I may be misremembering the lore from sonic frontiers and tbh I didnt understand a lot of it, but what if the ancients originally built the koco to be a lot bigger, since the ancients were so big and held so much knowledge, so storing that would be Quite A Task, but over time as that knowledge and tech was neglected and started to erode the koco got smaller, or even the ancients started making the koco smaller intentionally. or both

I interpreted this

as the ancients *not* actually looking like this, with koco in their bodies, but how the koco were sharing memories in real time. So like. What if earlier on, they made/raised/idk cant remember, bigger koco, maybe ones that were more. what's the word. less baby. points at elder and hermit koco. but as the end got closer and they were under stress and short on time, and rushing to preserve their memories in cyberspace, they made the kocos smaller. and the smaller koco seem to hold less? like individual's lives, or even just significant moments in their lives, not large amounts of information

The thought of an ancient uploading (?) A single memory or moment into a koco because its so important to them and they dont want it to be lost as the end approaches

So, about the SEGA Pass characters in Super Monkey Ball...

I was listening to some people complain that:

Too many of the options are Sonic characters

And they don't care about/recognize the rest

And I mostly agree.

Sure, the Classic Sonic characters do suit the aesthetic of Super Monkey Ball, but just Sonic would've been enough. If SEGA really wanted to put all of them in balls, then it should happen in a Sonic game instead. They could have a Special Zone that's based on the Super Monkey Ball gameplay.

As for the second complaint, well, that one might be subjective. Maybe if less slots were taken up by Sonic characters, there could've been more interesting choices.

Personally, I think the fun of the SEGA Pass is getting to see unique running styles, like how Baby is crawling on all fours in his ball while the other monkeys are bipedal, yet he's able to keep up with them. That's why I believe Beat is an amazing guest character – because he's the only one who skates in his ball.

Here's who else I'd love to see as guest characters in Super Monkey Ball:

Billy Hatcher – He could be doing his egg-rolling animation within the ball

Amigo – He waddles rapidly with a maraca in each hand, and there's shaking maracas sound effects while he's rolling

NiGHTS – When stationary, they're floating upright, and when in motion, they're flying horizontally

Ulala – She'd be doing a running version of her walking animation where she runs with the full span of her legs, which gives her a dancer-like quality, and it goes without saying she's holding her microphone the entire time

Vyse – He controls the ball's movement with just a ship's wheel and basically does no running, only lifting a leg and tilting his body where the ball turns; to be honest, I just want a level based on the Great Silver Shrine

Anyone know how I can pitch these ideas to SEGA?

coming on main to say this just bcs i talk more abt sth over here but my ideal sonadow dynamic is soooo situationship coded. sonic will knock on shadow’s door at like 3 am sopping wet scrapes all over his body taco bell in hand stupid smile and shadow will just be like ughhhh fine whatever invite yourself in. they spend a few weeks together in domestic bliss or whatever until shadow notices that sonic’s leg is extra bouncy and his eyes are darting today at breakfast which means he’s gonna leave in the middle of the night off to chaos knows where.

shadow’s version of crashing and leaving is stepping in on sonic’s heroic endeavors but only when the situation is extreme enough to use his Top Secret Government Job as a reason. shadow isn’t using his occupation as an excuse, more so a valid reason to warrant rubbing elbows w sonic and co….and what follows is the most awkward bizarre palpable tension that you can cut through with a knife. like condolences to anyone that is within a 10 mile blast radius of them. when they’re parting ways sonic always says something so out of pocket in love goo goo eyes and shadow will think about it for the next five months nonstop. sonic then shows up on his doorstep and the cycle continues. actually let me expand on why this happens down below

shadow will not tell sonic that he genuinely has feelings for him for a multitude of reasons but the main sparksnotes overarching reason why changes over time. when they’re younger shadow is under the impression that sonic simply can’t be in a long term romantic relationship because he’s incapable. this type of engagement is just his speed and suits his lifestyle perfectly. as they get older, shadow’s opinion slightly shifts in favor of the idea that sonic would never settle down because his appetite to experience everything the world has to offer is greater than his desire to have and maintain in a romantic sense. getting serious is something he doesn’t want turns into getting serious is something he genuinely can’t bring himself to do.

on the other hand, sonic will not tell shadow that he has feelings for him and his reasoning stays the same. and it’s arguably more stupid. sonic is convinced that shadow just isn’t that serious about him. like every time he creeps out of the door in the middle of the night he secretly wishes that shadow will catch him and beg him to stay in this giant confession of love but that would never happen because coming and going is sonic’s thing and who shadow sees in between their meetings is none of his business. if he was that serious then he would confess. when they’re younger sonic fantasizes the doorway scene ending as let me come with you. as they get older, it turns into stay.
