you know, we actually forgot why we had a "no sympathy for game publishers" mindset for a long time. we just chilled out for a bit. and then we learn that Sony, despite backing down on the "you need a PSN to play Helldivers 2" thing, started delisting the game on steam in a shitload of the countries that weren't going to be able to play it if they went through with the PSN thing, and not only did the actual developers of the game, Arrowhead, not know that Sony was doing this until they were told by players, but said developers also cannot stop Sony from doing it, because the publisher apparently has more power over the availability of the game than the real developers do, and just have to appeal to them and hope they listen.

and then we remember why we hate game publishers.
