It’s been a minute since I’ve painted, but I’m so glad I decided to jump back into it with this painting I made for the @youmeatsixofficial boys. It’s been 10 years since I first saw YMAS live and they have honestly never ceased to blow my mind. These boys are one heck of a talented bunch and I’m so blessed to have been able to see them grow over the years. This song off their album Night People is one that will forever resonate with me. I cry every time. We all have things we are struggling with. We all have those demons that we face day to day. This song gives me hope. It reassures me that I’m not alone in those struggles and that we will get through it together. After my last visit with @joshfranceschivi I figured this song was the perfect representation of my feelings towards this band and who they are as people. I wanted them to know that they are also not alone. I love you boys dearly and thank you so much for being a constant in my life. I might not see you often (being across the globe makes it a bit difficult) but I cherish the time we do get together. Story time! Today marks 3 years since I FINALLY got to see/meet @andygrammer. I have been listening to Andy since about 2010, so being able to see him perform the first song I ever heard of his, “Keep Your Head Up,” was magical. Not to mention being able to meet someone you’ve looked up to for that long. There’s no doubt there were tears shed (happy tears of course). I never could have known how much this night was going to change my life. I took a chance, but honestly thought I would never be able to get Andy the paintings I made for him. God must have known how much I needed this man in my life because the next thing you know I’m talking with his management & TM to set up a meeting. After the show I was able to meet Andy and share my heart with him through my art. Then you know what he did?! He posted a photo with my art (and I cried again 🙈). I’ve never felt that excited/appreciated before. This was only the beginning of a great artist/fan relationship and I am so grateful! I can’t even begin to thank Andy enough. He is honestly one of the most humble and genuine humans I’ve ever met. He pours his heart into everything he does and it’s just so beautiful to witness. He has this way of warming your heart, touching your soul, and making you simultaneously cry/smile and dance the night away. I can’t even begin to describe all of the emotions I get from listening to his music and seeing him perform live. He is insanely talented and puts on one of the best shows you’ll ever see, that’s for sure! We are so blessed to have him. So so thankful to Andy for literally everything. For opening your heart to us. For supporting me and helping me to see my worth. For always being true to yourself and for being such a positive light in this world. For giving my momma and I a chance to connect through your music. For all of the fun memories and the endless happy tears I’ve cried. You really are incredible and I hope you know that. It’s been two years since I first met @andygrammer and he posted a photo of himself with my paintings on his Instagram. The post is almost at 10k likes and the fact that he even posted it still brings me to tears. Andy’s music has gotten me through so much over the last decade and I feel so damn blessed to have had the opportunities I’ve had to connect with him. So thankful for him and his heart and passion for music and people. I don’t know where I would be without this guy encouraging and inspiring me. If you haven’t listened to his newest album The Good Parts yet, I don’t know what you are waiting for. It’s easily my favorite he’s released so far and I guarantee it’ll pull on your heart strings. Throwback photos from the last time I saw @themaineband! @themainegarrett made me make him a GIANT painting. Then I decided to make the rest of the band paintings that matched because I felt bad that they never get any of my paintings 🙈. Mad love to the @81twentythree family and these boys. They have been there for me since day one. I couldn’t be more proud of all of their hard work over the years and how far they’ve come as a band and as individuals. Well, I’m back at it again. Opened up my blog (that I never really used)…mostly because Instagram wouldn’t let me post that many characters haha. My first post is about the importance of my mental health and needing to take some time to deal with all of the emotions I’ve been holding on to. I’ve been going through a lot in the past few months and it feels good to finally be able to let those feelings go and move on.
