,000 won for bed sheets, a thin blanket, and a pillow but it’s worth it in my opinion. The only downside (which is more like in my personal view and not that much of a downside) is that they only serve free rice and kimchi, while the goshiwon that I actually wanted to be in (in the same montly rent aka 280,000 won) serve not just both of those things but also ramyeon, bread and eggs. Imagine the money I could save for food! But all in all it’s alright and you know what they said: beggars can’t be choosers.

After I secured the room, my friend and I bid our goodbyes with my osmosis because it’s getting late and she has a daughter to look after for. Since it was 9pm and we haven’t had our dinner yet, we decide to eat the famous street food that people rave about--such as tteokbokki, odeng, frieds, etc. Street food vendors are lining up every night near exit 7 of Sinchon Station so we went there to check it out.

We tried tteokbokki, odeng, and some frieds. Sadly, I didn’t take a picture of the frieds because it was being readied by the ahjumma when I took it. I did have a video though which I might or might not upload it one day, ha!

The street food was sooo good and it made both of our stomaches full even though the serving was already divided. Not just that, it also counts as cheap so it’s great for broke uni students like my friend and I, haha. I also have thought of one day taking odeng home and eat it with rice because I am sure it will make a great combination. Plus, it would be cheap and make my stomach full, what’s not to like?

Famished, both of us went home to our respected places--my friend to her goshiwon and myself to the guesthouse I’m staying for the night. It will be a big day tomorrow after all because I’ll be moving my things to my own room. 

Overall I am: excited and happy.

*goshipages is a great site to look for goshiwons to be honest. I looked there at first but stumbled upon a problem with a manager in one of the goshiwons I looked up on there. Since that happened, there isn’t any option that fits me from there financially, hence why I looked around when I arrived. My friend who’s from the same university didn’t have any problem with hers though, which is why she already has a place secured before even coming to Seoul.

june: week two

05: i wasn’t too tired when i woke up. i felt good. i wasn’t 100% when it came to doing cardio kickboxing but i got through it. i think the workouts yesterday made me sore too? LOL. i wasn’t expecting that. then i showered, ate my healthy banana and peanut butter whole grain english muffin, packed my lunch, and put the doughnuts in a plastic bag to cover them from the rain. i said goodbye to kevin and then went on my way to work. i dozed off during the ride and then walked over to the office. i wore my rothy’s today to test them again and they seem fine. i’m a bit closer to keeping them ahha. i wished cole a happy birthday with one of the doughnuts (he chose the one i thought he would choose haha). then i worked the rest of the morning and it felt good being productive. i walked to subways with the devs and then had lunch with them. i don’t think i’ve had lunch with them in a while. then i went back to work and did some internet errands until stand up. i finished working on video stuff and then hopped right into working on axure. mathew helped me get acclimated with layers and then i brainstormed on paper until the end of the day. i was surprised that all the doughnuts were gone by the end of the day :P they were good doughnuts. i waited for cole to finish his call and then we walked to the train station together. apparently, he read ready player one and loved it! huhuhuhu.

the train was packed and my neck was sandwiched between two people’s arms -__-” it didn’t last long so it was a meh train ride. then i snacked a bit and went right into exercise. then i watched the season finale of jane the virgin and the ending is wut. i don’t like where this is going. x__x; anyway, i showered when kevin got back and then i watched videos until kevin finished cooking dinner. it was a really late dinner LOL. we ate at like 10:15 pm? i stayed up digesting and reading my book of the month, ‘chemistry.’ i don’t think i like the short sentences...but i kept reading until 12 am and then i brushed my teeth and slept at like 12:30 am. zzz. i need to fix my sleep schedule.

06: my alarm didn’t ring...so i woke up at 7:45 am on my own and if i wanted to get my morning routine in, i would get into the office late so i wfh today even though i did want to go in. it was raining the entire day and we don’t have any umbrellas (the northwestern one got demolished by the wind last week) so i guess it was for the best? i exercised, showered, ate breakfast with kevin, and then read a bit before starting my work day. ‘chemistry’ is an interesting book. i do wish i got the other one for the month though. the writing is very choppy but the book is really insightful. anyway, i did some work, ate during all-hands, and then hopped on to stand up after. i did a bit of work but i felt so tired and unmotivated. i legit fell asleep at some point without realizing it. x__x it was so bad. then kevin got home early and we spent some time cuddling :3 we both ended up napping because this time, traveling kicked our asses. i think last week, i averaged 4-5 hours of sleep. we woke up, kevin started making dinner, i did my back workouts and some cardio, i showered, and then we ate dinner. kevin cleaned up and showered while i did some planning for his birthday. i was supposed to do more work because i didn’t do much today but i got super sidetracked and i was on a roll. i got to plan everything though! i hope it works out :) i let him know a bit but i’m excited for the rest of it, hehe. i did this until 11:30 pm, brushed my teeth, and then went to sleep.

07: i woke up feeling really sad and unmotivated. my vo2 max score on my fitbit dropped down by 1 :/ i haven’t been feeling really good ever since my trip back to chicago. sigh. i made it through my workout and then showered and left to go to work. it was gloomy in the morning but it got sunny during the day. i was really productive today at work though. i just put on some jack johnson and did a ton of design work. we had a quick meeting with frank and then i went back to wireframing and i also managed to talk my mid-day walk. i got a text from kevin saying that he has a fever and he took a sick day. so i left work at around 3 pm and got us dinner from hale & hearty. i got him chicken and rice soup and i got a spicy miso salad ;D i got back at around 3:45 pm and then made him eat the soup and drink ginger tea. kevin managed to pick up the rotofugi package -- i am in love with the shrine artwork we got. we are planning to order another one~ then i went back to work (because i left early) and then kevin napped. i finished working (was super productive) and then exercised. kevin slept through the entire day. i finished my salad for dinner and then i snacked on the asian snacks and felt terrible after. i got on the phone with hillary for the rest of the night while drawing poorly on the ipad LOL. i went to sleep at around 11:45 pm after washing the dishes, putting away the clean dishes, and then brushing my teeth and stuff.

08: lol kevin woke me up at 6 am because he wasn’t tired anymore and he wanted to make himself congee. i got up at my regular time after and did my workout, showered, and hopped on the train to work. i met with mathew and dave to talk about my project and then went to baja taco truck to get fish tacos with the dev team for lunch. after eating, i let dave and mathew know kevin got the stomach flu and i had to head back home to get him some food. i walked to the roche bros in downtown crossing and got bananas and apple sauce. did you know that they sell apple sauce in large containers now? haha. then i took the train home, got on stand up, and then got on a meeting with phil about moving me to a different project for now, which irked me for a bit. then i did some internet errands. kevin and i also purchased another piece of artwork from rotofugi’s current show :) i got myself back into the work grind and worked until 6:30 pm? then i snacked on life cereal with kevin. we chilled on the couch. i watched youtube videos while he read fanfic. then we ate congee and a bit after that, i did my leg workout. it was pretty intense and i loved it. kevin fell asleep at some point while i was working out and then i showered. he woke up and then went to bed to sleep at like 9 pm. i stayed up, watched the newest episode of reign, washed the dishes, and then brushed up and went to sleep at 11:30 pm. YES, SLEEP! :)

09: mmm it was nice getting 8 hours of sleep today. kevin woke up earlier than me and made himself congee. i did a new exercise video in the morning, showered, and then had some breakfast. then i went straight to work and was really productive for the day :) i’m so proud of myself. i was in a total slump in the beginning of the week :/ i got on stand up and then i stopped working for a bit to bake chicken with lemon pepper and garlic salt mmm.  i also put in some red peppers to bake at the halfway mark and washed the dishes. then i ate a late lunch at around 2:30 pm. kevin and i headed to roche bros at some point during the day to get kevin some bread to soak up all that stomach juice LOL. we got a multigrain baguette. mmm. we got rained on coming back home but it got sunny again when we got back...wth... i finished up my work day after coming back and doing another project. then i cleaned up a bit, watched youtube videos, ate dinner with kevin, and then i worked out. i washed up and we relaxed for the rest of the evening. lol i think kevin ticked me off at night for taking so long in the bathroom so i went to sleep kinda angry but forgave him when he got into bed.

10: i woke up at around 8:30 am and then did my 60 minute cardio kickboxing workout at 9 am. my feet started hurting a lot so i had to take it easy. x_x; then i showered, ate breakfast, and i had kind of a melt down. idk, i just feel so unhappy sometimes ever since my trip to chicago. i feel so unfulfilled in a way but i don’t know what way exactly. :/ kevin comforted me and then we got ready to go to our massage at 1 pm. the massage was definitely relaxing and what we both needed after the crazy amount of family time we had in these past few weeks. after our massage, we ate at kkatie’s burgers because it would be kevin’s first real meal other than bland foods LOL. he got a horseradish mushroom ... jalapeno? burger with truffle fries and i got the veggie black bean burger with curly fries. omg, their fries are so good. we also got their deep fried potstickers and those were nice too. my burger was delicious. i should get black bean patties more often! i finished half of my burger and all of my fries <3

we drove back home and then kevin gamed while i started reading ‘into the water.’ i’ve been holding it off but now i feel like i have to finish this book and also let’s not forget bravely default. kevin made dan dan noodles for dinner and they tasted odd at first bite but omg, they’re sooo good. the noodles we got are delicious and chewy. we both read for the rest of the evening. my feet were in pain at this point. my joints were swollen :/ so i didn’t walk much except when i really wanted to. i fell asleep reading in bed at about 12 am and kevin fell asleep at around 2 am?

11: i woke up at 9 am and then brushed and got back in bed to finish reading ‘into the water.’ kevin eventually woke up in that time and i ate breakfast and finished the book. he read fanfic and then i watched some videos while he got ready to go. we meal planned and then headed out to the mall so i could get my free sephora birthday gift -- i got he caudalie one. then kevin went to get us auntie anne’s pretzels and i went to dsw and tried on some dr. scholl’s shoes and happened upon a pair of adidas on sale?! lol i went in there initially to use my $5 birthday coupon for arch insoles. i took a good amount of time to think about whether or not to get them but i did anyway! with my coupon, they were only $47. they also didn’t have the arch support insoles i wanted so.. haha. we went to target and then we got butter, milk, yogurt, and some buns. then we went grocery shopping and ate lunch when we got back at like 2 pm. well, i ate lunch. kevin ate the new noosa yogurt flavors he got. i went straight to cleaning the kitchen and bathroom after that. man, acrylic tubs are so hard to maintain @_@; 

there was a fire evacuation thingy! we thought kevin set off the fire alarm but then we opened the door and realized it was ringing through the entire apartment complex. so we went out and then waited and walked to lowes and then walked back and everything was fine. then kevin and i ate dan dan noodles for dinner while watching ‘lucid dreams.’ it’s a korean thriller on netflix. then kevin cooked for the rest of the night (literally) and i tried getting in 30 minutes of walking on my painful feet. i think i overdid it because my calves were burning by the time i was done walking. i brushed up, kevin showered, and then we made the bed and i ko’d at like 11:45 pm.

may: week one

01: it was an interesting morning. i worked out in the yoga studio today because hillary and daniel were sleeping in the living area. i finished my hip hop cardio and when i started my hiit workout, a lady came in to spin and she just watched me suffer LOL. i made it though! then i showered and started my work day. i just needed to mentally prepare myself and write some notes to prepare myself for my customer call. phil was not going to be on it so i was pretty much solo. i think i did alright though. hillary and daniel packed and left before my call and then later, hillary told me that they missed their flight because spirit moved up the flight time and they had to catch tomorrow’s -__-” wtf spirit? i started doing laundry so it’s a good thing i didn’t wash their towels yet! i did start washing the bedsheets and pillowcases though. meh. haha. i think they can sleep with the sofa pillows and without the sheet for one night, right? x__x;

my day was very chill and when they came back, daniel and hillary took my car to fat cat and i got on my standup. they left me some cajun fries, which were sooo delicious. i snacked and talked to hillary while daniel fell asleep on the couch. hillary eventually fell asleep and then i went back to work. kevin came back and then we talked a bit before daniel and hillary woke up. daniel took like a 3 hour nap. damn. bae and i went to the yoga studio and she did cardio kickboxing with me. right after the workout, she downed a ton of water O_O” haha. kevin was cooking oyakodon at this time while daniel was watching dota streams in the apartment. we came back, ate, chatted, and then hillary and daniel did dishes while me and kevin went back on our computers. he gamed and i did a bit of work before showering, making the bed together, and me sleeping at around 11 pm. zzzzz. it was a nice chill day with the bae and phanpy :)))

02: i took it “easy” and did very little jumping during my morning exercise. then i washed up, ate breakfast, and said good bye to hillary and daniel! :) they were awake but still a little sleepy haha. i sat at john’s desk for the morning and was anxious to see when he would come in and felt a tad bit bad that he had to sit at my desk for a bit. i happened to be in a call when he came in and needed to talk to steve. x__X; we went to tenoch and i got a pollo torta. it was better than last time so i think tenoch is a bit better than i had initially thought. steve and haowei really liked it. i was very productive today and cole helped me set up actions in photoshop to fix something very tedious that i had to do. it was luls seeing him use photoshop though. i finished all of my work at around 4:40 pm and then took it easy until 5 pm. i walked to cvs with cole on the way to south station and i introduced him to all-dressed ruffles! apparently, they are a flavor in the east coast that’s here to stay ahha. he really liked them. boo yah!

i took the train home and then ate fruit and decided to gorge myself on snyder’s honey mustard pretzel pieces T_T it was a terrible choice because i ended up with a stomach ache and it was a bit harder to do my ab workout. i showered and then i made dinner. kevin came back, i played some bravely default and finished the episode of reign i watched while daniel and hillary were here, he cooked some veggies, and then we ate dinner without watching tv. it’s been an eventful weekend and start of the week so we needed to reset a bit. it was a fun weekend though with bae and phanpy <3 kevin gamed and i went to sleep at around 11:30 pm. i wasn’t sure if i was going to work from home -- my heart rate has increased these past few days so i might be a bit sick or getting sick? or maybe i’m stressed? i think the true cause is that i’ve been working out a bit too much with not enough rest. so it’s a toss up of whether or not i’m gonna feel up to it in the morning. 

03: it was such a nice morning T_T the weather seemed great outside but my body was super sore and my stomach was not feeling too hot. i decided to work from home. i also skipped on my morning workout because everything was sore basically. i’m taking it sort of easy today in terms of working out. i started my morning by watching the latest episode of jane the virgin and then woke up kevin. then he left for work and i did some work~ i spent the day moving around and splitting my 30 minute workout that i was supposed to have in the morning, into 15 minute sessions. it was a pretty chill day again because i’m kind of in between projects but a lot of new things are gonna happen for me in design mainly so i’m excited about that. i did a 25 minute dance routine to keep my exercise pretty light today and then showered and made rice and defrosted shrimp. when kevin came back from work, we went outside to chill in the courtyard. i played bravely default and he read a book on his kindle. it got chilly so we went back inside after finishing the grapes we brought out with us. 

then we chilled some more and kevin started cooking. i grinded so hard today. i’m now level 84 and i bought the golden egg and golden whatever it was so i get more job points and exp. we ate dinner while watching some gordon ramsey videos and then we basically wrestled for a bit because he said i made too little rice and was complaining about it and i said he eats too much and then he said i was trying to starve him LOLOL. i got real worked up and then calmed down, gamed, got ready for bed, and went to sleep at around 11 pm. zzzz.

04: i woke up pretty tired today but i did my workout and i wasn’t exhausted from it like i usually am? woot for progress! the video that i followed was one of the ones i had to pause at 3 sets and then continue with the last one, but now i can do it all in one go! after that, i showered, ate cereal and toast and then went on my way to work. i felt pretty dead though so i don’t know if it’s still because i’m not resting? or if it’s something else??? i haven’t been sleeping well again... even though i’m sleeping earlier, waking up earlier, exercising earlier, etc. @_@; it might be kevin’s gaming that’s disturbing my sleep now or maybe i should stop going on my phone right before bed...ahhh, i don’t know -- i’ll test it out. sigh. i thought this was going to be better; i mean, it is in a way but i want this to help balance my life out.

the day was pretty busy and i got a headache because of the new project i’m working on. i forgot how tedious it is to sort through a bunch of unorganized data... well, kind of organized but not organized on a super clean level. i had a bunch of mini chats with mathew about both of our projects -- we helped each other out. i took a walk after eating lunch and then went back to work. cole had to vent a bit so when he was done with his last meeting of the day, we headed to starbucks and he vented and got a venti chai, which he demolished even before we got back to the office o_o he also kindly got me the honey chocolate that’s in starbucks right now. i’m so glad i have a friend like cole :D we finished up the bit of work we had and then headed to south station and took our trains home. i snacked a bit and then did my workout. i also prepped ingredients for dinner and then kevin messaged me saying that he didn’t know his belay class would be so long. so he got back late and i just ate bread for “dinner.” i ended up eating the stir fried noodles anyway but not as late because i wanted to see if that was bothering my sleep. i slept at around 12 am because i was going to wfh tomorrow and i just gamed before sleeping.

05: i was very all over the place today. i managed to do my hiit workout in the morning and then work on my new project the entire day. i took a lot of breaks though to move around, game, and also read! i got my botm in the mail and just started reading it like crazy. now i have a game and a book to read :) my stomach was also just all over the place because i kept feeling nauseous and then gassy and then hungry and the cycle kept repeating. merp i don’t know what’s wrong?! i need to get more fruit for the upcoming week though haha. kevin got back home and we just cuddled and rested after a long week of work. then i did a new 30 minute work out and found out during the workout that one move just hurts my hip like crazy. i don’t know if i like this new video. then i showered while kevin cooked and we had a pretty late dinner while watching supernatural. the characters in supernatural are pissing me off now. @_@; we did a good amount of reading and then gamed for the rest of the night.

06: we got out of bed around 11 am and then i went straight to kickboxing. i was sore from yesterday so i didn’t do my best at it but still got it done ;) then we ate breakfast and chilled for a bit until it was time to get our massages! i got a great deep tissue massage focusing on my legs and then a bit on my back. then we went into the steam room for the first time to try it out! it was basically a shower room with a steam system built in and it was super foggy when we got in. o__o; the temperature rose from 80 to 105 before we rq’d. after getting out of there, we felt so relaxed and refreshed though. we also showered because we thought it would be a bit gross to steam and then leave rather than utilize the shower there too haha. we got boba from oh my tea after; i got the jujube tea and kevin got the mango smoothie! the mango smoothie was the best mango smoothie we’ve ever had... so good. we came back home and chilled. i gamed for a bit; i’m finally getting the vampire asterisk! then i finished reading my book of the month, ‘since we fell’ (it was aiight), and then we took the ‘t’ to back bay to meet up with jenny and her friends.

i met jenny’s friends: effie and monica, and kevin and jenny’s mutual friend from northwestern, derrick. we had to wait 45 minutes get seats at a restaurant called, ‘the salty pig’ so we just talked inside a mall. the service at the restaurant was below average and the wait for the food was too long and not worth it. the food portions were TINY as well. i was excited for their gnocchi but it was super mushy and too sweet. we won’t be coming back here. after dinner, we walked over to ‘the beehive’, a jazz bar/restaurant. there were no available seats and everyone was pretty tired. we did stay there until 12 am though and near the end, we managed to get seats. kevin got poutine and ate at the bar counter while standing lulz. we just talked and then we walked effie and jenny back to effie’s apartment and then derrick went the opposite way to get his bike, and kevin and i took the ‘t’ back home. i drank a pimm’s cup at dinner and by the time we got home, my stomach hurt (it could have also been some of the cheese i ate) and i had a pinching headache. kevin started meal planning with me and i just had to ko on the bed after using the bathroom x_x; i woke up at 2 am, brushed my teeth, and went back to sleep. kevin was finishing up a game and went to sleep at around that time as well.

07: i woke up feeling a lot better! my back was sore from the massage but that means she worked her magic on it. we got out of bed at 10 am. i went to shower, kevin ate breakfast, i ate cereal, started reading ‘ready player one’ while kevin used the washroom, and then we headed to kam man, lucky fortune, and bj’s. apparently, all the produce was fresher this time (maybe because we went there early). then we went to get asian buns from the bakery at lucky fortune as well as some red plums. we stopped by bj’s to get english muffins and then unpacked everything, filled water bottles, and headed out. we stopped by a mcdonald’s because we were craving it. i got 4-pc chicken mcnuggets and an order of small fries and kevin got a mcdouble and mcchicken. both were mcpick 2′s so everything was just $5. <3333 we ate as kevin drove to the hammond pond reservation to meet up with matt and megan (sp?). the boys were outdoor climbing today and we came along to watch, enjoy nature, and take pictures of them ;P

megan used her cool lens attachments for her iphone to take pictures and they were so high quality! it got super chilly but i took a short walk around the place. the reservation is right next to a large movie theater and strip mall so the views weren’t all that great / no hiking trails were defined. i had to pee when we got there but kevin and i got there late so we felt bad for making them wait T_T nearing the end of the climb, i could not hold it in any longer. walking to the car made me want to pee my pants and i felt like i had super bad cramps. kevin rushed to say goodbye to them and then hurriedly drove me over to the strip mall and went outside to ask if there were restrooms i could use. we stopped at a cupcake shop and when i went in, the cashier said someone was in there -__-” then kevin went to the place next door and luckily, no one was in there and i got to finally pee. tmi, but i literally had so much pee, i had to like push it all out @_@ LOL anyway, kevin used the restroom as well and then we drove back home. kevin went to shower and i just chilled, snacked on some snyder’s, and continued reading ‘ready player one.’ then i did laundry and continued reading the book and playing games. the book is really interesting to me so far. it’s very sao-eqsue and log horizon-esque... oh and dot hack-esque ahah.

kevin cooked and i was about to clean the bathroom, but i was talking to winston about staying over at his place when we head to new york for my birthday. winston initiated a video chat with us so we got to catch up :) kevin was still cooking but it was nice to hear from winston <3 we talked while we ate dinner and then winston went back to reading and doing his thang. kevin washed dishes and i folded clothes and then we booked our amtrak tickets (omg thank you, effie for all the tips and tricks for going to ny for cheap!!!) and then i started looking for a hotel (we decided with winston’s encouragement to get a hotel instead) and then i got tired and i went to bed at around 12 am.
