*dusts off this blog that I haven’t used since 2019.* Well what do we have here? It’s my designs of all of the current LA Unlimited Tacos! Designs are either based on the wiki, HeteraSky on Twitter’s minis, or my own brain mixed with what’s been said on the Tacos discord. Here’s to all of our guys surviving this season!

Fate's Embrace - Chapter 4
Tumblr media
The next morning dawned grey and heavy with the promise of rain. Soojin stood by her window, her mind still reeling from the events of the previous night. Hana's warning played over and over in her head, but it only fuelled her curiosity. What was she really dealing with? Who was the stranger, and why was he helping her? And more importantly, why was the book so dangerous?
As the morning wore on, Soojin couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Every creak in her apartment, every flicker of shadow outside her window made her heart race. She tried to push the paranoia aside, but it clung to her like a second skin. Still, she knew she couldn't afford to ignore Hana's warning. Something—or someone—was after the secrets she was trying to uncover.
By noon, Soojin had decided to meet Hana as instructed. She had to get answers, even if the truth was terrifying. After grabbing her jacket, she tucked the pendant securely into her bag and made her way through the city streets. The clouds overhead had thickened, casting an eerie gloom over everything, and a cold wind whipped through the streets, sending leaves skittering across the sidewalks.
The café where she was supposed to meet Hana was tucked away on a quiet street, a small, nondescript place that seemed perfect for a secret conversation. As Soojin entered, the smell of freshly brewed coffee greeted her, but her nerves were too frayed to appreciate it. She spotted Hana sitting at a back table, her eyes scanning the room anxiously.
When Soojin approached, Hana gestured for her to sit down, and without preamble, she leaned in, her voice low. "Soojin, listen to me carefully. The book you've been studying—it's a key. Not just to ancient knowledge, but to a doorway."
"A doorway?" Soojin repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. "What do you mean?"Hana glanced around the café before continuing. "There's a balance between our world and the supernatural realms. That book holds the secrets to unlocking that balance, but it's dangerous because if it falls into the wrong hands—"
"The wrong hands like who?" Soojin interrupted, leaning forward, her heart pounding. Hana's expression darkened. "There are creatures—beings—who have been exiled or bound by that balance. If they were to cross into our world, the consequences would be catastrophic. The stranger you met... I suspect he's one of them."
Soojin's eyes widened in shock. "What? You think he's one of these... beings? But he's been helping me."
Hana shook her head. "Maybe he's helping you, or maybe he's using you. These beings—vampires, demons, entities from the void—they are masters of manipulation. You need to be careful. I've been watching that bookstore for weeks because of the book's appearance. There are others like him, watching, waiting."
Soojin felt a chill run down her spine. Everything was starting to make sense in a terrifying way. The stranger's otherworldly grace, his knowledge of the book, the way he had seemed to vanish without a trace—all of it pointed to him being something more than human. But even so, she couldn't shake the strange connection she felt to him.
"I don't think he wants to hurt me," Soojin said slowly. "He gave me this." She pulled the pendant from her bag and placed it on the table between them.
Hana's eyes widened in recognition. "Where did you get this?" she asked, her voice tense."He gave it to me," Soojin replied, watching as Hana's face drained of color. "He said it would guide me."
Hana stared at the pendant for a long moment before speaking again. "That's not just any pendant, Soojin. It's a talisman, a powerful one. It binds you to him."
Soojin's breath caught in her throat. "Binds me?"
Hana nodded grimly. "Whoever gave you this has marked you. It's a connection between you and him, which means you're more involved in this than you realize. He can sense you, track you, and—more importantly—control you if he chooses."
Panic surged in Soojin's chest, and she quickly pulled her hand away from the pendant, her mind racing. "I didn't know... I didn't—"
Hana reached out and grabbed her hand. "It's not too late. We can break the connection, but you'll have to sever ties with him, with the book, and with anything related to this world. You need to walk away now before it's too late."
Soojin looked down at the pendant, her thoughts swirling. Part of her wanted to believe Hana, to cut all ties with the supernatural world and go back to her ordinary life. But another part, the part that had been intrigued by the mysteries and the stranger's enigmatic allure, couldn't let go. There was something about him that called to her, something that felt important, as if their paths were meant to cross.
"I don't know if I can," Soojin admitted quietly, her voice filled with uncertainty. "I feel like I've already gone too far."
Hana's grip tightened on her hand. "Soojin, I'm telling you this because I've seen what happens to people who get too close to that world. It doesn't end well. You have a choice, but you need to make it now."
Soojin's heart raced as she stared at Hana, her mind torn between the safety of the known and the intoxicating lure of the unknown. Her entire life had been filled with normalcy—mundane routines, predictable outcomes. But now, she stood at the precipice of something far greater, something that could change everything.
Before she could respond, the door to the café swung open, and a gust of cold air rushed in. Soojin's heart skipped a beat as she looked up and saw the stranger standing in the doorway. His dark eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, the rest of the world seemed to fade away. He moved toward her with the same grace as before, and Soojin's pulse quickened with a mixture of fear and fascination.
Hana tensed beside her. "We need to go," she whispered urgently. "Now."
But Soojin was frozen in place, caught between two worlds, two choices, and the gravity of the moment. The stranger stopped just a few feet away from her table, his gaze flickering briefly to Hana before returning to Soojin.
"Soojin," he said softly, his voice like a lullaby that soothed and unsettled in equal measure. "You shouldn't be here. This place is dangerous for someone like you."
Hana stood abruptly, placing herself between Soojin and the stranger. "She's not going with you," she said firmly. "You've already done enough."
The stranger's expression remained calm, but there was an undercurrent of tension in the air. "You don't understand what's at stake," he said, his voice low but powerful. "I'm trying to protect her."
"By marking her?" Hana shot back. "By pulling her into a world she has no business being a part of?"
Soojin's mind swirled with confusion. "What are you protecting me from?" she asked, her voice trembling.
The stranger's eyes softened as they met hers. "There are others—more dangerous than you can imagine. They know about you now, and they won't stop until they've gotten what they want."
"And what do they want?" Soojin whispered.
His gaze darkened. "You."
The weight of his words hung in the air, and Soojin felt the ground shift beneath her feet. Everything Hana had said was true, but there was more to the story than she realized. She wasn't just entangled in some ancient mystery; she was a target in a game far bigger than she had ever imagined.
Hana stepped closer to Soojin, her voice urgent. "We can still break the connection. You don't have to be part of this."
But Soojin knew, deep down, that the choice had already been made. She was part of this world now, whether she liked it or not.
"I'm not running," Soojin said softly, her decision firm. She looked up at the stranger, her heart pounding. "Tell me everything."

3. Tell me about one of your fics you think is underrated/underappreciated.
I don’t think enough people know the Lore of SOOJIN SWEEP to be impressed and awed. But the context is we were watching live as Soojin Gloom got incinerated and I was like “hang on I’m gonna get food” and turned that fic around in like an hour.
9. Do you ever look at your stats on AO3?
Usually, when I look at stats, it's to gauge, like, how many femslash works I need to make or looking at the number of words I've posted. I don't really put too much stock into how many comments/kudos I get on a piece. (Comments do make me VERY very happy, though, and I will love you forever.)
11.Share a favorite comment a reader has left you.
It took a second to find this one but this is hands down the funniest, best, most memorable comment.
Tumblr media
- Comment on “Survival Cannibalism” The context for this joke is it’s the radio call you play in Metal Gear Solid 3 to call Para-Medic after eating a new food. On a fanfiction. About Cannibalism. Top tier comedy. Grade-A comment. Love it. I want it framed.
12 What was the first fandom your wrote for?
If we’re talking “what survived to see the Ao3 Era of Domination” then it’s Welcome to Night Vale. If we’re talking pre-internet age, then it was Johnny The Homicidal Maniac.

GHXST share new track ‘Marry the Night’
Having announced their debut album Admire last month with first single 'Pls, You Must Be a Dream', LA-based noise duo GHXST has now shared new track 'Marry The Night'.
‘Marry the Night’ is a love song for nights after hours spent walking through empty streets. The track opens with a lulling atmospheric loop that gradually opens into heavier spaces, with Shelley X’s signature delayed vocals echoing against drop-tuned guitars. Throughout, a drum machine pulses, like beats echoing from outside a Brooklyn warehouse. It’s gloomy listening, but the gloom is somehow warm and inviting.
