A high school reunion quickly turns into a test of Jihoon’s sanity.

jihoon does not believe in second chances. 

not until he was the one desperately hoping for it. 

the second chance to have the stars align for him and soonyoung. 

five years. 

jihoon waited and prayed every passing time for the universe to give in to his pleas. for the universe to get irritated with his unending chant and decide to just let him have his second chance. 

he feels pathetic. he was the one to blame why he lost soonyoung in the first place, yet here he is. down on two bended knees, hands together, eyes shut tight, desperately calling for the universe again. 

he wanted to ask his friends for soonyoung. he itched asking about the other man's life right now, where he was, if he was doing okay. if he is at least happier now. 

but jihoon avoided it. 

he kept the promise he silently made after soonyoung left their door. jihoon promised to let soonyoung be free and happy. to let soonyoung heal from him, himself, and the world. to let himself heal as well. 

jihoon recognized his faults but it was too late. soonyoung was already burning and with the only little part of him untouched by the flame, he took courage too back away from the source of fire—jihoon. 

despite wanting to ran after soonyoung, jihoon allowed himself to recover. little by little, he began picking up the scattered pieces of himself. it was hard. some days he wondered what if soonyoung was with him still through it all. the other would gladly help him find his missing pieces, support him in putting back and fixing all the mismatched parts of himself.

but jihoon did not know better and chose to isolate himself, cage in his feelings and let it weigh him down until he couldn't get up anymore and all he could do was lash out everyone around him and bring them down with him. 

jihoon had imagined it. every possible situation where he might end up meeting soonyoung again. 

at jun's studio. at the diner two streets away from the studio. at the ice cream shop near their old university. at the sushi restaurant hidden in an alley they stumbled upon while having a night walk. at the park. at the street on his way to work. at the mall. in another country, japan perhaps. 

but never in front of his door. 

never with soonyoung who's hand was stopped midair as if he was about to knock. at jihoon's door. never with soonyoung looking so beautiful dressed in a plaid shirt and grey sweats. his imagination did not give justice to the beauty soonyoung possessed. 

jihoon had imagined every scenario of this moment in his head so he would know what to do. but right now, all he could do was let a tear fall from his eye. one, two, three, five, eight. he lost count of the tears racing down his cheeks. he could feel all his remaining energy draining and what's the best thing he could think of but to pull soonyoung close to him and engulf him in a desperate, longing hug. 

soonyoung.

i miss you. 

those were the few jihoon kept calling out as he kept tightening his hold on the other. he burried his face on the taller man's chest. and soonyoung had his arm rubbing jihoon's back and the other brushing his hair. he didn't say anything but it was enough for jihoon.

Stealing kisses

SoonHoon au, drabble, random prompt.

(Day 1) Soonyoung licks his lips after stealing yet another kiss from Jihoon, the later staring at him.

"Why do you kiss me so much lately?" He asks

"Can't I?" Soonyoung retorts and Jihoon squits his eyes

"Yes, you can... Of course you can."

(Day 2) Their kisses got a little heated and Soonyoung was now moaning into Jihoon's mouth while kissing him like it's the end of the world.

"You taste so good, so good" Jihoon shivers at the words and lets Soonyoung take everything he wants from him.

(Day 3) Jihoon forgot his lipbalm at his studio and Soonyoung keeps pouting at him.

"What?" he asks

"Nothing" Soonyoung reply

"Your pout say otherwise," Jihoon takes a deep breath. "Don't you want my kisses today?" Soonyoung rolls his eyes and open his mouth to speak.

"Of course I want to—"

"Then come here," Jihoon interrupts him and Soonyoung obeys, going to him and sitting on Jihoon's lap. "Why? you don't want my kisses now that I don't have my lipbalm?"

The words made Soonyoung turn red and he tried to stand up from the other's lap.

"Where are you going?" Jihoon says amused and Soonyoung can't really believe the situation he's gotten himself in.

"Y-you knew?"

"Of course I knew"

"And you let me?"

"Of course I let you"

"Do you like my kisses?"

"Your kisses feel like magic, Soonyoung."

Summary: A short story about a late night snack, and a soft sway with SoonHoon.

It’s late at night, and the stars in space twinkle in the Earth’s atmosphere. The pale moon reflects its cold light in through the bedroom window of an apartment in South Korea. The faded shine lands on a king size bed, with a couple laying in it.

Snores are heard, and murmurs of a dream are lost in the pillows. Nothing but the peaceful rhythm of breaths and the warmth of two bodies entangled in a large lump of love and affection. Until suddenly, the smaller of the two snaps awake. As he raises a hand to rub at his eyes, he sees the blinding numbers of the clock set next to him. “2am?” He whispers. He then turns to face his lover.

The larger of the two, is no doubt the softest. Even in his sleep, his chubby cheeks are squished so cutely; the upward curve of his lips gets lost in them. His nose is crinkled and his eyes are just two slanted lines of happiness. His face is nothing short of peaceful and content, a contrast to his usual energetic and hard-working persona when awake. The smaller takes a moment to sigh and wonder how he got so lucky, until his stomach growls. Early morning snack it is then.

He gently unwraps his partner’s arms from around him and positions a pillow to be where he was. When he takes the covers off his body, he’s hit with a wave of cold. It’s only at this moment that he remembered he’s only wearing a large t-shirt, belonging to the squish next to him, and a pair of boxers. So, he grabs a blanket from the end of the large bed, wraps it around himself, and heads to the kitchen.

He easily gets to his desired location, and goes straight into the fridge for ingredients to a sandwich. He digs out cheese, mayo, and ham, then goes into the pantry to get the bread. Soon enough, the sandwich is done and is already being gnawed on by the tiny man with the big appetite.

In the clear quietness of the night, he hears the shuffle of footsteps, then his lover appears with messy hair and baggy pajamas. “What are you doing up?” Jihoon says as gently as he can with a mouth full of sandwich. Soonyoung doesn’t reply until he’s officially near the shorter, and leans on him, softly speaking, “I lost my warmth.” “Well your warmth was hungry.” Jihoon replied with an adoring type of sass that was only for the mochi man in front of him. “Fair enough.” Soonyoung says, with a yawn.

Eventually, the sandwich is finished. Jihoon wraps his blanketed arms around Soonyoung’s shoulders, and in return, Soonyoung wraps his arms around Jihoon’s waist, moving his chin to rest on the shorter’s head.

They start to sway as the only thing they hear are breaths being taken and hearts beating as though they were saying I love yous for the first time again. Jihoon starts to hum a song stuck in his head. The song titled Falling For U is performed by their friends in the same group as them, and it just feels right for the moment. So, they spend the next hour or less doing that; enjoying each other’s presence.

The next morning, they wake up on the floor of their kitchen, cuddled against each other, with the blanket tangled with them. What happened after they stopped swaying? They’ll never know. But they might just stay down for a little bit longer.

(#37: “Wanna dance?”)

Okay, so Soonyoung didn’t end up going with his Plan A, which was going to prom with Hwang Eunbi from the class next door. Fair enough, since she had decided that Hong Jisoo from senior year was worth more of her time, but she’d be regretting that when he cracks his stupid jokes in the middle of the dance floor.

Plan B was also ruled out the minute he walked in on Jungyeon being asked out too. He hid the flowers and ran out and gave them to his math teacher, hoping that it would at least raise his grade in that class, if not get him a date.

So there he was, the day before prom with no date and two tickets. His pride had stopped him from going after any other girls and he sat dejectedly in front of the music building, rubbing his shoes into the dust beneath him. Seungcheol was hanging out with his date and trying to figure out their transportation and had left Soonyoung to his own business.

Just then, he saw a small figure walk out of the big doors of the music building, hoodie taking over more than half his frame and beaten up black vans. He was holding a huge box of god-knows-what which literally covered his frame from the front.

Knowing better than to just sit there and observe, Soonyoung made himself useful. He took the box from the smaller, who was shocked.

“Um, who are you?” came the voice, which was much deeper than Soonyoung had anticipated, considering his height.

“I-” he stuttered, “I’m Kwon Soonyoung, and I’m a third-year. You are?”

“Lee Jihoon. Thanks for helping me, by the way. Seokmin forgot to take these back to the audio teams so…”

The two chatted on the way to the building where they would drop the box off and soon parted ways.

Hoshi decided to go anyways. Who cared if he didn’t have a date to prom? He was going to go in style and helped his friends take pictures before they were going to leave. However, someone unexpected stepped out of the car with Seungcheol and his date.

The boy from yesterday! Jihoon?

Jihoon’s eyes widened when he saw Soonyoung standing in front of the pagoda with a professional DSRL in his hands. 

“Jihoon, you didn’t tell me you were coming!” Soonyoung yelled before giving him a fist-bump.

Seungcheol, seeing the commontion, was confused. “Wait, when did you meet Jihoon? I don’t think I ever introduced you guys…?”

Soonyoung was just laughing. “I met him yesterday! But don’t you have a date?” he turned to Jihoon, who was shyly looking around.

“I didn’t think I was going, to be honest. Seungcheol convinced me because otherwise I’d ‘regret it for the rest of my life”, he rolled his eyes and shook his head.

Without wasting more time, the group took their photos and headed to the venue with their ties in place and corsages neatly pinned. Throughout the beginning, everyone and their dates were sitting at their tables with plates of food and were happily chatting with each other. Soonyoung hardly felt out of place this way, and he noticed that Jihoon was equally comfortable. The two had stuck together to get food and even pushed each other to try dipping a piece of their gourmet sandwiches in the chocolate fountain when nobody was looking.

Eventually, the group had dispersed, some taking pictures with their dates and others heading to the dance floor. Before they realized, the two were left at the table alone. It had become sufficiently awkward. They weren’t huge selfie-takers and the photobooths were bombarded with couples fighting to get disgustingly cute makeout pictures in there.

And then the music slowed down. Everyone had gethered to the dance floor except for the two dateless friends, who awkwardly sat at the table, glancing at their phones from time to time. 

All of a sudden, Soonyoung felt a tug at his sleeve. “U-um, well... I know we’re both guys but...do you wanna dance?”

"I...I would love to.”

i feel like i really didn’t write as much as i should have and wanted to during this year. i’m still really burdened by my self-inflicted fear of not being good enough, not only for you guys, but for myself. i hope to find more courage to write my stories and share my thoughts and ideas and horniness through them in 2021. and to anyone who sticks around to hopefully see that happen: i couldn’t be happier to have you.

01. first creation of 2020

cat got your tongue, january 2nd. it was just a spontaneous, smutty little drabble. not much else to say, i’m afraid.

02. last creation of 2020

half-silvered, december 28th. it was part of merakii’s job au collab and it was my first participation in a collab. i’m actually really happy with it and it is currently the longest piece i’ve posted on this blog. i’d be so appreciative to anyone who would read it and already am to the ones who already have.

03. one of your favorite creations from 2020

i didn’t create all that much, hehe. but i think my favorite piece from 2020 is quits, my wonwoo fic. i’m really happy with it. i think i captured the atmosphere i wanted to in that, the feeling i had while thinking of the fic. it’s cozy but real. sorry for stroking my own horn.

04. a creation you’re really proud of

probably the same as the one above. i’m also proud of in death, a drabble for soonyoungie. and bedside, a drabble for jihoonie. another jihoonie drabble, neediness, i really like too.

05. a new style that you tried this year and a work that used it

honestly, i don’t really know anything about different styles or at least don’t consciously categorize them. i just write however feels right in the moment, so i don’t know!

06. a creation that took forever

it usually doesn’t take all that long for me once i’m finally writing - not weird considering my fics haven’t been very long as of yet. what takes forever for me is to just... start writing...

quits, which makes me happy. because i like it a lot.

Notes: A short drabble based on that One Fine Day moment were Hoshi said S.Coups would date Woozi if he was a girl.

“If it were you, would you want to date me?!”

Jihoon yelled annoyed at the answer the boy sitting next to him gave as to who the eldest out of your friend would date as a girl. His friends joked a lot, always messing him in the middle. It pissed him off but he couldn’t really do anything.

The other boys sitting around the table bursted laughing and, since Hoshi’s answer was wrong, continued to overlap each other voices trying to guess who it really was. With the corner of his eye, Jihoon could catch a glimpse of Soonyoung’s shift of expression after hearing his complain.

His eyes that seconds ago, were beaming with cuteness and excitement, opened abruptly, turning serious afterwards, his eyebrow’s furrowed. His complex was completely stern, as if Jihoon had questioned something absurd, even insulting.

But in a mere second, his eyes turned mellow, his expression soft. Woozi could clearly see him gulping by the bob of his adam’s apple. His face distressed, almost sorrowful. He parted his lips, his mouth standing agape, not really sure how it should proceed. He lowered his gaze, fumbling with the hem of his own shirt. And then Jihoon gulped, knowing what the words that wouldn’t leave Hoshi's lips would probably be.

He felt his cheeks heating up, the thought of actually hearing Hoshi say it made butterflies flutter in his stomach. His eyes glanced up, meeting the others shy ones but it was clear to both of them that the one who was really flustered was Jihoon.

By now, none of their other friends were paying attention at neither of them, the sound of their high voices just white noise to their eardrums. In that moment, Soonyoung quietly lean a little to Jihoon side, looking him deeply in the eyes, a soft, caring smile adorning his plump lips as he muttered a sweet “Anytime ~”
