For @sonya-strongmuffin-deville who asked for a shy Charlotte, Bartender AU. It’s not great and I could add more, but here’s my trash.

Naomi was way better at this than Charlotte. Whenever she entered a bar, she was full of life and the most gorgeous smile known to man. Whenever Charlotte entered a bar, her hood was up and she was trying really hard to make sure none of the boys in the bar bothered her.

“Girl, why you always hidin’? You’re beautiful! You could have anyone in here you wanted!”

Charlotte smiled at Naomi and pulled at the collar of her flannel. She was only out because it was Glow’s birthday; bars were certainly not her preference.

“What kind of drink do you want, I’ll buy.” Charlotte tried to change the subject.

Naomi smiled; her bestie was nothing if not ridiculously shy.

“Jagerbomb?”

“I said drink, not shot.”

“A shot is technically a drink.”

Charlotte rolled her eyes and raised her hand to flag down the bartender. And then immediately she froze; her index finger halfway in the air, Charlotte’s jaw dropped completely. The bartender turned around, her dyed orange hair flipping perfectly over her shoulder.

“Did I hear someone order two j-bombs?”

Naomi, barely, stifled a chortle and nodded while poking Charlotte in the side.

“You gonna pick your jaw up from China or what?”

“Uh.”

The bartender mixed their jagerbombs, never once looking away from Charlotte.

“Char, I think Becky likes you.”

“I…”

“Here you go ladies. Happy birthday Glow.”

The bartender’s gaze switched only momentarily to Naomi before refocusing on Charlotte.

“Thanks Becks. By the way, she’s single.”

“NAOMI.”

Naomi laughed as Charlotte’s icy cold glare hit her. Her glare was almost immediately subdued, though, as she caught Becky winking at her out of the corner of her eye. In a flash, Becky was gone but the fluttering in Charlotte’s chest was not.

“Charlie don’t make me play matchmaker. I see your thirsty ass. Becky is hot… and single.”

“I… shut up!”

Naomi laughed, chugging her shot down. Charlotte tucked her head down but glanced up. Becky the Bartender was smiling at her from the other side of the bar. Her eyes flickered to Naomi who was putting the cheshire cat to shame.

“Oh shut up.”
